Logic Recalls Eminem Agreeing To “Homicide” Collab & Calling Him To Open Show

Eminem has helped inspire a generation of rappers looking to get an inch of his success, and Logic hasn’t minced words when praising the Detroit. There aren’t many artists who can boast about landing Eminem bars on a track. However, Logic did just that when he partnered with Marshall Mathers on “Homicide.” It was a collaboration that found much success, and Logic is sharing how it happened.

“I got called that he likes the song. He’s gonna do the song,” Logic told DJ Whoo Kid for his Whoo’s House podcast. “And a week later, I get a call that’s like, ‘Yo, Em wants you to go open up for him in Hawaii at a stadium. Oh, sh*t! So hyped! You don’t understand, bro. I used to put, ‘Forgot About Dre,’ I used to have my sister put that sh*t from a radio on a cassette. She would put it back and forth, so it would be all the way on Side A and all the way on Side B.”

Logic recalled what I was like going to open for a Rap goat. He said he ran into Royce Da 5’9″, who he called “the homie,” and The Alchemist was also there. “And then here comes f*ckin’ Eminem with a beard that’s new… And he was so f*cking cool, bro. He’s the biggest Rap nerd.” Em apparently pulled out a CD and plays Logic’s track to the DMV star’s surprise.

“I was like, is he gonna have a verse?!” Logic also said. “And he killed it! Me and him were like ‘this’ on the record.” Logic motioned his hands to show that they were even. “I didn’t get son’ed… It just felt like it was our record. It wasn’t anybody trying to one-up” anyone else.

Last year, during an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Logic spoke on being amazed that Eminem was familiar with him. “I didn’t even know Eminem knew who I was when I met him couple of years ago,” Logic shared at the time. “He shouted me out on a record. And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is amazing! And the next day, we are on a song together. He’s one of the illest dudes.”
