Rockstar Games Releases Statement After ‘GTA VI’ Gameplay Leak

Over the weekend, Rockstar Games suffered a leak, sending unfinished gameplay of Grand Theft Auto VI on the Internet.

Following the leak, Rockstar released a statement, citing a “network intrusion” error.

“We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.

We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone again soon and, of course, will properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready. We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support through this situation.”

NBA 2K23 is now available to gamers across the globe. Joining the video game world is MTN DEW which provides a ton of new in-game experiences.

Dr. Disrespect, a larger-than-life character, boosts an in-game MTN DEW advertisement. In NBA 2K23, players will be able to engage with Dr Disrespect as they take on a series of tasks for the first time in gaming history. Fans who successfully complete the challenges will be rewarded with an MTN DEW billboard featuring their MyPlayer avatar alongside Doc in The City as the grand prize. This is the first time a gaming influencer has been integrated into NBA 2K23. 

The DEW Zone and The DEW Zone Balls are all returning to NBA 2K23 along with the MTN DEW 3-Point Contest. In this rip-off of the storied IRL All-Star tournament, the finest 3-point shooters in the league will have the chance to compete against one another. In NBA 2K23, the MTN DEW-branded half-court is back with improved graphics, including one with a Flavorverse theme that will be available in the first half of 2023.

As the brand’s Non-Playable Character (NPC), MTN DEW has chosen NBA All-Star and DEW Athlete Zion Williamson to be stationed at the MTN DEW half court and posing challenges to MyPlayers who dare to take on one of the greatest in the league. Half court contestants will receive unique gifts that may be used to level up their MyPlayers.

Beginning on Friday, Sept. 9, the company will launch a number of contests on their new social media account, @mtndewgaming, where customers can sign up for a chance to win both physical and digital rewards by meeting requirements. The MTN DEW Trike in real life, in-game enhancements, gaming kits, and other items are among the prizes.

According to a press release from 2K, the official mobile version of the NBA 2K basketball game, NBA 2K23 Arcade Edition, will debut on Apple Arcade on October 18.

At launch, NBA players from the current NBA season, including Devin Booker, the NBA 2K23 cover athlete, and NBA legends like Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal, and others, will be available for fans to play in the brand-new, exclusive “The Greatest” mode.

With commentary from NBA play-by-play broadcasters and color commentators, including Kevin Harlan, Brian Anderson, Greg Anthony, Grant Hill, and Doris Burke, for the first time, players will also experience more immersive and realistic NBA gameplay.

NBA 2K23 Gives New Layout to ‘The City’ in PS5 and XBOX Series X|S Users

New enhancements for The City in NBA 2K23 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players were announced by 2K today. The City has undergone numerous changes, seamless MyCAREER mode connections, and much more.

“The City is an incredibly authentic way for players to experience basketball culture. Tying MyCAREER closely with the City lets players truly live out their career in a unique way on their journey to legendary status on and off the court,” said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at 2K and Visual Concepts. “Community feedback has been key in the new innovations we’ve added and we look forward to players experiencing everything we’ve brought to NBA 2K23 this year.”

The City is a little smaller than in NBA 2K22 to improve the experience, based on community comments. Relocated and transformed into thematic places that genuinely capture the true character of each city, completely redesigned boroughs are included. Fast Travel stations have also been introduced so that you can swiftly move about the city.

The City’s exact center is where gamers can find all of the great content in one central area, the Block, the new mecca of competitiveness. The Theater will be a central location for playing instant matchmaking games in place of the warehouse structures. The four events on the playlist will change every Friday to four new events. If MyPLAYERS can demonstrate they have what it takes to become friends with J. Cole in MyCAREER during their journey to win over the City, they will have access to Dreamville Studio, which was founded by Grammy-nominated musician and producer J. Cole.

The Arena, a brand-new facility to play MyCAREER games, offers a pre-game ambiance with a vast plaza. Players will enter the game, demonstrate their skills in front of the waiting media, accomplish any available tasks, and more before taking questions from the media after the game. The Jordan Challenge Building will give players quick access to the new in-game mode, while the Event Center’s brand-new design and appearance bring a new degree of flair for such an important building.

Players will once more be able to access new content through Seasons and earn rewards without paying additional fees. Seasons will also return to the City, bringing with them a new batch of goodies that may be made every six weeks. More details about Season 1’s upcoming content will be available at launch. ‘PGA TOUR 2K23’ Reveals List of Licensed Courses for This Year’s Game

PGA TOUR® 2K23‘s official licensed courses were made public by 2K today. In addition to the 17 courses from PGA TOUR 2K21 that are returning, three new courses—the South Course of Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, and St. George’s Golf and Country Club—complete the list of 20 courses that are currently playable, giving players access to 360 distinct fairways and dance floors.

Aerial drone footage, lidar data, high-resolution photography, and supporting assets provided by the management of each course are used by 2K and HB Studios to create flawless in-game representations of real-world courses. This ensures that each course is true to life and has realistic structures, signage, hazards, fairways, greens, and climate. The method guarantees the most real-world PGA TOUR video game experience to date. Down to the last detail, courses like Riviera Country Club, which hosts the Genesis Open and was recently designated by the PGA TOUR as an upgraded tournament for the upcoming season, genuinely shine.

The full list of courses available at launch in PGA TOUR 2K23 includes:

Triple Threat Online: Co-Op, all-new cards and incentives, as well as the removal of contracts, are just a few of the new features and enhancements that 2K today unveiled for NBA® 2K23’s MyTEAM. Additionally, the $250,000 MyTEAM Unlimited Tournament*, which features two tracks for Playstation® 4 and Xbox One consoles and Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, is back for gamers to participate in.

“We’ve implemented a number of highly requested changes to MyTEAM this year that were top of mind for our community, including the removal of contracts, along with the addition of Triple Threat Online: Co-Op that allows players to team up with friends for the first time ever to test their skills in Co-Op 3v3 online gameplay”, said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at 2K and Visual Concepts. “We expect to see some exciting match-ups with the return of our annual $250,000 MyTEAM Unlimited Tournament as the best NBA 2K players go head-to-head to prove their skills on the virtual court!”

In the first Clubhouse Report, a developer blog with all the details on the PGA gaming franchise, 2K today provided details on a number of new features coming to PGA TOUR® 2K23. As a first look at PGA TOUR 2K23, a thrilling, action-packed trailer titled “More Golf. More Game” was also made public.

The new 3-click swing option, playable pros, licensed courses, MyPLAYERS, MyCAREER, Course Designer, and other PGA TOUR 2K23 subjects are all covered in The Clubhouse Report. Future Clubhouse Reports will provide further information on the subjects of anticipated announcements. The trailer also gives viewers a glimpse of how pros, courses, and MyPLAYERS operate.
