Dave East Raps Nas Verse Flawlessly When Asked About The First Verse He Memorized

Dave East perfectly rapped through a Nas verse when asked about the first verse he ever memorized. During an interview with HipHopDX at the Grammys red carpet, they spoke with the New York rapper about the first verse to live fully in his head- well, other than his own raps. Moreover, the 34-year-old recited the New York legend’s bars on “You Won’t See Me Tonight.” Furthermore, that track features the late Aaliyah and landed on Nas’s 1999 album I Am… A pretty deep cut for many fans, so props to East for the pick and for his memory.

Meanwhile, Nas wasn’t the only OG that Dave East shouted out at the Grammys red carpet. Also, he spoke excitedly about portraying Method Man again in the upcoming season of Hulu’s series Wu Tang: An American Saga. “It’s the best season,” he told Baller Alert. “I think this the season that the world’s going to be able to identify the most with. I feel like season one and two is, like, stuff you didn’t know about them. You know what I mean? Getting to know their stories. Season three, I’m, like, really Meth. I look like Meth for real, I got the fangs and all that. Wiz Khalifa Says It Shouldn’t Take Over A Day To Write A Verse

Wiz Khalifa says that he sends his features back to artists within the same day. Wiz explained that he feels it shouldn’t usually take longer than a day to finish a verse in a pair of posts on Twitter.

“The fact that I send my features back same day be having me lookin at these artists crazy,” Wiz wrote.

He later admitted: “It does take a min to write a rap sometimes especially if your [sic] focusing on what your sayin or u just suck.”

Not everyone agreed with Wiz’s take in his replies.

One user argued: “There’s no time limit on greatness. It’s different when you actually engineer your own music as well because now you’re writing for the mix too.”

“Money and weed bars don’t take that long we know,” another joked.

As for his own music, Wiz dropped off his seventh solo studio album, Multiverse, in July 2022. He also worked on the collaborative albums Stoner’s Night with Juicy J and Full Court Press with Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA, and Girl Talk the same year.

In addition to music, Wiz is set to star as George Clinton in the forthcoming film, Spinning Gold. The movie will be hitting theaters in March 2023.

On the business side of his career, Wiz recently teamed up with Red Light Holland to sell non-psychedelic mushroom kits in the United States, Europe, as well as Canada.

“Launching Mistercap Magic Truffles in the Netherlands and creating other Mistercap natural mushroom products and Home Grow kits is gonna be dope,” Wiz said of the move. “We are building something special and are excited to grow with the industry.”

Tony Yayo Raps 50 Cent’s First Verse

Tony Yayo rapped 50 Cent’s first rhyme in a recent interview with VladTV. Even though it was years and years ago, Yayo still remembered much of his first impression of Fif. Moreover, they also talked about the relationship between hustling and making music, and how 50 moved in both lanes.

“You actually remember 50 Cent’s first rhyme,” DJ Vlad asked. When the Queens rapper confirmed so, Vlad asked, “Can you spit it?”

“Yeah, it was in my man’s… basement, Rest In Peace,” the rapper began. “It was ‘The cell went stale, quarter mil’ bail, fresh out the jail, s**t is really real. N***as is locked up, man, I pray they don’t tell. A hundred man indictment, my lawyer got to fight this. N***as know I ain’t never pressed for dough. N***as know I don’t serve nobody I don’t know.

“‘Son said he was from O.T., sold ‘leven at O.Z.,’” he continued rapping. “‘His man brought him to me, but he ain’t really know B. Said it was time, dude was a cop, he was just trying to pop to put the new beams on the drop.’ That’s all I remember. But that rhyme to me was like, that’s when I was like, “Nah.” He had other s**t, but that was in my man’s basement… and I was just like ‘Yo, this n***a’s getting better by the minute.”

Furthermore, Yayo explained how 50 didn’t really start out wanting to be a rapper. Moreover, he spoke on how the Queens mogul used to hang with them when they were still hustling. In fact, he had an interesting observation on how nobody sets out to be a rapper.

“I don’t think nobody sets out to be a rapper,” he stated. “This is why I said rap is a blessing, ’cause it feeds a lot of families and a lot of kids. It helps a lot of people down, from security to assistance to the guy that holds the camera, the guy that holds the microphone, everything. We never planned out to be rappers, we just got lucky. It was in God’s plan.”

While Vlad pushed back on this idea a little bit, it was a very interesting conversation around hobbies compared to work. Moreover, the 44-year-old said that “if it was selling drugs over music, it was selling drugs,” talking about money-making.

Kanye West Asked Uncle Murda To Write A Verse For Him

Uncle Murda recently revealed that Kanye West asked him for help when writing a verse. Moreover, the alleged assist happened alongside Big Sean and record executive Steve Stoute. Despite the Chicago rapper’s public reckoning as of late, tales of his studio exploits and team-ups are always curious.

“You wrote s**t for Kanye?” DJ Superstar Jay asked Uncle Murda in an interview. “You was in the writer’s room?”

“Hold on, hold up. I ain’t- he had me starting to write,” the New York MC explained. It was me and Big Sean. This was the first day I was f***ing with the n***a. Word. That’s why I know Big Sean was really pissed off at the n***a, you know what I’m saying, when they had their issues.

“I remember just being in the studio and Ye was like ‘Damn, this beat,’” he continued. “He was like ‘Yo, go ahead, try to put something together.’ He called Big Sean like ‘Yo, try to work on this beat. It’s been f***ing with me for the last few days. I can’t come up with nothing.’ Like, n***a wanted me to write already? No blunt or nothing? Just like, ‘Go!’ And it was him and Steve Stoute. I’ll never forget.”

Moreover, this interaction is all the funnier when you consider Uncle Murda’s most recent output. His annual “Rap Up” diss turned heads last year with shots towards the “Off The Grid” artist. Also, artists like Freddie Gibbs responded to receiving hits on the track, though Ye never did.

However, the diss track gave us some more noteworthy responses. Bobby Shmurda reacted to Murda’s mention in a slightly tongue-in-cheek way, probably trying to clean up some earlier mistakes.

“Murda, I’m a changed man, I’m a changed man, I’m different, man. I’m tryna change, Murda, I ain’t tryna boom nobody no more,” Shmurda stated via Instagram. Clearly the 42-year-old’s got plenty of material to work with, even to donate to the Yeezy mogul.
