Moneybagg Yo Names The Two Biggest Albums Of The Year

We’re already over the year’s halfway point, and discussion surrounding the album of the year has already begun to heat up. We’ve already seen several strong contenders emerge, with strong releases from J. Cole, Tyler, The Creator, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Moneybagg Yo, Pooh Shiesty, Polo G, Lloyd Banks, and many more.

Now, Moneybagg Yo has offered up his own assessment of the year thus far, taking to Twitter to highlight the two biggest albums of the year. Like any good rapper, he made sure to stand proudly behind his work, the acclaimed A Gangsta’s Pain.

Released in April, the project features guest appearances from Polo G, Future, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko, and more. In fact, a report from earlier this month confirmed that of all the albums released in 2021, Moneybagg Yo’s Gangsta’s Pain is the highest-selling rap album.

He also threw his support behind Pooh Shiesty’s Shiesty Season, which spawned the hard-hitting anthem “Back In Blood.” Though Pooh Shiesty currently sits incarcerated, the momentum of “Back In Blood” propelled the 1017 signee to new career heights, bringing no shortage of new eyes onto his studio debut. Clearly, Shiesty Season left an impression on Moneybagg Yo, who made sure to give his fellow Memphis representative a shout-out on Twitter.

“Can’t believe me & @pooh_shiesty made the 2 biggest albums this year,” he reflects. “#FreeDetMan #Memphis.” While that’s not to say he means the best, it’s certainly implied — do you think Moneybagg Yo’s confident assessment has merit?

Luka Doncic Delivers Monstrous 48-Point Performance In Olympics Debut

Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the entire NBA and he’s only three seasons in. Of course, Doncic still has a long way to go before he can be declared the best player in the league, and he still has a lot to prove when it comes to the postseason. Despite this, fans are aware of just how special Luka is, and on the international stage, Doncic is proving himself to be an elite-level performer. After all, he has made it clear that he’d rather win Olympic Gold than an NBA title.

Doncic’s Slovenia is playing men’s basketball in the Olympics for the very first time, and in their first game against Argentina, Luka led them to a massive 118-110 victory. Argentina is one of the favorites in this tournament and Slovenia was going to prove to be a tough test especially since Doncic is the only star player on the Slovenia roster.

In the end, Doncic rose to the occasion in epic fashion as he scored an unbelievable 48 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in his Olympics debut. With the win, Slovenia is now looking like real contenders for a medal, and if Luka is able to rise to this occasion every single game, then we could be in for one of the greatest individual runs in Olympic basketball history.

If you want to see some of Luka’s magic from last night, you can check out some of the highlights and reactions to his performance, below.

Lil Uzi Vert Debuts New “Pink Tape” Music At Rolling Loud

There were some technical difficulties during Lil Uzi Vert’s set, but they dissipated quickly so fans at home could also enjoy his performance. The rapper performed at Rolling Loud on Sunday night but the official YouTube live stream stopped right when he was supposed to get on stage. The festival’s organizers explained that Roc Nation had blocked them from streaming Lil Uzi’s performance (much like they did in 2019), but after a few minutes, the stream was restored. During the time the cameras were off, HNHH had you covered, going live during Lil Uzi’s set from our Instagram.

Perhaps the reason why Roc Nation wanted to keep his show on the hush-hush was because of his plan to premiere new music. The Philadelphia-born rapper has been teasing his upcoming new project The Pink Tape for a few weeks and last night, fans got the first taste of the new music, through the debut of Uzi’s unreleased song, tentatively titled “Racks Up.”

“Do y’all wanna hear some new shit off The Pink Tape?” asked Lil Uzi to the crowd last night, while the stream was shut down by Roc Nation. He then proceeded to single out one section of the crowd, asking them to turn all the way up before playing the song, which had fans excited.

Listen to the new song below and let us know what you think. Are you looking forward to the release of The Pink Tape?

In other Uzi news, the artist recently debuted his new tongue tattoo, also getting his multi-million-dollar diamond re-inserted into his forehead this weekend. Check that out here.
