Stipe Miocic Takes Shot At Jon Jones

Stipe Miocic has been a rumored opponent of Jon Jones since Jones announced his move to heavyweight. However, with Jones’ recent domination of Ciryl Gane, the rumors have only heated up more. In his heavyweight fight inside the UFC, Jones earned the title of UFC Heavyweight champion. Jones made quick work of Gane, submitting the top heavyweight in just two minutes. Miocic just happened to be in attendance for the fight. With camera quickly finding the former champ in the crowd.

Jones is arguably the greatest fighter in UFC history. The former Light-Heavyweight champion has defeated every opponent he has ever faced in the octagon. However, Miocic is not some slouch looking for a big fight. Miocic once reigned over the Heavyweight championship as well. Including wins over Francis Ngannou and two victories over Daniel Cormier. But Miocic hasn’t been seen in the octagon since a brutal TKO loss to Ngannou in 2021. The bout saw Ngannou claim the Heavyweight title. Which in Ngannnou later dropped after a shocking departure from the company.

Stipe Miocic Ready To Take Heavyweight Crown

Dana White was recently a guest on The Pat McAfee Show. During his appearance, White mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to Jones since the fighter’s heavyweight debut. White mentioned that Jones wants the fight with Miocic. But to just let him know when the time is right. Miocic got a chance to see the clip of White discussing Jones, then fired off the above tweet. The former Cleveland firefighter seemed to accuse Jones of potentially running from the big matchup. A claim that Jones has made about Miocic as well.

The biggest heavyweight fight to make right now would be Miocic and Jones. While Ngannou and Jones felt like the bigger ticket, that fight isn’t an option. Miocic is ready to step up to the plate. So it now seems like it is up to White to make the fight official. A Jones victory will only further cement “Bones” as being the greatest fighter in all of MMA. However, a Miocic victory could open the door for a potential of multiple fights between them. Do you believe Stipe Miocic has what it takes to take down Jon Jones? Jon Jones Reveals Who He Wants To Fight Next

Jon Jones is one of the best fighters to ever touch the UFC. Overall, he is a legend who is considered to be one of the greatest talents ever. Unfortunately, positive drug tests and out-of-the-octagon issues have derailed his career a bit. He hasn’t fought in the UFC in a while, and fans are waiting for him to make his long-awaited return. It would have happened a lot sooner, however, various contract disputes with the UFC have put that on pause. Although, now, Jones is ready to make his big return at UFC 285 on March 4th.

Jones will be fighting against Cyril Gane, and it should be quite the matchup. Gane is one of the best in his division, and Jones is making a comeback effort. With all of this in mind, fans are expecting an instant classic between the two. Moreover, in an interview with TMZ, Jones praised Gane. “I got a huge, huge order ahead of me,” Jones said about Gane. In fact, he even called the fighter “one of the best talents the UFC has ever seen.”

Jon Jones Looks Ahead

In the very same interview, Jones spoke about his future and whom he would like to fight if he beats Gane. It seems like the answer to that question is very simple. He wants to battle it out with former heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic. This would be an amazing fight, and Jones knows it. “People consider him the greatest heavyweight of all time,” Jones said. “The opportunity to compete against such a man, I’d be honored. The opportunity to beat such a guy would be truly something special.”

This is a fight that would have UFC fans salivating. Of course, Dana White would have to make sure that the contracts are right to make it happen. Overall, White has been known for underpaying fighters. When you have two legends willing to go up against each other, you can’t be skipping out on paying them. For now, though, Jones will set his sights on Gane. Let us know who you think is going to come out victorious, down in the comments below.
