It came as a shock earlier today when news reports were appearing with headlines about a physical altercation that allegedly occurred between Zayn Malik and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid. We previously reported on the allegations after TMZ claimed the Yolanda is considering filing a police report against the former One Direction singer for striking her during an argument.

Hours after the accusations surfaced, Malik returned with a statement that puzzled the public, yet denying the allegations. “As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private place for my daughter to grow up in,” the singer stated.

“A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart,” he continued. “In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”

In a statement to TMZ, Malik “adamantly” denied “striking” Yolanda Hadid and added, that “for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details.”

Model Gigi has spoken about the loving relationship that Malik and her mother have in the past, but when asked about this incident, her rep kept things brief. “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time,” her rep said.

There has been another home invasion at a home of a Real Housewives reality star. In February of last year, Pop Smoke was viciously murdered during a home invasion robbery in Hollywood Hills. The rising rapper rented the location from Teddi Mellencamp, the daughter of famed musician John Mellencamp and star of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. 

According to reports, Teddi’s costar Dorit Kemsley was reportedly the victim of a home invasion robbery in Encino yesterday (October 27) evening. NBC News stated that approximately $1 million worth of items were taken from the property.

Police claim that two to three men smashed a window, crept into the home, went up the stairs, and found Kemsley in bed.

The victim told authorities the men claimed to be armed, ordered her out of bed and demanded her to lead them to jewelry and other valuables around the house, the sources said. At least one of the intruders threatened to kill her.

Kemsley reportedly did not see the vehicle the perpetrators escaped in. There were said to be security cameras around the home and police are investigating what could have been captured in the chaos. Aside from Mellencamp and Kemsley’s incidents, their RHOBH co-star Kyle Richards of the Halloween franchise was burgled in 2017. However, Richards’s family was not home when thieves ransacked their house and ran off with around $1 million worth of jewelry.

Despite the backlash he received in recent weeks, Boosie Badazz has more supporters than one thinks. The Louisiana rapper has never been shy about sharing his upfront and often brash reactions to pop culture moments, but when he unleashed his wrath onto Lil Nas X, it became a global conversation. 

We’ve previously reported on Lil Nas X and Boosie trolling one another, but after the Montero rapper teased that he had a collaboration with Boosie, his foe did not appreciate the mention.

Boosie’s homophobic rant is the tweet that was heard ’round the world, however, Bounce icon Big Freedia stepped in to say that her fellow Louisiana native was not homophobic. Instead, Freedia claimed that Boosie was just mad at Lil Nas X and added that Boosie included gay people in his film, suggesting that he does not oppose the LGBTQIA+ community.

This evening (October 28), Boosie returned to Twitter to praise Big Freedia for defending him. “THANK U @bigfreedia N THOSE WHO WHO THINK I HATE GAYS R LOST [double exclamation mark emoji] but I’m go let y’all keep taking up for someone who says ‘F*CK YOUR KIDS’SMH #sad #sad.” Boosie was referencing Lil Nas X’s visit to The Breakfast Club where he was questioned about people complaining that their children would be negatively influenced by his performances and actions.

An old-school Hip Hop meeting of the minds was interrupted recently due to backlash. Millions of fans worldwide recently tuned into Verzuz to watch Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One relive some major moments in Hip Hop as they performed classic jams. The energy was set to be slightly duplicated at a concert involving KRS-One and Rakim, but it seems that anti-vaccine advocates have thwarted the live show.

According to Vibe, Rakim, KRS, and Slick Rick were set to perform at Detroit’s Masonic Temple venue on November 7 but it was announced today (October 28) that the concert had been canceled.

It was back in mid-August when the Masonic Temple shared that it would adhere to COVID-19 mandates set in place by AEG and LiveNation, including patrons showing that they had been fully vaccinated or tested negative for COVID with the last 72 hours. There has been a massive divide in the U.S. about protocols and mandates, and the Masonic Temple has apparently been feeling the wrath of anti-vaxxers.

“We have received hundreds of texts, voicemails, and comments on social media about the Masonic Temple’s vaccination mandate,” 2D Productions & Entertainment promoter Derrick Kearney reportedly said. “We have also found that the majority of concertgoers in that hip-hop demographic are not vaccinated. So the vaccination mandate with the Masonic Temple is the reason [for the event’s cancellation.]”

In recent years, Kanye West’s actions and comments have caused a stir, but regardless, he is still celebrated as one of the most innovative talents in the music industry. Recently, a backup dancer named Maria took to TikTok to sing the rapper’s praises for defending and supporting her during an uncomfortable moment at one of his afterparties. 

“Of all the crazy headlines that go up about Mr. Kanye West, I will always have a soft spot for him,” Maria said. “I genuinely think he’s a good dude and that’s because of a personal experience I had with him.”

She explained that she used to be a backup dancer for West “many, many years ago” when he visited Australia. “He came to town and he hired like, twenty Australian girls to be his ballerinas.” One evening after the performance, everyone went back to the rapper’s penthouse—the dancers and Ye’s crew. They were all enjoying themselves at the afterparty when something occurred while a handful of people were hanging out on the veranda.

“Kanye was inside on his laptop doing something and a bunch of us were out on the veranda, dancing and drinking and all that sort of stuff,” she added. “We were all sitting around and a bunch of the guys that were like, Kanye’s little posse, were like, standing around and they were dancing and twerking.” They asked her to join in and she turned them on because she was “relaxing.”

Maria noted that she was the “thickest” of all of the ladies and because of that, “the Americans were honing in on” her. She claimed that the group began pressuring her to grind on the guys and to get involved. “I could feel the walls closing in on me, I felt really, really uncomfortable. I kept saying no and they kept coming in… I was getting to a point where it was like, I feel really unsafe here.”

Then, “out of nowhere,” Kanye “burst” through the group and yelled, “She said no! So stop asking her to do it!” The group backed up and Ye stayed by her side and reassured her that she didn’t have to do anything she didn’t want to. Watch Maria share her story below.

The Nike Air Max 90 is a classic sneaker from 1990 and just last year, it got to celebrate its 30th anniversary in style. If you are a fan of the Air Max 90, you have seen numerous colorways make their way to the market over the past couple of years, and they all have had some sort of unique flair to them. Now, The Nike Air Max 90 will be a part of the brand’s upcoming “Lucky Charms” collection and there is no doubt that this latest Air Max 90 is one of the best in quite some time.

As you can see in the images down below, the shoe has an all-over blueish-green glow that is reinforced by some velvet material. There is also a healthy dose of silver to be found here thanks to the chain that hangs down with little gems of the Nike swoosh and the year “1990.” These are fairly loud but the color itself is striking, to say the least.

Twenty-four hours after going viral, French Montana returns to trending topic territory. The rapper has taken some hits from the internet in recent days after a social media user trolled him with a Squid Games question about his catalog. After facing some teasing online, another video of French Montana has circulated and this time, he recounted a story about Akon gifting him a fake watch for his birthday.

“He had given me a Hublot so it wasn’t iced out,” said Montana. “And you know, I like sh*t with diamond son it, so I took it to my jeweler. I was like, ‘Yo, can you switch this for me? Akon gave it to me for my birthday.’ He looked at me and was like, ‘What you mean? Akon did not give you this, my guy.'”

The rapper thought that his jeweler was either pranking him or Akon made a mistake. French Montana then gave a shout out to Akon and called him “my guy,” but added that he is “still waiting for the real one.” 

“So I call him and said, ‘Kon, my jeweler said this is fake. Say it ain’t so.’ He was like, ‘What?! Let me call the jeweler,‘” Montana recalled. This makes for a casual Hollywood tale of an interaction between rich friends, but some have questioned why Montana would share with the world that Akon buys and gifts fake watches.

Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers are off to a respectable 2-2 start to the season. With the current makeup of the team in mind, it remains to be seen whether or not this Blazers team is truly good enough to make it to the playoffs in a stacked Western Conference. With that being said, Lillard is motivated to bring Portland a title, all while proving himself to be the best point guard in the world.

Unfortunately, Lillard’s stats to start the season have been less than stellar, and if you are a fan of the superstar PG, you understand that he could be doing a lot better. As it stands, his three-point shooting has suffered as he has only hit 17 percent of his shots. Meanwhile, he is only averaging 17.7 points per game and he is doing this while shooting 33 percent from the field.

His statline recently made its way to Twitter, which is something he didn’t really appreciate. He immediately sniped the post from Hoop Central and said “What did the 9 years say to the 4 games? …” Clearly, Lillard is talking about his resume and how he has proven that he can do a lot better over the course of a season. Four games is barely a sample size and it is completely normal for players to get off to slow starts before picking things up later on down the line.

Lillard has always been a guy who takes pride in what he does, and when he sees some BS about him on the internet, he calls it out. While he may be off to a slow start, this probably isn’t indicative of how he will play all season long.

Love’s taken over for R&B singer Chante Moore, who announced her engagement to former BET President of Programming, Stephen G. Hill. 

The two recently celebrated Hill’s 60th birthday on a trip together. Moore shared pictures of the two lounging on a boat in the middle of the sea, sharing the engagement announcement and sending Hill birthday wishes with lyrics to “Happier Than the Morning Sun” by Stevie Wonder.

“There are mountains, valleys and hidden coves, full of treasures I’ve never seen before … that are pouring out of your heart! Thank you for showering me with more than I ever expected!! Happy Birthday and I love you! Who knew 30 years ago~ through many chance meetings… we would end up H E R E!?!? But, here we are…. WE will enjoy OUR gift of the “PRESENT!” Moore wrote.

Hill shared the same photo to his Instagram with a caption affirming their shared romantic journey, “This has been my best year ever and the continuation of that best is just beginning.”

“[C]elebrating a solar spin today and am brand new. After 21,915 days…this ol’ heart is skipping the right beats on the regular. May you, right now, at whatever age you are, feel as strong, vibrant and in love as I am right now…at 60. Best birthday ever. I love you.”

This marks Moore’s third engagement. She was previously married to the NBC sitcom A Different World‘s Kadeem Hardison, with whom she shares a twenty-five-year-old daughter, Sophia. Moore’s second husband was singer Kenny Lattimore, with whom she also shares an eighteen-year-old son, Kenny Lattimore Jr.

Moore hinted that she may have met her newest fiance through her job and time in the industry. The former BET executive worked for the network for 17 years, and has previously held roles as executive producer of the BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, as well as BET shows such as The Deal and Alicia Keys.

The couple certainly seem to be on the same wavelength. Hills shared an over twenty minute video of the two vibing to music to his Instagram, post-announcement.
