Dirk Nowitzki To Have His Jersey Retired By The Mavericks

Dirk Nowitzki is one of the biggest legends in NBA history and his time with the Dallas Mavericks will forever be cemented. He is a lock to make the Hall of Fame in a couple of years, and it should come as no surprise that the Mavericks want to honor him in every way they can. He brought the city an NBA title in 2011, and he has also proven himself to be the most important player in the history of that franchise.

When you’ve had a career like Dirk’s, you can typically expect to have your jersey retired by the team that you had all of your best moments with. Having said that, everyone should have known that a jersey retirement ceremony was on the horizon.

According to NBA reporter Marc Stein, the Mavericks will retire the infamous number 41 on January 5th. Interestingly enough, that game will be against the Golden State Warriors, which probably isn’t the best idea. Either way, Dirk’s name will hang from the rafters now, which is certainly a great honor to have given everything that he has accomplished in his career.

Quando Rondo Shares Troubling Message: “I’ma Either Get Killed Or I’ma Kill Somebody”

Quando Rondo has issued a warning to those around him that it’s about to get slimy, and he thinks that something drastic could happen to him in the coming weeks.

The Savannah, Georgia-based rapper has had a tumultuous year following his involvement in King Von’s fatal shooting in November 2020. The rapper had an altercation with Von moments before one of his entourage members shot the OTF representative, killing him. Since then, Quando has been on the defensive with fans, who are furious about Von’s death.

With the upcoming Never Broke Again compilation album releasing on Thursday evening featuring Quando Rondo, the rapper sent off a few troubling messages on Twitter, warning people that he believes he’s either going to get killed in the coming weeks, or he’ll kill somebody.

Mike Tyson Allegedly Needed Sex Before Fights Or He’d Kill His Opponents

Mike Tyson has been very open about the anxiety he used to face prior to going into the ring. The former heavyweight champ was convinced that he could kill a man with his punches, and it was a possibility that would always make him cry. He feared for the safety of others and he was always cognizant of his opponent’s family and how they may react to such a fate.

Interestingly enough, Tyson allegedly had other ways of coping with his anxiety that were much more intense than just crying. In a new interview with The Sun, Tyson’s chauffeur from the 80s, Rudy Gonzalez, came out and said that Tyson needed to have sex prior to his fights, otherwise, his energy was going to go into killing his opponent. Simply put, having sex was Tyson’s way of expelling some energy, while also leaving himself enough juice to take out his opponent.

“One of the greatest secrets with Mike was that he needed to have sex in the dressing room before fights,” Gonzalez said. “He had to get laid to disengage some of the strength he had. So I had girls tucked away in bathrooms and changing rooms. Mike would say, ‘If I do not get laid, I will kill this guy right now.’ Sometimes he’d go in with them [the women] for a minute, bang the s–t out of them, snap his neck and say: ‘OK, this guy is going to live tonight.’”

This is definitely quite the admission to make, however, this particular side of the story has not been confirmed by Tyson himself. Regardless, the thought of Tyson having sex minutes before a fight is certainly enough to make you wonder if any other boxers have done the same thing.

KenTheMan Menaces Her Way Through Her UPROXX Sessions Performance Of ‘No Name’

Some UPROXX Sessions performances are upbeat and fun, while others are somber and reflective. Then, there are those that go for a different vibe entirely. KenTheMan’s performance of her threatening song “No Name” falls into that category, as the Houston-bred lyricist steps to the mic like a seasoned slugger, looming and leering while she menaces her foes and asserts her impending dominance over the rap game.

Last year, Ken generated some significant buzz with her debut EP 4 da 304’s, telling Uproxx’s Cherise Johnson that she switched to writing more raunchy raps because “Sex been selling. Trina, Kim, Foxy, all them, they real grimy with they words and they really sell sex. I just don’t see why it’s such a shocker that people still selling sex… I just feel like power to us, power to the pussy right now.”

She followed up that project this year with “What’s My Name?” expanding the range of her writing with tracks like “I’m Perfect” and the motivational “Love Yourself,” as well as, of course, “No Name.” Now signed to Asylum and with her buzz building by the day, Ken is in prime position to live up to her name and become “the man” in hip-hop — as in the boss, the leader, the number-one. Stay tuned.

Dana Boulos Believes ‘If You Can Dream It, You Can Achieve It’

Dana Boulos can’t be stopped. The photographer, director, DJ, creative director, and overall renaissance woman took a childhood passion for visual mediums and a restless spirit and spun it into a career full of boundary-breaking achievements. Her reputation precedes her as a “can do anything, will do anything” type of creative mind.

That mentality and approach is why Boulos has been identified as one of The Next 9 by Porsche. From fashion photography and consulting to a future as a feature filmmaker, Boulos got to where she is by never taking “no” for an answer.

“I’m always trying to push through the idea that everything is possible,” Boulos tells me over Zoom one unseasonably cold LA morning in October. “If you can dream it, you can achieve it. That’s something that’s been ingrained in my brain. I don’t care what anyone says, I don’t care if someone says ‘no,’ or ‘it’s never been done before.’ That’s exactly how you know you can do it.”

With a strong drive and a determination to get things done, Boulos is an expert at responding to the moment. That’s probably why when she isn’t weaving together glowing and ethereal dreamlike visuals, she’s moonlighting as a DJ, a job that requires you to not only capture the vibe of a room but respond to it and morph it into something new.

“At the end of the day, you’re creating something out of nothing,” she notes. “When it comes to DJing, you’re setting the mood… Directing is the same thing, you’re in control, but you’re managing people. Everything is a team effort, you need to know how to manage that team and bring the best out of the people you’re working with.”

Boulos credits her upbringing with equipping her with the necessary skills and tools to thrive as a multi-hyphenate.

“Both of my parents are Lebanese,” she says. “I grew up with this mentality that you work very hard and you don’t give up. They came to America with nothing in the late ‘70s/early ’80s and just decided they will make a life for themselves… I see that as motivation. Do what you love and money will come from it.”

The impact of Boulos’ parents cannot be understated. You can trace her relentlessness, her ability to accomplish any task she sets out to achieve, and her aspiration to be the best to her earliest memories.

“My dad worked so many years and finally bought a Porsche,” she says. “That car has always been in my world. It’s beautiful, it’s luxurious, but it’s also very powerful. I was lucky that when I was learning how to drive, my dad let me drive his Porsche. That had an impact on me, I thought ‘oh my god, he trusts me with this car; he believes I can do it.’”

That early instillation of confidence helped to form Boulos’ strong belief in her own abilities. It’s a skill she’s still focused on today — constantly analyzing her past work, looking for ways to improve, and take things to the next level. And it’s all been leading up to a feature film that explores her experiences growing up as a woman with a Middle Eastern background and finding her place in the world.

“It’s very traditional to get married and have the men take care of you,” she says. “But it wasn’t like that in my household. It was very much you do you, and you work hard on it. That’s something I’ll be touching on when working on cinema projects and features… Being able to do and have a funded film. That’s a whole different ball game… Having a film premiere at Sundance or Cannes. That’s the next goal for me.” Boulos says with finality, before suddenly adding, “As well as creating a physical book.”

Her ambitions are huge. Her successes are legit. And her mind never stops working. Dana Boulos is firing on all cylinders.

Zac Stacy Reportedly Flees Florida Amid Domestic Violence Video

Disturbing news came out of the football world today as a video of former NFL running back Zac Stacy made the rounds on social media. The video in question depicts the former star beating up his ex-girlfriend and throwing her head first into a television. The incident reportedly took place last Saturday, and it all happened in front of their infant son.

The video below can be quite triggering, so watch it at your own discretion. As you can see, there were two angles of the attack, and it appears to be quite blatant and disturbing.

When police showed up to tend to the scene, Stacy had already left. While police have been looking for Stacy, it has now been reported that the man has supposedly fled Florida and continues to be on the run. A spokesperson for the Oakland Police Department came out today and said “Efforts are underway to capture Stacy. And we would urge him to turn himself in and face the criminal charges,” according to TMZ.

Even Stacy’s victim is speaking out as she released a video today asking for people to keep a lookout for him. “I don’t know why his friends are hiding him,” she said. “If you see him — he drives a white Kia Optima, a 2020 I believe or a 2021. Please, again, if you see him or you know of any location that he might be, please turn him in or call your local authorities.”

This is a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates.

Julius Jones’ Death Sentence Commuted After Pleas From J. Cole & Kim Kardashian

Julius Jones will not be executed today, following a decision made by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt. Jones was scheduled to be executed today after being convicted of first-degree murder in 1999, for which he has argued his innocence for over twenty years. After a review of the case and “prayerful consideration,” Stitt decided to commute Jones’ death sentence.

“After prayerful consideration and reviewing materials presented by all sides of this case, I have determined to commute Julius Jones’ sentence to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole,” said Stitt on Thursday.

This comes following pleas made from Kim Kardashian (who has been advocating for Jones’ freedom for years) and J. Cole, who tweeted about the case to raise awareness this week. Cole retweeted a thread that Kim posted about Jones’ execution, saying, “Read this please. Then share. Oklahoma is a day away from executing a man. The evidence that this man is innocent is overwhelming. So much so that the state parole board recommended to the governor that he not be executed. With 1 day left of his life, the governor hasn’t acted.”

Jones’ attorney Amanda Bass said Stitt’s decision marked an “important step” but that his family was hoping for a result that kept the possibility of parole on the table.

Stephen A. Smith Reveals How LeBron James Can Enter GOAT Convo

Stephen A. Smith has been very adamant in the past that LeBron James can never be the GOAT. Smith reserves that designation to Michael Jordan, and there is nothing that LeBron can ever do to change that. LeBron is currently stuck at four championships and he doesn’t have many years left to get to six. Not to mention, after going to the Finals a total of 10 times, LeBron has six Finals losses that have counted against his resume.

With all of this in mind, it was surprising to hear that Smith could very well change his mind about LeBron if he is able to accomplish this one thing. You see, the Lakers are a bit of a mess right now without LeBron in the lineup. Even with him back, no one expects them to make a deep run, however, Smith believes a massive turnaround could be the boost LeBron needs to match Jordan.

While speaking to Kendrick Perkins, Smith admitted that should LeBron win the title this year, he will have to reconsider LeBron as neck and neck with MJ for being the best to ever play the game. Perkins seemed pleasantly surprised by this turnaround, however, as Smith expressed, he believes it is virtually impossible for the Lakers to win this year, as he thinks the Warriors have it wrapped up, just 14 games into the season.

Smith’s claim is certainly a bold one, however, it does make sense. Jordan’s teams never had these kinds of chemistry issues, and it’s clear that LeBron has a lot working against him right now. Only time will tell whether or not Smith actually honors what he’s saying.
