“The Mandalorian” Season 4 Gets Massive Update

Disney+ will be dropping the highly-anticipated third season of The Mandalorian at the beginning of March. However, the show’s creator, Jon Favreau, has confirmed to BFM TV that the scripts for Season 4 are already completed. Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to officially announce a fourth season. Therefore, Favreau and the Mandalorian crew are just waiting for the green light to begin shooting from the studio. Apparently, Favreau wrote the Season 4 scripts during Season 3’s post-production. In doing so, he kept in mind that the series needs to fit into the larger network of the Star Wars universe. There are multiple Star Wars series in the works, including Ahsoka.

When asked about the fourth season of The Mandalorian, Favreau said, “Season 4, yeah I’ve written it already. We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.” Watch the clip below:

“The Mandalorian” Season 4

Favreau continues on to say that “[Dave’s] doing Ahsoka, which I’m producing with him. He’s the writer and showrunner on that. To understand what’s happening on other shows….Skeleton Crew all take place within the same Star Wars time period. There’s a lot more things that we’ve got to keep in mind and also stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian as well.”

Rosario Dawson plays the live-action version of Ahsoka. Her character originally debuted in the previous season of The Mandalorian. However, she’s now getting her own series with Disney+. The show will be set in the same time frame as The Mandalorian. Additionally, Jude Law will be starring in a Star Wars series called Skeleton Crew. That show will also take place during the same time period as Disney+’s The Mandalorian. A third Star Wars series, The Acolyte will star Amanda Stenberg. That show will take place many years in the past. Therefore, it will operate on a different schedule from The Mandalorian. Season 4 of The Mandalorian debuts on March 1 on Disney+.

Liam Neeson Reveals Why “Star Wars” Has Lost Its Allure

One of the most common interview questions asked of Liam Neeson is if he would ever return to his role as Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn. Fans are used to his response of “no.” This trend continued when Neeson joined the likes of Paul Rudd on the February 16 episode of Watch What Happens Live! However, in the episode, Neeson elaborated on why he feels the way that he does. He said that the Star Wars franchise is hurting the magic that it holds. When asked if he was returning, Neeson said, “No, I’m not. There’s so many spinoffs of ‘Star Wars.’ It’s diluting it to me, and it’s taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way.”

Liam Neeson did make a brief appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series on Disney+. However, he only had roughly two lines of dialogue. He made his debut in the Star Wars universe in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 1999. However, his character died, and his time in Star Wars ended. While Neeson would not return for a spin-off, he told ComicBook.com last year that he would reprise the character under one condition: his returning appearance would need to be in a movie, not a television show.

Neeson On “Watch What Happens Live!”

Back then, he said about a Star Wars return: “Oh, I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so…if it was a film. Yeah, I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to TV, I must admit. I just like the big screen, you know? Qui-Gon, I can’t believe it’s 24 years since we made The Phantom Menace, I just cannot believe where the time has gone. It was a terrific experience, shooting that film in London.”

Neeson’s statement about Star Wars spin-off quantity is accurate. As far as movies go, Lucasfilm has released Rogue One and Solo outside of its main Skywalker storyline. Furthermore, Star Wars has continued to expand its universe on Disney+ with television shows. The network has premiered The Mandalorian, The Book of Bobo Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the past. In continuation, upcoming series releases include season 3 of The Mandalorian, which launches on March 1, 2023. Plus, Ashoka and The Acolyte are premiering on the network

James Earl Jones Officially Retires His Voice From Star Wars

james earl jones darth vader

Distinguished actor James Earl Jones is officially retiring from Star Wars. After 45 years of voicing ‘Darth Vader,’ Jones announced he’s officially signed his voice rights over to Lucasfilm.

The Oscar winner first debuted his voiceover role in the original 1977 film, as the iconic Star Wars villain, giving voice to the ‘Sith Lord’ while David Prowse physically portrayed the character.

Now, sound editors will use archival recordings and an A.I. program to create new dialogue with his iconic voice.  This method has already been used in the Star Wars franchise to recreate the voice of a young ‘Luke Skywalker,’ and to mimic Darth Vader’s voice in the new show ”Obi-Wan Kenobi.”

According to Vanity Fair, Jones has given his blessing for Lucasfilm to use his signature voice in future Star Wars content, even those made after his own passing.

Star Wars And Rick Riordan Stand Behind Black Stars As They Face Onslaught Of Racist Harassment

Thundercat Offers A Look At His Character Poster From ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’

Last week, Thundercat fans who also love the Star Wars franchise (I’m sure there is a sizable overlap, considering the popularity of the galaxy far, far away) were delighted to see the jazz revivalist pop up in the latest episode of The Book Of Boba Fett as an underground cybernetics technician employed by the bounty hunter turned wannabe crime boss to save The Mandalorian‘s former bounty Fennec Shand from a gutshot. This week, those same fans have more reasons to be excited about Thundercat’s role after he shared the official poster for his character Mod Artist.

Considering the show has only released posters for those guest stars who have recurring roles on the show so far, it’s probably safe to assume that Mod Artist — and therefore Thundercat — will appear on the show again to support Boba’s growing criminal empire. In a fun plus for ‘Cat fans, the character features few prosthetics, letting him resemble his real-life counterpart rather than one of Star Wars‘ massive menagerie of interesting-looking aliens. But, true to his character’s job grafting machine parts to Tattooine’s punk youth, Mod Artist sports a droid arm with attachments including a buzz saw and various probes that help him in his work.

While it remains to be seen how the character will fit into the show’s grand scheme, there’s no doubt it’s a dream come true for the sci-fi-loving Thundercat, who has referenced all kinds of Star Wars-adjacent work in his musical output.

Mark Hamill Shared Some Memes Mashing Up ‘Get Back’ With ‘Star Wars,’ Because He Too Is Apparently Bingeing The New Beatles Series

There were a lot of viewing options over the Thanksgiving holiday, but few were as epic as Get Back, the three-part, nearly eight-hour doc series about chronicling the recording of The Beatles’ album Let It Be. It’s a game-changer in a lot of ways. For one, it dispels the myth that Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s soon-to-be-wife, was a disruptive presence who led to the band’s break-up. One person who seems to have chosen the Beatles over, say, the new South Park movie is none other than Mark Hamill.

The actor and “good at social media” celeb dropped a handful of memes that photoshopped various Star Wars figures into famous photos of the Fab Four. There’s the young him as Luke Skywalker hanging with them circa what looks like 1966. There’s him, Carrie Fisher’s Leia, Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca among the throngs in the cover of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. There’s John, Paul, George, and Ringo decked out in Storm Trooper regalia.

What’s the connection? Both Star Wars and Get Back (though no other Beatles content) are owned by Disney. Or maybe Hamill just really, really likes The Beatles. Who doesn’t? In the meantime, hats off to the many who spent a large chunk of their holiday weekend rocking out with The Beatles as they appeared to really enjoy each other’s company — apart from that stretch where George Harrison quits the band, of course.
