Post Malone And The Weeknd Face Off In A Bloody Shootout In Their ‘One Right Now’ Video

Post Malone and The Weeknd have perhaps been the two most successful artists on the charts over the past few years, and they recently joined forces for a new single, “One Right Now.” Their collaboration is doing well, too, as it just debuted at No. 6 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song wasn’t originally released with a video to accompany it, but now they’ve gone ahead and given the song a proper visual.

The clip starts with The Weeknd, arm in a sling, entering Posty’s lair, guns blazing as he shoots a bunch of henchmen and throws a grenade to take care of that first wave. Meanwhile, Malone arms himself and also sends some bullets flying, into some Weeknd lookalikes. After more miscellaneous gunfire, the two meet up and face off, ending the video by each firing fatal shots into each other’s foreheads.

“One Right Now” is Malone’s first top-10 song in a couple years, as his previous one, the Ozzy Osbourne- and Travis Scott-featuring “Take What You Want,” dropped around this time in 2019. As for The Weeknd, his most recent top-10 was his Ye (fka Kanye West) and Lil Baby collab “Hurricane.”

Post Malone And The Weeknd Couldn’t Care Less About Their Ex’s Feelings On ‘One Right Now’

Post Malone and The Weeknd both have albums in the works that their respective fan bases are waiting patiently for. Malone’s upcoming effort is a follow-up to his 2018 chart-topping album Hollywood’s Bleeding while The Weeknd’s own is one that will mark a quick return from last year’s After Hours. As the wait continues for both projects, Posty and The Weeknd join forces for their new song, “One Right Now.” The track flaunts off their nonchalant sides as they brush off their ex’s feelings and show how they’ve moved on to better.

The track marks Post Malone’s second release of the year after he dropped “Motley Crew” earlier this year. It came with a racetrack-themed video that saw him burning rubber and turning up with fellow musicians like Big Sean, Ty Dolla Sign, French Montana, Tyga, and more. Back in April, Post’s manager Dre London hinted that the singer may have two projects on the way for fans. “This that smile while on FaceTime with @postmalone agreeing that the world deserves 2 Posty projects out this year!” London wrote in the caption of an April 2021 Instagram post. “Discussing dates to drop the 1st one sooner than u think! I won’t tell u the title name just yet maybe next week.” We’ve yet to receive word on the upcoming releases.

As for The Weeknd, his upcoming sixth album is very close to arriving. “Album is complete,” he said during an October 4 episode of his Apple Music radio show Memento Mori. “Only thing missing is a couple characters that are key to the narrative. Some people that are near and dear to me, some people that inspired my life as a child, and some that inspire me now. More to come in the following months.”

The Weeknd And Post Malone Are Linking Up For A New Song That’s Apparently Coming This Week

Over the past few years, The Weeknd and Post Malone have been two of the most dominant figures in music. In fact, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” became the song with the most weeks ever spent in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart last year, beating the previous record holder, Malone’s “Circles.” Now, the two industry titans are getting ready to team up on what is sure to be a hit.

Yesterday, they both shared a brief teaser of a new song. Dre London, Malone’s manager, also shared the clip and offered more info, revealing the track is called “One Right Now.” He wrote on Instagram, “What I couldn’t wait to tell the [world] This Friday!! I’m excited for u to finally here what I been talking about!! @postmalone & @theweeknd ‘One Right Now’ #DreVision in full effect!! #Shutdown Ting!!! Crazy Movie Video comes next week!!!”

If the song ends up being a hit, it will be Malone’s first in a while, relatively speaking. His last top-10 single was the Ozzy Osbourne- and Travis Scott-featuring “Take What You Want,” which peaked at No. 8 in 2019. Before that, it was the chart-topping “Circles.” As for The Weeknd, his latest single, “Take My Breath,” was successful, achieving a peak at No. 6.
