Joe Budden Wonders If It’s Possible For Diddy To Have A Fair Trial

It’s no secret that Diddy is in for an intense trial. The Bad Boy founder is currently behind bars for various charges related to alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. His trial is expected to begin in May 2025, and he could reportedly face some serious prison time if convicted. He’s also facing multiple lawsuits from men and women who accuse him of sexual assault, abuse, and more.

Recently, prosecutors even obtained roughly 19 pages of “privileged notes” that were found during a raid of the mogul’s jail cell, according to TMZ. They alleged that they pointed to him allegedly paying Kalenna Harper to release a statement in his defense after Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit against him, and more. Earlier this week, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that none of this could be used as evidence against Diddy. He ordered the prosecution to destroy the notes.

During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden and his co-hosts questioned whether or not it’s even possible for Diddy to get a fair trial at this point. According to them, it might not be, considering the number of shocking allegations the public has heard against Diddy. They argued that it might be difficult to find an untainted jury. On the other hand, they also speculated that his celebrity status could give him a leg up.

It remains to be seen how Diddy’s case will actually play out. The long list of disturbing accusations he’s facing has certainly not stopped growing, however. This week, for example, a former RoboCop stuntman sued him over a music video audition allegedly gone wrong. The man alleges that after drinking a Diet Coke, he blacked out, and woke up to Diddy sodomizing him.

Kash Doll Admits She’s Still Confused About Kendrick Lamar’s “6:16 In LA” Shoutout

Back in May, Kendrick Lamar dropped his second Drake diss track, “6:16 In LA.” In it, he throws various jabs at the Toronto rapper, DJ Akademiks, and more. He even name-drops Kash Doll, which still has her perplexed. “F*ckin’ with good people make good people go to bat / Conspiracies about Cash, dog? That’s not even the leak / Find the jewels like Kash Doll, I just need you to think,” he spits.

During a recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, she weighed in on the reference, revealing that she’s not entirely sure what it means. She recalled being bombarded with messages about it when Kendrick’s song first dropped, and shared some of the theories she’s heard about it. One is that it was a nod to her 2019 single “Ice Me Out.” Another is that it’s a reference to her being robbed of roughly $500K worth of jewelry. According to Kash Doll, some social media users even insisted it had nothing to do with her at all.

Kash Doll Wonders What Kendrick Lamar Meant By “Find The Jewels”

Kash Doll explained how her mentions were flooded with news of the name-drop. At first, she says she was nervous to hear what was said about her. “Like Kendrick Lamar, what the f*ck he say?” she remembered thinking. “So I’m nervous, like, which way did this go? But I know I ain’t never did nothing or I haven’t even met Kendrick. So I’m listening to it and I’m trying to figure out, what did he say?” She went on, describing how she’s still surprised and confused by the whole thing.

Despite this, she thanked Kendrick for the unexpected shout-out. This reaction doesn’t necessarily come as a shock, as it appears to line up with a tweet she shared shortly after the song dropped. “Facts cause I’m tryna understand the lyrics lol,” she replied to a gif of a confused man at the time. “Where the music lyric geniuses at….”

Joe Budden Accuses Young Thug Of Playing Both Sides After Gunna Tweet

Lately, there’s been a great deal of speculation about Young Thug’s relationship with Gunna. Throughout Young Thug’s incarceration, he kept fairly quiet about Gunna, despite rampant rumors that the “fukumean” performer snitched on him. Now, following his release late last month, Young Thug has fans feeling more confused than ever. As part of his plea deal, Young Thug cannot contact any alleged gang members or YSL affiliates. The only exceptions to this rule are his brother and Gunna, who he specifically requested permission to work with again. This led to theories that the two of them are on good terms, but now, supporters aren’t so sure.

Over the weekend, Young Thug appeared to publicly diss Gunna in a simple tweet. “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy,” the now deleted post reads. In response, Gunna’s brother appeared to confirm that he feels the same way. “Trust and believe the feeling is mutual [blue P emoji],” he wrote.

During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, he shared his take on the debacle and accused Young Thug of playing both sides of the fence. According to him, Young Thug has plenty of reasons to want to keep in contact with Gunna, namely money. “All this principle and moral sh*t, I’m sick of it. N****s is out here doing sh*t for the dollar that’s better than them. I’ve been fighting trial with the most high-priced lawyers in the universe, I’m taking care of a million n****s… You would be a fool to turn down your top-tier act or say ‘Yo, I’m standing on principle I’m not taking a dollar from you.’”

Budden isn’t the first to share his theory about the rumored beef, however. Shortly after Young Thug seemingly dissed Gunna on X, DJ Akademiks took to the platform to respond. “I been told y’all,” he wrote in part. “Thug told durk baby and a few other rappers that Gunna was no good while [in prison]. Meaning it aint no way he can come back out and justify rockin wit gunna when he told n***as not to rock wit gunna [while in prison].”

Joe Budden Says “Something Funny” Has Been Going On With Megan Thee Stallion’s Numbers

Joe Budden discussed the success of Megan Thee Stallion’s newest release, Megan: Act II, during the latest episode of his podcast. In doing so, he and his co-hosts gave their opinion on the value of album sales and whether it has any standing with regard to an artist’s quality of music.

“The numbers to me act as the stock report. I big up Tyler because it’s not an artist thing. When we start talking numbers, we’re not talking artistry anymore,” Budden said. From there, he brought up Megan. “For me, I see the play on the blackboard, but the numbers is gonna tell what is and what’s not or why aren’t they being manipulated. If we putting you on everything spoken. If we tapping you to host the awards, we giving you the commercials, we putting you everywhere feasible, somebody that spent something to do with this is gonna want to see a number come back. It tells a story.”

As for what that story is, Budden said it shows “whoever is on your team is not looking for their payday from the music aspect of what’s going on.” He once again clarified, “numbers are not a reflection of artistry and quality of music,” but praised Tyler, the Creator for being so successful without too many tricks.

Joe Budden Reacts To TDE Punch Calling Out Hip-Hop Media After Kendrick Lamar’s SZA Interview

Recently, Kendrick Lamar sat down with SZA for Harper’s Bazaar, and the interview has since earned mixed reactions. Amid criticism, TDE Punch hopped on Twitter/X to share his take, arguing that hip-hop media might be the problem. “Is it ok to criticize the ‘critics’?” he asked. “Cause ultimately we’re just talking about opinions, right? Well my opinion (lol, I’m a critic) is we’re losing perspective on things. Something great or not so great happens, then we talk about it.”

“And that’s fine. Again, this is just my opinion today. It might change later. So wait for something great to happen, sleep on it, study it, and find something insightful to say about it. I respect Hip Hop Journalism and feel it’s needed in its truest form. It help keep the culture alive,” he continued. “But it’s only a few real ones left. Most of you guys are trash. Just my opinion. That’s why artist don’t want to talk to you.”

Joe Budden Discusses TDE Punch’s Take On Kendrick Lamar & SZA Interview

During a recent episode of his podcast, however, Joe Budden called cap on Punch’s claims. According to him, there were far too many options for this to have been a reasonable excuse. While he acknowledges that some hip-hop outlets can be “weird,” he says it would be nice if Kendrick had chosen one for his big interview.

“It’s too many places for me to just hear anybody say, ‘Yo, all hip-hop media is trash so this is why we’re moving like that.’ Please, knock it off… All hip-hop media is not trash, not at all. Kamala’s going to sit with Shannon Sharpe right now, just announced.” What do you think of Joe Budden’s reaction to TDE Punch’s take on Kendrick Lamar’s recent interview with SZA? Joe Budden Compares Lil Durk To Chief Keef After Arrest For Alleged Murder-For-Hire

Lil Durk’s arrest has earned mixed reactions in the hip-hop community. He was taken into custody in Florida earlier this week for alleged murder for hire. According to DJ Akademiks, he’s since been moved to Miami and is awaiting transport to Los Angeles. His arrest took place just hours after five alleged OTF affiliates were arrested and hit with similar charges. Authorities believe they were allegedly hired to kill Quando Rondo as revenge for King Von’s 2020 death.

If convicted, Durk could reportedly face life imprisonment or the death penalty. During a new episode of his podcast, Joe Budden shared his take on the situation, revealing that he finds it extremely unfortunate. “I’m just tired of seeing young, Black, successful people get the opportunity [and lose it] like that, because of where we came from and the things we’ve endured and experienced,” he explained.

Joe Budden Thinks Chief Keef “Did It The Right Way”

“At some point, somebody has to break the cycle,” he added. Budden went on to bring up another Chicago rapper, Chief Keef. He compared the two of them, arguing that Chief Keef managed to navigate his circumstances the right way. “I could not stop thinking of Chief Keef this whole time,” he said. “As an example of, or at least the only example I can think of, of somebody that did it the right way.”

“All I know is he got a record deal, word spread fast around the industry about who he be like it normally does, he wild out for a year…maybe the first year and a half, and then he boogied, he moved. He moved and we never heard a thing again,” Budden described. What do you think of Joe Budden’s take on Lil Durk’s recent arrest? What about his remarks about Chief Keef? Joe Budden Theorizes That Kendrick Lamar Was Pandering To Drake’s Audience During SZA Interview

Joe Budden has come to the defense of Kendrick Lamar amid criticism over his recent interview with SZA. Speaking about the Harper’s Bazaar cover story during the latest episode of his podcast, Budden and company spoke about some of the more controversial revelations.

The discussion started with the group speaking on Lamar’s comments about embracing his vulnerability while making music. Budden theorized the remarks were a way of appealing to Drake’s fanbase. “I felt like this is him coming around having to pander back to the pansies,” he said. “‘I killed King Pansy–‘ to him, I’m not calling him that. But, ‘I killed King Pansy, but I lost some pansies in the process, so I gotta come back around and appeal to them.’”

Budden isn’t the only person to speak out in defense of Lamar over the piece. When several voices in the media criticized him for taking an easy interview, TDE Punch wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “I respect Hip Hop Journalism and feel it’s needed in its truest form. Joe Budden Refuses To Apologize For Ranking His Mixtape Catalog Above Lil Wayne’s

Earlier this month, Joe Budden sparked a major debate, and now he’s doubling down. During a recent episode of his podcast, his co-host Ice asked “Who has the greatest mixtape discography?” Budden’s answer was simple but has since earned him some backlash. “Oh, that’s easy. Me,” he said.

After some discussion, Budden settled on a list of six names. “Yeah, I’m stopping it there: Jeezy, Wayne, 50, me, Fab and Kiss [Jadakiss],” he declared. Now, in response to the outrage over his remarks, he’s decided to clarify. In the newest episode of the podcast, he explained that he was simply sharing his own opinion, and wasn’t trying to persuade anyone to change their own.

Joe Budden Says He Was Just Sharing His Opinion

“I just want to announce that because my answer is something to a question, by no means am I trying to convince y’all to have the same answer or share in that,” Budden explained. “Yeah, I hate that sh*t. Answer a question on the pod and n****s want to come argue with you about your answer to a f*ckin’ subjective question. F*ck you n****s.” He went on, noting how he never actually said his mixtape discography was better than Lil Wayne’s, despite what some reports suggested.

Backlash over his mixtape remarks isn’t the only thing Budden’s fired back at recently, however. Earlier this week, he also shut down Jaguar Wright, who alleged that she saw a video of Budden having sex with Stevie J. “She is grabbing the salacious and very obvious headlines and expounding on them with s**t,” he said. “I can say with 100% certainty, oh, that this lady just be saying s**t to add to the luster of whatever the f**k she’s saying.” What do you think of Joe Budden doubling down on his stance that he has the greatest mixtape catalog? DDG Slams Joe Budden After He Jokingly Claimed To Be ‘Happy’ About The Rapper’s Split From Halle Bailey

Whether you know him as a YouTube prankster or humorous rapper, Uproxx cover star DDG doesn’t find anything funny about his split from Halle Bailey. On October 3, the “Way Too Petty” musician announced that after two years together, he and Bailey had officially broken up and would “remain best friends” as they raise their son, Halo.

While many fans still question the validity of DDG’s announcement, given his past antics, Joe Budden expressed his excitement about the news. So, yesterday (October 5), DDG took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam the rapper-turned-podcaster.

“‘Pump It Up’ went gold after 20 years u old b*tch,” he wrote. “Joe Budden, I’m on u 🫵🏽.”

He continued, writing: “N**** got 30 years MAX of life left and speaking on a relationship of people the same age as your son you ain’t take care of. I hope u forget to take your magnesium pills today u old b*tch, Joe Budden 🫵🏽.”

DDG also sent a message out to other men with negative opinions about him. “I don’t be tripping bout the girls saying sh*t cuz I’m used to it,” he wrote. “It’s all love. But you n****s wit platforms gonna get a response fasho.”

So, what did Joe Budden said to earn such a fiery response from DDG. During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast (viewable here), he joked about being happy for the split so he won’t see DDG’s name anymore. Read Joe Budden’s commentary below.

The question to my distinguished panel is a question that I’ve been asking myself for quite some time. Who the f*ck is DDG? And why am I supposed to care about his thoughts on anything?… I’m very happy that they have broken up so I don’t have to keep seeing this n****s’ name attached to this girl’s name when I don’t know his for nothing as the standalone. And for me, it’s important to know people based on their own name, merit, and what they have done. I don’t even know enough about her. Like, I’m not her demo either. But every time I see his name, it’s attached to hers, and it is typically in some type of clout chaser fashion. So, that makes me look at him a different way. And hopefully I get to look at him a lot less now that they’ve broken up.

The Joe Budden Podcast Reacts To Tommy Richman Saying He’s Not A Hip-Hop Artist

The Joe Budden Podcast recently debated Tommy Richman’s viral claim about not being a hip-hop artist. If you didn’t hear about the debacle, catch up here. “I’m not going to call him [a culture vulture],” the host began. “Because he’s worked hard, he has music, he’s been working on music for a long time.” “Duh,” Ish said about Tommy Richman not being a hip-hop artist before he and Budden talked about how they didn’t like “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” very much. The group then felt like Richman should’ve just said his response to DJ Hed outright instead of simply tweeting out that he’s not a hip-hop artist, given how volatile and reactive social media reactions can be.

“You’ve been busting your a** to break through,” Joe Budden remarked about Tommy Richman. “Didn’t do it for whatever reason. And then you’ve got ‘MILLION DOLLAR BABY,’ and then Black people, and then TikTok, and then culture pushed you to where you needed to be. Now is not the right time for ‘I’m not a hip-hop artist.’ I have no problem with ‘I’m not just a hip-hop artist’ or ‘I’m much more than just a hip-hop artist.’ […] Yeah, why are you even tweeting? You got the easiest job in the world, Tommy Richman: shut the f**k up!

The Joe Budden Podcast Speaks On Tommy Richman’s Hip-Hop Claims

“You and that group of people that can receive your success and never have to talk to Black people,” Joe Budden continued. “But when the first time you speak speaks to the years of – ‘Cause I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with what he said. I don’t look at him as a hip-hop artist either. N***a, you did not have to say that. But you saying it when hip-hop is who has broken you and accepted you, it gives us remnants of all of the white acts who their barrier of entry is hip-hop, and they abandon it, and they throw it to the side, and then they start doing country-folk music and act like that s**t never happened. Tommy Richman ain’t fire enough to do that yet. Sorry, sorry.

“Now, he did clean it up,” Joe Budden conceded. “Thank you, DJ Hed. Thank you, Tommy Richman, for not sounding as stupid as we thought you were about to sound.” However, Ice posited that Richman’s true issue was with media publications labeling him a hip-hop artist, which is a fair and valid theory. Melyssa Ford countered that Richman’s team should’ve been cognizant of how a statement like “I’m not a hip-hop artist” would resonate with the culture. Then, Joe Budden said that “the conversation is deeper” than the COYOTE artist might’ve thought.
