Gunna Keeps Hitting The Gym & Sculpting His Shape In New Picture

Gunna was away from the game for a while, but this year, he fully returned to hip-hop in ways big and small. Sure, his reintroduction fell under scrutiny and controversy due to his plea deal, but he’s certainly seen a lot of success regardless. For example, fans mostly responded positively to his new album, a Gift & a Curse, with “fukumean” becoming one of the year’s biggest rap hits. However, the YSL affiliate also revamped his public image in the purely physical sense, and started doing so far before dropping new music. With this new picture, we now have a lot of chapters in the saga of Wunna’s physical transformation.

Moreover, a new snap shows Gunna working out in athletic gear, and it’s almost too hard to recognize him. That would be true even if the picture was from another angle, since this one just captures his side profile. Still, that consideration didn’t stop fans from expressing their impressed, shocked, and downright incredulous reactions to the College Park MC’s bulk-up. While people sometimes cruelly clowned him for being a big boy compared to other rappers in his lane, that’s definitely not a valid joke to make anymore.

Gunna Shows Off More Workout Gains

What’s more is that it seems like the 30-year-old doesn’t even have to try very hard to show up in the news. There’s already been a lot of conversation around his physical transformation, but now there’s a lot of memes tying him to Donald Trump. After all, the disgraced president hired the same lawyer that got Gunna his plea deal to help him out in one of his four criminal indictments. Even though it doesn’t help the “snitching” allegations, it’s a pretty comical and curious connection from two people we can’t imagine in the same room together.

Meanwhile, it’s hard to tell what’s next for the Drip Season artist- at least, when it comes to his career. We know he’ll probably stay on his gym grind, but more releases, collaborations, and a higher profile in the game is still up in the air. It wouldn’t be surprising, but many fans wonder whether his history behind bars will ever catch up to him, especially as the YSL trial moves forward. With that in mind, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Gunna.

Kanye West Finally Has A Diamond-Certified Record Thanks To ‘Stronger’

Landing a hit record is already hard enough, but a Diamond-certified song is even harder. Luckily for Kanye West, he recently achieved both thanks to one of the most popular songs off his third album Graduation. The Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) announced that the rapper’s 2007 track “Stronger” just became his first Diamond-certified single. What that denotes is that the single sold at least 10 million copies since its release 14 years ago.

Four months after its release, “Stronger” became the rapper’s third No. 1 single when it reached the top of the singles chart at the end of September in 2007. Additionally, the song won a plethora of awards, which includes Best Hip-Hop Video at the 2007 BET Awards, Video Of The Year, Best Director, and Best Editing at the 2007 MTV VMAs, and Best Rap Solo Performance at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

One of the most infamous stories behind “Stronger” is that it was reportedly mixed more than 75 times before and after its release. West worked with eight audio engineers and 11 mix engineers from all over the world on the song, but it wasn’t until he called on Timbaland to re-do the track’s drum programming that he felt satisfied. Still, West later decided the song wasn’t nearly as good as Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” which he sampled for “Stronger.”

Janelle Monáe Unveils A Stirring New Song, ‘Stronger,’ From The Netflix Show ‘We The People’

Janelle Monáe has released a brand-new song titled “Stronger,” taken from the soundtrack to the forthcoming Netflix show We The People.

Executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, the 10-part series features a number of big musical names, such as Monáe, HER, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Adam Lambert, who teach viewers about civil rights movements. Meanwhile, Monáe’s “Stronger” rolls out with an up-stroked reggae rhythm, as the Dirty Computer singer waxes poetic about seeking solidarity in the face of adversity. “Some of the friends taught me how to dream / Some of the friends taught me how to fight,” Monáe sings. “Even those times when we don’t agree / We know we all tryna save the same day / We don’t want the life without the liberty.”

Monáe has woven civil rights issues into her music over the last few years, such as when she released “Turntables,” for the 2020 documentary about Stacey Abrams, All In: The Fight For Democracy. Of writing music to inspire change, Monáe told Rolling Stone: “What is a revolution without a song? I started thinking about all the people on the front line. What could be my gift to them? It was this song to remind them that the tables are turning. We’re seeing that progress is being made, even in the midst of dealing with such traumatic events. We have figured out a way to be the solution. I wanted this to be my gift because revolutionaries need love too. They need inspiration, and they need an anthem. This is my stab at that.”

Listen to “Stronger” above, and check out We The People when it hits Netflix on July 4. Ahead of them, watch a trailer below.
