Ab-Soul Returns With New Track “Moonshooter”

After making his return to music earlier this year with the release of his track “Hollandaise,” Ab-Soul is back with a new single entitled, “Moonshooter.”

According to the California native’s label, Top Dawg Entertainment, his much anticipated album is finally complete, and will feature the Poptartpete produced track. “Album done. Warmup tonight. @souloho3 “Moonshooter,” the label’s official Instagram page shared.

Ab-Soul’s upcoming project will mark his first full body of work since his fourth studio album, Do What Thou Wilt, in 2016. Back in December, the 35-year old Black Hippy star shared a snippet of an unreleased track, causing fans to get even more impatient waiting for his album to drop. At the top of last year, Soul once again got listeners excited when he tweeted, “Let’s try this again people!!! Luv,” which some took as a hint that he’d be dropping an album soon.

Though nothing came of it, it seems that we’re closer to getting new Ab-Soul music now than ever before. No word on the upcoming album’s official title. Check out “Moonshooter” below.

Bleu Drops “Love In The Way” Ft. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has been blessing her fans with brand new music non-stop in recent weeks. This time around, the Barb linked up with Bleu for his latest single “Love In The Way.” Earlier this week both Bleu and Nicki took to social media to tease their highly anticipated collaboration with fans. “Love In The Way @nickiminaj [moon emoji] HITS ONLY! Juelz Santana Is In His Bag On “Whitney”

It looks like we might be able to expect tons of new music from Dipset this fall. While Jim Jones continues his incredible run, Cam’ron is readying a new project with A-Trak titled, U Wasn’t There. However, it looks like Juelz Santana also has some heat in the stash.

Following a string of releases since last including “Biggie’s Voice” and “Same Energy” ft. Benny The Butcher, Juelz slid through with his latest release, “Whitney” this week. Heatmakerz hold down the production with a sample of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” while detailing the Harlem streets with lyrical precision. Juelz Santana is back in his bag with this one. If this is any indication of what he has in store this fall, it looks like we’re going to be getting some incredible efforts from Dipset in the near future.

Quotable Lyrics
Whip game immaculate, master with the packagin’
I’ve been movin’ with the Ye, way before Kardashians
Cocaine activist, traffickin’
Natural-born savages, accept all challenges
Had ’em linin’ up to get some, whip it ’til my wrist numb
Kept a big gun, when it shoot, it make my bitch jump

Symba & Roddy Ricch Vow To “Never Change” On New Collab

By now, the stage is set for Symba’s grand entrance. The Oakland-born rapper has kept the streets on their toes for the release of his next album, especially after locking in with Dr. Dre. On Friday, Results Takes Time, his Gangsta Grillz tape with DJ Drama, will be out in its entirety with features from a slew of heavyweights in the game, like Pusha T and 2 Chainz.

Today, he gave fans a final taste of what to expect from his upcoming opus. “Never Change” ft. Roddy Ricch showcases Symba’s range. We’ve seen his capabilities as an MC but he leans towards the melodic stylings of Roddy Ricch with an infectious California bounce. Still, the beat switches into something more ferocious, and Symba easily matches that energy with a vigorous flow. In the song, Symba reflects on his growing status in the music industry, vowing that money and Rfame will never change him.

The latest from Symba is a promising sign of what’s to come. Check the song below.

Quotable Lyrics

Ravyn Lenae Calls On Doechii For “Xtasy” Remix

Could a deluxe edition of Ravyn Lenae’s highly praised album, Hypnos be on the way? The project arrived in May and has remained in steady rotation since its release. Today, the singer unleashed a revamped version of “XTasy,” including a new verse from Doechii. The vibrant, dance-floor friendly vibe boasts production from Kaytranada, and Doechii’s contributions to the record certainly help elevate the vibe even further.

The new single from Ravyn Lenae arrives just before she’s expected to hit the road as Omar Apollo’s headlining North American tour. The tour kicks off in San Diego on Oct. 21st before closing out in Toronto on November 29th.

As for Doechii, the TDE signee is fresh off of the release of she / her / black bitch which boasts appearances from Rico Nasty, Jst Ray and SZA.

WizKid Shares New Single “Bad To Me”

Fresh off of gracing the stage as Sunday’s headliner at Rolling Loud Toronto, WizKid’s bringing fiery energy back into the fold with the release of his new single, “Bad To Me.” WizKid’s long-time collaborator P2J holds down the production, which has a vibrant yet lowkey feel that builds up with Wiz’s vocals. It’s a lustful song that builds off of the success of his Grammy-nominated Made In Lagos, proving that the Nigerian star can’t miss. The latest single from WizKid arrives just after his latest album surpassed a billion streams on all streaming platforms.

Last week, WizKid earned a bold co-sign from Kanye West who called his song, “Essence,” the best song in the history of music.

Big Scarr Turns Up On “Havin Fun”

It’s a big year for Big Scarr. The 1017 rapper began slowly bubbling up under Gucci Mane’s wing, while artists like Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty started getting their foot through the door. Scarr awaited his time and it seems like it’s coming soon. This year, he secured a spot on the XXL Freshman cover while riding high off of the release of Big Grim Reaper: The Return.

This week, he came through with his latest drop, “Havin Fun.” The rapper takes on glitchy production with an ominous twist as he details his collection of jewelry and staying protected at all times.

The release of his new single comes shortly after he dropped off “First Time In Vegas” which arrived a few weeks ago.

Check his new song below.

Quotable Lyrics
Before I go broke, I sleep in the tent
Bitch, I ball off the bench
Wop gave a n***a the torch
He told me keep runnin’, young n**a you poppin’ your shit

Tee Grizzley Keeps It Vivid On “Robbery Part 4”

When we talk about the current state of Detroit’s rap scene, it’s necessary to bring up Tee Grizzley. Over the past five years, he’s proven to be one of the most consistent rappers in the game with a keen sense of storytelling. There’s no better example of that than the “Robbery” series. He launched part one in 2020 before unleashing two more installments to the series since.

Today, he unveiled the fourth installment of the series. The latest is a detailed account of getting rid of the witness. Grizzley delivers a play-by-play of murdering a woman who testified against him, only to find out that she didn’t die but was left in critical condition.

The music video for the song also includes a dedication to PNB Rock, who was fatally shot in L.A. this weekend.

Quotable Lyrics
Replayin’ the event my head, how she alive?
But real shit, if it ain’t your time, it ain’t your time
I know n***as that got shot like 20 times and survived
Then n***as that caught one leg shot and end up dying

O.T. Genasis Releases New Single “I Know You Feel A Way”

O.T. Genasis has had a prolific 2022 so far. While he hasn’t dropped any projects, he just released his sixth single of the year, “I Know You Feel A Way.” The Long Beach-based rapper has kept a relatively low profile as of late, last appearing in the headlines for contemplating a boxing match with Lamar Odom. Regardless, he’s been dropping energetic tracks consistently and it might result in a new album soon (no official news on that yet, though he did tease an album back in August of 2020).

On the track, O.T. employs a similar style to his previous 2022 singles: a simple melody behind hard-hitting, Memphis-inspired beats (this time courtesy of producer Bandplay), some cold-blooded delivery that dips between laidback and assertive, and the lyrical debauchery you’d expect from the MC that made “Coco.” It’s no switch-up, and it feels supported by the fact that he’s been dropping plenty of songs as of late. Regardless, if you’re looking for another potential banger to add to your playlists, the 35-year-old rapper seems ready to feed with track after track.

Genasis’s previous 2022 singles include “Thang Thangin,” whose music video has garnered over 250K views and is another example of the style emulated on “I Know You Feel A Way.” This song will still remind you of O.T.’s biggest hits from the 2010s, even if recent artists like Duke Deuce have taken this delivery and style of instrumental into other directions.

Besides these releases, O.T. Genasis has kept busy with other artist business such as performing at T-Pain’s inaugural Wiscansin Fest (if you want to hear about some unreleased music T-Pain played at the festival, click here). If you’re interested in what the “Everybody Mad” rapper’s got in store for fans, check out his latest single “I Know You Feel A Way” and some quotable lyrics below.
