Drake’s Certified Lover Boy has been announced for a minute now. Though it was originally intended to be released far earlier, the project underwent a series of delays, to the point where we’re now expecting a late summer release. 

Recently, Drake confirmed that Certified Lover Boy was currently in the midst of the mixing stages, which is often seen as one of the final steps toward release. In truth, the process actually varies in length, with some artists opting for a more meticulous approach behind the boards. Evidently, Drake may very well be one such artist, as the 6ix God recently revealed that he was back in the studio working on the anticipated project.

It’s certainly interesting to see that Drake is back in the studio, and one has to wonder how close to completion Certified Lover Boy truly is. Given his own claim that the album would be released before summer wraps up, it stands to reason that we’ll see seeing a new song release in the imminent future. Speaking of which, Future was actually spotted on set filming a music video for a Drake collaboration, with rumors pointing to a potential CLB single. 

At this point, it’s evident that the project is on the way, and it’s likely that Drake will be ramping up the hype accordingly once the mixing stages are complete. Be sure to remain patient, and stay tuned for any Certified Lover Boy-related update that might surface. There will be plenty more where that came from soon enough. 

Atlanta rapper Yung Mal, real name Khamal Micheal Braud, has reportedly been arrested and charged with murder. He was among six people who were charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting at a gas station in Decatur, Georgia. 

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the six men were arrested and charged on Saturday night after a man was killed at the gas station. The victim was in his mid-40s. He was shot at the Chevron station on 2450 Candler Road at around 9 PM.

According to the report, the victim and the suspects were seen arguing before the shooting. The suspects are De’Vonti King, 19; Thavian Ford, 46; Bryan Jones, 26; Deavin Baker, 31; Darreun Dodson, 20; and Khamal Braud, 25. Dodson reportedly faces additional charges for a violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act and an aggravated assault charge. 

Yung Mal and the other suspects are reportedly being held at DeKalb County Jail.

The rapper is best known for formerly being signed to Gucci Mane and 1017. He recently released his latest mixtape 1.5 Way Or No Way in May. His most popular songs include “GodZilla” and “Walkin” with Pooh Shiesty.

Andre 3000 has achieved a rare accomplishment, seldom experienced by the average mortal man. Somehow, after enjoying a run in one of hip-hop’s most legendary groups of all time — OutKast, who certainly needs no introduction — the esteemed lyricist known as Three Stacks has transcended humanity altogether.

In his place stands a mystical figure of sorts, one who appears content with traveling the land with flute in hand and mingling with whoever is lucky enough to cross his path. As it happens, an Andre sighting has become such a rare event that it tends to make headlines whenever it occurs, and one fan recently shared her own experience meeting the OutKast lyricist out in the wild.

“Coolest thing ever tonight!” reads the IG post, as shared by the account @lil.summy and reposted by DJ Akademiks. “I went to an open mic event at a park and saw someone with a unique looking double flute. I commented on how cool it looked and chatted with this super nice, chill dude for a minute before going to sit in the grass.”

“It wasn’t until after I’d sat that someone whispered to me “you know who that is right?” It was Andre 3000!!!” the post continues. “He stayed and hung out for the entire show and cheered for every person who performed. Was really hoping to get to hear him play, but his humbleness only made me love him even more. What a sweet dude!”

It’s certainly wholesome to see Andre continue to bring joy to people, and though it’s unlikely we’ll ever see that long-coveted solo album, it’s clear that Three Stacks will never stop making music — one flute loop at a time. The Yeezy x Gap collection has been rolling out slowly but surely. Following the announcement of Kanye West’s ten-year deal with Gap, the clothing brand has officially launched the second piece from the Yeezy x Gap drop: the Round Jacket in black.

Kanye was recently spotted wearing the piece during Paris Fashion Week, sitting in the front row at the Balenciaga show with Lil Baby, James Harden, and more. Made of 100% cotton poplin with matte rubberized PU coating, the black Round Jacket will be made available for pre-order in Japan, Europe, and the U.K. today. It hits the Yeezy x Gap site at 10 AM local time.

This release follows that of the similar blue Round Jacket, which sold out almost instantly on Kanye’s birthday last month. The new piece will only be shipped out in the winter, so you’ll be sure to receive this by the time the weather cools down.

So far, there is no word on when the rest of the collection will be rolling out. However, with the hype surrounding these first two drops, it’s clear that Yeezy x Gap will be another successful venture for Kanye, who has transitioned seamlessly into becoming one of the heavy hitters in fashion in the last decade.

According to DJ Akademiks, rapper Lil Durk’s home in Atlanta reportedly had a heavy police presence on Sunday morning. The hip-hop blogger said on his live stream that the police were out in full force at Durk’s crib because of a reported shooting, and they possibly went inside his house to search him for illegal firearms. 

This news has not been confirmed and right now, DJ Akademiks is the only source coming through with it. He says that police were responding to a possible shooting at Durk’s home, which is located inside a gated community. Because of how protected the area is, Akademiks suggested that Durk could have been the victim.

Since Sunday, Durk has been active on social media, posting ten hours ago most recently. Hopefully, this story has no merit and everything is a-okay with the rapper. Considering all that he’s been through this year, he doesn’t need any other trauma in his life.
