Lil Nas X And The Wiggles Teased A Collaboration, Leaving Parents Big Mad

It appears that a collaboration with Lil Nas X is underway for Australian children’s entertainers, The Wiggles. The two teased a collaboration last year, when Lil Nas X seemingly joked on Twitter, saying, “trying really hard to get the wiggles to coheadline the tour with me. i will keep you guys updated.”

The Wiggles responded to him, saying ‘We’re ready to wiggle with you!’

On this most recent New Year’s Eve, a member of The Wiggles shared a photo of the group with Lil Nas X, which seemed to confirm that a collaboration had manifested.

While many fans were excited that Lil Nas X and The Wiggles spoke their meet-up into existence, some people were less than thrilled about it.

“Is this what you guys support?” asked one person in the comments.

“As a children’s entertainer/influencer, I don’t find it responsible promoting this dude,” said another. “Extremely inappropriate.”

Another commenter cited Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” video, in which he is seen giving satan a lapdance. This person said, Lil Nas X…this is the dude with the Satan worshipping video and the Nikes with the blood inside them?? I thought wiggles was an advocate for children.”

Fortunately, the outpour of support outweighed the negative pushback. One parent even said they want to encourage their kid to tune into The Wiggles.

“all these ppl getting mad is hilarious,” they said. “fully support more than ever. now to take my 8 month old to watch.”

The Kid Laroi Performs ‘Fruit Salad’ And More With The Wiggles

The Kid Laroi lived up to the first part of his moniker last night (June 12) at his Melbourne stop on the End Of The World Tour: After performing “Tragic” with a fan, Laroi surprised attendees with none other than fellow Australia natives The Wiggles. The group joined him on stage and together they performed three songs: “Fruit Salad,” “Hot Potato,” and “Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car.” The Wiggles then presented Laroi with his own personal, original Wiggles guitar.

This marks The Kid Laroi’s second time bringing out guests on the End Of The World Tour, as he surprised the Sydney crowd with local drill group Onefour and a performance of their 2020 collaboration “My City.” Now that the Australian leg is up, the BandLab NME Award winner will continue his tour with stops in Denmark and UK before returning to North America through mid-September.

The Kid Laroi last released his single “Thousand Miles” in April, his sole 2022 output since the 2021 triple disk F*ck Love 3+: Over You.

Over You featured Polo G, G Herbo, Lil Durk, Mustard and of course Justin Bieber on the smash hit “Stay.”

Lil Nas X Wants To Tour With The Wiggles And If He’s Serious, They’re On Board

A few days ago, Lil Nas X shared some big news, announcing the Long Live Montero Tour, his first-ever headlining concert tour. Then, the next day, he took to Twitter to share some follow-up news, tweeting, “trying really hard to get the wiggles to coheadline the tour with me. i will keep you guys updated.”

Of course, Lil Nas X jokes more than just about anybody in the music industry, so it’s extremely possible/likely that he was just goofing around with that message. If he did happen to be serious, though, The Wiggles are ready.

A few hours after Nas’ tweet, The Wiggles responded, confirming that they’re on board by tweeting, “We’re ready to wiggle with you,” followed by four heart emojis, one in each color of the group’s members. The group’s Anthony Field offered his own response, tweeting, “The Big Red Car is packed and ready mate! Let’s Wiggle!”

It’s important to remember that odds are, Lil Nas X was kidding and The Wiggles are just going along with the joke for a good bit of internet fun. Still, it’s not like The Wiggles are strangers to big names in the music industry, as they recently performed with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. Also, actually going through with a co-headlining Wiggles tour would be a hilarious feather in Lil Nas X’s comedic cap.

The Wiggles’ New Cover Of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ May Be The Most Delightful Version Ever

The Wiggles had themselves a bit of a viral moment earlier this year when they covered Tame Impala’s “Elephant” while mashing it up with their own “Fruit Salad.” The children’s music group apparently decided they’re really into covers, because next year, they’re releasing a whole album of them.

ReWiggled is set to drop on March 11, 2021, and it’s a two-part affair. The first side features artists like Stella Donnelly, The Chats, and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra covering songs by The Wiggles, while the second side sees the group performing songs by artists like Rihanna, AC/DC, Blondie, James Brown, and The Rolling Stones. They shared a preview EP of the album today and it features their renditions of “Elephant” and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” a famously over-the-top song that is perfect for the cartoony style of The Wiggles.

They also shared an announcement video, so find that above and check out the ReWiggled art and tracklist below.
