Knicks Demote Kemba Walker Amid Early-Season Struggles

When Kemba Walker joined the New York Knicks, many fans felt like this would be a huge addition to the roster, as Walker has proven himself to be an elite point guard in the past. Unfortunately, things have not worked out so well for Kemba in New York, as the point guard is currently averaging less than 12 points per game and he is only on the court for about 50 percent of the games he participates in.

Fans have noticed that he has been a bit of a liability on defense, and with the Knicks looking to remain competitive in a stacked Eastern Conference, head coach Tom Thibodeau has been experimenting with the rotation. These rotations typically involve Alec Burks taking Kemba’s spot as PG.

Today, it was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that the Knicks have decided to take some drastic measures in regards to Walker, as Kemba will now be taken out of the rotation. Instead, Burks will remain the starting point guard, all while Walker will take a diminished role. This news came as a bit of a shock to Knicks fans, although given Kemba’s recent play, there was certainly a lot of understanding given to the move.

This remains a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates from the NBA world.

Flyysoulja & Kodiyakredd Booed Off Stage In First “Island Boys” Performance At Club LIV

There’s an old saying that goes something like—the internet giveth, and the internet taketh away.

While that might not be exactly how the actual saying goes, it’s 2021, and it’s exactly correct.

The Island Boys, aka Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd, aka Frank and Alex Venegas, are identical twin brothers who, after facing some legal trouble, re-branded as TikTok rappers and constantly encourage their fans to purchase their services on Cameo. After gaining some popularity on TikTok, the pair hit it big, dropping a hilarious freestyle on TikTok in which both brothers proclaim their status as certified island boys.

The freestyle went viral, and celebrities including Cardi B tried their hand at imitating the musical stylings of Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd. Capitalizing on their viral success, the twins came together to record an official version of their hit freestyle, and released “Im An Island Boy” last Thursday.

Unfortunately for The Island Boys, TikTok success doesn’t always translate to real-life success. In their first performance at Miami’s famed Club LIV, Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd hit the stage to perform “Im An Island Boy.” Rocking matching outfits featuring red puffer vests and red sneakers, the pair was almost immediately met with a sea of boos and jeering concertgoers. In a video of the performance, both Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd continue to belt out lyrics, despite the crowd noise, but eventually the DJ intervenes with a couple of gunshot noises and the recording of the performance ends.

What do you think of The Island Boys getting booed off stage during their first performance? Let us know down in the comments.

Young T & Bugsey Tap Unknown T For New Single “Roberto C”

There are a few songs that really stood out during the pandemic, especially the ones that translated into TikTok smashes. Drake’s “Toosie Slide” is one of them, along with Young T and Bugsey’s “Don’t Rush.” The song became an international smash hit, leading to artists like DaBaby and Busta Rhymes to hop on the remix. However, the duo has continued to drop quality bangers since then.

As Young T & Bugsey continue to ride high off of their debut album, Plead The Fifth, they’ve dropped off some serious hits this year that have set the tone for their next release. On Friday, they teamed up with Unknown T for their new single, “Roberto C.” Merging together breezy R&B vibes with afrobeats rhythms, the new record brings a sense of summer vibrancy as the winter approaches.

Check out the new song below.

Quotable Lyrics
Pain in my membrane, the roads in my memories
Thinking ’bout my n***a, I had to drop a likkle Hennessy
Remember when I blast a gun charge in the secondary
Mourning, now I’m pourin’ red rum, in the cemetery

T-Pain Drops Off “Shootin Up The Club”

T-Pain has been cooking up new heat this year but he has certainly been banking off of nostalgia, as well. For example, he delivered The Lost Remixes late last year, containing live renditions, alternative cuts, and remixes of some of his biggest hits to date. However, it’s the recent string of hits he’s been dropping off that have been on steady rotation on our R&B Season playlist, like the BIA and Kehlani assisted single, “I Like Dat.”

This week, the rapper offered a brand new single titled, “Shootin’ Up The Club” — a euphemism for unprotected sex. Pain’s vocoder-infused vocals take center stage, along with his humorous songwriting, for a smooth new record.

Check out the latest from T-Pain below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
I need you to get up
Baby, let me think, you know I ain’t shootin’ blanks
But today, I’m tryna pull my trigger
Show me where the camera at, this better be a prank

Lil Uzi Vert Shares Touching Tribute To The Late Virgil Abloh

The combined worlds of fashion, music and design were devastated yesterday when it was reported that Virgil Abloh, founder of Off-White and Louis Vuitton artistic director, tragically passed away at the age of 41.

Abloh was a pioneer who seemingly singlehandedly molded fashion and design into its most modern iteration and a staple in hop hop culture. His impact on everything inside and outside of hip hop was undeniable and his legacy will live on forever.

In the 24 hours since Abloh’s passing was announced, the world’s biggest artists, from Frank Ocean to Drake to Kanye West, have paid their respects to the late legend, and the social media tributes continue to pour in.

Lil Uzi Vert, who worked with Abloh on his debut album, Luv Is Rage 2 (Abloh creative directed the record, and directed the iconic “XO Tour Llif3” music video) recently took to Instagram to pay tribute, and shared a few clips from an interview Abloh did with Fader. Along with the interview clips, Uzi included multiple photos of he and Abloh, as well as the Luv is Rage 2 album cover and footage of Abloh DJing.

“It’s hard to turn the page when you know someone won’t be in the next chapter, but the story must go on,” Uzi captioned the post. “You stayed on your grind and showed no weakness even threw difficult times so why should I …. IYKYK @virgilabloh Thank you I love you.”

Rest in peace, Virgil.

Jamie Foxx Reveals His Impressive Three-Point Range To Luka Doncic

Jamie Foxx grew up in Texas and he has a lot of love for the sports teams near where he grew up. Case in point, Foxx was seen at the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving as they ultimately lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in overtime. It was a fantastic matchup although Foxx was surely disappointed in the result as the Texas-based team ended up losing.

On Saturday, Foxx remained in Dallas as he went to go support the Mavericks who are led by Luka Doncic. In fact, Foxx got to spend some time with Doncic prior to the Mavs’ game against the Washington Wizards. While there, Foxx was even part of the warmup, and as it turns out, he fit in well with the rest of the roster.

As you can see in the video clip below, Foxx can be seen shooting jumpers all while urging the team to give him a 10-minute contract. From there, he and Doncic engage in a bit of a three-point shootout, and Foxx certainly held his own. It was pretty impressive and Doncic was certainly entertained by what was going on. Of course, Foxx wasn’t being guarded, which definitely lowered the difficulty level. Regardless, a 10-minute contract wouldn’t be such a bad idea, after all.

Let us know what you though of Foxx’s skills, in the comments section down below.

Jussie Smollett Trial Begins With Jury Selection Process

It’s been a few years since Jussie Smollett was accused of faking a hate crime against himself. The Empire actor was ridiculed across the world after claiming that he had been attacked by two Trump supporters who tied a noose around his neck and yelled, “This is MAGA country.” Smollett claimed to be the victim of a racist and homophobic attack.

The trial is set to begin in the near future, as authorities aim to prosecute Smollett for falsifying a police report and lying to the police. Today, the jury selection process began. Per NBC Chicago, there have been several potential jurors who’ve been dismissed. 50 people were selected as potential jurors while 10 were dismissed. Jurors were being asked about their television habits and whether they’re familiar with Empire and/or TMZ. One potential juror said that she didn’t think she would be unbiased since she had previously researched this case.

Since being accused of staging the attack, Smollett has maintained his innocence. Judge James B. Linn emphasized to the potential jurors that all defendants, in this case, are innocent until proven guilty. Judge James B. Linn said that it was the “bedrock of our society.”

Smollett is currently charged with six counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly lying to police and falsifying a police report.

We’ll keep you posted on any further updates regarding the case.

Jack Dorsey Steps Down As CEO Of Twitter

In an email sent to Twitter staff today, CEO and company co-founder Jack Dorsey announced his resignation from the company.

“After almost 16 years of having a role at our company…from co-founder to CEO to Chair to Exec Chair to interim-CEO to CEO…I decided it’s finally time for me to leave,” Dorsey wrote, before asking a simple question.

“Why?,” he asked himself.

“There’s a lot of talk about the importance of a company being ‘founder-led,” he wrote. “Ultimately I believe that’s severely limiting and a single point of failure. I’ve worked hard to ensure this company can break away from its founding and founders. There are 3 reasons I believe now is the right time.”

Dorsey goes on to explain that current Twitter CTO, Parag Agrawal, will take over as CEO and that Agrawal “has been behind every critical decision that helped turned [the] company around,” and that his trust in him as CEO is “bone deep.” Dorsey thanked Bret Taylor for becoming the company’s board chair, and finally took some time to acknowledge the hard work of the entire Twitter staff.

The former Twitter CEO announced that Agrawal would assume his role immediately, and that he would stay on the company’s board until the end of his term around May, and after that, he will leave the company entirely.

In a final message to the Twitter staff, Dorsey explained how difficult this decision was for him, but that he knows it is the correct one.

“I want you all to know that this was my decision and I own it. It was a tough one for me, of course,” he wrote. “I love this service and company…and all of you so much. I’m really sad…yet really happy. There aren’t many companies that get to this level. And there aren’t many founders that chooses their company over their own ego. I know we’ll prove this is the right move.”

While Dorsey was thorough in explaining why now is the correct time for him to step down, the question of what he will do next is open-ended. Two weeks ago, TIDAL (which Dorsey’s company Square purchased Jay-Z’s majority stake in) announced their new tier system, including a free tier and better payouts to artists. It will be interesting to see if, after leaving the Twitter board in May, if Dorsey goes all-in on TIDAL in an effort to compete with the Apple Musics and Spotifys of the world.

What do you think of Dorsey’s decision to step down as Twitter CEO? Let us know down in the comments.
