Michael Jordan Unveiled as NBA 2K23 Cover Star on Two Special Editions of Forthcoming Game

Michael Jordan a 14-time NBA All-Star, five-time Kia NBA MVP, six-time NBA World Champion, and member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, will be featured on the covers of both the NBA® 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and the NBA® 2K23 Championship Edition, according to a 2K announcement.

Because of Jordan’s career, the NBA became a worldwide phenomenon, and he became well-known and had a lasting influence on basketball. Jordan, the GOAT of the NBA, is the ideal representation of this year’s advertising theme, “Answer the Call,” for NBA 2K‘s 24th anniversary. Jordan comes back to star on two NBA 2K23 covers as an athlete who always rose to the occasion, providing an opportunity for both old and new fans to honor a talent who awed the globe throughout his career.

“After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for NBA 2K23 we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition,” said Alfie Brody, Vice President of Global Marketing Strategy for NBA 2K. “Additionally, we’re thrilled to introduce a brand new premium edition of the game with the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition, as no other player embodies the word ‘champion’ like Jordan. This limited-edition version will also offer players the opportunity to catch on-court action throughout the season with a 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass* included. We look forward to celebrating this game with the community when it’s released on September 9.”

The Jordan Challenge, which challenges players to replicate 15 memorable moments from Michael Jordan’s brilliant career, will be brought back in NBA 2K23 along with Jordan’s return to the game’s cover art. For a brand-new generation of players to experience, all ten of the original Challenges from NBA 2K11 have been entirely rebuilt from the ground up and will return this year, along with five new classic Jordan moments. These Challenges, each with its own game style, make use of more than ten years’ worth of technical advancements to offer a totally new way to experience Jordan’s accomplishments.

The Jordan Challenge also highlights a variety of mesmerizing performances from Jordan’s college, NBA, and Team USA Basketball careers, which players can experience across all 15 Challenges. It also features original video vignettes with special commentary from a variety of NBA greats, including Jordan’s teammates, rivals, and other sports figures who witnessed him perform live and can help a new generation of NBA fans understand his legacy. Later this summer, further information about The Jordan Challenge in NBA 2K23 will be made available.

One of the most renowned sportsmen in NBA and NBA 2K history, Michael Jordan is featured on the cover of NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and NBA 2K23 Championship Edition for the fourth time overall. Prior to NBA 2K16 Special Edition, he appeared on the covers of NBA 2K11, NBA 2K12, and NBA 2K16. John Madden Returns to Cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 23

The first day of June is #MaddenDay, a special day that remembers the introduction of John Madden Football on that date in 1988. There’s no better way to honor Coach Madden and his famous career in sports and entertainment than to commemorate the day he permanently revolutionized the gaming industry. Electronic Arts is honoring Coach Madden in various ways, including a new cover, an update on the $5 million John Madden Legacy Commitment to Education, and the dedication of a refurbished field.

Coach Madden has been synonymous with the sport of football for more than 50 years, and he returns to the cover of Madden NFL 23 for the first time in more than two decades to celebrate his legacy for the next generation.

Three separate Madden NFL 23 covers honor different aspects of Coach Madden’s illustrious career. As a video game legend who helped develop the love of NFL football around the world, Coach is highlighted in the Madden NFL 23 All-Madden Edition, which includes artwork done by a popular artist in sports culture, Chuck Styles.

“As someone who grew up loving football, playing in the suburbs of West Philly, it’s a full-circle moment to now be able to contribute to the culture of the sport by honoring an icon like John Madden, who has influenced generations of football fans through his passion for football and unmistakable energy, through my art,” said Chuck Styles.

The Madden NFL development team has always been grounded by Coach Madden’s football principles and expectations on the field, as they represent what fans desire from the best 11v11 simulation football experience. The first interactive experience in Madden NFL 23 will feature two versions of Coach Madden leading opposite teams of “All Madden” athletes facing off in the 1970s Oakland Coliseum when it hits later this summer. In addition, in remixed audio samples from his iconic days as a commentator, Coach Madden’s memorable voice returns during the game.

In the coming weeks, EA SPORTS will disclose other ways Coach Madden will be remembered in Madden NFL 23.

In honor of #MaddenDay, Electronic Arts provided an update on the $5 million John Madden Legacy Commitment to Education, which was announced earlier this year.

College Track, Mission Bit, StreetCode Academy, and Girls Who Code will receive $2.5 million from Electronic Arts’ John Madden Legacy Commitment to Education over the next five years to support programming for the following four nonprofit organizations focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) education: College Track, Mission Bit, StreetCode Academy, and Girls Who Code. These organizations are well-established and well-proven partners dedicated to providing students with the technology skills, mentoring, and development support they need to succeed in college and beyond.

The remaining $2.5 million from the John Madden Legacy Commitment to Education will establish the EA Madden Scholarship in collaboration with the UNCF (United Negro College Fund), which will help students at 12 historically black colleges and universities graduate prepared for the next step in their careers.

“Coach Madden was a lifelong believer in the importance of education, and we’re privileged to support these amazing organizations that are creating opportunities for the next generation to pursue their dreams in his honor”, said Cam Weber, EA SPORTS EVP and GM.

At Electronic Arts’ worldwide headquarters in Redwood City, CA, today is also the official dedication ceremony for “John Madden Field,” which will celebrate Coach Madden’s impact on the firm. EA CEO Andrew Wilson and Madden NFL Executive Producer Seann Graddy, along with leaders from the Madden family and hundreds of EA employees, will inaugurate the newly rebuilt field. On the new field, EA will also host four Bay Area young flag football teams from NFL FLAG, one of the country’s largest flag football organizations.

The EA Tiburon studio in Orlando, the Madden NFL flagship studio, just erected a permanent commemorative painting in Coach’s honor at the new facility in Downtown Orlando’s Creative Village, painted by local Orlando artist Andrew Spear.

NBA 2K22 Provide Updates to Kyrie Irving, Devin Booker, and Jayson Tatum Player Ratings

The ninth NBA 2K22 player ratings update was released today, featuring the best players from the last stretch of the NBA season, including Kyrie Irving, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, and others.

Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets: 92 OVR (+1) has improved his play as the playoffs approach, averaging 30.8 points and 6.6 assists per game over his last five appearances. Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns: 91 OVR (+1) is getting MVP talk after scoring 30.9 points per game in March to lead the Suns to the best record in the NBA.

More major updates include Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum: 90 OVR (+1), Charlotte Hornets guard Miles Bridges: 84 OVR (+1), Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole: 81 OVR (+2), and more.

Sony Announces New “Playstation Plus” Subscription Service to Rival XBOX Gammer Pass

Sony has finally announced its competitor for Xbox’s Game Pass. It is introducing the all-new “Playstation Plus.”

Starting in June, Sony will offer three tiers of PlayStation Plus: Essential, Extra, and Premium. The Essential version will effectively be the PlayStation Plus that subscribers know today, offering two monthly downloadable games, cloud storage, and access to online multiplayer. PlayStation Plus Essential will cost $59.99 per year, the service’s existing price. The current Playstation Network system will shut down, and all existing memberships will migrate towards the Playstation Plus Essential tier.

PlayStation Plus Extra ($99.99 annually) and Premium ($119.99 annually) will offer subscribers “a library that will be regularly refreshed,” according to Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. At launch, that library will include Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal.

For years, Playstation fans have begged for a service like this, similar to what Xbox fans have already had. No word to when in June the new service will officially go live.

The eighth NBA 2K22 player ratings update was released today, featuring outstanding performers such as Ja Morant, James Harden, now riding shotgun with Joel Embiid in Philly, Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, and more.

Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies (93 OVR +1) followed up his first All-Star Game appearance with a spectacular 52-point performance in a recent win over the San Antonio Spurs. 76ers guard James Harden: 92 OVR (+1) has scored 25 points or more in four of his five games, and the Sixers have won all but last night.

NBA 2K22 Set to Launch Season 5: ‘Power Within’

Season 5 of NBA 2K22 will be released on Friday, February 25th, and 2K has released an in-depth look at it today. Players can enjoy ani-mazing attire, a futuristic hoverboard, and a strong Grand Prize in The City and Cancha Del Mar, where anime has arrived. Season 5 also adds new music to the soundtrack thanks to a collaboration with Ninja Tune, as well as a slew of new content and changes to MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and The W modes.
