This may be big news in the entertainment industry, but many Whitney Houston fans aren’t excited about the idea. This week, it was shared that one of the late icon’s most iconic films would undergo a remake, but not everyone believes it is necessary. We have watched as Hollywood continues with its rebooting, reviving, and remaking of classics, from the small to the silver screen. This time, The Bodyguard will be reimagined and we have Warner Bros. at the helm.

The Bodyguard is a 1992 film starring Whitney Houston as an international superstar singer who is being threatened by a stalker. Kevin Costner portrays her bodyguard who is determined to keep her safe, but alas, they fall in love in the process.

It is unclear if this remake will feature a new set of characters that fall along with the same storyline or if this will somehow be connected to the original, but fans have had quite a bit to say. Houston helped make The Bodyguard‘s soundtrack one of the greatest in history, and with that reputation, it will be difficult to follow in its footsteps.

Deadline reports: “Matthew López, the Tony-nominated playwright of The Inheritance, has been hired to write” the script. “Lawrence Kasdan of Kasdan Pictures, and Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback are producing the new film.”

Amidst a messy divorce, after calling it quits to eighteen years of marriage to Kenya Duke, comedian Gary Owen still hasn’t lost his sense of humor, clearly. The BET star, and father of three children, joked on Instagram about co-parenting twin sisters with fellow comedian Tiffany Haddish.  

In the post, Owen and Haddish are seen holding twin girls respectively, complete with matching outfits and bows. Owen proceeded to joke about sharing parental responsibilities with Haddish’s partner, Common, writing, “I have a huge announcement…. So happy to share with you guys me & @tiffanyhaddish are the proud parents of twin girls!!!! We have kept this a secret for a long time. @common sorry you had to find out this way. But love is love & let’s work together to show my girls how men can work together to coparent. #DoinWhatIDo #Twins #SheReady.”

Haddish and Common confirmed their relationship in July 2020, having met on the set of The Kitchen. The two have been going steady for over a year, with the comedian recently revealing her desire to adopt children. Haddish, who grew up in the foster care system, said she had finished up the parenting courses necessary to begin the adoption process. 

While Haddish may be #ready to become a Mom, we wonder how Common feels about being Dads with Owen. Or, even, how these kids feel about being stolen from their actual parents? No word yet on who the children belong to.

They received a setback yesterday, but things are looking up for T.I. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris. We previously reported on Sabrina Peterson, the former friend of the couple who launched their current legal troubles, receiving a victory in court. After stating that T.I. held a gun on her, Peterson later sued the couple, along with their friend, Shekinah Jo.

Peterson alleged that her reputation was damaged due to the comments the trio were saying about her, so she sued them for defamation. T.I. and Tiny’s legal team attempted to have the lawsuit tossed, but a judge recently denied their request.

Meanwhile, T.I. and Tiny received a bit of good news when they reportedly learned that one of the cases against them would not be moving forward. TMZ reported that prosecutors opted “not to charge the couple because the case falls outside the statute of limitations.” The outlet stated that the accuser came forward with their accusations earlier this year and alleged that she was sexually assaulted in 2005 after meeting the couple in a nightclub.

This is the second case to fall outside of the statute of limitations; the first was the Las Vegas case where an accuser alleged that she was both “drugged and sexually assaulted in 2010.”

Saquon Barkley has proven himself to be one of the premier running backs in the NFL and while he has dealt with his fair share of injuries, there is no doubt that New York Giants fans love him. He is one of those players that can turn a game on its head, and fans can’t wait to see what he is able to do this season. As for his endorsements, Barkley is currently with Nike where he has now been given the freedom to make his own colorways of already-established shoes.

For instance, Barkley has just created his very own colorway of the Nike Air Trainer 3. In the images below, you can see that Barkley chose to cover this shoe in beige while giving it a blue Nike swoosh and a pink and white midsole. All of these elements come together to create a truly dope and colorful model that will appeal to all of the Air Trainer fans out there.

She is a singer whose career has spanned decades, so it comes as a surprise that JoJo struggles to receive invites to major events. It has been a busy few weeks for celebrities as they’ve taken to New York Fashion Week, the Met Gala, and the MTV Video Music Awards, and we’ve seen our timelines flooding with photos and updates from various events.

From current hitmakers to veterans to icons, red carpets were being taken over by entertainers from all sides of the industry, however, JoJo lamented on TikTok about not being asked to attend.

“Me watching yet another award show season go by and once again not being invited,” she wrote over a video of herself. “Whatever – I’m [about] to get my period – let me be in my feels.” She added a few more thoughts in the caption to the clip.

“I never talk about s*** like this nor do I think I deserve anything over anyone else – but I think I’ve lost any tiny bit of chill I have remaining,” she added. Her fans have rallied around her and hope that the next award season will be more lucrative.

Meanwhile, JoJo is gearing up for the release of her next project, Trying Not to Think About It, which arrives on October 1.

One of the greatest shoes of all time is the Nike Dunk Low and thankfully for sneakerheads, the shoe is seeing a massive resurgence in 2021. After being dormant for a few years, the Nike Dunk Low is back and we could not be happier about it. All throughout the summer, this shoe has seen a massive amount of colorways and this hype will continue into the Winter with the “Ice” model that is pictured below.

As you can see in the photos unveiled by Nike, the sneaker has a silver base while all of the overlays are white velvet. The velvet fits the winter theme to perfection and to make things even better, there are some sleds near the back heel to really give off that Christmas look. This is one of the more unique Nike Dunk Lows we have seen so far and we’re sure it will be a big hit throughout the colder months.

One of the busiest teams in NBA free agency this year was the Los Angeles Lakers. The team came into the offseason needing an overhaul and that’s exactly what they did as they traded for Russell Westbrook and signed various skilled free agents that will serve as solid role players for the entire season. With that being said, the Lakers have been looking for their 15th roster spot as they still need to fill out the team.

Finding the player to take on this role is always a challenge, especially if you are dealing with cap issues. The Lakers are already teetering at the edge and they needed someone who could come at a small cost.

According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Lakers have found that guy as they have signed Cam Oliver to an exhibit 10 contract. The undrafted 25-year-old got to play four games with the Houston Rockets last season and he has been looking for NBA work ever since. While he might not be guaranteed a spot on the Lakers, there is no doubt that he’s a player who could find himself a bench role if he impresses in training camp and preseason.

The Lakers and the rest of the league will be engaging in preseason matchups in just a couple of weeks, which is great news for basketball fans who have been yearning for some competition.

Nikita Dragun, a YouTuber and rapper who identifies as a trans woman, has been causing a lot of uproar on social media over the past 24 hours with her teaser video for her new song, titled “D.I.C.K.” Her use of other celebrities’ likenesses — like Asian Doll’s, for example — has led to heated back-and-forths online and scrutiny on Twitter.

One of the most sensational and heavily criticized moments in Nikita Dragun’s video, however, was when the rising artist appeared to out Tyga, who Blac Chyna recently claimed, “loves trans.” Hours later, Tyga has decided to publicly address the situation.

In response to the clip from Nikita Dragun’s video, Tyga calmly and respectfully addressed her allegations, revealing that they have previously worked together.

“My company shot and directed a music video for her a while back that never dropped .Not sure why she added my likeness to this,” Tyga explained before offering a token of wisdom to his followers. “Ladies and gentlemen clout kills.”

In response to Tyga’s tweets and Nikita Dragun’s decision to include those screenshots in her promotional video, many fans have been extremely critical of her actions. One fan argued that she should have made a better song instead of stooping down to this level, and Jacen Bowman, a makeup artist on HBO Max’s Legendary, also called her out for insinuating Tyga’s sexual preferences.
