Joe Biden Says He’s Proud Of Sha’Carri Richardson, But “The Rules Are The Rules”

In response to the suspension of Sha’Carri Richardson following her positive test for marijuana use, President Joe Biden says that he’s proud of her, but “the rules are the rules.”

“Well, the rules are the rules,” Biden told reporters while out shopping in Central Lake, Mich. “But I was really proud of the way she responded.”

Biden’s response might not come as a shock, as The Daily Beast reported, and the President later admitted, that his administration fired several White House staffers due to having used marijuana in the past.

Biden wasn’t the only one to critique Richardson. Wack 100 took to another level, Friday, by saying that she has “failed us as a people.”

Richardson says that the reason she used marijuana, despite it being against the rules, was to cope with the unexpected death of her mother.

“We all have our different struggles, we all have our different things we deal with, but to put on a face and have to go out in front of the world and put on a face and hide my pain,” Richardson said in a statement on Friday. “Who are you? Who am I to tell you how to cope when you’re dealing with a pain or you’re dealing with a struggle that you’ve never experienced before or that you never thought you’d have to deal with. Who am I to tell you how to cope? Who am I to tell you you’re wrong for hurting?”

Ice Cube Is Reportedly At Odds With Warner Bros. Over A ‘Friday’ Sequel

Ice Cube‘s Friday series is a classic, but the chances of getting another film in the series is apparently in doubt due to a dispute between the multi-hyphenate and the studio behind the series.

According to a Wall Street Journal story detailing the dispute, Ice Cube apparently wants Warners to surrender the rights to the Friday series as well as All About The Benjamins and The Players Club, two other films he made with the studio.

According to letters between the parties, Warner Bros. doesn’t intend to do this, instead blaming Ice Cube for dragging his feet on a new movie with the studio.

Warner Bros. replied, calling the demand “extortionate” and saying it won’t release rights to the valuable franchise or any other Ice Cube movies, according to the correspondence.

One letter from Ice Cube’s lawyer said the studio has been excessive in its feedback notes on the scripts Ice Cube wrote for the latest “Friday” and contends Warner Bros. has been a “poor steward” for the franchise. “These guys don’t get me, and I don’t get them,” Ice Cube said in an interview.

The report indicates that Cube’s other projects, such as the Big 3 basketball league, is distracting him from the next installment in the series, titled Last Friday. Meanwhile, the rapper and actor says potential discrimination in allocating resources is part of his issues with Warners.

In one letter, Ice Cube’s representative wrote that movies he has done for the studio “are habitually underfunded in comparison with projects featuring white casts and creative teams.” The correspondence points to other Ice Cube films he says weren’t well supported; it doesn’t offer specific comparisons to projects from other filmmakers.

Warner Bros. denies it has discriminated against Ice Cube or that it gave short shrift to any of his projects. In a letter sent in May to Ice Cube’s lawyer Bryan Freedman, the studio said the complaints are “grounded in a libelous set of knowing falsehoods.”

The disagreement between the two sides seems serious, and also doesn’t seem likely to be resolved anytime soon. Which means a sequel to Friday, which came out in 1995, isn’t on the horizon anytime soon. As the report noted, an agreement to make a new Friday movie was first signed in 2012. The story details some plot details the studio objected to, and the pushback that Cube gave about the film’s direction.

It’s all certainly been a long time coming, but fans are likely to have to wait even longer before any real progress is made on on Last Friday.

Kevin Huerter Showered With Boos After Saying Rich The Kid Is Better Than Outkast

Despite an impressive performance throughout the NBA playoffs, thus far, Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kevin Huerter was met with boos while playing at home in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Fans weren’t necessarily disappointed in his play on the basketball court, but in declaring that Rich The Kid is a better rapper than the iconic Atlanta duo, Outkast.

During halftime of the Hawk’s matchup with the Bucks, a bracket of the top Atlanta rappers appeared on the jumbotron featuring the matchup between Rich and Outkast. It was Huerter’s turn to pick and he shocked the crowd at State Farm Arena with his candid choice.

For his decision, he was showered in boos.

During the Hawks’ playoff run, Huerter has averaged 11.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists, but it wasn’t enough to prevent fans from scolding his hot take. André 3000 and Big Boi’s iconic pairing produced some of the most popular songs from the late ’90s and 2000s such as “Hey Ya!,” “Ms. Jackson,” “So Fresh, So Clean,” and more.

In order to make up for such an unpopular opinion, Huerter is going to have to put together a monster second half, as the Hawks trail the Bucks by four points at the break.

Kevin Huerter Disgusts Hawks Fans By Picking Rich The Kid Over Outkast

Fans of the Atlanta Hawks turned on one of their own players on Saturday night … well, kind of. As is oftentimes the case in NBA arenas, the Hawks tried to pass some time in between timeouts by running little segments involving players. One appeared to have some sort of bracket element with Atlanta-based rappers, and Kevin Huerter, bless his heart, earned himself a whole lot of boos.

Huerter was asked to choose between Rich the Kid and Outkast. Now, you and I know that regardless of your thoughts on Rich the Kid, you should say Outkast every single time when asked this question, especially if you are doing this in a large venue in Atlanta.

And yet Huerter decided to give his honest answer, and thanks to a video from Taylor Rooks, we learned that the crowd at State Farm Arena showered him with boos.

The video is great because you can hear the crowd react to “RICH THE KID OR OUTKAST” by making a noise as if to say, “Oh, this one is obvious.” Huerter then zags where everyone expects him to zig, which gets the crowd all riled up. We can’t totally make out what is said on the video, but whatever it is, Huerter chuckles at it. Anyway, Kevin, if you read this during halftime, know you’re gonna need to score like 40 in a win to make up for this.

Wack 100 Calls Out Sha’Carri Richardson: “She Failed Us As A People”

In contrast to the number of voices in the hip-hop community coming out in support of Sha’Carri Richardson, following her suspension for a positive marijuana test, Wack 100 says that she has “failed us as a people” as far as he is concerned. The United States Anti-Doping Association announced her suspension earlier this week, ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

“Put her on the first thing smoking back to the dispensary!” Wack wrote alongside a photo of Richardson on Instagram. “A violation leads to punishment. Nobody is bigger than the program. Rules & regulations are there to be followed not ignored. She failed us as a people far as I’m concerned!”

Richardson says that she used the drug as a coping mechanism, in response to her mother’s death.
