Summer Walker & JT Are Done With Games On “Ex For A Reason”

There was once a time when Summer Walker’s fans were concerned that she was throwing in the towel and retiring, but the singer has pushed forward with much success. Summer announced the rollout of her sophomore studio album Still Over It while outside of the BET Hip Hop Awards. Since that time, she has given a sneak peek as to what fans can expect, and those revelations include closing out the album with “Ciara’s Prayer” and a collaboration with JT.

Summer and JT’s single “Ex for a Reason” has officially arrived and fans are eating up the City Girls-R&B matchup. “‘Still over it’ is a story…. And every story has its beginning,” Summer mysteriously shared online. Fans are expecting for her to spin lyrics about her London On Da Track breakup as well as motherhood on her forthcoming album, and “Ex for a Reason” is a taste of what Summer has coming.

Stream “Ex for a Reason” and let us know what you think of this collaboration. Still Over It arrives on November 5.

Quotable Lyrics

Know I’m the type to go through my n*gga’s phone (What you know ’bout that?)
Sh*t be on my nerves when it keeps ringin’ back to back (Who the f*ck is that?)
F*ck a b*tch on stretchers is always the mindset I’m in (I’m in, oh, oh)
But an ex game is not the game I’m tryna play at all (Ooh)

Mac Miller’s 2014 “Faces” Mixtape Hits Streaming Platforms

It may not be a collection of new music from Mac Miller’s camp, but the arrival of this classic mixtape has fans excited. Faces was first released on Mother’s Day in 2014, but fans can now enjoy those Miller tunes on streaming platforms. Last month, in anticipation of Faces‘ re-release, a new music video for one of the project’s tracks, “Colors and Shapes,” was shared. At the time, director Sam Mason issued a statement about the posthumous visual.

“The track felt very visual to me—like it had its own world. This atmospheric nighttime place that was sometimes dangerous, sometimes comforting, then I saw a picture of [Mac Miller’s dog] Ralph and a story emerged,” said Mason. “To build it out I asked Malcolm’s family to send me bits and pieces from his childhood, scenes from the town where he grew up, objects, toys from his room—little pieces of his life that I extrapolated outwards and used to inspire the story. In the abstract, it’s meant to be a video about childhood—growing up as an artist and the highs and lows of that experience. It’s sort of a look at the emotional and difficult and perilous but noble path of an artist.”

We’re just as excited as you are to revisit this project, so stream Faces and take a walk down memory lane.

Lil Kim Call Nick Cannon “One Of My Best Friends,” Reveals He’s Her Manager

It seems obvious that hiking isn’t one of Lil Kim’s favorite pastimes. The legendary rapper was recently featured on Complex‘s Hiking with Rappers, and Kim joined King Keraun for a walk up the side of a mountain as they spoke about someone her most iconic moments. Lil Kim discussed her iconic red carpet looks that have set trends throughout her career, and she hilariously delivered commentary on why hiking isn’t on her to-do list.

One revelation that not many know about is apparently her close relationship with Nick Cannon.

“I just shot a movie with Nick Cannon. Nick Cannon, people don’t even know, he’s one of my best friends,” said Kim. “We’ve been best friends for years. Twenty, [nineteen,] whatever it was and we just shot a movie called Miracle Across 125th Street. So, it’s like the Friday of Christmas movies.”

King Keraun responded with, “So, Lil Kim the actor,” but she laughed it off and said she “did that movie for Nick.” She added that she does like being on the silver screen and added that Cannon has been trying to convince her to tackle more roles. “You know he’s my manager,” Kim said.

She also shared who would be on her hiking—or shopping—playlist, and those names included “of course, Drake” and Wizkid. Make sure to watch Lil Kim also laugh her way through a story about Gabrielle Union drinking her studio liquor below.

Anitta Calls On Saweetie For Break-Up Single “Faking Love”

After teasing the release of a new song with a surprise collaboration earlier this week, Anitta has delivered. The Brazilian Warner Music superstar has been storming the charts and raking in awards for years and she has returned with another collaboration. Last year, Anitta linked with Cardi B for their bilingual hit “Me Gusta,” and this time, she called on Saweetie to help her out on “Faking Love.”

The pair teamed up on the pop-entered jam after reportedly meeting each other at this year’s Met Gala. They shared a few selfies and the chance encounter has made for new music. “Faking Love” is all about a romance gone cold, and Saweetie and Anitta trade lyrics about ending the relationship and moving on.

Stream “Faking Love” and share your thoughts.

A medical scare has befallen a former president. News has been shared this evening (October 14) that President Bill Clinton has been admitted to the UCI Medical Center in Orange, California to receive treatment for an infection. His physicians have claimed that he is not being treated for any illness related to COVID-19.

According to reports, Dr. Alpesh Amin, the chair of medicine at UCI Medical Center, and Dr. Lisa Bardack, Clinton’s personal primary physician, have released a joint statement about Clinton’s condition.

“He was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids. He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring,” the statement reportedly reads. “After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is trending down and he is responding to antibiotics well. We hope to have him go home soon.”

The president was reportedly admitted earlier this week, and spokesman Angel Urena gave an update on how Clinton has been recovering. “He is on the mend, in good spirits, and is incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses, and staff providing him with excellent care,” said Urena.

Bridget Kelly Gets Slammed For Calling Eminem “The Token White Guy” In Super Bowl Show

When it was shared that Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige would be taking to the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage next year, Hip Hop fans exploded with excitement. It is a lineup that will surely make for one of the greatest halftime shows ever hosted, but on Thursday (October 14), comments made by Bridget Kelly regarding Eminem’s involvement caused havoc for the singer.

Kelly ruffled a few feathers when she said on her See, The Thing Is podcast on The Joe Budden Network that she did not care whether or not Eminem performed and dubbed him the “token white guy.”

“I love the idea of so much beautiful Black talent on this stage. This is the biggest stage in the country. This is the most-watched event,” said Kelly. Her co-host reminded Kelly that Eminem was also included in the lineup. “Either way, I would love to see it because it’s also, when are we ever gonna see Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar onstage together? I could do without Eminem. I don’t really care whether he’s there or not.”

“You know what I do love about Eminem being the token white guy on this? Usually, it’s the other way around,” she continued. “Usually, it’s a whole f*ckin’ lineup of white talent and then it’s like, let’s just throw a person of color in there so people don’t get upset. Let’s get all this top-tier Black talent and let’s throw somebody white on the bill just so we don’t piss anybody off.”

The comments infuriated Eminem stans who flooded Kelly’s mentions, and she attempted to check them over on Twitter.

“You bum ass bottom feeders need to get tf out my mentions defending Eminem,” she tweeted. “Nobody said he wasn’t a legend. They’ve never had an all Black halftime show, so yes, he is the token in this case. Go argue w/your mother about his impact, that was never up for debate. Losers [crying laughing emojis].”

She later let critics know that she isn’t interested in fighting and would block anyone who decided to get out of pocket. Check it out below.

Erykah Badu Invited George Floyd’s Family Backstage In Minneapolis To Honor His 48th Birthday

October 14th would have been George Floyd’s 48th birthday. Floyd, whose life helped galvanize millions of Americans within the Black Lives Matter movement, was killed at the hands of police officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25th, 2020.

On Wednesday night, hip-hop’s reigning diva Queen Erykah Badu had a tour stop at the Minneapolis Armory venue in the city. The gracious Badu invited George Floyd’s family backstage —including his sister, his uncle, and aunt — to celebrate and honor his life at the stroke of midnight,

As she counted down the final minutes to midnight, Badu recorded a video tribute to Floyd on her Instagram story, panned the camera to show his family members, and stated the following message:

“People of planet Earth, we’re about four minutes away from George Floyd’s birthday. He would’ve been 48 years old and I’m here with his family now. It seems like we have a moment of peace right now. And we know that your life is not in vain. Thank you for your spirit and your sacrifice so that we can move on the way we should — be where we supposed to as a people.”

Chance The Rapper Vows To Get A Chicago Sky Tattoo If They Win The Next WNBA Finals Game

The 2021 WNBA Finals series between the Chicago Sky and Phoenix Mercury got underway this past Sunday, and so far, it’s proven to be an exciting matchup. The Mercury won Game One with a satisfying 14-point win while the Sky game back strong to win by five in an overtime thriller. The Finals series has fans, like fellow Phoenix athletes Chris Paul, Jae Crowder, and Devin Booker, excited for the next matchup. This also includes Chance The Rapper who hopped on Twitter to make a bold claim ahead of Game 3.

A little over 24 hours before tipoff for game three, Chance took to Twitter to make a strong promise for the game. “When the Sky clenches the victory in game 3 tmw I will be getting tatted to commemorate the victory,” the rapper wrote. Even if the Sky win on Friday, Chance’s tattoo will be a bit of a premature celebration as the team will still need an additional win to get their hands on the WNBA Finals trophy.

Chance’s comments come shortly after he released his Magnificent Coloring Book film concert, a movie that he recently admitted made him “super thirsty” to perform again. He added during the interview with Billboard, “I’m saying to myself ’I can’t wait to perform this particular song now. I’m looking at it as a performer, but also as a filmmaker.”

Stacey Dash Admits To “18 To 20 Pills A Day” Addiction: “I Lost Everything”

Her commentary has often given the public pause, but Stacey Dash has returned to speak about something other than her political opinions. On Thursday (October 14), Dash was a guest on Dr. Oz, and the Clueless icon spoke candidly about a secret she claims she has been holding onto for years. Dash revealed that her life was in turmoil due to her addiction to prescription pills.

“I was taking eighteen to twenty pills a day,” said the 54-year-old actress. Dr. Oz mentioned that those many Vicodins meant for an expensive habit. “Yeah, I lost everything,” Dash replied.

Dash also shared that she was involved in a physically abusive relationship, but she did not name the person.

“He would beat me so bad, I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I couldn’t walk —[he broke] my arm, tied me to the bed for three days,” she said. “Some part of me thought that’s what I deserved.” Dash believes that her faith has been instrumental in her recovery.

“Do I have to fight for it? Sometimes, yeah. Are there moments when I wake up and I’m like, ‘This is a bad day. I want to do something bad.’ I know if I get on my knees and I pray that Jesus will help me — he has for five years,” she claimed. “This has not been easy… There have been days where I’ve spent the entire day on my knees and didn’t move, until I felt God fill that hole inside of me.”

Prior to her appearance on Dr. Oz, she shared a Facebook post where she encouraged others to come forward with their stories in an effort to heal. She also acknowledged her past political remarks where she took extreme conservative stances about the Black community and LGBTQIA people.

“I’m not homophobic,” Dash said. “I’m not racist. I was just angry, and it benefited me.”

Zion Williamson To Miss Start Of Regular Season With Foot Injury

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson will miss the beginning of the regular season, the organization’s vice president of basketball operations, David Griffin, announced this week. Williamson had previously said that he expected to be ready for the first game.

While team doctors said that were “very encouraged” by Williamson’s progress, Griffin explained that they will reassess his status in two to two to 2½ weeks, adding that there is no “fixed timeline.”

“It’s everyone’s goal that Zion return to play as soon as safely possible,” Griffin said. “Obviously, two to 2½ weeks from now means he will not be on the floor for the first week of games. When he is able to return safely, we will do that.”

Williamson suffered a fractured right foot before summer league and underwent surgery in the offseason to repair the bone.

“He had a fractured right foot that was repaired surgically,” Griffin explained at Pelicans media day on Sept. 27. “His timeline should get him back on the court in time for the regular season. That would be our hope and our view. And we’re very optimistic about what that looks like.”

Williamson missed the start of his rookie season in 2019-20, dealing with a torn meniscus in his right knee.
