Jacksonville rapper SpotemGottem was reportedly the victim of a drive-by shooting on Friday morning but thankfully, according to TMZ, he is expected to make a full recovery. The 19-year-old’s condition was previously described as “critical.”
The “Beat Box” rapper is reportedly recovering at a Florida hospital. The shooting incident took place at approximately 3 AM on Friday morning after he was leaving the studio. The driver’s side of the car was reportedly shot up at least twenty-two times. The driver was shot in his hip and SpotemGottem suffered gunshot wounds to both of his legs. They were both transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Police have not identified the shooter, but they are investigating and asking anybody with knowledge of the situation to give them a call.
Spotem’s manager reportedly told TMZ that the rapper was in the passenger’s seat and that the shooter used a semi-automatic weapon.
As more information comes out regarding the rapper’s condition, we will keep you posted. We previously reached out to a representative at SpotemGottem’s label, but we have yet to hear back.
This comes on the same day of WizDaWizard’s reported death. The Sniper Gang affiliate was close with Kodak Black, and he was reportedly shot and killed in Florida last night. Read more about that story here.
If you’ve been online lately, chances are high that you’ve seen at least some of the discourse surrounding Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend’s testicles.
Earlier this week, Minaj told her followers via Twitter that she wouldn’t be attending this year’s MET Gala. The mother of one also shared that she has yet to receive her COVID-19 vaccine because of an acquaintance’s experience.
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine because his friend got it & became impotent,” she wrote.
“His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with your decision, not bullied.”
The tweet has since gone viral, earning Minaj plenty of of flack from nearly every corner of the internet.
The latest star to throw shade at the “Super Bass” singer is none other than Azealia Banks, who posted a rant on her Instagram story earlier today.
“For as many Black women that have died or have had to have their legs amputated because of black market butt injections…Why do we not have Nicki Minaj questioning that?”
She then went on to call the mother of one out for her lyrics promoting the use of drugs like cocaine and Percocets, which she feels is contradictory to Minaj’s anti-vax status.
“You want to encourage your fans to snort fentanyl laced cocaine, rather than get a vaccine?” Banks inquired.
“I’ve never witnessed this woman be so f*cking stupid, and so f*cking selfish…Think about the children who are now orphans because their parents caught COVID and died before the vaccine came out.”
Banks then went on to tell Minaj to “shut up,” and insinuated that the reason she didn’t attend the MET Gala is because designer’s wouldn’t want to dress someone who’s married to a registered sex offender.

On Lil Nas X’s new album Montero, he recruited a handful of collaborators, including Jack Harlow, Doja Cat, Elton John, Megan Thee Stallion, and Miley Cyrus (but not Drake and Nicki Minaj). Now he’s apparently fielding requests for featured guests on his next album, because he responded to a collaboration-seeking message from a legendary four-piece: the Teletubbies.
The twitter account for Teletubbies shared mock-ups of the Montero cover art but with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po replacing Lil Nas X. Along with the images, the characters put in a request to link up with Lil Nas X, asking, “.@LilNasX can we get a feature on the next album?”
Lil Nas X is totally on board, as he responded with an idea of how he thinks their collaboration could work out: “alright bet! me and tinky winky on the hook, dipsy & po on the verses and we’ll let laa laa do the outro.”

While a potential collaboration with the Teletubbies is a fun and silly thing, it wouldn’t be the most surprising thing if Nas, who is always up for a good time, actually got together with the beloved children’s characters and made it happen. He did once visit Elmo’s talk show to cover “Elmo’s Song,” after all.

Last month, when Toronto rapper DijahSB sat down with HotNewHipHop, they chopped it up about everything from their last drop, Head Above the Waters, a Kid-Cudi co-sign, vulnerability and quitting their day job to work on music full-time.
Today, just a couple weeks since that conversation, DijahSB is back with their new project, Tasty Raps, Vol.1.
Tasty Raps, Vol. 1 is delicious. A six-track, 15 minute EP, Tasty Raps, Vol. 1 gives us everything we would expect from a DijahSB project. The vibes are immaculate, the production is a mix of old and new sounds and the way DijahSB floats on top of every instrumental ties it all together.
On Tasty Raps, Vol. 1‘s opening track “Earth Tone” DijahSB sets the tone early, rapping “I’ve never asked for no handouts, I’ve always done this sh*t dolo,” and flows seamlessly through the minute-and-a-half track dealing with their struggles with depression and times in dark places and like they said in that first line, they did that sh*t dolo for the first three tracks on Tasty Raps, Vol. 1.
Attacking the first three tracks with no features, DijahSB skates from “Earth Tone” to the jazzier, groovier “New Balance” and settles into the title track “Tasty Raps” which finds slower flows but the same lyrical poignancy we’re used to.
Mick Jenkins makes an appearance on the fifth track, “Here to Dance” and both Harrison and Ray HMND race DijahSB to the finish line on the EP’s final two tracks, “New Harrison Again” and “The Greatest.”
The perfect length to accompany you on a walk or quick drive, Tasty Raps, Vol. 1 is the type of project that gives you everything you need. The EP builds a world for itself and transports you there with a variety in sounds, production that will get your shoulders moving and bars that make you think about something.

Florida rapper WizDaWizard was reportedly found dead this week following a shooting in Hallandale Beach. The rapper worked extensively with Sniper Gang, and he was close with Kodak Black.
According to a report by WSVN, WizDaWizard’s body was found by a dog walker on Friday morning at around 6:30 AM. There were no reports of gunshots or a struggle in the area. The name of the victim was not immediately reported, but he was described as “well-known” in the neighborhood.
Rappers and media personalities have been sharing their thoughts and prayers for WizDaWizard’s family as more information comes out regarding his reported death. We will continue to keep you updated as more news comes in.
This news comes on the same day that Jacksonville rapper SpotemGottem was targeted in a drive-by shooting. The rapper is reportedly in critical condition after being shot five times. He was leaving the studio late on Friday morning when a driver pulled to the passenger’s side, where Spotem was seated, and opened fire with a semi-automatic gun. It was described as a road rage incident.
Kodak Black has not commented on the reported death of his artist WizDaWizard. We will keep an eye on his social media pages and update this post as necessary.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is one of the greatest basketball players of all time and he is consistently respected as such. The NBA legend has the record for the most points scored in a career, although LeBron James is fast approaching as he is just 3,020 points behind. It could take LeBron a couple of more seasons before he reaches the record, and fans are excited to see it happen.
Understandably, one might assume that Kareem would see things differently. You never want to see your records get broken, especially by the younger generations. Despite this, Kareem takes a different approach to his record. While speaking to Marc Stein, the Lakers legend noted that he is looking forward to LeBron’s next achievement and that he even hopes he’s there to witness it.
“I’m excited to see it happen. I don’t see records as personal accomplishments, but more as human achievements,” Kareem said. “If one person can do something that’s never been done, that means we all have a shot at doing it. It’s a source of hope and inspiration. Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile back in 1954. Since then, not only have 1,400 runners beaten that time, but the new record is 17 seconds less. We all win when a record is broken and if LeBron breaks mine, I will be right there to cheer him on.”

Kanye West’s obsession with dad shoes truly began in 2017 as he launched the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 in the “Wave Runner” colorway. Eventually, this sneaker became a massive success and to this day, it is still getting new colorways. In the aftermath of this release, Kanye came up with the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2, which was a doubling down of his original dad shoe design. Since that time, the 700 V2 has received a whole fleet of new models and in 2021, it will get another.
This new offering is being dubbed “Mauve” and it is a lot like the “Mauve” that we saw on the original 700. This colorway is filled with neutral tones that appear to be brown on the surface, although there are some hints of purple throughout that give the shoe its name. Overall, it is a colorway that is both clean and unique, which should be enough for it to be a success on the sneaker market.
