Russell Westbrook’s Brother Defends Him In Testy Twitter Spaces Session

Russell Westbrook has been having a difficult season with the Los Angeles Lakers. From turnovers to poor shooting, Russ has been the worst version of himself, and fans are starting to grow tired of the poor performances. Of course, this isn’t all Westbrook’s fault, however, he simply hasn’t contributed enough for this Lakers team to really be taken seriously as title contenders.

Westbrook has been adamant about defending himself in the media, and he has also taken responsibility for his own play. Recently, however, the Twitter slander against Russ was so strong that his brother Ray decided to get involved. Over the weekend, Ray participated in a large Twitter spaces discussion, and it led to interesting arguments about what’s happening with the point guard.

“I’m a realist when it comes to basketball. Yes, he turns the ball over. Yes, he misses layups. But y’all on here really talking some straight bullshit,” Ray said. “I’m not going to let somebody come on here just to slander my brother.”

While Ray tried his best to make good points, others were simply not standing for it. In the clips below, you can hear fans ridiculing Ray’s praise for DeAndre Jordan and Steven Adams, all while trying to suggest that Russ needs glasses. It was all ridiculous and at times disrespectful, which is what we come to expect from NBA Twitter at this point.

If you’re a Lakers fan, there is a lot to be frustrated about right now, although there are still 39 games left to be played. With that in mind, time is still on the team’s side, at least for now.

Troy Ave Drops Off “Why God Nadine” ft. Trapboy Freddy

Troy Ave’s momentum isn’t dying down this year. The rapper emerged in 2021 with the release of Kill or Be Killed and God Is Great Paper Straight which arrived in December. Unfortunately for fans, they didn’t receive another installment on White Christmas ahead of the holidays but he does have another project in the pipeline.

With The 2022 Season expected to drop on Jan. 21st, Troy Ave unloaded another three songs for his fans in the past week, “Rich & Ruthless,” “Dracos & Glocks” ft. Soulja Boy, and “Why God Nadine” ft Trapboy Freddy. The Trapboy Freddy-assisted single is the latest of the bunch to drop. Produced by Team Nova Boyz, Troy Ave and Trapboy Freddy reflect on losing loved ones to cancer.

Check the song below.

Quotable Lyrics
I lost my Granny to cancer
I still need me some answers
Had me locked down in shackles
I was sellin’ weed, it wasn’t enough, I need it faster
I never met my daddy so they labeled me a bastard

Gunna Allegedly Responds To Bay Area “Pushin P” Controversy

Atlanta rapper Gunna has come under fire for allegedly stealing the term “Pushin P” from the Bay Area, as claimed by many natives in the San Francisco area, but the DS4EVER artist claims he actually heard the term from his father.

As Gunna navigated his latest controversy, which stems from his new single “Pushin P,” the rapper is fighting back against Bay Area natives who claim he took their slang and appropriated it for his new trend. As you’ve surely seen, “P” emojis have absolutely taken over social media with hip-hop fans reacting to Gunna’s new album but the 28-year-old swears he didn’t jack anything from the Bay Area.

“Bra.. My [P]ops taught me how to be a [P]laya looongggg time ago p! A real [P] would never hate on the next [P]! Pz are WorldWide!”

His comment comes as many Bay Area-based artists are angry that an Atlanta resident is running off with their slang. Do you think P is universal, or should it remain in the Bay Area?

If you’re still unsure of what P even means, Gunna previously described the term (using multiple different definitions) here. Watch the music video for “Pushin P” below.

Ex-NYPD Sergeant Who Dated & Moved Drugs For 6ix9ine’s Nine Trey Bloods Gang Avoids Jail Time

Arlicia Robinson’s recent day in court went in her favour, NY Daily News reports. On Thursday, January 13th, the ex-NYPD sergeant – who was arrested for her role as a heroin drug mule for the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods – was sentenced to a four-year supervised release on probation by Manhattan Federal Court Judge Alvin Hellerstein.

“I know now and I always will that what I did was wrong,” the mother of three said during a virtual court date. “I take full responsibility for my poor decision-making and behaviour. I was not thinking clearly and was not thinking straight.”

According to HipHopDX, Robinson has allegedly been romanticly involved with two members of the infamous gang – Kristian Cruz, known as a “five-star general” who’s estimated to have “sold $2 to $3 million in heroin and fentanyl,” and Aaron “Bat” Young, who was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for his criminal involvement.

Before she was arrested in 2018, the former police officer witnessed a rival drug dealer shoot Young, which she reportedly went on to lie about to a grand jury.

The 41-year-old is said to have been living a “double life” in 2017; she spent her days “overseeing 22 housing projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Williamsburg, and downtown Brooklyn,” and her nights affiliating with members of 6ix9ine’s gang, and “[ferrying] drugs for them because she drew less attention.”

Robinson’s traumatic upbringing may have led her to the messy situation she wound up in. “Both her parents died when she was 7,” Attorney Justine Harris explained. “She was raised by a series of different loving family members but very unstable home situations. She was a victim as a child of repeated sexual abuse and assault between the ages of 9 and 13.”

It was recommended by federal guidelines that she should serve five years, but the mental manipulation and physical abuse Robinson faced in her relationship with Young prompted U.S. Attorney Sebastian Swett to ask Herrenstein to reconsider. “He is a dangerous and destructive man,” Swett said of the gang member.

“I don’t think you can overstate, you know, just how dangerous he is. We can vouch for the fact that he was a bad, bad man.”

Hellerstein has also acknowledged that, while moonlighting as a drug mule, Robinson “never directly abused her position as a cop.”

“All of us have an inner turmoil that can prevent correct decision-making. And sometimes, that inner turmoil rises to such a degree because of the deprivations of life and childhood and abuse and the like that robs an individual of being able to make an autonomous decision. It’s very hard to find a condition of life more difficult than the conditions Ms. Robinson went through,” he said.”

He continued, addressing the ex-sergeant directly, “One of the purposes of punishment is to rehabilitate a person. You’ve shown, Ms. Robinson, your own rehabilitation — even before your punishment — by choosing a life of helping others and supporting your family and your children. And making yourself clean and strong to do those things is highly commendable.”

Dak Prescott Blames Refs Following Bad Loss To The 49ers

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys lost another playoff game on Sunday as they fell to the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 23-17. It was the only upset of the entire weekend, however, given the Cowboys’ recent history, the loss was hardly surprising. “America’s Team” was able to keep things close towards the end, and they were even able to get in striking distance with just a few seconds left, however, the officiating crew could not set the ball down on time, which ultimately forced the Cowboys to miss out on one final play.

Immediately after the game, Cowboys players were pelted with debris from the crowd. The referees were also hit with some objects, and it was quite the stain on what was an otherwise clean game. As you can see below, the anger of the Dallas crowd was on full display.

Prescott was asked about the crowd’s behavior, and at first, he was pretty appalled by it. However, when a reporter claimed that the debris was meant for the officiating crew, Prescott changed his tone, blaming the refs for how the game played out. He then gave a light co-sign to the fanbase’s actions, saying “credit to them.”

“The fans felt the same way as us,” Prescott said. “I guess that’s why the refs took off and got out of there so fast. I think everybody is upset with the way this thing played out.”

Now, the 49ers will play the Green Bay Packers next Saturday, while Prescott and his teammates will start their vacation early. For many Cowboys haters, this was the best-case scenario.

LeBron James Apologizes To Lakers Fans Amid 3-Game Losing Streak

LeBron James has been trying to carry the Los Angeles Lakers this season, although it is clear that not even his performances can uplift them to a higher status in the Western Conference. For much of the season, fans have been complaining about Russell Westbrook’s terrible turnover ratios, all while some of the Lakers’ role players have simply been abysmal when it matters most.

Having said that, fans are starting to get fed up, especially following a 37-point loss to the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are now on a three-game losing streak and are on the verge of being knocked out of playoff contention. This is simply unacceptable, and LeBron is well aware of this. In fact, he recently took to Twitter where he apologized to fans for what’s been happening.

#LakerNation I apologize and I promise we’ll be better!” he wrote. Of course, LeBron has been just fine out on the court and he is the least of the Lakers’ problems right now. Regardless, fans are starting to get antsy about the Lakers, and it’s a reasonable feeling given the circumstances. This team was supposed to be at the top of the standings, and they have simply been the most disappointing entity in the NBA this year.

It remains to be seen if the Lakers can turn things around, however, they still have half of a season to get it done. Simply put, time is on their side.

T.I. Says “No One Is F**king” With His Catalog

T.I. doesn’t think there’s another artist in the game whose catalog can stand next to his. The rapper has been fighting for his credit ever since Verzuz took off and he began aiming at rap’s elite to stand against him in the ring. He went after Jay-Z before declining to battle Busta Rhymes. And in recent times, there have been discussions to see T.I. and Lil Flip go song-for-song.

T.I. hasn’t necessarily chimed in on Verzuz in recent months but over the weekend, he made it clear that he stands on every single record that he’s released throughout his career. During an IG Live stream, the rapper said that he’s the best at releasing music. “When you talk about doing music, bruh. You talkin’ ’bout cuttin’ records, n***a, you talkin’ ’bout puttin’ shit out, you talkin’ ’bout make some shit that’s better than this that ain’t out there, man, nobody fuckin’ with me,” he said before acknowledging people’s personal preference in their musical palette.

“You might like somebody else better. It might be somebody else, you know, ‘I like this better than I like T.I.’ Okay, fine. ‘Cause you like them better,” he continued. “That’s cool. That’s your preference. But when it comes to puttin’ shit out there, ain’t nobody f*cking with me, man. You play their shit next to my shit — ain’t nobody f*cking with me, n***a. I don’t give a f*ck ’bout none of that sh*t.”

T.I. said that even though he tries to have a sense of humility, he declared that no one ever outdid him on a collaborative effort. Additionally, he said that he’s confident that his catalog can stand with some of the most revered artists of our time. “Nobody fuckin’ with me, n***a. Jay and all. Yeah, you need to bring them. Bring them, n***a,” he continued. “That’s who you need. Jay, Nas, Wayne, Ye. N***a, that’s who you need. Bring them. Pusha T. Yeah, all them.”

Pope Francis Left The Vatican To Visit A Record Store And He Got A Mystery CD

Vinyl records are currently the physical music format of choice: In 2020, they outsold CDs for the first time since the ’80s. However, when you narrow the scope down to just recent physical music acquisitions by Pope Francis, leader of the Catholic Church, CDs are in first place: The Telegraph reports that last week, Francis made “a rare private foray” to visit Stereosound, a record store in Rome, and while there, he was gifted a mystery CD.

Tiziana Esposito, one of Stereosound’s owners, told The Telegraph, “He was here for maybe 20 minutes, just time for us to have a chat. It was an honor, very emotional. He is a great person, a simple man but marvelous. He used to come here before he became pope, when he was the archbishop of Buenos Aires and visiting Rome. This time we gave him a present, a CD, but I’m not telling anyone what it was.”

Letizia Giostra, another of the store’s owners, also told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera (as Catholic News Service notes), “The Holy Father is passionate about music and was already our client, years ago, when he was still a cardinal and would pass through Rome. Then, of course, we never saw him again. And now he came to visit us, to say hello.”

Aside from the CD, Francis was also seen holding a vinyl record as he left the store, of which Giostra said, “It’s a gift we gave him, a record of classical music.”

In a 2016 interview, Francis noted he missed being able to do everyday things like go out and get some pizza, saying, “I could order it, but it is not the same. It’s nice to go there.” In a 2013 interview with America Magazine, Francis noted of his favorite composers, “Among musicians, I love Mozart, of course. The ‘Et incarnatus est’ from his Mass in C minor is matchless; it lifts you to God! I love Mozart performed by Clara Haskil. Mozart fulfills me. But I cannot think about his music; I have to listen to it. I like listening to Beethoven, but in a Promethean way, and the most Promethean interpreter for me is Furtwängler. And then Bach’s Passions. The piece by Bach that I love so much is the ‘Erbarme Dich,’ the tears of Peter in the ‘St. Matthew Passion.’ Sublime. Then, at a different level, not intimate in the same way, I love Wagner. I like to listen to him, but not all the time. The performance of Wagner’s ‘Ring’ by Furtwängler at La Scala in Milan in 1950 is for me the best. But also the ‘Parsifal’ by Knappertsbusch in 1962.”

Skip Bayless Down Horrendous Following Cowboys Playoff Loss

When the Dallas Cowboys took to the field to play against the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round yesterday, fans were expecting the Cowboys to completely choke. In the end, that is exactly what they did as they got off to a horrendous start that had them down 23-6. Eventually, Dallas was able to slowly make a comeback, although they fell short as they eventually lost the game 23-17.

The Cowboys had a chance to win it late, but poor clock management ultimately cost them a win, and it was only made worse as the official wasn’t able to set the ball in time for the Cowboys to get another chance at the end zone.

This sequence of events had Skip Bayless in shambles as his beloved Cowboys lost another winnable playoff game. As you can see in the tweets below, Bayless was inconsolable, and it made for a pretty hilarious tweeting spree.

“WHAT??????? THE UMPIRE KNOCKED DAK OVER. DAK WAS READY. THE UMPIRE WAS LATE!!! HE DID NOT DO HIS JOB QUICKLY ENOUGH. COWBOYS SHOULD’VE HAD ONE SHOT AT THE END ZONE FROM THE 20. DOABLE!!! JUST ABSURD,” Bayless wrote. “I’ll be the first to admit the Cowboys didn’t deserve to win after committing 14 penalties. BUT THEY DID DESERVE THAT LAST SHOT TO PULL OFF THE MIRACLE. THE UMPIRE BLEW IT. THEY WERE ROBBED OF A SHOT AT YET ANOTHER COWBOYS-49ERS STUNNER. JUST MAKES ME BLEEPIN SICK.”

Bayless then posted a picture of himself in which he appeared to be in real physical pain over the loss. Needless to say, this morning’s episode of Undisputed is going to be a bit of a doozy.

Let us know what you thought about the game, in the comments down below.
