Blxst Teams Up With Larry June For “Keep Calling”

Blxst has partnered with Larry June for his latest single, “Keep Calling.” The Los Angeles rapper shared the new track with an accompanying music video on Friday.

The new video is directed by Direct Dev & CreatedbyBlu and sees Blxst and June driving around town in a Mercedes-Benz convertible. The two rap about the money and success they’ve come into this year.

“Double up on this world tour, then drop again, while you lookin’ for a block to spin, International Blxst, you can’t box me in,” Blxst raps on the song.

Blxst is finishing up a busy 2022 that saw the rapper appear on songs with some of the biggest artists in hip-hop. Firstly, he collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on his Grammy-nominated album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Blxst appeared on the song, “Die Hard.”

Additionally, he was featured on Chris Brown’s “Show It,” Kalan.FrFr’s “No Stoppin,” Burna Boy’s “Solid,” Mozzy’s “Wouldn’t Be Us,” The Game’s “Talk To Me Nice,” and Babyface Ray’s “Spend It.”

June has also been putting together a solid output in 2022. Back in March, he teamed up with Jay Worthy for 2 P’z In A Pod. The project featured appearances from Jim Jones, Roc Marciano, CeeLo Green, and Suga Free. Later in August, June shared his own project, Spaceships on the Blade. For the effort, he welcomed Curren$y, 2 Chainz, and Syd across the 20-song tracklist.

Larry June Makes A Fated Connection In The Sun-Drenched ‘I’ll Make Time’ Video

Larry June keeps it as cool as the September breeze in his new video for “I’ll Make Time.” The San Francisco native has been promoting his new album, Spaceships On The Blade, with a string of sunny but lo-fi videos perfect for the album’s casual vibe. “I’ll Make Time” is no exception, finding Larry cruising through the California desert with the top down and repeatedly crossing paths with a pretty woman on a drive of her own. They don’t meet until near the end of the video, though, when Larry leaves his wallet in a diner after enjoying a glass of his favorite beverage.

I don’t know if you could call what’s happening with Larry June a “breakout.” He’s been around for quite a while and unlike some rappers who explode into the spotlight seemingly all at once with a viral hit, Larry has been easing his way into it, growing his following slowly but organically as his magnetic personality draws in listeners of fellow low-key luxury rappers like Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, and LE$ (all names he’s collaborated with over the years). Rather than pursuing radio or TikTok, Larry keeps up a steady stream of laid-back bangers like “Private Valet,” “Don’t Check Me,” and “Corte Madera, CA,” sticking to his guns and letting the world catch on.

The strategy appears to be working. Larry has secured a co-headlining spot on the returning Red Bull SoundClash with two events alongside Detroiter Babyface Ray in both rappers’ hometowns next month.

Larry June’s ‘Spaceships On The Blade’ Is Out And It Has Fans Fawning Over Its Undeniably Cool Touch

Larry June just unveiled his new LP Spaceships On The Blade after building anticipation with singles and videos like “Don’t Check Me” and “Private Valet.” It finally came out yesterday, and now social media is overflowing with appreciation from fans, especially for its suave feeling.

“Larry June be rapping bout drinking apple juice and make that sh*t sound so fly,” one person wrote. Another praised, “Ya’ll wasn’t lying this Larry June really sliding song for song no skips.” Yet another added, “I love Larry June. Man raps about good credit, smoothies, expensive candles, a healthy lifestyle and financial freedom. I’ll take all that good energy on a beat!”

The 20-track album includes features from Herm Lewis, 2 Chainz, Duckwrth, Syd, Babyface Ray, and Curren$y. Spaceships arrives just under five months after June’s collaborative project 2 P’z In A Pod, with Jay Worthy and Lndn Drgs. “That’s really my brother u don’t meet many people in this industry that are solid and genuine like that,” Worthy said in a statement. “We really a team and it’s deeper then than rap with us, it’s family! Larry the only person who truly understood the Lndn Drgs sound. If you notice, Larry June the only other rapper other than myself who receives production from Sean House.”

Larry June Beams Under The West Coast Sun In His Laid Back ‘Don’t Check Me’ Video

Larry June is secure in who he is, and for anyone who has doubts about his ability or him the man, he has one simple message in his record: “Don’t Check Me.” The new video finds rapper smoking per usual, convening with his crew, and riding around in a droptop with the clear assertion “Don’t check me, check that b*tch.”

The vintage visual filter on top of the California-heavy drums and synths provides a classic feel. Though June prospers in this current era, he also serves as a reminder of the greatness the West Coast has produced for decades now.”Play by the rules man, you know how it go,” the rapper spits.

“Don’t Check Me” arrives as part of Larry June’s new album Spaceships On The Blade. The 20-track offering includes features from Herm Lewis, 2 Chainz, Duckwrth, Syd, Babyface Ray, and Curren$y. June, a known frequent releaser, drops Spaceships off just under five months since his collaborative project 2 P’z In A Pod with Jay Worthy and Lndn Drgs. If that’s not enough of an indicator of his work ethic, just six months earlier he released his seven-song project Into The Late Night.
