Moneybagg Yo Reflects On The 5-Year Anniversary Of His First Million

Just like the name suggests, Moneybagg Yo is all about getting to the bag. 2021 became an extremely successful year for the rapper with the release of A Gangsta’s Pain. However, it was a long road to the top of the rap game. The Memphis-born rapper put out numerous mixtapes and projects before the national success he’s witnessing today.

On Saturday (Dec. 11th), the rapper took fans on a trip down memory lane as he reflected on acquiring his first million dollars. He shared a photo of himself with stacks of cash, including a bundle that he used for the quintessential money phone pose. “Today 5years Ago Is Wen I Touched My First Million,” he captioned the post before revealing that his financial literacy wasn’t on point the same way as it is today. He said that he blew it “a couple times” before he really started thinking about growing his wealth.

“I Got Kids I Gotta Leave Dem Wit Sum Now I Own 5 Pieces Of Land , 9 cars wit pink slips , a cannabis brand and a label wit 4 artist s/o God @yogotti @macbo50 @nless_head Love Y’all 5L,” he concluded.

In fact, one of the pieces of land that his girlfriend Ari gifted him is being used to open up a community center. Bagg is really out here making moves out here.

Drake’s Better World Fragrance Company Unveils “Winter Warmth” Holiday Candle

December isn’t even halfway over, but it’s already been a monumental month for Toronto’s own Drake. Days after removing himself from the contenders for this year’s Grammy awards, the 35-year-old took to the stage with Kanye West to put on the performance of a lifetime in hopes of raising awareness about the Free Larry Hoover movement.

On Saturday, the “Find Your Love” rapper had even more exciting news to celebrate – the launch of his Better World Fragrance House’s new holiday candle, titled “Winter Warmth.”

“For sharing with the ones you love. For feeling closer even when apart. For new memories with old friends. Winter Warmth – for everyone,” the product’s description on Instagram. The scent is said to be “filled with Fresh Mint, Apples, and Soft Musks nuanced with Strawberry and Balsam,” and hopes to remind shoppers of “taking a walk through the city streets.”

The candle features a green jar, making it stand out from other available scents like Sweeter Tings, Carby Musk (which reportedly smells like the recording artist), Good Thoughts, Muskoka, and Williamsburg Sleepover, all of which are packaged in a dark blue holder. It retails for $48 CAD, and is only available for a limited time. If you’re hoping to get one of your own, you’ll want to order it by December 14th to ensure it arrives in time for the holidays.

Things seem to be on the up and up for Champagne Papi following his stage set with Ye. The Canadian celebrated the special moment by referencing the father of four’s lyrics in “I Wonder” in his latest Instagram caption. Check it out below.

Lil Baby’s Son Jason Seen Filming Music Video

Lil Baby’s six-year-old son Jason has been making big moves as of late. It seems that Baby has began to instill lessons about hard work into his child, because he just keeps grinding.

On Saturday (Dec. 11), a video surfaced on Jason recording a video for his unreleased original song. As he raps to the camera, it is easy to see he has the same mannerisms as his dad, and his rapping style resembles Baby’s. Over a trap beat with strong claps, Jason spits bars like: “I don’t like checking the price tag / water on my wrist, big drip / diamonds on my neck, big lit.”

It seems like Baby’s got his son feeling himself, as he proceeded to throw stacks of cash in one clip from the video shoot.

While it’s not clear when or if Jason will release the song, it is not a totally unorthodox development. Just this year, Young Thug’s nine-year-old daughter Mego was featured on the song “Yessirskii” from his April compilation album Slime Language 2.

Mego had been rapping for a while before Thug rewarded her for her hard work by allowing her to be on his album, and she is now part of Thug’s label Young Stoner Life.

Perhaps once Jason puts out more music he can join Lil Baby’s 4PF label. Baby already helped him open his own business, so it is plausible he can help him with his rap career too.

Jean Dawson Drops Off “MENTHOL*” Featuring Mac DeMarco

“I’ve just been wanting to scream all the time—not out of anger or any emotion I can pinpoint but just scream at the top of my lungs at nothing,” Jean Dawson revealed in a press release accompanying his latest song, “MENTHOL*.” The track arrived on Friday, December 10th, and features alternative icon Mac DeMarco.

“I don’t know if the song represents that at all but the song is just where I’m at with shit. I think I fully lost my ability to care about shit I don’t care about and it’s truly beautiful. I guess I’m really infatuated with the chaoticness that comes with the idea of tomorrow.”

Dawson has been teasing the song on Instagram for awhile now, building anticipation amongst his fan base. From what we know so far, “MENTHOL*” is set to appear on his forthcoming album. While promoting the single on Instagram, he admitted that working with DeMarco “is bucket list shit” for him, adding that the whole experience had him “geeked.”

What do you think of Jean Dawson and Mac DeMarco’s new collab? Let us know below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Jean, it’s Mac D
Just droppin’ your line today to remind you
That you should take it easy on yourself
Enjoy what you’re doing
And if you stop enjoying it at some point, hey, no problem
Don’t do it anymore
God bless ya, love ya, ciao

NBA Youngboy Rides Out On “How Ya Kno”

It’s been years since NBA Youngboy was a budding star that was starting to gain the attention of larger-than-life industry figures. At this point, NBA Youngboy is a bonafide star with the numbers to back it. However, Birdman has expressed his appreciation for NBA Youngboy, and the faith he had in the young rapper’s potential.

For years, the two rappers hinted at the release of a joint project. And while we’ve received plenty of new music from NBA Youngboy, they finally came through with From The Bayou on Friday. Truthfully, it sounds like it’s largely an NBA Youngboy album with cameos from Birdman. “How Ya Know” stuck out immediately after the album’s release. Birdman isn’t featured on the record but Youngboy’s soulful melodies meet high-energy production for a stand-out on the project.

Check out the song below.

Quotable Lyrics
I can’t leave the house, but still, I got my diamond chains on
I got diamond rings on with a AP on my arm
Wet that boy then clean it up, n***a, I get ya stain gone

Pardison Fontaine Spoils Megan Thee Stallion In Celebration Of Her College Graduation

If you’ve kept up with Megan Thee Stallion’s rise to fame over the past few years, then you already know that she’s been living something of a double Hannah Montana life. While she’s cemented her status as one of the greatest female rappers in the game right now, she’s also been spending her time off stage and out of the studio living the unglamorous life of a student, scrambling to submit assignments on time.

Yesterday, our resident Hot Girl got to walk across the stage to receive her diploma. “Meg Thee Graudate,” she captioned her photo dump from the momentous occasion. “I know my parents are looking down on me so proud. Thank you everyone for all the love today.”

Fans and friends were quick to praise Thee Stallion for all of her hard work, and her boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine, took things one step further by spoiling his lover with some stunning designer treats. In a video uploaded to The Shade Room, the “Backin’ It Up” hitmaker can be heard saying, “You’re gonna be able to turn anything you want into Chanel” before handing over the bag.

As her pals began debating whether or not Fontaine had gifted Megan a magic wand of some sort, she began digging in, uncovering a dainty jewelry box filled with icy charms and pendants. He also rewarded her with a custom letterman jacket that clearly meant a lot, based on the “Freak Nasty” rapper’s expression.

Now that she’s got her education under her belt, there’s no telling what Megan Thee Stallion has in store for us next. She’s already promised a new album coming in 2022, and from the sounds of things, it may just be her best work yet.

Rick Ross Serves Award-Winning Flows On “The Pulitzer”

Whenever Rick Ross drops an album, you know that there’s a high-quality level that he’s bringing. Not only with the way he paints pictures with his words but also, his ear for beats and how that informs his penmanship. Richer Than I Ever Been captures the 45-year-old rapper in the glory of the work he’s put in over the 15+ years of his career with excellent lyricism and top-notch production.

The rapper joins forces with Timbaland, once again, for track 2 on the project, “The Pulitzer.” Timbo chefs up eerie keys with trance-inducing effects before Ross grasps the listener with a Mafioso-influenced lifestyle that only Bosses can relate to. On the hook, Ross’ flexes on his peers in the rap game with access to some of the greatest producers in the game, Timbaland included.

Quotable Lyrics
They watchin’ me close, even readin’ my lips
Bussin’ the .45, then I’m pleadin’ the fifth
And I’m leavin’ as if that’s a meeting I missed
Such a wonderful time, even blew ’em a kiss

50 Cent Drags Bow Wow’s Strip Club Fail Into Madonna Feud

There’s really no chill when it comes to 50 Cent but it doesn’t seem like Madonna knows that. In the past week, 50 Cent’s found a new victim in Madonna during his endless Internet shenanigans when she posted a photo of herself under a bed with her bum showing. The rapper, as he usually does, went in on her with ruthless trolling. However, Madonna didn’t hesitate to fire back

Fif eventually apologized, though Madonna issued a lengthy response as to why she didn’t think it was acceptable before calling the rapper out for misogyny and ageism. Ultimately, that’s when the gloves came off but somehow, Bow Wow got caught in the crossfire. After TheShadeRoom posted Madonna’s comments, Bow Wow liked the photo which only angered 50 Cent even further.

Remember when Fif caught Bow Wow pocketing his cash at the strip club? Well, that was brought up, once again, in an attempt to summon Fofty. Fif called out Bow Wow for his strip club etiquette for liking the post about Madonna.

“I see BOW WOW mad i told everybody he took that money home from that strip club,” Fif wrote. “Fool that money was for the dancers!”

Unlike Madonna, Bow Wow didn’t want smoke with 50 Cent and clarified his stance in the comment section. “I liked it cuz u dissed her fool if u swipe over its your post,” he commented.

Smart move, Shad.

Haiti Babii Shares “Not My Album, Vol. 1: Tour Bus”

After beginning the year with Trap Art in January, Haiti Babii is closing out 2021 with one last project – Not My Album, Vol. 1: Tour Bus. While the former saw him team up with Jackboy on “This That Shit” and Wyclef Jean on “Dangerous,” his latest arrival consists of just nine songs, and is completely featureless.

On “Love letter 2 SZA,” the 24-year-old can be heard spitting game about how bad he wants to be with the “Broken Clocks” singer, mentioning how he’s mesmerized by her thighs, among other things. Other titles on the tracklist carry similar energy, with Haiti Babii confidently talking his shit over the beat.

According to his Instagram, the rapper is trying to get SZA’s attention in hopes of getting a feature. He’s also been busy promoting other songs like “Guala Talk,” produced by Hermanata and ‘Soliloquy,” produced by Eric Tagg.

This year was a big one for the California-born recording artist, and 2022 looks like it will be even bigger. Haiti Babii recently revealed that on January 8th, he, YG, Mozzy, and some other friends will be performing at the Stockton Arena.

50 Cent Continues Trolling Madonna Despite Apologizing

50 Cent trolled Madonna on Instagram, Saturday night, after the legendary singer refused to accept 50’s apology for previously teasing her

“Well what a positive influence you are. LOL #likeavirgin63 challenge. I’m sorry, SORRY DIDN’T WORK!” 50 wrote in the new post.

The beef between Madonna and 50 started when the rapper trolled her for posting racy photos on Instagram.

50 later claimed that he didn’t intend to hurt her feelings and offered an apology in a since-deleted tweet: “I must have hurt Madonna feelings, she went and dug up a old MTV photo from 03 ok Im sorry i did not intend to hurt your feelings.I don’t benefit from this in anyway i said what i thought when i saw the picture because of where i had seen it before i hope you accept my apology.”

Madonna refused to accept his apology, labeling it “bullshit.”

“Essentially, you were trying to shame me. You were trying to humiliate me. Your apology is fake. It’s bullshit,” Madonna said, before explaining that “an apology is not valid if you don’t know what you’re apologizing for. What you should be apologizing for is your misogynistic, sexist, ageist behavior and remarks.”
