When Does Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures’ Album Come Out?

After rumors circulated that Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign were having difficulty securing a distributor for their joint album, fans became nervous. The duo postposing their previously announced multi-stadium listening parties certainly didn’t help. However, on December 11, all faith was restored when clips from the musicians’ rave in Miami began to circulate across social media.

When does Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s album Vultures come out?

(Update: On January 23, 2024, West shared a new trailer for the album, which revealed that Vultures is now a three-part project. The first volume is set for release on February 9, the second on March 8, and the third on April 5.)

(Update: After the album wasn’t released on December 15, it was reportedly given a new release date of December 31.)

According to the Independent, the work is slated to be released this Friday, December 15. The outlet reports that the date was announced by West yesterday onstage at the Vultures rave preview session. Neither West nor Ty Dolla Sign has echoed this on their personal social media pages. But they have shared teasers of songs from the album as well as the full tracklist.

The list of featured appearances on the album remains a mystery as well. Based on the listening party, fans believe Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Kodak Black, and Lil Durk are on the project.

Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign Reportedly No Longer Have A Release Date For ‘Vultures’ Because Of Course It Got Delayed Again

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign‘s collaborative album Vultures may take a little longer to arrive. Originally announced last year, Vultures has seen numerous delays. Its most recent release date was slated for January 12, but it looks like listeners are going to have to wait a bit longer.

Yesterday, West’s frequent collaborator Malik Yusef shared a photo of Ty, featuring the singer recording vocals for the album, per HipHopDX.

A fan commented on the post, asking, “what song is he recording for?” Yusef replied, “all of em.”

The same fan asked if Ty is “redoing verses or making new ones?” Yusef answered: “both.”

Earlier that day, Forbes reported that “a representative for West explained that the album is not coming out on that date, and, for the moment, doesn’t have a release date.”

Yusef also weighed in on this, when a fan asked “Is that Forbes article legit?” The former GOOD Music rapper simply replied, “Naw.”

Though it’s not clear which parts of the article to which Malik was referring. At the time of writing, neither West nor Ty have issued a direct update on Vultures.

Ty Dolla Sign is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Surprising Absolutely Nobody, Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign Have Delayed Their Album ‘Vultures’ Yet Again

When Kanye West announces a release date for a project of his, it’s hard to believe him. Perhaps more than anybody in modern music, the rapper has a history of not making good on his word and repeatedly delaying the release of his albums. The same has proven to be true for Vultures, his upcoming joint album with Ty Dolla Sign.

Initially, it had a rumored release date of October 13, but that date came and went without a new album. Then, it was supposed to come out on December 15, and again, the project didn’t drop. Shortly after that, the album had a new expected release date of December 31. Now, once again, the album has been delayed: Billboard reports that according to reps for West, the album has been pushed back to January 12, 2024.

Neither West nor Ty have publicly explained why the album keeps getting pushed back. Worth noting, though: Minutes before the expected release on the 15th, West reached out to Nicki Minaj on X (formerly Twitter), asking her to clear her contributions to the song “New Body” for the album. She declined, responding, “Child, that train has left the station, OK? No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? Come on, guys. You know?”

Although the initial release date for Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s joint album Vultures has come and gone, that hasn’t deterred Kanye’s fans from continuing to clamor for the project. After all, some release shenanigans are par for the course when it comes to the mercurial producer, who has released albums days after they were due and opted to put them out on proprietary tech.

He’s also been a bit distracted, with his attention being split between putting out the publicity fire his antisemtic comments set to his career and stewing over his (just) treatment by friends and business partners who din’t want to be smeared by association. He still seems intent on putting out Vultures after all this — and Ty seems perfectly fine going along for the ride — so, here’s everything we know about the album so far.

Release Date

Vultures is now allegedly coming out on December 31 after a third (second?) listening event, this time to be held in Saudi Arabia.

Tracklist

While Ty shared a tracklist, it seems unlikely that this will be the final sequencing after Backstreet Boys protested “Everybody” for sampling their 1997 hit of the same time and Nicki Minaj turned down offers to appear on “New Body” since Kanye asked at the last minute — and will almost certainly not be clearing it now.

1. “Everybody” Feat. Charlie Wilson, Lil Baby
2. “Back To Me” Feat. Freddie Gibbs, Offset, Quavo
3. “Fuk Sumn” Feat. Playboi Carti, Quavo
4. “Time Moving Slow”
5. “Beg Forgiveness” Feat. Charlie Brown
6. “So Good”
7. “Paid” Feat. Future
8. “Timbo Freestyle”
9. “Slide”
10. “New Body” Feat. Nicki Minaj
11. “Promotion”
12. “Vultures” Feat. Bump J, Lil Durk
13. “Lifestyle”
14. “Drunk” Feat. Bad Bunny, Kodak Black
15. “Worship”
16. “River” Feat. Young Thug
17. “Gun To My Head”
18. “Unlock”

Features

Although Nicki’s out, the guest list will supposedly still include contemporary faves like Lil Baby, Quavo, Offset, Future, Playboi Carti, Kodak Black, Lil Durk, Bad Bunny, and Young Thug. However the most intriguing inclusion for day-one Ye heads should be Bump J, the Chicago rapper who worked with him early in both their careers. Also, Kanye’s daughter is apparently included despite being uncredited on the tracklist.

Artwork

Ty Dolla also shared the proposed cover art, but as with all things Kanye, don’t be suprised to see things change in the coming weeks.

Singles

No singles have yet been released, but Kanye previously teased the album with the Backstreet-sampling “Everybody.”

Tour

A merch site briefly offered tickets for a “world tour,” but disappeared, leading to speculation that Kanye is planning a tour — although for him, that should be read more like “wants to do” rather than “is currently doing the work to ensure that such a thing actually happens.”

After Not Dropping When Expected, It Looks Like Kanye West’s And Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures’ Has A New Release Date

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign were supposed to have the headlining music release of last week with Vultures. Perhaps unsurprisingly to anybody who knows about West’s history of not meeting deadlines, though, the album did not end up getting released on time and has yet to be unveiled. Now, it appears West and Ty have another new release date lined up.

The album’s page on Apple Music currently lists a release date of December 31. Furthermore, a West rep reportedly confirmed that release date, along with another “rave” listening event in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, it wouldn’t hurt to take an announced release date for a West project with a grain of salt, since deadlines have historically been more like suggestions than something he feels obligated to honor.

As for why the project was delayed, it could be a matter of it’s just not finished yet, or there are still some elements of it to work out. For example, shortly before its expected release last Friday (minutes before, in fact), West took to social media to reach out to Nicki Minaj, in an effort to get her to approve her verse on “New Body” for the album, a request she ultimately denied.

Azealia Banks Defends Nicki Minaj Following Kanye West’s ‘No Body’ Verse Clearance Request Rant

After her iHeartRadio Jingle Ball performance on December 14 in Atlanta, Georgia, Nicki Minaj is laser-focused on all things Pink Friday 2. That means leaving behind anything that will siphon off promotional attention from it, including older collaborations. Unfortunately, that means her leaked viral verse for Kanye West’s song “New Body” might never see the light of day.

After Nicki apparently refused to clear her verse, which was set to appear on West’s forthcoming joint album Vultures with Ty Dolla Sign, he went on a rant against her. Now, Azealia Banks has inserted herself into the mix to take up for Nicki’s artistic decision.

On Saturday, December 16, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Banks tore into West. “Okay. Now I’m really pissed the f*ck off,” she wrote. “Regardless of how I feel about [Pink Friday 2], did fat, smelly loser Kanye West really just try to step all over Nicki’s release? Did I hear correctly when he tried to take credit for supporting her career.”

She continued, “Did he forget that Lil Wayne and Young Money [Records] supported her, believed in her, and shared their money, time, and resources with her to launch a female rapper to international icon status? Has Kanye ever successfully launched any artist he hasn’t sabotaged out of jealousy?”

Banks’ opinions on other artists tend to divide users online, but most fans support this take.

What Did Kanye West Rant About At His ‘Vultures’ Listening?

Fans looking forward to Kanye West’s second Vultures listening event in Las Vegas were disappointed this week as Kanye West (unsurprisingly) failed to make the event happen. Instead, the world was treated to yet another West rant, this time about the “vultures” who spend all their time cozying up to him despite his pretty reprehensible behavior over the past several months (years, really) hoping for scraps from the table.

Fittingly, the rant was transmitted courtesy of Miami event promoter YesJulz, who live streamed as ‘Ye railed against all the people and entities he feels betrayed him after he, again, went on MULTIPLE antisemitic rants — which, again, he did after five-plus years of bigging up bigots, bullying his ex’s boyfriend, and behaving like a true scammer when it came to the one thing anyone actually wanted from him: new music.

In the video, he again goes off on “Jewish n****s,” particularly entertainment exec Ari Emanuel, who he blames for getting him dropped from his lucrative deals with Adidas and Gap. He also called out Adidas for dropping him and Jay-Z for distancing himself from Kanye when it became clear that Kanye wasn’t going to behave himself (some years before his 2022 meltdowns). Considering Kanye was exhibiting his sex tapes during business meetings, I’m not sure he can blame anyone but himself though.

Kanye goes deep down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole, becoming more and more impassioned as he continues. The 10-minute video ends with Kanye calling everyone in the room with him “fake” for only hanging around him for his money and influence (gasp!) and kicks YesJulz out of the room. You can see the incident below.

Did Kanye West And Kid Cudi End Their Beef?

In recent times, there has been some tension between Kanye West and Kid Cudi, who released the collaborative album Kids See Ghosts in 2018. In April 2022, after he and Kanye both appeared on the same song from Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry, Cudi tweeted, “Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye.”

Did Kanye West and Kid Cudi end their beef?

Now, though, it looks like the two are on better terms.

Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign had a listening event for their upcoming album Vultures last night (December 14), and videos from the event show that Cudi was in attendance. One fan-shot video shows Cudi and Kanye happily sharing a hug. Another shows that during the event, Kanye and Ty played a new song featuring vocals from Cudi. So, at some point between Cudi’s tweet and yesterday, it appears Kanye and Cudi worked through their differences and got back on the same page.

Did Nicki Minaj Clear Her Verse For Kanye West’s ‘New Body?’

Let Me Calm Down” rapper Nicki Minaj is having a ball with her Barb fans in Gag City. With the release of her long-awaited album, Pink Friday 2, and the supporting world tour slated to launch soon, she’s been swamped with press obligations. Nicki even recounted with streamer Kai Cenat for a broadcast party where she and the crew jammed out to her new songs.

Whether out of pure coincidence or planned timing, Kanye West is looking to tap into the hype surrounding Nicki by releasing their past collaboration “New Body” on his Vultures album with Ty Dolla Sign.

Did Nicki Minaj Clear Her Verse For Kanye West’s ‘New Body?’

Based on her latest livestream, the answer appears to be no.

In a screenshot captured and shared by West, he reached out to Nicki via text message with his request but did not receive a response. So, he took to social media to tag the rapper, hoping fans would speed up the process.

However, when followers asked Nicki about clearing the record during a broadcast, she expressed no interest in doing so. She said, “Child, that train has left the station, OK? No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? Come on, guys. You know?”

According to rumors, that’s not the only uncleared contribution on West’s forthcoming album. The Backstreet Boys also reportedly did not give authorization to West on the record in which he sampled their 1997 song “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).”

Why Did Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign’s Album ‘Vultures’ Get Delayed?

There aren’t usually a ton of new music releases to look forward to in December, but one people have been getting excited about is Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures. That was expected to drop at midnight ET, but as this post is being written shortly before 9 a.m. ET, the project has not yet hit streaming services. So:

Why did Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s album Vultures get delayed?

So far, neither West nor Ty have publicly explained why Vultures isn’t out yet. One possible reason surfaced last night, though.

At 10:23 p.m. ET last night (December 14), 97 minutes before the album was apparently set for release at midnight, West tweeted a screenshot of a text he supposedly sent to Nicki Minaj. It said, “Hi it’s ye. May I call you about clearing new body on the new album.”

Minaj delivered her response during an Instagram Live broadcast that night. She explained, “Child, that train has left the station, OK? No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? Come on, guys. You know?”

So, the delay could be due to clearance issues like that. Also, West has a history of delaying albums and working on them until the last minute, so other factors could be at play as well.
