Saweetie, Tyga, And YG Celebrated The Icy Girl’s ‘Birthday’ In A Blowout Video Extravaganza Leading From The Club To The Crib

Birthdays are a glorious occasion, but no one celebrates the anniversary of their birth quite like Saweetie. This year, the rapper headed to Las Vegas to enjoy Usher’s My Way residency up close and personal but avoiding Kekegate. However, the Icy Girl’s festivities are far from over. On her new single, “Birthday,” the musician teamed up with upcoming tour mates Tyga and YG for one more blowout extravaganza.

Saweetie can have her cake or, apparently, be one too. In the visual, the musician dripped with jewels embodied the purpose of a birthday candle. Not only is she every guy’s wish (but only her rumored boo YG can have), but Saweetie is a bright flame you can’t take your eyes off. On her special day, the musician is a spoiled brat and doesn’t mind showing it, as she rapped, “It’s my birthday b*tch these my birthday rules / I aint spendin nothing all the drinks on you / I hope that aint your n**** cause he tryna get loose / See me coming through and a b*tch better move.”

For the month of July, it’s Saweetie’s world, and we’re just living in it.

YG, Saweetie & Tyga Announce 'STR8 TO THE KLUB TOUR'

Love is in the air! Just a few days after YG and Saweetie were seen boo’ed up for date night in Los Angeles, it looks like the lovebirds have been keeping this exciting news in the vault. Today, YG, Saweetie, and Tyga announce their STR8 TO THE KLUB Tour, a true West Coast lineup if there ever was one.

The trio is slated to perform 14 arena shows in 13 North American cities, kicking things off on September 21st at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento and concluding at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles on November 22nd. This serves as YG’s second headlining tour this year, on the heels of his Red Cup Tour. This will be Tyga and Saweetie’s first headlining tour this year.

This isn’t the first time YG and Saweetie showed PDA, previously sighted cuddling up backstage at Rolling Loud Los Angeles. Additionally, the two were seen on baecation in Cabo at the end of May, with photos of them kissing and snuggled by the cool. The two collaborated on Mozzy’s “In My Face” record just last year, alongside 2 Chainz.

Tickets for the STR8 TO THE KLUB TOUR go on sale this Friday, July 21st, at 10am local time. Visit www.str8totheklub.com.

YG, Tyga, And Saweetie Are Heading ‘Str8 To The Club’ On Their North American Tour

Two of Compton’s finest are not only linking up for an album, but they’re also heading out on tour. Tyga and YG announced their joint album during Tyga’s performance at Rolling Loud LA earlier this year, and since then, there’s been a steady stream of hood-certified new singles, including “Platinum” and “West Coast Weekend.”

Now, they’ve announced the routing for their Str8 To The Club Tour, on which they’ll be joined by YG’s rumored boo, Saweetie. Sounds like a winning lineup. And look, I can’t speak for the venues outside of California, but they’ve clearly dodged the “why are artists canceling tours” conversation with this routing. Leave it to Compton to know where the money resides. I don’t know about the club, but clearly, the California Hispanic community still messes with Tyga despite his “Ay Caramba” faux pas.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, July 21 at 10 am local time at www.str8totheklub.com.

Tyga & Avril Lavigne Are Back Together, Supposedly After ‘Rethinking’ Their Split That Occurred Just Weeks Ago

Tyga and Avril Lavigne sent fans on the Internet into a frenzy back in February after news of their coupling was made public. Meanwhile, Mod Sun fans weren’t too happy about his ex-fiancée moving on. The musicians wasted no time in walking red carpets together or splurging on lavish custom-made gifts for one another. However, after a few short months together, rumors spread in June that the two had split, vowing to remain friends. Well, that was short-lived. According to ET, Tyga, and Lavigne are back together.

The publication’s source sounded off on the matter, saying, “Tyga and Avril are back together after their split. They were still hanging out and talking after their breakup and decided to give things another shot.”

But for now, the pair have agreed to keep their relationship “casual.” According to the source, the reason is that the two could “Focus on enjoying their time together.”

Tyga recently performed at the 2023 BET Awards, but Lavigne, alas, did not attend. However, the two were spotted holding hands while attending an Independence Day celebration at Nobu Malibu in California. Apparently Mod Sun’s recent track addressing his called-off engagement with Lavigne didn’t phase the happy, reunited couple.

Tyga and YG Deliver Video for “West Coast Weekend” Featuring Blxst

Tyga and YG Deliver Video for "West Coast Weekend" Featuring Blxst

Tyga, YG, and Blxst have come together for a sizzling new release. The trio dropped the music video for their latest track, “West Coast Weekend,” capturing the essence of the California lifestyle. The single will be found on Tyga and YG’s forthcoming joint album.

With beautiful women, classic cars, and a pool party at a Hollywood Hills mansion, the video exudes the trio’s energy and the West Coast mindset. The single samples Tupac’s iconic hit, “All About You,” adding a nostalgic touch. This summer anthem celebrates the allure of West Coast culture, with its captivating chorus and carefree energy. The release offers a taste of what’s to come from their collaborative album, promising more hits from these multi-platinum artists and longtime collaborators.

Earlier this month, Tyga and YG delivered their highly anticipated track, “Platinum,” giving fans a taste of what’s in store on their upcoming album.

The release follows “Run,” “Go Loko,” and the recent drop “West Coast Weekend” featuring Blxst, showcasing their undeniable chemistry and power as a pair.

With “Platinum,” Tyga and YG combine their distinct styles, blending a reimagined and intense classical instrumental with a rhythmic beat and flawlessly delivered verses. The high-energy track is set to become both a club banger and a California party anthem.

Accompanying the release is a visually stunning music video that takes viewers on a journey through the streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles. True to the west coast aesthetic, the video features vintage cars, vibrant dancers, and breathtaking scenery.

Tyga, YG, And Blxst Throw A Lavish Pool Party In Their Breezy ‘West Coast Weekend’ Video

It’s (finally) sunny in LA again, and the latest collab between Compton rappers Tyga and YG is perfect for the festivities to come. It’s a fitting time to drop the video for “West Coast Weekend” featuring Blxst as the sort of lavish pool parties depicted in the clip is coming around the corner for the rest of us. And although the sun wasn’t quite shining yet when they filmed this in the Hollywood Hills, that doesn’t stop their bikini-clad guests from having a ball, lounging on Lambos, taking a dip in the pool, and playing Twister on the lawn.

“West Coast Weekend,” which shares the same unforgettable Cameo sample as Tupac’s “All About U,” Beyoncé’s “Before I Let Go” cover, and Mariah Carey’s “Loverboy,” is just latest single from YG and Tyga’s upcoming collaborative album, which they announced during Tyga’s set at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles earlier this year. The two Hub City natives previously built chemistry on tracks like Tyga’s “Go Loko” and YG’s “Run,” and kept it going with another joint single, “Platinum.”

Both are experienced with collaborative album rollouts; in 2015, Tyga worked with Chris Brown on the album Fan Of A Fan, while YG recently dropped their joint album Kommunity Service — which, funnily enough, also featured a single with Blxst.

The BET Awards’ 2023 Hip-Hop 50 Performances Went Out West With Warren G, Yo-Yo, Tyga, And E-40

After the BET Awards’ 2023 Hip-Hop 50 tribute covered some of rap’s foundational hits, including Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” MC Lyte’s “Cha Cha Cha,” and DJ D-Nice’s “Call Me D-Nice,” the second performance took a trip out west. The second performance of the night tapped Long Beach’s Warren G, who performed his and Nate Dogg’s seminal hit, “Regulate,” Yo-Yo, who rocked her signature song “You Can’t Play With My Yo-Yo,” Compton’s Tyga, who took the show to “Rack City,” and the Bay Area favorite E-40, who played his late-career breakout “Tell Me When To Go.”

While the show clearly dedicated plenty of space to the celebration of hip-hop’s 50th birthday, it also made sure to highlight some of today’s hottest artists, as well. The show opened with Lil Uzi Vert, who performed an unreleased song along with their rumbling Jersey club hit “Just Wanna Rock,” and Latto, who told her foes once again to “Put It On Da Floor,” and Coco Jones, who also won Best New Artist and sang “ICU.”

More artists expected to perform tonight include six-time nominee GloRilla, Doechii, and more Hip-Hop 50 pioneers like Ja Rule, Remy Ma, Trina, and more. Stay tuned for more of UPROXX’s coverage of the 2023 BET Awards.
