Alleged YSL Member Stabs YFN Lucci In Prison In New Clip From YSL Trial

Although Young Thug is now a free man and YFN Lucci could soon be free as well, the YSL RICO trial continues with other codefendants. The reason why we mention Lucci’s case is because of a new piece of video evidence that surfaced during YSL trial proceedings. For those unaware, he was stabbed by an alleged YSL member, Jayden Myrick (also known as YSL Tripp), in March of 2022 – per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution – before the YSL RICO indictment or arrests had even arrived. This is notable due to the purported feud between both groups. In fact, this incident reportedly contributed heavily to how prosecutors built that case.

Now, prosecutors shared the footage of the YFN Lucci stabbing during the YSL RICO trial on Tuesday (November 5). This was during the testimony of Aaron Wolford, the retired head of Fulton County Jail’s security (the prison where Lucci was stabbed), according to journalist Meghann Cuniff. It was the 156th day in the case with two remaining defendants: Shannon Stillwell and Deamonte Kendrick, also known as Yak Gotti. Prosecutors claim that this supports the notion that YSL members carried out criminal acts on behalf of the collective. Also, they allege that this stabbing resulted in the retaliatory murder of Shymel Drinks, per Cuniff. You can watch footage of the trial below, but viewer discretion is advised.

YSL Trial Sees Footage Of Alleged Member Stabbing YFN Lucci

Furthermore, it’s important to make note of Jayden Myrick, the alleged YSL member who stabbed YFN Lucci. The court ordered him to undergo a mental evaluation after he claimed that Donald Trump offered him legal advice. Nevertheless, we still don’t know how else there could be overlap between Lucci and YSL’s situations. As for the former, a recently reported parole update indicates that he could be out of jail by January of next year.

As for the rest of the YSL trial, a juror recently vowed to oppose the prosecution due to the case’s lengthy nature. That remains one of the most controversial parts of this whole legal process, but evidence continues to emerge. We still don’t know the timeline for the two remaining codefendants. But YFN Lucci could at least go home soon, if reports are accurate.

YFN Lucci’s Attorney Issues Motion Demanding Speedy Trial

YFN Lucci’s RICO case has been in the courts for a long time, but there’s been little progression when it comes to bringing it fully underway. In that meantime, various developments came into effect, but none that have fully kept the trial moving, for understandable or confusing reasons. As such, the rapper’s legal team seeks to apply pressure to the court to move it forward as much as they can within a specific timeframe. Moreover, his attorney filed a motion demanding a speedy trial on Wednesday (August 30) that details its conditions and expectations. Apparently, if the court agrees, they could acquit the Atlanta MC of all charges if his trial doesn’t fully begin soon.

“I hereby certify that I have on this day served a true and correct copy of the within and foregoing DEMAND FOR SPEEDY TRIAL upon all parties or counsel of record via US Postal Service, hand delivery, or the Court’s e-filing system,” the motion reads. “Submitted this the 30th day of August, 2023. …Prosecutor and Judge’s chambers with a copy of this Demand For Speedy Trial. Therefore, Mr. Bennett respectfully requests that he be tried at this Term of Court or at the next Term of Court or the following Term of this Court. In default of such trial, [he requests] that he be fully acquitted and discharged of said offenses lodged against him in the instant Indictment.”

YFN Lucci’s Lawyer’s Speedy Trial Motion

Reportedly, these court terms refer to the next six months, which sets a deadline for the court to try YFN Lucci. That seems quite optimistic considering the trajectory of the trial so far. Still, it’s possible that the court came close to putting this case in motion. While this motion seems like a Hail Mary, this legal battle is no stranger to surprises.

Meanwhile, among the most notable recent happenings in this case is that the 32-year-old denied a plea deal. Furthermore, it seems like he and his team want to fight this without resorting to extracurricular methods. They fought hard to get to this point, and this extra pressure could force authorities to avoid the risk of letting him go. YFN Lucci Trial: New Photo Of Rapper Surfaces From Jail

Rapper YFN Lucci remains behind bars in Georgia as he awaits the start of his trial on the charges of murder and racketeering. At the time of writing, he has been incarcerated for 948 after being arrested in January 2021. However, court proceedings have been on hold for some time, leaving the rapper to languish behind bars. Meanwhile, the primary reason for Lucci’s trial delay has been the ongoing trial for Young Thug and the rest of YSL. Lucci’s trial will likely be further delayed following the indictment of former President Donald Trump, which was announced last week.

Amid all of this, an image of Lucci has been released. Dressed in a classic black and white jail jumpsuit, Lucci has dreads and looks entirely despondent. “Lucci’s trial date has been postponed. No new court date has been set,” the rapper’s attorney said earlier this week.

Lucci’s Role In YSL Case Reason For Delay

The primary reason for the delay in Lucci’s case is that Lucci is actually part of the YSL case. “YFN Lucci’s trial was due to begin January 9, same as Young Thug’s. The YFN gang and RICO case is just as wide-ranging as the YSL case,” Chidi tweeted. “The two are connected; Lucci is a witness,” tweeted journalist George Chidi. “And here we go. For clarification: Lucci is on the state’s witness list. That doesn’t mean he’s going to testify, but he could still be called. Don’t @ me with questions about snitching. I don’t care.”

However, it’s the possibility that Lucci could be called to testify means that his trial cannot start. Prosecutors would not want to begin only to be postponed if he was called to testify in the YSL case. This comes as more twists emerge in the YSL case. Last week, a warrant was ordered on the laptop of attorney Eric Johnson. Johnson had been accused of allowing one of his clients, Christian Eppinger, to use his laptop to contact people and YSL contacts outside of prison. Previously, the investigation into Eppinger’s conduct led to the arrest of a Fulton County deputy, who was reportedly in a romantic relationship with Eppinger. Given the chaotic state of the YSL trial, it’s unclear how long Lucci’s trial will remain delayed.
