Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour Breaks Ticket Sales Records

Travis Scott's Circus Maximus Tour Breaks Ticket Sales Records

As Travis Scott continues to travel the world as part of his Circus Maximus Tour, he’s also continuing to break records along the way. Most recently, his Circus Maximus Tour broke the record for the highest number of tickets sold for a rap tour, selling over 1.5 million tickets since the tour kicked off in 2023.

Scott recently became the first solo rap artist to sell out shows at two major venues: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. He also set a record on another continent, breaking the attendance record for his recent shows at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia, with almost 80,000 people showing up for the two shows last week (the second of which featured a surprise guest appearance by The Weeknd).

While Scott’s tour has broken the record for the most tickets sold for a rap tour, the total profit won’t likely be known until its completion. As of now, the tour has netted about $155 million. For reference, the current highest-grossing rap tours are as follows:

$216m – Drake: It Was All A Blur
$111m – Kendrick Lamar: The Big Steppers
$105m – 50 Cent: The Final Lap
$103m – Drake & Migos: Aubrey & 3 Migos
$83m – Travis Scott: Circus Maximus
$81m – Drake & Future: Summer Sixteen
$79m – Kanye West & Jay Z: Watch The Throne
$77m – Kendrick Lamar: DAMN
$67m – Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday 2
$64m – Travis Scott: ASTROWORLD
$60m – Drake: Would You Like A Tour?

The global tour has seen Scott travel the world performing a spectacle of an event that has largely been met with overwhelmingly positive reception from both fans and music critics. The tour kicked off in October of 2023 in North America and will conclude this month in New Zealand before Scott and his Cactus Jack crew return to the US for ComplexCon in Las Vegas on November 16.

Travis Scott Nets Massive Earnings From First “Circus Maximus” Europe Shows

Travis Scott has had one heck of a past year as we approach the one-year anniversary of UTOPIA and the album still has legs… a European one, that is. Moreover, new Live Nation and Billboard reports divulged on the profits earned from his first seven shows for his European and U.K. leg of his “Circus Maximus” tour in support of the aforementioned album. Apparently, La Flame averaged earnings of $3.3 million per show and totaled over $23 million (two shows in the Netherlands, one in Poland, one in Switzerland, one in France, one in Belgium, and one in London) across these shows from June 28 to the most recent one at London on July 11.

The city’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted Travis Scott’s reportedly largest headline show to date (the metrics are a bit unclear) with 48,000 and a total gross of $6.6 million. Not only that, but the concert broke the stadium’s record for merchandise sales for any organized event up until this point. As for his North American trek, the combination of 44 shows and 686,000 total tickets sold across all of them resulted in a staggering $95.7 million gross.

Travis Scott Reacts To His European Fans On Tour

The “Circus Maximus” tour is about halfway done in Europe, with Travis Scott continuing the festivities in Cologne, Germany today (Saturday, July 20). Then, he will hit Milan in Italy, two Frankfurt shows in Germany, two Madrid shows in Spain, and three Lisbon shows in Portugal to wrap up the official leg of the tour on August 4. In addition, the Houston MC will play at the Rock In Rio Festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on September 13.

However, one of the most heartening and notable aspects of these tour profits is what Travis Scott and his team made sure to set aside. One euro or pound from every ticket sold during this European trek went, is going, or will go to the Cactus Jack Foundation, Travis’ org for Houston youth. As of writing this article, the Europe and U.K. shows for “Circus Maximus” this year have garnered about $250,000 for the organization. That’s great to hear, and we hope that it motivates the team to make things even better.

Travis Scott Asks Kai Cenat For A 24-Hour Live Stream Together During Europe Tour

Travis Scott has been a fan of Kai Cenat’s content for a while now, so the idea of them doing a stream together seems pretty inevitable. Moreover, La Flame called Cenat during his recent livestream and proposed that they do a “24 hours in London” stream together. He even suggested that they go backstage for his July 11 sold-out stadium show in the city, indicating that the actual concert itself would be a big part of the stream. Overall, it’s nice to hear them be excited about meeting up regardless, but they might actually be onto something with this idea and could create something pretty cool to see for 24-hour stream standards.

Of course, Kai Cenat has done plenty of these in the past, similar to his sleepover streams with the likes of Kevin Hart and Druski. Still, there’s nothing like some killer hip-hop crossovers and fun, often comical content to engage fans and provide some awesome, albeit sometimes criticized moments for better or worse. Throwing such a big event as Travis Scott’s “Circus Maximus” tour on top of that just sounds like a massive recipe for success that we’re sure they’re probably ironing out the details of right now. Regardless, even if this 24-hour London stream doesn’t happen, we know that the two are in close contact and would likely always be down to do something together.

Travis Scott Calls Kai Cenat With An Idea

Elsewhere, folks might remember that Travis Scott has been more of a supporting character in the Kai Cenat universe. For example, he was one of many who called into 21 Savage’s stream with the Twitch giant, betting $10K on the Slaughter Gang CEO beating Kai in a game of 2K. They haven’t been the main event together yet, and spending 24 hours in London sounds like quite the bombastic way to do so. They’d get into enough antics on the streets touristing around, let alone at a concert.

Meanwhile, we know from Travis Scott’s recent arrest that he’s a bit of a party animal, so we’re sure that this stream would be great fun. Hopefully they work everything out before July 11 and they can make this one of the biggest rap crossover streams so far. After all, it’s not every day that Kai Cenat gets to match his coverage and content with something as big as a backstage pass to a blockbuster show. What’s next, a studio session stream?

Travis Scott Sells Out Select European Shows In A Single Day

Travis Scott is hitting up various European countries later this year to continue his Circus Maximus tour, and it looks like demand hasn’t slowed down one bit. Moreover, he reportedly sold out stadium shows in Italy, Germany, and England (specifically London) in a single day, yet it’s unclear whether the other dates in countries like the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, or other U.K. cities are also sold out. Either way, you’d better refresh that tour page quick, because it seems like tickets are selling out fast for these concerts. This continues a lot of Cactus Jack hype these days, including the recently announced Nike Shark-A-Don sneaker.

Furthermore, another Travis Scott promo piece that has fans very excited and ready to sell it out is whatever he’s cooking with Kanye West. They recently appeared in a new Cactus Jack ad centered around their children, and we don’t yet know exactly what they have planned or what they’re going to come out with. Either way, fans are going absolutely wild over the prospect of another collaboration from the “Piss On Your Grave” duo, whether it’s new music, clothes, visual projects, or pretty much anything. For that, we’ll have to wait and see, and who knows; maybe Ye pops out for one of these sold-out dates.

Travis Scott Sells Out Various Europe Shows In A Day

Elsewhere, Travis Scott is still reckoning with the consequences of the 2021 Astroworld tragedy, and he’s not completely free to go just yet. While he and Live Nation settled nine civil lawsuits over wrongful deaths that the music festival’s crowd crush caused, one remains open. It’s impossible to tell whether or not this will fully go to trial given how complicated and back-and-forth the situation has been thus far. All we can hope for is that the achieved outcome is one that the mourning family feels satisfied or vindicated with, as they are the main people to consider in seeking this accountability.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott’s European leg is building up to be a pretty exciting run of shows that hopefully continue to prove his higher awareness and safety prioritization in the face of these lawsuits and cases. It will still be a long road for him to fully reckon with this tragedy, one that he traveled a lot of already with his 2023 album UTOPIA. With more Cactus Jack content surely coming in 2024, we can only wait and see what’s next. For more news and the latest updates on La Flame, come back to HNHH.
