Weeks ago, several of DMX’s friends gathered together for the listening party to his posthumous album Exodus. Just prior to its release, the bittersweet get-together found Swizz Beatz and many of his collaborators in the same room for a positive moment in tribute to Dark Man X, and it was reported that during the listening session, Mary J. Blige was even spotted shedding a few tears.
Not long after, there was news that during the party, Blige somehow was rocking Conway The Machine’s chain, and in a recent interview with Angie Martinez, the two ladies clarified how it all went down.
According to Angie, Mary was just hanging out at the listening party when she saw Conway’s iced-out jewelry. She casually mentioned to Swizz that she’d always wanted one of those types of chains, and without hesitation, the megaproducer made his way over to the Griselda emcee. Martinez claimed that Swizz simply told Conway that Blige wanted his chain, specifically, and the rapper didn’t hesitate to give it to her.
“You are still humbled by that!” the radio show host said about the moment. The Grammy Award-winning singer couldn’t help but laugh. “That was funny, Angie,” the singer said with a smile. “‘Cause when Swizz came and put that chain around my neck I was like, yo, no, this ain’t really happening.”

It was only a matter of time before someone in the film industry capitalized on this social phenomenon. “Karen” is a term that has been used for years to describe often racist, elitist White women who call the authorities on marginalized peoples living their everyday lives, and now a horror film based on the term is coming to the silver screen.
On Friday (June 18), the world got a first look at the thriller-horror flick Karen starring Taryn Manning, Cory Hardrict, and Jasmine Burke, and according to Deadline, the film centers around a racist White woman named Karen who does all that she can to get her new Black neighbors out of the community.
Director Coke Daniels told the outlet, “Last year during the global pandemic and civil unrest, I — like many of us — felt anger, despair and hopelessness. The overwhelming amount of support from people around the globe, who want to see change, has been such an inspiration.” Manning added that she felt a need to tackle the part.
“I felt a social responsibility to take on this role,” the Orange is the New Black star said. “Even if I had to play the villain to affect change around the globe, then I was more than willing to step into the role. What’s been going on is devastating. It’s time for change and for me to be a part of the bigger picture, meant a lot to me.”

She went from superstar to social media pariah in the span of a few weeks after Billie’s Eilish revealed that she’s in a relationship with 29-year-old Matthew Tyler Vorce. The 19-year-old singer has been touted as a shy, media darling, but since she turned 18, Eilish has been showing more of her personality to the public. However, there were clips of Eilish reportedly mocking Asian people that surfaced and soon, the singer faced racism accusations.
Vorce found himself in trouble, as well, after old social media posts resurfaced of him using disparaging and offensive language about gay, Asian, and Black people. He recently issued an apology.
“I want to apologize for the things that I wrote on social media in the past. The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “Whether it was a lyric, a quote or just me being dumb, it does not matter. I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context. It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for.”

After officially launching in the mid-1990s, Roc-A-Fella Records became one of the biggest labels in Hip Hop. Sparked by Jay-Z, Dame Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, the label was responsible for releasing records by Jay, Kanye West, Juelz Santana, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Teairra Mari, N.O.R.E., Amil, and several others. Over the years, there have been talks regarding the relaunch of the label, but for now, Jay has been making moves with his team over at Roc Nation.
However, Roc-A-Fella is back in the headlines after TMZ reported that the record company is taking Dame Dash to court. The media mogul has been entangled in several legal issues over the years, and this time, it all stems from his desire to sell an NFT.
According to the outlet, Dame has been attempting to auction off Jay-Z’s 1996 debut studio album Reasonable Doubt as a non-fungible token, but it’s reported that he may not have the authority to do so. Attorney Alex Spiro is reportedly helming the case on behalf of Roc-A-Fella and reported court documents state the company owns the material, not Dash.
There was also an alleged previous auction that was later canceled, and while the NFT doesn’t seem to be up for auction at the moment, Spiro wants to make sure that Dame doesn’t try to sell the NFT in the future.TMZ claims that the documents also state that Dash is “frantically scouting for another venue to make the sale” in order to pull in big bucks from the current hype over NFTs. Roc-A-Fella reportedly wants Dash to “turn over any NFTs of ‘Reasonable Doubt’ he may have already minted.”
The NFT craze has been lucrative for celebrities and meme creators. People have been cashing in by the hundreds of thousands and sometimes even millions. Dash has yet to respond to the accusations.

The Kardashian-Jenners were in the hot seat during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion with Andy Cohen. The famous family was questioned about nearly every controversy they’ve been involved in over the years, from Kim’s sex tape with Ray J to her brief marriage to Kris Humphries to her divorce from Kanye West to the rumors that she’s romantically involved with famous figures like Van Jones and Maluma.
While some of those topics may be uncomfortable, Kim addressed them all head-on. She noted that she and Maluma have met a handful of times while in Miami, and Kim noted that the singer is “such a nice guy.”
As for Van Jones, he and Kim have been working together with political officials in criminal justice reform, but their partnership has caused the public to speculate about the alleged intimate nature of their relationship. “Van texted me and was like, ‘This rumor has gotten me so many dates, and I am so grateful,'” Kim said while laughing.
“I’m not dating either one. Not Van Jones, not Maluma,” she added. Last month, Van spoke about Kim’s efforts to become a lawyer and praised her abilities. “I think she’s going to be an unbelievable attorney and she’s already one of the best advocates that we have in criminal justice,” he said at the time.

Willow, who also stated that she dates both “girls and boys,” questioned her friend about how she’s dealt with understanding her own sexuality in a world where everyone is paying attention to her every move. “I’m still kind of figuring it out,” Paris said. “My family is very religious and a lot of, like homosexuality, is just very taboo, so we don’t talk about it, and it’s not really accepted.”
“I’ve gotten to a point where I respect them and I have love for them. I respect their beliefs. I respect their religion,” she added. Paris admitted that there were points when she wasn’t sure that her family would accept her. “Right now, I’m at a point where, to expect them to put aside their culture and their religion, like, expectations lead to resentments. The woman who alleges that Lil Durk is the father of her seven-year-old son has more to say about the rapper, this time including his girlfriend, India Royale. Recently, Travonna appeared on blogger Tasha K’s show and detailed her alleged previous relationship with the rapper, stating that Durk has cut off her child while parenting his other kids.
Later, she shared side-by-side photos of Durk and her son on Instagram along with a FaceTime screenshot, adding that she can back up her claims. “I have a DNA test I have my proof I have my reasons I wish I would entertain you devils have a good day & just so we clear that was a prerecorded interview I had no idea when it was dropping it was ppl that seen it before me but judge away yall me (sic) nothing to me,” she said at the time.
In a more recent interview, Travonna continued to speak about her plight, adding that she doesn’t understand how India Royale can be complicit. “Y’all living a lie,” she said in the clip. “And then, it’s like, situations with his new girlfriend, India. I don’t know anything about her and I don’t have nothing bad to say about her, but at the same time, if you know these accusations, I could not be laying with no man and a female is getting exposed like this from the **** and not address the situation.”
“What type of woman are you?” Travonna questioned. “Having your own kids? And it don’t have nothing to do with her, don’t get me wrong. But I just could not be laying with my dude saying, you know, not trying to figure out, okay, if this ain’t it, let’s clear it up. My thing is, if it ain’t a dude baby, they gone come say, ‘That ain’t my baby.'”

Not all compensation comes in the form of cash, and Jordyn Woods is explaining why she worked out an alternative deal with Gunna. Back in 2019, the Atlanta rapper shared the music video for his single “Baby Birkin” and the visual starred Woods. It was during a time when the social media star was at the center of rumors and gossip about her frayed, now severed relationship with the Kardashian-Jenners, and now she’s explaining how her appearance in Gunna’s video came about.
“We’ve known each other for a while so [he said] come be in the video [and] you get a Birkin,” Woods told Complex in a recent interview. “I’m like, say less.”
After being questioned if that’s really how things went down, Woods added, “Well, I don’t do anything for free.” She said, “I mean, the way I view Birkins is this is an investment piece. Value goes up. Some people are like, ‘Oh, that’s stupid, spending that money on a bag.’ But really, it’s like, an investment.”
“The value is not going down, so in a sense, yeah, I got a little stock,” she continued. She then clarified that Gunna didn’t outright offer the Birkin for the appearance. “I don’t do the negotiating,” said Woods. “I’m the face.
