Drake & Adonis Adorably Enjoy Some Time Together On Christmas

All things considered, Drake has had a phenomenal year. From dropping Certified Lover Boy to patching things up with Kanye West, Drake has been doing it all. With each new album, he continues to build his resume, and fans don’t seem to get tired of his music. Needless to say, the Canadian artist is on one of the most impressive runs we have ever seen in the music industry.

Having said that, Drake is beginning to embrace his role as a family man, with his son Adonis being at the center of that mission. He has been hanging out with Adonis a ton, and you can tell that he is truly doing everything he can so that his son can have the most fulfilled life possible.

Today is Christmas, which means it is the perfect time to show appreciation to his son. The gift giving will certainly be plentiful, and in a video posted to Instagram last night, Drake was having a ton of fun playing with Adonis on Christmas Eve. In the clip below, the two can be seen rolling around on the floor, with Adonis trying to jump over his dad’s head. It is the type of father and son hijinks that you would get nostalgic for, and it’s great to see Drake in such a good place in his life.

The Holidays are the best when you are young, and it’s clear that Adonis will grow up with a ton of fond memories.

Playboi Carti’s “Stop Breathing” Was An Unexpected Christmas Delight

Playboi Carti dropped his highly-anticipated album Whole Lotta Red last year on Christmas. At the time, fans on Twitter were calling the album trash, however, in recent months, the album has been highly lauded as one of the best hip-hop projects in quite some time. There is a lot of replay value to be found here, and since today is Christmas, we figured it would be appropriate to provide you guys with a one-year throwback to one of the most hyped songs on the album, “Stop Breathing.”

This was easily Carti’s most aggressive track on WLR and it was one that had fans raging on Christmas Day while opening gifts. From the wild flows to violent lyrics to menacing production, this was the spiritual successor to “RIP” off of Die Lit. It’s a song that is still highly praised just a year later, and even if you don’t like this album, you probably at least like “Stop Breathing.” Sure, it’s not the easiest album to get into, but you can’t deny that it is filled with bangers.

Quotable Lyrics:

Pussy-ass n****s can’t hang ’round me (what? What? What? Go)
All these pussy-ass n****s liabilities (what?)
I’m so shiesty, I ain’t got a OG (what? Woo)
I keep the blicky, blicky just in case they try me (what? Blicky, what? Blicky)

Rico Nasty On Pandemic Takeaways, New Music & Potential Flo Milli Collab Project

Chicago hosted their first Red Bull SoundClash ever. Though the pandemic practically put an end to all shows in real life, the return of the Soundclash to American soil brought some unexpected line-ups. Atlanta hosted a clash between Westside Boogie and Shelley (f.k.a. D.R.A.M), while Chicago joined two of hip-hop’s most eccentric characters in the last decade to face-off against each other – Rico Nasty and Danny Brown. The pairing makes sense as there’s plenty of common ground they share – eccentric styles, distinctive voices, and a genuine rockstar flare that only a few carry authentically.

Just a couple of hours ahead of her battle against Danny Brown, Rico Nasty offered HNHH a few minutes of her time to divulge on her return to the stage. Though it got off to a bit of a rocky start post-pandemic as she joined Playboi Carti on his tour earlier this year, she was in high spirits about joining Danny Brown for such a special evening.

“I just figured it would be really fun. I was excited to just be able to do whatever I wanted to with my performance. I think that’s really cool,” she said, hours before bringing out Queen Key and covering Chief Keef’s “Faneto” in Chicago.

Aside from returning to actual stages, the Nightmare Vacation artist is currently enjoying the simple liberties of being outside, finally. Fans have hounded her for a follow-up to her December 2020 project but she explained that there’s a need to experience more of the post-pandemic world in order to inspire an entire body of work.

“I think a lot of things that people forget with artists is that in order to make art you have to experience it, you have to live, you have to go through stuff. With the pandemic, I didn’t really go through anything. I didn’t do anything,” she explained. “If you’re not really living life, then there’s nothing to talk about. So, expect new music, it’ll be lit. I just have to take everything in.”

During our short catch-up with Rico Nasty, she went into further detail about her current creative mindstate, touring again, and following up Nightmare Vacation.

HNHH: This line-up makes so much sense to have you two go head to head because of how eccentric he is and how out of the box you are. So, what was your first reaction when this SoundClash was proposed?

Rico Nasty: I just figured it would be really fun. I was excited to just be able to do whatever I wanted to with my performance. I think that’s really cool. You get to pick whatever beats. You get to pick whatever song we want to finish with – even if it’s not our song. Special guests. It seemed really cool.

Coming off of the pandemic, I know you’ve been doing a couple of shows. Rolling Loud looked crazy for you this year. What were some of the highs for you in terms of getting back into post-pandemic world?

It was really exciting for my son to start school. I was really scared about that. When you think pandemic, I was seeing so many kids I knew and obviously, the news and just like people weren’t going to school. I was just really scared that he would miss that experience that we all had of being able to go in class and have your friends and eat lunch and stuff. So, I was really happy about that. Obviously, the shows and stuff. I was very happy to be having those again because I was bored as f***.

What was the pandemic like for you? What were you up to?

Granted, I was still doing a lot of shows. I was doing a lot of virtual shows, which are kind of awkward, but shoutout to everybody who tuned into these and shoutout to everybody that booked me for those. We were all on the Zoom like, “This is equally awkward, but one day, life will be better than this.” Everybody was very optimistic. So, other than that, I learned how to cook during the pandemic which was cool because I’m getting older and I can’t keep eating fast food. It’s getting crazy out here. What else did I learn? I started working out. I think that was a pretty cool phase in my life.

How did you start preparing? Was there anything in particular in terms of how you felt you were going to approach this show that you had in mind? Obviously, it’s not like your regular setlist, right?

Yeah. Well, we did rehearsals yesterday which I thought was cool because I’ve never really – well, we do rehearsals sometimes, but I don’t really do rehearsals that much. It was cool seeing how we’re going to mesh the two. I mean, it’s two different stages. Seeing how we’re going to cut from one another. I thought that was really fun to see. I mean, I think I learned a lot. I’m going to be utilizing my voice tonight to the best ability. That’s going to be fun for people to hear me rap.

I know we just did an interview with you, you said The Nightmare Vacation follow-up isn’t currently in the works. So, what can fans expect from you in 2022?

I don’t know. I feel like people put so much pressure on what’s next and all this and I’m trying to take everything in right now, I guess. There will be new music. I’m not going to stop making music. I’m just a little busy right now. As soon as I’m able to go to the studio and actually lock-in and not just do like a two-hour session, then we lit. We back on it. I feel very inspired recently, and I’m very excited about the new music that I’m going to make.

I mean “Money” goes hard. I was bumping it this morning. I was like, “Dang, this s**t is so catchy.

Thank you.

Even with that, I know fans have been pressing you all about the collaborative project with Flo Milli, even creating little nicknames for a duo. For yourself, in the creative zone you’re in, how possible is that?

I feel like anything is possible once I’m able to be in the studio. Right now, with the tour, and then it’s about to be Christmas. I think a lot of things that people forget with artists is that in order to make art you have to experience it, you have to live, you have to go through stuff. With the pandemic, I didn’t really go through anything. I didn’t do anything. Kinda really not an inspiring time. I feel like right now, I’m living and everyday has been different. Like I said, I’m just trying to take it all in. I think the experiences are what make my music so fun. What makes you guys love it so much is because I talk about my life — funny s**t, weird s**t, I talk about it. If you’re not really living life, then there’s nothing to talk about. So, expect new music, it’ll be lit. I just have to take everything in.

Final question. The holidays are coming up, what are you most excited about?

Honestly, bro, I’m most excited about this elf on the shelf s**t my mom has going right now. It’s pretty funny. My mom keeps moving this elf all around the house and sending me pictures of it and I show my son and make-believe like the elf has been moving around the house. It’s just a really funny thing that we do. So, I’m excited to see Cam’s reaction to the elf on Christmas. Obviously, his gifts and stuff. I’m very excited to be with my family and bring in this new year. I know COVID had a lot of people sick, and it’s still getting a lot of people sick. A lot of people just want to spend time with their family.

Kodak Black Shares “Nightmare Before Christmas” Song & Visual

Rapper love getting into the holiday spirit…sort of. Gucci Mane is known for his East Atlanta Santa releases and Kodak Black added his offering today by sharing his new song, “Nightmare Before Christmas.” No, this track isn’t going to get you into the holiday spirit and isn’t intended for caroling, but instead, Kodak once again spits street bars about women, sex, catching court cases, and the thug life.

Prior to his Christmas Eve single, Kodak was spotted celebrating with his girlfriend as they invited their friends and family to their baby shower. The couple is reportedly expecting a baby girl in weeks to come, and during the event, Kodak gifted his lady with a new ring. There wasn’t an official announcement to confirm that the present was an engagement, but nevertheless, the rapper was excited about his growing family.

Stream “Nightmare Before Christmas” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

I tried to stay out of love ’cause I’d kill me a b*tch
I’m just f*cking and thugging and getting money to lit to commit
I got one ho riding my face another one riding my d*ck
Like I’m Santa Claus I’d check a n*gga off of list
I’m the nightmare before Christmas
Got a fish tank with no fishes

Cedric The Entertainer Points Finger At Police For Astroworld Tragedy

Astroworld continues to haunt Travis Scott as he attempts to move forward amid the pending lawsuits against him. The rapper surfaced at his annual Cactus Jack Foundation toy drive in Houston this week, and as he gave back to his hometown community once again, Cedric the Entertainer was weighing in on the festival tragedy that took the lives of 10 music fans.

Viewpoints regarding who’s to blame for what continues to mount as the court of public opinion points fingers in all directions. According to Cedric, the police are obviously at fault because they can reportedly be seen in the videos not responding to the distress of attendees.

The comedy icon told The Domenick Nati Show that Scott is purely an entertainer. “I looked at some of the videos and everything, I mean, the police were right there in front of them and they’re not reacting. That’s their job,” he said. Cedric couldn’t understand why people were targeting the rapper with blame and refuted claims that Scott encouraged the crowd surge that caused several deaths and injuries.

“Never was he up on stage yelling, ‘Let’s f*ck them up and turn it up and let’s go and let’s get wilder,’” Cedric added. “He didn’t incite it. I really wouldn’t like him to take the blame for that.” Watch the comedian’s interview below.

Cardi B Blasts Kim Potter Following Daunte Wright Shooting Conviction

Next for the Kim Potter case, the world will find out the disgraced police officer’s sentencing. This week, Potter was convicted of first- and second-degree manslaughter in connection to the Daunte Wright shooting. Potter was one of the officers who pulled Wright over during a traffic stop and when they found out he had an outstanding warrant, Wright reportedly struggled through his arrest. Potter shot and killed him at close range.

She would later call the incident an unfortunate mistake, stating that she meant to grab for her Taser but instead accidentally reached for and fired off her gun. Prior to her conviction, Potter gave a tearful testimony where she sobbed on the stand as she recounted what occurred that fateful day. Cardi B wasn’t convinced by her tears.

On Twitter, Cardi joined tens of thousands of others who have been tweeting away about this controversy. She shared a screenshot showing Potter’s most recent mugshot where the former officer is seen giving a wide smile to the camera.

“It’s funny to me how her cries seemed so fake but her smile seems so genuine #itwasneveramistake,” Cardi tweeted. A fan said they were confused as to why Potter was smiling. The rapper answered, “She’s smiling cause she only got manslaughter also because now she don’t have to fake it and she CAN LIVE IN HER TRUTH…Her truth is ‘ yea I killed him and what?!'”

“That’s the truth she been wanting to say but had to act like she was sorry.” Potter faces upwards of 15 years behind bars, but many don’t expect her to receive anywhere near that many years in prison. Check out Cardi’s tweets below.

Trevor Noah Sues Hospital, Alleges Surgery Rendered Him “Lame & Disabled”: Report

This week, it was shared that Trevor Noah underwent some sort of surgery last year, and while the exact details of the procedure are unclear, the comedian has filed a lawsuit against his surgeon and medical facility. According to the Los Angeles Times, Noah filed a malpractice lawsuit against “orthopedic surgeon Dr. Riley J. Williams III and the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan last month, accusing them of professional negligence and seeking unspecified damages.”

The suit reportedly doesn’t specify why Noah needed the surgery, but he alleges that for a time, Noah was “disabled” after his November 2020 procedure.

Noah also alleges a medical professional of “failing to diagnose and properly treat the condition” he had, further claiming that The Daily Show host was “rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled.” His injuries were described as “severe and painful,” and he cites “nervous shock, mental anguish, and severe emotional distress.” Noah was reportedly bedridden for “a long period of time.”

“Since some of his injuries are of a permanent nature, he will continue to suffer similar damages in the future,” the document said under each cause of action. It’s unclear how Noah’s alleged ailments affected production on “The Daily Show,” which took a three-month hiatus over the summer and returned in September. Representatives for the late-night series did not immediately respond Monday to The Times’ request for additional comment. Nor did Noah’s attorney Justin Blitz, who filed the lawsuit.

The hospital denies the allegations and issued a statement to the L.A. Times.

“HSS received a complaint filed on behalf of Mr. Trevor Noah. We have shared with Mr. Noah’s attorney a detailed rebuttal to the claims, which are meritless,” a representative stated. “Due to HIPAA we are restricted by law from addressing publicly specific aspects of the treatment of any patient… [The hospital is] committed to excellence in the care we provide to each of the more than 150,000 patients we treat each year.”

Roddy Ricch Said He Called Out The Grammys For Snubbing Lil Baby And Lil Uzi Vert

As one of the few younger rappers who has been recognized by the Grammys recently, Roddy Ricch has more of a relationship with the Recording Academy than some of his peers. At the 2020 awards, Roddy was nominated for a whopping six nominations, including nods for both Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year. Anyone who has followed the conversation around the Grammys and hip-hop over the years knows that they haven’t always gotten it right in the past.

During an appearance on Kevin Durant’s The ETCs Podcast last week, Roddy told KD that after his 2020 nominations he was “tripping” on the Grammys for snubbing a few of his peers. “Uzi is like, like when I was talking to the Grammy’s ‘y’all ain’t nominate Uzi for [Best Rap Album],’ I was tripping on them,” he remembered. “Even like Lil Baby, y’all ain’t nominate Lil Baby? Like I’m tripping, cause it’s like everybody got their own lane, and it should be spoken about, talked about more because I feel like the n——s now that’s doing shi* like, no disrespect, we really breaking barriers.”

In the year where Roddy received all his nominations, the projects from Uzi and Baby that would’ve been eligible are Lil Baby’s My Turn and Lil Uzi Vert’s long-awaited release, Eternal Atake, which were both released in 2020 as well. In fact, Baby’s My Turn was the best-selling album of 2020 (!) — even beating out Taylor Swift’s Folklore.

Roddy also told KD that instead of competition, he feels like it’s more of a collaborative vibe within the new cohort. “I feel like it’s more for sure more a collaboration because we run into each other more,” he said. “But I feel like everybody got their own lane, everybody got their thing they do, you know what I’m saying?”

Lil Uzi Vert Almost Fights A Man As Woman Holds Him Back In Viral Video

Things got a bit heated in a clothing store between Lil Uzi Vert and a man. A brief clip of the confrontation has begun to circulate online after the man shared bits and pieces to social media. In a video, the man is recording Uzi charging him while a masked woman holds the rapper back. “Yo bro, leave it alone, bro, just leave it alone,” someone is heard saying off-camera.

“You wanna fight?” the man behind the camera questions Uzi. In another clip, the man threatens Uzi by saying, “Yo, I’mma f*ck your b*tch, too, she wanna suck my d*ck.”

The videos move pretty quickly and as the story develops, the public has been trying to determine if the woman in the video is Uzi’s girlfriend, JT. Many have stated that it obviously isn’t her because the woman in the video has a different skin tone, but others are arguing that it’s the lighting. Whatever the case may be, the woman is being hailed for keeping Uzi out of harm’s way because the last thing anyone needs is a holiday lawsuit.

Uzi hasn’t commented on the confrontation and it is unclear what led to the tension. Check out the video below.
