Terrence Howard Says Forthcoming ‘The Best Man’ Series Wraps Up His Career

Terrence Howard Reportedly Sends Cease and Desist To Producers of His Most Recent Film 'Triumph'

Terrence Howard is set to appear in The Best Man: The Final Chapters. Turns out, it may be his final role.

Speaking with ET Online on the red carpet of the forthcoming Peacock series, Howard reveals that this series is the end for him.

“This is the end for me. This is the end for me. I don’t know if it’s the end for the rest of them,” he said. “I retired two years ago, for the most part. I was done. … I asked Sidney Poitier 10 years ago does he want to do any more work, and he said, ‘Why would I spend my last 10 years doing an impersonation of myself?’ And that’s what I’ve gotten to.”

Howard added, “I’ve gotten to the point where now I’ve given the very best that I have as an actor. Now I’m enjoying watching other new talent come around, and I don’t want to do an impersonation of myself.”

Howard stated there are some actors today that are better than he is at this point, and he wants to be excited about their work.

In his career, Howard was nominated for Best Actor in 2006 for Hustle & Flow, played the iconic Lucious Lyon on Empire, starred in The Jacksons: An American Dream, The Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more.

Cardi B Reached Season Five Of ‘The Crown’ And Had More Wild Thoughts: ‘Camila Treat Charles Like Sh*t’

A couple weeks ago, Cardi B asked her fans if anyone was watching Netflix’s drama series, The Crown, which details the history of the British royal family. Now, it seems the Bronx rap star has reached season five of the show — the most recent version. The show reaches the ’90s and details the triangle between Prince Charles, Princess Diana (and their separation), and Camilla Parker-Bowles. Just like before, Cardi has a LOT of thoughts about the way these royals handle their romantic relationships.

“Why would Charles want Diana to hang out with Camila? THE NERVE the f*ck !” she wrote, misspelling her name. “Camila think she slick sending congrats notes to Diana ….I wish a b*tch would.”

“One thing I notice is that Camila treat Charles like sh*t ….Sooo ladies if you want a man to chase you act like THE CHASE don’t do the CHASING!” Cardi added.

Cardi chalked the show up to one key statement point back in November, as all the royals have guy issues in each decade. “Watching The Crown just shows you that you can be the queen of England or you can be the girl next door, we all got the same problems with men…stay safe,” she posted.

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Of Course Mariah Carey Has Four Christmas Trees In Her House

Recently Mariah Carey, the undisputed Queen of Christmas (despite insisting she doesn’t call herself that), revealed that she owns not one, not two, but four Christmas trees. Are we surprised?

Carey stopped by The Late Show to chat with host Stephen Colbert for a special holiday edition of his popular segment, “The Colbert Questionert.”

When picking out tree toppers, Carey said she prefers both an angel and a star. One might wonder how she could put both on top of one tree but don’t worry — she has four Christmas trees. She can make it work.

The songstress also shared that she has loved the holidays since childhood, but because of her tough upbringing, she was never able to enjoy them as she can now.

“I always wanted Christmas to be perfect, and it never was,” Carey told Colbert. “So when I was finally able to provide for myself, my friends, and then later my kids, who are 11, we have the most festive Christmas ever.”

Additionally, Carey noted that her upbringing and love for the holidays have impacted her pathway into Christmas-themed music, saying that it comes from a “longing to have some normalcy and peace.”

Later this month, Carey will host her own two-hour special on CBS, Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas To All!, which will be filmed during her December 13 performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City before being released on December 20.

‘Abbott Elementary’ Fans Are Freaking Out About Its Latest Cameos, Including Vince Staples And A 76ers Legend

In just two short seasons, Abbott Elementary has become an outright sensation. The show, which is kind of like The Office or Parks And Recreation set in a Philadelphia public elementary school, has garnered rave reviews for its heart and laugh-out-loud comedic touch. However, another aspect of its popularity that can’t be overlooked is its cameos and commitment to its Philadelphia setting.

While comedian/rapper Zack Fox played an integral role in the first season, the second season has upped the ante, with a hilarious appearance from Philly Flyers mascot Gritty, and in the show’s latest episode which aired last night, Vince Staples and 76ers legend Andre Iguodala. They join a cast that is already full of delightful comedic personalities including Tyler James Williams (from Everybody Hates Chris), Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Quinta Brunson, the show’s creator and main character, rookie educator Janine Teagues.

And since Staples is cast as a romantic rival to Williams’ Gregory for Janine’s affections, fans are rightfully freaking out, since Greg and Janine are the show’s “will they, won’t they” couple. Williams and Brunson’s smoldering chemistry doesn’t hurt either.

Iggy’s appearance is played more for straight laughs, as he appears as the boyfriend of the school’s irresponsible principal, Ava (portrayed by James). Fans were naturally excited to get yet another Philly reference on the show, which has nodded to Sixers basketball a couple of times this season, including with Janine’s Halloween costume of James Harden.

The show is going into its winter hiatus. Still, it will return in early 2023 — undoubtedly with more fun surprises and complications in the ongoing story of the interoffice romance between Janine and Greg (and hopefully, more Ava/Iggy shenanigans).

HER Is Pumped To Be Making History As The First Filipina Belle In The ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Anniversary Special

R&B sensation HER (real name Gabriella Wilson) is making history again. As the singer prepares for her musical special debut as part of Disney’s 30th celebration televised special of Beauty And The Beast, Wilson becomes the first Black and Filipina woman to play the role of Belle.

For clarity, singer Toni Braxton was the first Black woman to star as Belle on Broadway in 1998. But Wilson’s portrayal will mark the first time a woman of color has played the character on the small screen. During a stop at Good Morning America, the “Back Of My Mind” singer shared with host Michael Strahan what this opportunity means to her.

Wilson confessed, “I never thought I could be a Disney princess.” She later added, “Of course, every little girl wants to be a Disney princess, but I’ve never seen one that looks like me — so I get to be that to little girls now.”

When asked about her experience as Belle, Wilson replied, “Being a Disney princess is fun!”

Striving for the coveted EGOT status, Wilson could very well earn an Emmy as she also serves as a producer of the special. Wilson discussed the production side of the special, stating, “that’s such a huge deal on top of being a producer on Beauty And The Beast, which is crazy. I got to do a lot of the new arrangements and work with Alan Menken, the original arranger and producer. It’s been an amazing experience just learning so much about myself, and it’s been a lot of fun, honestly.”

Without giving too much away vocally, Wilson sang a teaser of the production’s opening number, “Belle,” and let’s say viewers are in for a treat.

Rita Moreno will narrate the special.

The Beauty And The Beast: A 30th Celebration television event will air on ABC on December 15 and on Disney+ the next day.

‘Power’ Stars Joseph Sikora and Gianni Paolo Squash Beef

'Power' Stars Joseph Sikora and Gianni Paolo Squash Beef

Earlier this year, Power stars Joseph Sikora and Gianni Paolo’s beef was made public.

The conflict began when 50 Cent took the stage for the Power theme song during Tycoon Weekend. The actors from Power entered the stage during the performance. The majority of the Power cast members greeted Paolo on stage, with the exception of Sikora. On camera, the Tommy actor is seen shoving Paolo’s hand away when the latter tries to dap him up.

Paolo’s Power: Ghost co-star Michael Rainey Jr. revealed the beef was over while teasing their upcoming episode of The Crew Has It Podcast.

New Episode Of “Atlanta” Includes A Surprise Gunna Cameo

Gunna may have spent the last couple of months (and potentially the next few as well) locked up in jail, but that doesn’t mean the DS4EVER hitmaker isn’t still managing to make major career moves.

As HipHopDX reports, Thursday (September 29) night’s episode of Atlanta saw the 29-year-old make his acting debut, playing himself alongside Brian Tyree Henry’s Paper Boi, who he was filmed playing cards with in the studio for their scene together.

The pair were engaged in a tense round of Uno – one which Gunna appeared to be losing – as Paper slammed down a “wild” card before selecting the colour yellow as his choice.

At this point, the “P Power” hitmaker accused his competitor of cheating, saying, “You know I ain’t got no more yellow cards.” Henry’s character responded by stating that that was the whole point of his move before throwing down two “draw four” cards, prompting Wunna to opt for an L.

Just a few seconds later, Childish Gambino’s Earn arrived in the scene, followed by Paper Boi’s Aunt Jeanie who promptly kicked everyone out of the studio.

It’s been noted that the episode was filmed this time last year inside Studio 9000, or the “A Room” at Atlanta’s own Pathwork Studios.

Aside from his TV triumph, Gunna is also likely feeling good to have his attorney Steve Sadow working so hard for his freedom. Currently, the rapper’s legal team is filing their third attempt at getting their client his ability to bond out of jail.

“Franz Kafka would be shocked to learn that ‘imprison him now; present the evidence sometime in the future’ appears to be the State’s reality in Fulton County,” Sadow declared in court. “The prosecution has been afforded ample time to develop evidence to support its motion to detain Kitchens. It has not succeeded.”

Though the lawyer makes a compelling argument, it should be noted that if the Fulton County judge denies this attempt, Gunna will remain behind bars until his trial is set to begin in January of 2023.

Post Malone: ‘I Watch Literally Every Episode Of ‘Modern Family’ Every Single Day’ On Tour

Of all the shows available to binge-watch, Modern Family is one of the best. The show has won and been nominated for dozens of awards, it enjoyed a 250-episode run, and it’s streaming on Hulu. It turns out the ABC comedy is Post Malone’s binge show of choice for chilling out on tour.

In a new GQ interview, Malone was asked how he relaxes on the road and he said:

“I watch literally every episode of Modern Family every single day. Every day, I start on season one, episode one, and then by the time I go to bed… Because I just leave it on as background noise, as well, whenever I’m not even deliberately watching. But by the time I fall asleep, I’m done with season eight already. I’m like, ‘Where does the time go?’ I don’t understand.”

Posty’s passion for the Dunphy’s et al. is endearing, but his claim is hard to believe.

As aforementioned, Modern Family ran for 250 episodes, and at an average length of 22 minutes per episode, that’s 5,500 total minutes, or over 91 hours, across the whole series. One day here on Earth, as you may have heard, is 24 hours (pretty much, anyway). As for Malone’s claim that he’s “done with season eight” by the time he falls asleep, that too is not likely. There are 188 episodes in the show’s first eight seasons, which run for about 4,136 minutes, or about 69 hours. So, while that’s nice, it sure doesn’t seem possible (assuming that Malone lacks the ability to control the flow of time).

However, there are actually ways Malone could actually watch the whole show in a waking day; let’s call it 14 hours, assuming 8 hours of sleep. If he watched the show at 7-times speed, he could knock it out in around 13 hours. Alternately, he could just watch 7 episodes at once and breeze through the series that way. There’s also the possibility that Malone has a different idea of what he considers a “day” to be. On Venus, for example, a day lasts for 5,832 hours.

So, to answer Malone’s question (“Where does the time go?”), it’s really hard to say.
