Young Dolph Was Reportedly Unaware Of Any Ongoing Beef When He Arrived In Memphis

As the world continues to mourn the untimely death of Young Dolph, more and more information regarding the shooting that took the rapper’s life has come to light. According to TMZ, the Memphis native was “unaware of any ongoing beef” when he made the trip to his hometown, which makes the circumstances of his death all the more confusing to those that he left behind.

Sources close to the “Drip Like Dis” artist say that he was excited to be back in Tennessee, and had even lined up a week full of charity events to give back to his community. In the wake of his untimely death, some of Dolph’s friends continued to host a turkey drive, providing hundreds of people in need with food for the forthcoming holiday.

The gossip site notes that the 36-year-old had “no fear of hitting the streets of Memphis without security guards,” which unfortunately resulted in him being ambushed by two gunmen at one of his favourite local spots – Makeda’s Cookies. Following the incident, the bakery has reached out to the public asking for help to get back on their feet while recovering from a prior robbery as well as Dolph’s shooting.

Photographs of the two suspects have been released to the public, showing them dressed down in sweatpants with hoods up and masks covering their faces – for now, they remain at large. After the attack on Young Dolph, authorities also headed to Yo Gotti’s restaurant in the area out of fear of more violence. Luckily, the location was left untouched.

As the hip-hop community mourns the loss of a legend, hundreds of tributes that testify just how special the “Talking To My Scale” rapper was have been pouring in; you can read them here. RIP Young Dolph.

Saweetie & Simu Liu’s “Saturday Night Live” Promo Clip Teases A Lover’s Quarrel

Later tonight, rapper Saweetie is set to make her debut as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. As is tradition, she linked up with some of the cast members, as well as this evening’s celebrity host, Canadian actor Simu Liu, to film a promotional clip.

“Hi I’m Simu Liu, and I’m hosting SNL this week with musical guest, Saweetie,” the Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings star says into the camera. Instead of addressing Liu, the “Best Friend” singer turns to the cast member on her other side, Kyle Mooney, to apprehensively say “Hello, Kyle.”

Mooney then responds, “Hello, Saweetie,” as the two awkwardly look off into the distance, clearly avoiding eye contact. “Do you two know each other?” cast member Cecily Strong asks the duo from the other end of the group, causing him to emotionally respond, “we did, before she broke off our engagement!”

Sensing some tension, Liu jumps back into the conversation to ask, “ok, is this going to be a problem?” While Saweetie says, “no,” Mooney responds with, “probably, I don’t know,” before storming off the stage. From the sounds of things, at least one of this evening’s skits will include a lover’s quarrel of some sort.

When she’s not arguing with her “ex-finance,” viewers of tonight’s episode will get to see the California native perform her latest single, “Icy Chain,” which comes ahead of the release of her debut album, Pretty Bitch Music. The project is expected to drop in 2022 after facing several delays.

Shortly after news of his passing, WREG News Channel 3 published what appears to be the rapper’s last known interview. Dolph paid a visit to the West Cancer Clinic near Memphis where he discussed his turkey drive, which members of the Paper Route Empire roster pushed forward with following his passing, and the appreciation for the employees at the clinic. Dolph explained that several members of his family, including his aunt, grandma, and uncle, battled cancer at that very clinic.

“I wanted to show up and just wanted to thank them for what they do,” the rapper explained. “‘Cause it ain’t an easy job. Like, it’s kind of hard, you know what I mean? Just seeing people in those conditions, like, some people be more down than others. Some be alright. It just be all about timing. Like, even the ones that be alright, it only last for so long but they do a hell of a job. And I just wanted to come and congratulate them and let ’em know I appreciate them.”

Afterward, the rapper spoke directly to the staff at West Clinic Cancer where he further explained how much they meant to him and his family. “I just wanted to really give y’all your flowers so y’all know you appreciated,” he said before taking flicks with the employees.

Pusha T Connects With Mako On “Misfit Toys”

It’s been over three years and here we are, still without a follow-up to Daytona. Don’t get it twisted, Daytona is a modern-day classic that doesn’t get old but we’re left wondering how Pusha T can top it. He’s offered a handful of singles in the past year while updating fans on the status of his next opus.

To hold fans over in the meantime, the rapper returned with a contribution to the Arcane soundtrack. King Push and Mako connect for the electronically-tinged banger. Mako holds down the hook while Push rips vicious bars towards his enemies, loosely paralleling the premise of the show to the street life.

The soundtrack for Arcane: League Of Legends also includes contributions from Denzel Curry, Jazmine Sullivan, J.I.D., PVRIS, and more.

Check the track below.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m kickin’ down your door
If I wonder why you got a pocket full of green for
It’s all about the get back
It’s hard to give back while the politicians kick back
They say I’m only brick rap
Well, that’s the foundation of this mountain that I live at
