Aminé Gets Experimental On His Latest Full-Length, “TWOPOINTFIVE”

In 2018, Aminé was roughly a year removed from his official debut album Good For You when he decided to treat his fans with a new project. The full-length effort, which was titled ONEPOINTFIVE, served as an in-between-albums type of project, and in its trailer, Aminé even made fun of the vague labels that projects are often given.

“Mixtapes are albums, and albums are mixtapes,” the Portland rapper joked during the teaser trailer. “Niggas call they albums mixtapes. Cuz if it flops, it’s a EP.”

Three years later, Aminé has returned with another ambiguous EPLPMixtapeAlbum, and this time around, the project’s title is TWOPOINTFIVE.

Like ONEPOINTFIVETWOPOINTFIVE finds the 2017 XXL Freshman trying new flows and experimenting with new styles, yet unlike the original, Aminé takes care of business without any guest features. The result is an encapsulating sonic effort that knows no bounds, and once again the hitmaker behind songs like “Caroline,” “Riri,” “REEL IT IN,” and “Compensating” has exemplified his ability to craft the joyously peculiar and undoubtedly infectious records.

“The POINTFIVE projects are the breaks in between albums where I give myself the freedom to make music without expectations, focusing instead of spontaneity and the best of what comes from stream of conscious creation, which is why they arrive unexpectedly without a long rollout,” Aminé says when explaining the premise of TWOPOINTFIVE. “It’s an opportunity to create for my day one fans the way I used to in my bedroom. Thanks for listening.”

Check out Aminé’s experimental follow-up to 2020’s Limbo below, and let us know in the comments if you’re feeling the Portland artist’s new style on TWOPOINTFIVE.

On Friday (November 5), Snoop dropped off “Murder Music,” a hard-hitting track that features bars from Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, and Busta Rhymes. Fans were thrilled to hear this team of respected emcees together on a track and recently, Snoop spoke about what else people can expect from the record.

French Montana Enlists Fivio Foreign For Drill-Heavy “Panicking”

There was a little animosity between these two back in April 2020 but it looks like all of the negativity is a thing of the past. It was back then that Fivio had a bit of an issue with French dipping into the Brooklyn Drill sound without paying respect, but now the pair of rappers are collaborating on “Panicking” with a production pulled from the heart of the genre.

Next week, the world is set to receive They Got Amnesia, French Montana’s fourth studio album. He has been rolling out the record by reminding Hip Hop and Rap fans that he is a force to be reckoned with, and his supporters have gone to battle against online naysayers. French and Fivio’s “Panicking” comes with a visual that finds both men enjoying the luxuries of being waited on by half-naked women.

City Girls Stay Ready On “Scared” Single From “Bruised Soundtrack”

Halle Berry’s directorial debut will arrive this month and with it comes a star-studded soundtrack. Berry not only directed but also starred in Bruised, a film about a disgraced fighter, and for the soundtrack, she called on Cardi B to help act as executive producer. Each of the women featured on the tracklist was reportedly hand-selected by Berry and Cardi, and it’s clear they were holding tight to a theme.

“I can’t wait to show it,” Berry told Variety. “I have to tell you, one of the things I’m most excited about is the title song that H.E.R. sang… and she killed it. So I can’t wait to share with everyone and am super excited.”

To kick things off, the first single from the soundtrack is “Scared” by City Girls. Other artists on the tracklist include Latto, H.E.R., Saweetie, Flo Milli, and Cardi B. Bruised will hit theaters on November 19 before being offered on Netflix one week later. Stream “Scared” and let us know what you think.

NLE Choppa And Polo G Keep Things ‘Jumpin’ During A Bank Robbery In Their New Video

NLE Choppa has done a lot in his life as a young rapper, and in his latest video, he shows viewers how to successfully complete a bank heist and escape the grasp of police officers. It’s all captured in his new video for “Jumpin” which features a guest verse from Polo G as well as assistance from the Chicago rapper who steps in for a strong verse on the track in addition to fulfilling his role on the bank robbery team. NLE Choppa breaks the visual down into six parts with each showing the required tasks that he and his team need to fulfill in order to successfully commit the crime.

“Jumpin” comes after NLE Choppa delivered his “Mmm Hmm” song and video. In the visual, he delivers some lavish gifts to some select friends after flying them out to a tropical island. The pair of tracks also come after he claimed he would retire to become a “full-time herbalist.” As for Polo G, the track is his latest in a string of recent guest verses as he previously teamed up with Burna Boy for “Want It All.” He also joined Eminem, Skylar Grey, and Mozzy on “Last One Standing.”

Silk Sonic’s Spiteful ‘Smokin’ Out The Window’ Dismisses An Ungrateful Ex

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak began 2021 with the news that they’d joined forces as Silk Sonic for a brand new album. For quite some time, An Evening With Silk Sonic lacked a release date, but towards the end of the summer, they revealed the project was set to arrive at the top of next year. Thankfully, they changed their minds and pushed it up to November 12, giving us just one week until An Evening With Silk Sonic. Before that album is available for the world to hear, Bruno and .Paak return with a third and seemingly final single for us to enjoy with “Smokin’ Out The Window.”

The track is filled with funk and plenty of grooves, just like their previous two singles, but this time around the singers are filled with spite towards a former lover that walked out of them. “Smokin’ Out The Window” finds Bruno and .Paak venting about their former lovers’ actions and their disbelief towards being played in the name of love.

“Smokin’ Out The Window” comes after Silk Sonic began the road towards their new album with “Leave The Door Open,” their chart-topping and award-winning single. They returned months later with “Skate,” a fun single that brought their funk to a warm and tropic climate.

You can listen to “Smokin’ Out The Window” in the video above.

An Evening With Silk Sonic is out 11/12 via Atlantic Records. You can pre-save it here.

Silk Sonic Sings About The Ladies Stressing Them Out On “Smokin Out The Window”

Not only will we be receiving French Montana’s fourth studio album They Got Amnesia next week, but Silk Sonic will finally be releasing their debut effort. When Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars first introduced their supergroup to the world, fans knew they were going to create magic. The ’70’s-inspired theme was also well-received as they were able to take from the past while also keeping a modern artistic take.

Ahead of next week’s An Evening with Silk Sonic album’s arrival, they have delivered “Smokin Out the Window,” a single that also is lucky to have its own visual. The clip is stylized like a vintage television performance and as for the song itself, it sounds as if the fellas are dealing with women whose demands are stressing them out.

Watch Silk Sonic’s smooth performance of “Smokin Out the Window” and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

Must’ve spent thirty-five, forty-five thousand up in Tiffany’s (Oh, no)

Summer Walker And SZA List Their Regrets Towards An Unappreciative Partner On ‘No Love’

After a two-year wait that felt much longer, Summer Walker has finally delivered her sophomore album Still Over It. Based on the title, it’s clear that the new project delivers updates on Summer’s rollercoaster love life and her fed-up feelings with it. Upon hearing the title, fans were immediately excited that it would serve as a new chapter connected to her extremely successful debut album Over It. Of the many tracks that listeners are excited to hear, “No Love,” Summer’s collaboration with SZA is one many people can’t wait to press play on.

The song sees both singers listing their regrets towards an unappreciative ex. They both admit that if they received a do-over, they’d make sure to be more protective of their hearts with this person. In addition to an appearance from SZA, Summer Walker also recruited Ari Lennox, Lil Durk, City Girls’ JT, Omarion, Pharrell Williams, Ciara, and Cardi B to offer their own contributions to her debut album. Still Over It was only preceded by one single, “Ex For A Reason” with JT, meaning that listeners have plenty of new music to enjoy of the project.

In a message to Apple Music, Summer Walker shared what she hopes listeners take away from the new album. “Take this opportunity to learn from my mistakes,” she wrote in an exclusive message to the streaming platform. “You don’t have to guess if something is love. Love is shown through actions. Stop making excuses for people who don’t show up for you. Don’t ignore the red flags. And don’t think you have to stay somewhere ’cause you can’t find better — you can and you will.” Lastly, she added, “Don’t settle for less — you don’t deserve it and neither does your family.”

Still Over It is out now via LVRN/Interscope. Get it here.

Post Malone And The Weeknd Couldn’t Care Less About Their Ex’s Feelings On ‘One Right Now’

Post Malone and The Weeknd both have albums in the works that their respective fan bases are waiting patiently for. Malone’s upcoming effort is a follow-up to his 2018 chart-topping album Hollywood’s Bleeding while The Weeknd’s own is one that will mark a quick return from last year’s After Hours. As the wait continues for both projects, Posty and The Weeknd join forces for their new song, “One Right Now.” The track flaunts off their nonchalant sides as they brush off their ex’s feelings and show how they’ve moved on to better.

The track marks Post Malone’s second release of the year after he dropped “Motley Crew” earlier this year. It came with a racetrack-themed video that saw him burning rubber and turning up with fellow musicians like Big Sean, Ty Dolla Sign, French Montana, Tyga, and more. Back in April, Post’s manager Dre London hinted that the singer may have two projects on the way for fans. “This that smile while on FaceTime with @postmalone agreeing that the world deserves 2 Posty projects out this year!” London wrote in the caption of an April 2021 Instagram post. “Discussing dates to drop the 1st one sooner than u think! I won’t tell u the title name just yet maybe next week.” We’ve yet to receive word on the upcoming releases.

As for The Weeknd, his upcoming sixth album is very close to arriving. “Album is complete,” he said during an October 4 episode of his Apple Music radio show Memento Mori. “Only thing missing is a couple characters that are key to the narrative. Some people that are near and dear to me, some people that inspired my life as a child, and some that inspire me now. More to come in the following months.”

You can listen to the new song in the video above.
