Lil Nas X Gets Diamond Nails And Opal Grills For His Birthday

On Friday, “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” rapper Lil Nas X turned 22, and he had plenty to celebrate. Despite the haters trying to bring him down, his newest single hit no.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, and there’s no doubt he’s raking in the cash. To celebrate another year around the sun as well as all of his recent accomplishments, Lil Nas X adorned himself with some stylish diamond nails and opal grills, which he showed off on his Instagram and Twitter.

Lil Nas X has certainly made a lot of headlines this week, but not always for positive reasons. On Monday, “Whole Lotta Choppas” rapper Sada Baby wished death on Lil Nas in a disturbing since-deleted Instagram post prior to DMX’s passing, where he said, “Lord we said Nas X, not DMX.” The rapper has a history of homophobic comments, so his post wasn’t exactly surprising. Lil Nas X responded, of course, by trolling, Tweeting,This is so f*cked up omg. Everyone stream the number 1 smash hit Montero (Call Me By Your Name) out now on all platforms!”

Between the trolling, his Nike “satan shoes,” his new video game that features him twerking, and all of the other crazy things he’s done to promote his new single, it’s clear that Lil Nas X doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks. The confident 22-year-old is seemingly going to continue doing whatever he wants, no matter what anybody has to say about it.

DMX To Be Honored In Universal Hip Hop Museum

DMX’s recent passing sent shockwaves through the hip hop community and listeners alike. After previously reported as being in a vegetative state after an overdose a week ago (April 3), the rap legend later succumbed to his condition on Friday. With such an influential career, tributes to X have been pouring in from all sides. The Mayor of Yonkers revealed plans to honor the late rapper with a memorial in his hometown.

In addition to this tribute, the icon is set to be honored in a substantial way at the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Construction for the Bronx museum is currently underway and its chief curator confirmed contributions from the late rapper will surely be included when it opens.

The museum plans to create a collection and archive that DMX will be included in that properly recognizes his contributions to the rap landscape. Chief Curator Paradise Gray raved about the later rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons.

“If Tupac was the heart of hip-hop, DMX was the soul. DMX was that realness, that grittiness, he didn’t create the grittiness of DMX to rap — that’s who he was,” said Gray.

The Universal Hip Hop Museum was first announced back in 2017 when the location was selected for the massive archival center. In 2019, the state of New York contributed $3.5 million to the construction of the museum. It’s expected to open in 2023.

Black Rob Sent Condolences To DMX From A Hospital Despite His Concerning Condition

On Friday morning, DMX’s family gave official word that the rapper unfortunately passed away from a drug overdose and heart attack. The music world was quick to pour out love and condolences in an array of messages posted all over social media. One of them came late Friday night from former Bad Boy rapper Black Rob, who honored the late rapper with a video. But it’s where the video was filmed that has hip-hop fans extremely concerned.

In the video, Black Rob can be seen struggling to talk as he lays in frail condition in a hospital. “What’s goin’ on. I don’t know what the pain is, the pain is crazy man,” he says. “It’s helping me out though, but it’s making me realize I got a lot to go on.” He was then asked about DMX. “I feel everything about X,” he replied. “X was positive. Big love to X man.”

There’s no word at the moment on why Black Rob has been hospitalized. Back in 2015, the rapper revealed that he suffered a mild stroke caused by high blood pressure during an interview on Sway In The Morning. Luckily, he made a full recovery and committed to changing his diet, exercising, and abstaining from alcohol.

Kerry Washington Retracts Controversial Tweet About DMX & Prince Philip

By the very design of the platform, Twitter ends up hosting the opinions of celebrities who spoke out with good intentions. Cher recently came under fire for suggesting that if she had witnessed the killing of George Floyd, things may have gone differently. While good-natured in her intention, it was her word choice that landed her in hot water. Kerry Washington is the latest to accidentally put her foot in her mouth on the platform.

Washington is the latest to be torn apart by social media users. In a since-deleted tweet, the Scandal actress suggested that DMX and Prince Philip, who both recently passed, were communicating together in the afterlife.

She wrote, “Anybody else wondering what DMX and His Royal Highness Prince Phillip are chatting about together at the pearly gates? My love to both their families. May they both Rest in Peace.”

The reaction that followed from social media users was as expected. At the time of the tweet’s deletion, it had reached around 7,500 quote tweets compared to 400 retweets and 3,500 likes.

One user put it, “DMX and Prince Phillip going to two very different places…don’t lump in DMX with a white supremacist pls queen.” Anothe reasoned, “The assumption that DMX and that white man are going to the same place…now miss washington please.”

Judging by the swift delete of the tweet, it seems Kerry Washington got the point. What’s your take?

Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Brand Worth $1.6 Billion, Triple What Forbes Estimated

It looks like Kim Kardashian’s pockets are actually much deeper than anyone expected, especially Forbes. It was widely understood until this week that Kylie Jenner was the richest of the Kardashian-Jenner family, as the beauty mogul owns her own wildly successful Kylie Skin and Kylie Cosmetics brands. However, according to Kim Kardashian, her shapewear line SKIMS has actually made her the richest, being valued at $1.6 billion.

Forbes recently estimated that SKIMS was worth a mere $500 million, which put Kim’s net worth as a whole at $1 billion. However, since she has confirmed that the number is more than triple what was originally thought, this changes the dynamic and makes her net worth much higher than previously thought. Kim credits the success of the company to a huge influx of $154 million in funding, which allowed her to expand the line and become even more successful.

Kylie, who was considered the richest in the family for a few years, is not even part of the $1 billion net worth club anymore. Forbes has now estimated that she has a net worth of roughly $700 million, which is less than half of older sister Kim. Kim told TMZ this week that she fully expects all of her siblings to reach billionaire status soon, though, and perhaps even some of their kids in the future.
