Lil Baby Shoots Down A Recent Rumor That He And Saweetie Are Dating

Ever since “Icy Grl” rapper Saweetie broke up with Atlanta trap rapper Quavo, she’s been linked to a number of their peers in the hip-hop world. Recently, a photo-op with Compton rapper Roddy Ricch led to speculation about the pair dating that Saweetie promptly shot down, and now, she’s been paired with another Atlanta native by gossip blogs when Hollywood Unlocked reported that Lil Baby took her on a date in New York, spending almost $100,000 on her. However, Lil Baby himself surfaced online to deny the rumor, emphatically shutting down speculation that they’ve begun dating.

“Baby not dating NO ONE!!” he tweeted. “I’m Single!”

Saweetie was in New York City around the time of the report, where she made her Saturday Night Live debut performing a medley of her hits as well as her new single “Icy Chain.” But as Baby pointed out, unless the stars themselves let us know their connections personally, it’s probably best to let the speculation rest. Saweetie proved as much, refuting a report that she’d reunited with Quavo earlier this year.

Incidentally, Lil Baby and Saweetie aren’t the only ones getting the Twitter matchmaking treatment. Baby’s friend and Drip Harder collaborator Gunna was also recently linked to a pretty, up-and-coming star, Chloe Bailey, when the pair was photographed at a Hawks game sharing a table in the lounge area. Gunna also addressed the rumors, saying the two were just hanging out at the game while working on music together.

DaBaby & Meme Spend Thanksgiving Together Following DaniLeigh Debacle

The blowout that DaBaby and DaniLeigh had over Instagram last week won’t soon be forgotten by the world, but the co-parents are seemingly doing their best to move on from it. Footage from the “Ball If I Want To” rapper’s Instagram shows him relaxing under a palm tree, chatting with followers about eating stingrays, and it looks like his other baby mama, Meme, may be with him.

@its_onsite on IG shared a comparison video of DaBaby’s story beside Meme’s, which also has the same beautiful palm trees in the background. “A place for a playa,” she captioned a video of her snacking on something while wearing oversized sunglasses and listening to “Super High” by Rick Ross, featuring Ne-Yo.

Last night, the 29-year-old hosted an album release party in West Palm Beach for his latest project, Back On My Baby Jesus Sh!t AGAIN. He showed off his drip for the evening in a series of photos and videos, captioned “raise ya hand if you got drunk before the pictures. Too sexy not to show y’all #HappyThanksGiving.”

Meme and DaBaby may not have actually posted any content together, but internet sleuths were able to put two and two together and realize that they spent the holiday together in Florida. Following her baby daddy’s spat with DaniLeigh, the mother of the rapper’s eldest daughter hopped online to share some words of her own.

“Baby, it ain’t fun when the rabbit got the gun,” she said, addressing the “Cravin” artist in a video. “It’s crazy how the motherf*cker was turned, and that’s the moral of the story. It’s backwards for you to ever have a problem with any female he’s involved with, dealing with, you don’t have that right, you get what I’m saying?”

In the clip, Meme also made reference to love spells backfiring, spiritual warfare, and called Dani out on her use of the n-word. See the full video below.

42 Dugg Trends Again Because People Think He Looks Like A Kid

The online jokes just won’t stop for rapper 42 Dugg, who continues to go viral because of his height. For his birthday this week, the Detroit native sat courtside next to Big Sean at the Detroit Pistons game and when they were shown on the jumbotron, fans had jokes for Dugg.

Why does Big Sean look like he’s babysitting 42 Dugg,” asked one fan. Considering over 115,000 people “liked” the tweet, it’s safe to say that people agree that Dugg looks like a kid next to Sean

The two rappers showed off their jewelry for the camera and they both ended up trending over the video, which went viral on social media.

“I thought that was a lil kid sitting next to big sean,” joked another fan.

Even Sean got in on the fun, but he wasn’t as savage as everybody else. The rapper posted a gallery of photos from the game, including one image where Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro towers above Dugg and pats him on the shoulder. But it was the first picture, in which Dugg spills his entire plate of fries onto the court, that got people laughing.

“That first picture is hilarious,” remarked one of Sean’s followers. “Lol why you gotta expose the man like that,” laughed producer T-Minus.

Do you think 42 Dugg will ever get past the jokes about his height? Check out some of the funniest tweets below.

Steph Curry Delivers Massive Praise To His Brother Seth

Steph Curry is going to go down as the greatest shooter of all time, although, as it turns out, good three-point shooting is something that runs in the family. For instance, Curry’s brother Seth has been playing phenomenally well with the Philadelphia 76ers, and the franchise has given Seth the ability to be a key sharpshooter on the roster. While Seth isn’t near the same talent level as his brother, there is no doubt that he is still an effective NBA player.

On Wednesday, the Curry brothers went up against each other and in the end, it was Steph and the Warriors who came through victorious. Seth still showed out, however, as he scored a team-high 24 points. After the game, Steph showed much love to his brother, stating just how good Seth has gotten over the past few years.

“That dude is playing incredible basketball,” Steph explained per reporter Keith Pompey. “He’s fun to watch. He’s continuing to get better. He goes at his own pace. He’s so under control. So I’m a proud, proud brother.”

As both brothers continue to age, they will certainly have more and more matchups against each other. They are both immensely talented, and you can’t help but feel like they are the best brotherly duo in the NBA right now, apart from perhaps LaMelo and Lonzo.

Dwight Howard Reveals What He Learned About Living With 50 Snakes

Dwight Howard’s career resurgence with the Los Angeles Lakers has been fun to watch, and there is no doubt that he has become one of the more entertaining characters in the entire league. Every now and then, Howard reveals something about himself that seems to fascinate fans, and one of those things just so happens to be how much he loves snakes and other reptiles.

At one time in his life, Howard had 50 snakes in his home, and it was quite the dynamic to have to deal with. While speaking to GQ, Howard noted that he actually loves snakes and he feels as though they have a negative reputation when they really don’t deserve it. He did admit to being bitten by a couple of them, however, he is now better equipped at taking care of them.

“People give snakes a bad rap,” Howard said. “They’re very docile creatures, very silent and don’t do a lot of moving unless they’re outside their cages. I think they’re amazing. Reptiles can teach you a lot about how to be still.”

Not everyone would want to have this kind of living situation, especially as a high-level athlete. Regardless, Howard seems to be doing just fine with it, and you have to commend him for giving these creatures a nurturing home.

Pouya Speaks On His Fitness Journey, Anxiety, Florida Rap, & Being A Rolling Loud Mainstay

Every time Rolling Loud announces a new festival, there are a few artists that you can almost always expect to see on the lineup. One of those names belongs to Florida underground rap phenom, Pouya.

Ever since the inception of the world’s largest hip-hop festival, Rolling Loud, Pouya has been rocking the stage in Miami, California, New York, and everywhere in between. At this point, he’s a mainstay at Rolling Loud, performing fan favorites including “Suicidal Thoughts in the Back of the Cadillac,” as well as newer moshpit-friendly records like the Denzel Curry-assisted “Wig Split.”

At only 26-years-old, Pouya has built a legacy for himself beyond just music, representing an underdog figure in hip-hop and rising out of the underground to become one of Florida’s most popular artists, despite never switching to a sound preferred by the mainstream. Pouya is still doing exactly what initially brought him to notoriety, and he continues to evolve as an artist, especially on his most recent album Blood Was Never Thick As Water.

Exploring different musical genres on the project, including jazz and other styles, Pouya stayed true to himself and opened up like never before. We caught up with the rapper backstage at Rolling Loud New York last month, where we spoke about his status as a Rolling Loud mainstay, his fitness journey, anxiety, the current state of Florida rap, and, of course, his new album.

Read the unabridged editorial copy of HNHH’s new interview with Pouya below, and catch him on tour with Jasiah before the year closes out.

HNHH: What was it like performing this year at Rolling Loud New York? And are there any differences between the crowd in Miami and in New York?

Pouya: The atmosphere is great, the energy is great. I feel like in New York, we really got to work hard to please the crowd. Somewhere like Miami, they don’t care. They just wanna turn up. But in New York, they wanna hear you, and if you’re not fire, they’re not gonna really… I knew going on stage that I was really gonna have to rap my ass off, or else they’re not gonna fuck with me.

Most definitely. You just dropped your new album, how’s everything going with that?

I just dropped my new album, Blood Was Never Thick As Water. It’s going great. It’s being received really well. About to go on tour— the tickets are selling, the merch is selling. I’m so blessed. I’m so grateful right now with how my album’s going. People really love it, and I’m honored.

How does your new album differentiate from your older catalog?

All my albums, I always try to step into a new world. If you listen to my albums, one album won’t sound like the last. It doesn’t mean that one album is particularly better than the other— they’re just different. I feel like this album is more jazzy. I did a lot of slower, jazzy… this album was more instrumental— a lot of saxophone, and violin, and piano. I was very inspired by the movie Taxi, the soundtrack for that movie. I really loved that soundtrack, and when I heard it, I was like, “I wanna try to incorporate these jazzy sounds with rap music,” and I feel like I did pretty well on the album.

Are you excited about the tour coming up? A few years back when you were going to Europe, you were talking about how your anxiety affected traveling for you

I still deal with heavy anxiety before shows, but I’m still excited because the shows are great, and once I get on stage, all that anxiety goes away because the crowd shows me so much love. It’s before the shows where the anxiety hits. But I love it.

You’ve been working on your fitness this year, putting on some muscle and keeping your fans updated throughout the journey. What inspired the change?

Honestly, what really inspired that is I was just looking at myself one day and I was like, “I’m a scrawny little bitch, I need to get some muscles.” I love myself. I love the way I look regardless, but I was like, “I’ll probably look better with some muscles,” I’ll be healthier as well. It’s really more for the health. I knew it would help my anxiety. I knew it would help with depression and all types of mental issues. I knew it would be good for my life and that there would be benefits from it.

Absolutely. You’ve performed at so many of the Rolling Loud festivals at this point. What keeps you coming back?

I was there since the first-ever Rolling Loud. Matt and Tariq, the guys who run Rolling Loud, are really good friends of mine. They always take care of me, they always make sure I’m booked, they always put me on the best stages, they give me everything I want, they watch my set. I’m so grateful for those guys. I will always support Rolling Loud because they supported me from day one.

What do you think of the current state of Florida rap?

It’s great. We got a lot of great rappers. We got Denzel Curry, we got me, we got Fat Nick… Ski Mask the Slump God, DJ Scheme. There’s too many to count. It’s great. We all support each other, and it’s a family out there.

What’s coming up next for you?

Music videos— more music, more albums, more mixtapes, more touring. I feel like I’m nowhere near my pinnacle or peak yet. I feel like I got so much time to say what I got to say. Just more music.

Troy Ave Returns With New Album, “God Is Great Paper Straight”

It was just a few days ago that Troy Ave dropped off “The Weatherman,” which sees the Brooklyn rapper flex all of his ice while comparing it to the chilly winter season that we’re about to enter. Now, the 36-year-old has unveiled his entire project, God Is Great Paper Straight, comprised of 11 featureless tracks.

As it turns out, yesterday was also Troy’s birthday, so he had a lot to celebrate with Thanksgiving and the arrival of his album. Nas Drops $3.5 Million On Calabasas Estate

Nearly a decade after Nas lost his Georgia home to foreclosure in 2012, the Illmatic rapper won a bidding war for a $3.5 million mansion on the outskirts of Calabasas

According to Yahoo, Nas purchased the home, described as a “kind of a Mediterranean-meets-Southwestern architectural-style mashup,” for $3.5 million after a bidding war brought the estate up $1,000,000 from it’s original $2.5 million listing price.

Custom built in 2007, the Calabasas mansion “includes four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms spread across more than 6,500 square feet of living space rife with soaring ceilings, arched doorways and limestone floors,” and sits on more than 10 acres of land. Yahoo also reports that Nas’ new home is “secluded and surrounded by picturesque mountain vistas,” and along with a myriad of bedrooms, bathrooms, family rooms and a “gourmet” kitchen, the $3.5 million estate comes with “a huge wine cellar with tasting area … a billiards room sporting a wet bar, [and] al fresco dining patio with a built-in barbecue, plus a grotto-style pool with a spa, waterfall and water slide.”

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

Topped off by a roof deck and master suite boasting “a two-way fireplace, sitting room, private balcony, dual walk-in closets and a separate gym,” the Calabasas estate is surely a celebration of Nas’ incredible last two years, which have featured the Grammy-winning, Hit-Boy produced King’s Disease and it’s successorKing’s Disease 2. Add in a MasterClass on rapping and producing, and a new podcast dissecting the fifty-year history of hip hop with Miss Info, and it’s clear the 48-year-old is attacking rap like he did back in ’94, and this $3.5 million purchase is a result.

What do you think of Nas’ new Calabasas estate? Let us know down in the comments.

Dave Chappelle Holds Q&A With Students At Duke Ellington School of the Arts

Dave Chappelle not only argues that cancel culture is ineffective; he also welcomes detractors to try and prove him wrong. For the past several weeks he has been laughing about his “cancelation” following his final Netflix special The Closer and responding to criticism at his Untitled documentary screenings across the country. Now, Dave Chappelle has now turned his attention to the youth.

As previously reported, the celebrated comedian’s fundraiser at his old high school, the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, was called off after students voiced discontent with his jokes and comments in The Closer, and at first, Dave Chappelle joked that he didn’t want to do the fundraiser anyways. It turns out that Dave Chappelle didn’t completely move on from the situation because he popped up at the Duke Ellington School earlier this week to hand out 600 Thanksgiving meals, give out free tickets to his Untitled documentary screening, and participate in an open Q&A session with staff and 580 students.

According to Variety, Dave Chappelle opted to bring a camera crew to capture the Q&A on film, and when the comedian arrived, he was met with “a raucous reception of cheers and some boos.” During the hour-long Q&A, Chappelle reportedly insisted that his staunchest critics let their voices be heard, a decision which Duke Ellington School’s spokesperson says made Chappelle’s supporters become “the silent majority.”

Eight students are said to have confronted Dave Chappelle during the Q&A, including a 16-year-old student who called him both a “bigot” and “childish” and claimed that he “handled it like a child.” Since attendees were asked to secure their phones in magnetic pouches to prevent leaked recordings, two students verbally relayed Chappelle’s response over to Politico. According to them, he responded to the 16-year-old by saying, “My friend, with all due respect, I don’t believe you could make one of the decisions I have to make on a given day.”

Another student reportedly challenged Chappelle’s rhetoric about the trans and LGBTQ communities, telling him directly, “Your comedy kills.” To that, Dave Chappelle emphatically responded, “N***** are killed every day.”

As the students’ questions for the comedian grew “antagonistic,” Variety reports that Chappelle responded to their comments with jokes and laughter before eventually dropping a bombshell on the young crowd, saying, “I’m better than every instrumentalist, artist, no matter what art you do in this school, right now, I’m better than all of you. I’m sure that will change. I’m sure you’ll be household names soon.”

One student left the Q&A early because they “couldn’t even entertain the idea of a conversation,” yet even with all of the contention during the Q&A, Dave Chappelle made a conscious effort to make sure that no harm comes the students’ way. Talking directly to the camera, he said, “This is my family and whether they know it or not I love these kids. I don’t want to hear about any threats to these kids. These kids don’t deserve that.”

Days after the Q&A, many students and parents find the whole event to be both inappropriate and disappointing, citing issues with his use of the N-word when talking with teenagers as well as his overall tone when responding to students’ criticism.

Stay tuned for more updates in the ongoing Dave Chappelle and Duke Ellington School of the Arts story.
