Kirk Franklin Calls Kanye West “One Of The Greatest Artists Of All Time”

There have been quite a few discussions about Mt. Rushmores of Music in recent months, but lists that haven’t yet gone viral are those including gospel artists. According to Kirk Franklin, only one face should be on the Mt. Rushmore of Gospel, and we can all take a wild guess as to who that could be. While out and about, Franklin was stopped by fans and the paparazzi, and for a moment, a TMZ cameraman was able to field a few questions before the Grammy winner was pulled away.

TMZ wanted to know Franklin’s thoughts about Kanye West entering and dominating the gospel arena. “Well, first of all, anybody can do gospel music,” said Franklin encouragingly. “It’s because gospel music is for any of God’s children, man. And [if] anybody think that there’s a monopoly on the gospel, that’s a very arrogant mindset.”

The paparazzo wanted to know if Kanye deserved placement on the Mt. Rushmore of Gospel because Franklin would certainly be on it. “I shouldn’t be,” he answered. “It shouldn’t be no Mt. Rushmore of gospel music.” The music icon was being rushed off by his team, but he squeezed in a few praises regarding West’s efforts.

“I just think he’s one of the greatest artists of all time,” he added. “He’s an incredible artist.” Although his team was trying to get him into his awaiting vehicle, Franklin made sure to pose for pictures, shake hands, and answer questions. Check out the clip below.

Kurupt Has Fun Stirking Fear In Adam22 For Comparing XXXTentacion To Tupac Shakur

Both friends and fans of late rappers often defend their legacies. Although an artist may no longer be with us, their fandoms make sure to carry their banners long after their gone, and often, people draw comparisons between deceased rappers. Such was the case on No Jumper when Adam22 explained why XXXTentacion, who was shot and killed in 2018, and Tupac Shakur, who was murdered in a drive-by back in 1996, are alike. The conversation took place during an interview with Kurupt who asked Adam22 why he believed the two late rappers were similar.

Just as the No Jumper host was explaining himself, Kurupt jumped in to ask if he knew Shakur personally. Adam22 said no, and that’s where things took a bit of a turn.

“How you gon’ saw cuz is like Pac, you ain’t even know [Tupac],” said Kurupt. Adam22 added that it had more to do with fans and such, but Kurupt jumped in again. “F*ck all of that, cuz. You don’t even know cuz. Don’t say somebody is like somebody you don’t know. You ain’t  been around cuz.” Things got tense for a moment, but Kurupt straightened out and joked, “See how people get emotional about that sh*t.”

Everyone began to laugh and Adam22 admitted that the whole time he thought, “Is this gonna be the viral moment?” The rapper replied, “You should have saw your face though, you were like, ‘Oh sh*t!'” Yet, Kurupt did explain why many Tupac fans would see it as an offense to compare him to anyone else.

“He’s dead,” said Kurupt. “You couldn’t say that if he was alive.” Check out the moment below.

JT Explains Why She Got Upset With Lil Uzi Vert For Riding Dirt Bikes With Meek Mill

After declaring that Lil Uzi Vert would be “homeless” following his dirt bike excursion with Meek Mill, JT hopped on Instagram Live to explain herself. JT, Uzi, and Meek enjoyed their 4th of July holiday partying alongside a slew of celebrities in the Hamptons, but the latter two continued their celebrations with some late-night dirt biking. What was supposed to be time with the fellas wasn’t accepted by Uzi’s girlfriend JT, and she commented on social media posts saying she planned on locking him out.

The City Girls rapper later returned to Livestream where she showed several bouquets of flowers before explaining what made her upset.

“I don’t want y’all to ever get it f*cked up like I’m insecure and all of that. I just personally don’t like dirt bikes,” said JT. She added that she doesn’t care if her man is out until dawn because she knows “for a fact” that Uzi loves her, but it is just something about dirt bikes that rub her the wrong way.

“I’m overprotective, I don’t like that. I don’t want you riding no f*ckin’ bikes with no helmet on,” she said half-jokingly. “If you don’t wanna listen, you know, you can sleep in the toolshed with the bikes at Meek Mill house or wherever he at.” Swipe below to check out the evolution of this playful banter.

South London Rapper Dave Announces His Second Album, ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’

The last time South London rapper Dave released an album was back in 2019 with his debut effort, Psychodrama. The project won lots of awards in its native England. Finally he’s rearing his follow-up, We’re All Alone In This Together, which is set to arrive on July 23. He shared the news during an interview with Ciaran Thapar for GQ, which he described like this:

I feel like Psychodrama was me aged zero to 20. Now, I get to go from zero backwards in time and explore stories from before, stuff that led up to the events of the first album: heritage, history, culture, my family, the countries that we come from, the regressive state of humanity in where we are now. Migration is a massive thing for me – boats, freedom of movement. The artwork represents that – the journey – all at the same time, as delivering life from the perspective of someone who has just come off the back of all this… It’s a massive change in character.

The album’s first tentative single is “Clash,” featuring Stormzy. As for what else to expect, fans will just have to wait a couple of weeks to see.

We’re All Alone In This Together is out 7/23 via Dave/Neighbourhood Recordings. Pre-order it here.

Summer Walker & London On Da Track’s Baby Mama Go At It…Again

Despite the online spats and accusations that London On Da Track has faced from the mothers of his children, he was captured having some precious Daddy-Daughter time with the child he shares with a woman named Eboni. In the past, Eboni has aired her grievances with the producer on social media, but it looks as if their familial relationship has changed.

Eboni posted a clip of London at the piano while their little girl watches on attentively, and in the caption, she added, “I’m cryin [pleading face][red heart emoji].”

It seems that Summer Walker, who just had a baby with London, slid in the comment section but later questioned why her post was deleted. Summer shared a screenshot that showed her comment surrounded by remarks from strangers who criticized Eboni for her prior social media arguments against the singer and London. Some people stated that it was only after London and Summer broke up that Eboni now recognized the producer as a good father. Summer later seemingly called it “pathetic.”

After Summer’s screenshot went viral, Eboni responded. “Aye Summer stay off my page out my comments lil b*tch you outta control now,” she wrote. “I just told London I ain’t have no problem wit you but I see you still a S**** Stankin S***.”

Eboni wasn’t finished. “At this point b*tch you wanna be just like me lil ass b*tch,” she added. “Now you gotta baby wit my baby daddy and you hollering out all that same sh*t I was talkin last year.” As usual, London On Da Track is staying out of harm’s way. Check out the posts below.

Soulja Boy Denies Abusing Jane Doe, Wants Lawsuit Tossed Out: Report

His Verzuz appearance alongside Bow Wow is still the talk of social media and Soulja Boy has been riding high with the viral success of “She Make It Clap,” however, he still faces a lawsuit from an unnamed woman. Back in May, Jane Doe filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against the rapper, alleging that she endured physical and sexual abuse during their previous relationship. The woman also accused Soulja of being responsible for her miscarriage, adding that the alleged assault did permanent damage to her reproductive organs.

Radar Online reportedly took a look at court documents filed by Soulja Boy where he responded to the lawsuit, denying that the allegations while asking the court to toss out his accuser’s suit altogether.

“Doe says she had been in a long-term relationship with Soulja where she experienced multiple incidents of assault,” reported RO. “His ex said Soulja, ‘threatened her life and engaged in other forms of domestic violence during and after they lived together.'” She stated that the rapper allegedly punched her in the “face and chest, until she could no longer stand on her feet.”

The documents from her lawyer tell harrowing stories that accuse Soulja of purposefully kicking the woman in her pregnant stomach. However, Soulja’s lawyer has stated his client denies these vicious accusations.

His lawyer reportedly wrote, “With respect to all causes of action, even if someone is liable for improper or illegal conduct, a fact which Defendant denies, Defendant is in no way or manner vicariously liable for that conduct.” They added, that the “willful, intentional, deliberate, malicious and fraudulent conduct of others was/were responsible for and proximately contributed to the damages alleged to have been sustained.”

This isn’t the only lawsuit of this kind that Soulja Boy is facing. Last year, a woman named Kayla Myers, purported to be the rapper’s ex, sued him, alleging that he tied her up with extension cords and assaulted her the previous year. He reportedly denied those accusations as well. Later, police investigated Soulja’s home and located firearms, resulting in his 240-day sentence before he was released in the summer of 2019.

NLE Choppa Announces He’s Quitting Music To Become Full-Time Herbalist

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to NLE Choppa’s fans that the rapper is taking a step back from his music career. Since discovering alternative wellness methods and sharing that he’s living a cleaner and greener lifestyle, the Memphis artist’s social media timelines have been littered with information about growing one’s own garden, anti-vaccine rhetoric, and all of the health-oriented business moves Choppa has been making in recent months.

He’s shared that he’s launched his own tea brand and on Twitter, he made a public call of influencers to receive care packages of his products for promotion purposes, but his announcement on Tuesday (July 6) turned heads.

“Finna buy out my contract and become full time herbalist. Forget the music stuff about to help my people [double exclamation points emoji],” wrote the rapper. Earlier today, Choppa sparked the conversation by tweeting, “Not only food or what you eat but herbs play a major roll in your diet,” adding, “Your diet is the vaccine.”

Back in January, Choppa aired out his grievances with his label and promised that the music video he released around that time would be his last.  Are you here for NLE the herbalist and not NLE the rapper? Check out a few posts below.
