BlueBucksClan Links Up With Lil Yachty For “Last Minute”

BlueBucksClan, the Los Angeles rap duo known for its inimitable cadences and inclusion of straight-faced comedy into its lyrics, is back today with the second single from their forthcoming mixtape Clan Virus 2. Since emerging as a group in 2019, BlueBucksClan members DJ and Jeeezy have been building a catalog that’s just as consistent as it is quirky. Now, ahead of the release of Clan Virus 2, the duo is welcoming Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty into their unique sonic fold on “Last Minute.”

Although DJ and Jeeezy don’t typically do collaborations outside of BlueBucksClan, “Last Minute” definitely illustrates how easily they work with other artists. Lil Yachty manages to adopt the crew’s unique flow as well as their humorous flexes, and he delivers two eccentric verses throughout the song’s two-minute runtime, with pop-culture references to The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody and fellow rapper Ski Mask The Slump God. “Last Minute” follows February’s equally infectious “Horace Grant” and properly sets listeners up for the impending release of Clan Virus 2.

Are you feeling BlueBucksClan and Lil Yachty’s unique performance on “Last Minute?”

Quotable Lyrics

Whatchu mean who I’m with? B*tch, you too nosey
Run around the lobby like my brother first name Cody
F*ck it, run around the lobby like Mr. Mosby
Made another O and n*gga I don’t even wear Oakleys
Ridin’ round with a ski mask like my name is Stokely

6 Dogs Posthumously Releases “Beach House” With RIZ LA VIE

6 Dogs was one of the strongest forces in Atlanta’s underground rap scene, delivering some standout songs throughout his young career. “Faygo Dreams” has surpassed over 100 million streams on Spotify and it doesn’t seem like it will be stopping anytime soon. There was just something so special about 6 Dogs, which makes the end of his story all the more tragic.

The rapper took his own life earlier this year, just weeks before he was set to release his latest studio album. At the time of his death, 6 Dogs’ album RONALD, titled after his given name, was fully complete along with a schedule of what to release as singles and when. This project is exactly as 6 Dogs envisioned it. The latest single to arrive from RONALD is the catchy “Beach House” with a feature from RIZ LA VIE.

The song was released alongside a music video, which shows Chase enjoying life on the beach with RIZ LA VIE. His lyrics are very relatable, especially right now, as he says, “I need a vacation, I been in the house.” According to his team, this was Chase’s favorite song on the album.

6 Dogs Forever. Listen to the new single below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Leave and don’t come back, road trip from myself, okay
Now I’m countin’ racks, now I ain’t lookin’ back, okay
Trips in the spaceship, sunlight medication
Count up with my brothers, we some big stunters

LBS Kee’vin Self-Reflects On “Soul Burden” With Fredo Bang

One of the most exciting artists emerging from Florida’s loaded rap scene, LBS Kee’vin is breathing new life into Pensacola’s hip-hop presence. Not many rappers have broken out of LBS Kee’vin’s neighborhood, so it means a lot for the 24-year-old to be getting the kind of buzz he’s been blessed with.

Following his breakout Belair Baby releases, as well as the hit record “Shining” with 42 Dugg, LBS Kee’vin is looking to make a big splash this year with lots of new music. He’s continuing his run with the release of “Soul Burden”, featuring another rising talent, rapper Fredo Bang.

The song is an introspective look into how Kee’vin and Fredo Bang have been living as of late. With eerie chords, a trap drumbeat, and street lyrics, Fredo and Kee’vin’s new song is sure to be a successful one with the right moves.

Listen to “Soul Burden” below and let us know if you’re vibing with it in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

Ain’t lovin’ on no b*tch I couldn’t f*ck if I was broke ’cause it’s a guarantee the second you in jail that she gon’ go
I can’t call you my brother, you weren’t with me out there trappin’ out the store, I couldn’t call you when the police kicked the door
Ain’t see it comin’, that’s a shame on me
Burden on my mind, it put the blame on me
They tried to apologize, but it ain’t no need
I cross ’em out when they decide to hate on me and put a date on me

Lil Durk, King Von, & Booka600 Unite For “Out The Roof”

Every rapper worth their salt should probably have a crew on hand, so it’s no surprise to see Lil Durk step up with his Only The Family roster standing behind him. Today marks the release of Only The Family’s Loyal Bros project, which finds over twenty-four contributors scattered across the twenty-three track compilation. And while there are certainly many highlights found throughout, it’s hard not to immediately gravitate toward a collaboration between Lil Durk and the late King Von, who reunite on “Out The Roof.”

Bringing 600Booka into the mix, the trifecta unite over a haunting instrumental produced by TouchOfTrent, a suitable backdrop for the menacing track. “Come run up your blick like you on that, they gon’ challenge you,” spits Durk. “I can’t even cap, I had that MAC, I held a lot of tool.” While brief, King Von closes the session with a welcome verse, though for some, the subject matter of his lyrics might take on a different light given the circumstances of his death. Still, his reflections on his bleak lifestyle was part of what made him such a compelling artist, and “Out The Roof” is a welcome reminder of what he brought to the table.

Check it out for yourself now, and sound off if you’re enjoying OTF’s new compilation tape.

Who you got? Why you talking ’bout all them bodies?

Tyler, The Creator Embraces The Odd On “Tell Me How (Coca-Cola Commercial)”

Tyler, The Creator has come a long way, from engaging in juvenile debauchery to securing Grammy awards to landing major commercial deals. On the latter topic, Tyler recently provided the score for a new Coca-Cola commercial, where he decided to embrace some of his oddest instincts and craft a truly bizarre soundscape for the occasion. While it’s hardly a typical Tyler track, the largely-instrumental cut certainly features some of his hallmark staples, as up-tempo percussion and jarring synthesizers combine in one sugar-fueled package.

While it’s unclear as to whether or not “Tell Me How” will actually make listeners want to consume Coca-Cola, it’s certainly interesting that this is the music he delivered for the established soda brand. Though it’s probably not going to crack even the most generous list of “best hip-hop commercial compositions,” with Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre’s Beats ad still reigning supreme (and the DJ Quik-produced Foot Locker cypher not far behind), it’s still cool to see Tyler enter the fold behind such a major brand. Check it out for yourself below, in full innuendo-heavy glory.

Jacquees Taps Mulatto For Hypnotic & Sultry Banger “Freaky As Me”

The self-proclaimed King of R&B is back with a new single that may just prove his infamous self-declaration to actually be an accurate one. The Atlanta artist behind the fan-favorite QueMix series, Jacquees has long been one of the most infectious voices in R&B. Recently, the Cash Money artist has been dealing with a public breakup involving Chicago singer and rapper Dreezy and advocating for Teyana Taylor to call off her retirement, but now, the Atlanta singer-songwriter has unleashed a sultry new banger starring fellow Atlanta rapper Mulatto.

“Freaky As Me,” Jacquees’ first single of 2021, is a short, two-minute single that sports magnificent, hypnotic production and a repetitive sensual refrain in which the Atlanta artist demands to know if his romantic partner is as freaky as he is. Mulatto, who has been absolutely killing her guest verses as of late, contributes a sultry verse in which she confirms that she can match whatever sexual energy that her partner sends her way.  Everything considered, Jacquees and Mulatto showcase their excellent chemistry on “Freaky As Me,” which is pulled from the King of R&B’s upcoming album P.T.O.F.

No release date has been announced for P.T.O.F., but if “Freaky As Me” takes off like it’s supposed to, fans will likely get more updates on that project very soon.

Quotable Lyrics

You can give it all to me, I ain’t gon’ run from it, yeah
Keep it wet, all you gotta do is keep it one hunnid, yeah
Lay you down then I choke on it, ’til my nose runnin’ (Yeah)
F*ck me on the bed, full of all hunnids (Yeah)
We get straight to it ’cause we both want it (Yeah)

Baby Keem Shuns People Trying To Ride His Wave On “No Sense”

After being named a 2020 XXL FreshmanBaby Keem seems set to have a huge breakout year in 2021. The West Coast rapper and producer has garnered widespread attention for his projects DIE FOR MY BITCH and The Sound of Bad Habits, and lately, fans have been clamoring for a new album from the pgLang artist. Luckily, the drought is over, as Baby Keem has officially shared his first single of the year, which he started teasing on his Instagram a couple of weeks ago.

Co-produced by Baby Keem and Jahaan Sweet (who’s known for working with artists such as Drake and Jay-Z), “no sense” is a mellow, slow-burning single that finds Baby Keem exploring the fake energy and nonsense around him, from immature relationships to people trying to ride his wave of success. The pensive track is pulled from Keem’s highly anticipated upcoming album, and it gives fans a broadened taste of the pgLang artist’s ever-developing sound.

Does “no sense” have you excited for a new full-length from Baby Keem?

Quotable Lyrics

Are you mad at me? Are you irritated?
I let you duck me, then you celebrated
Are you showin’ off because you with your friends, dawg?
Don’t be showin’ out when you with your friends, dawg
Makes no sense, no, no, no
These n*ggas tryna ride the wave, ride the wave, yeah

Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats Link With Benny The Butcher For “Diet 1.5”

While not quite a new Denzel Curry album, nor a new Kenny Beats album for that matter, the recently released Unlocked 1.5 remains a welcome holdover all the same. Featuring a more-or-less complete musical overhaul of the 2020 collaborative project, one lined with notable guest appearances from the duo’s collective contact list, it’s no surprise that some of the reimagined cuts standing out as arguable improvements. And naturally, when Benny The Butcher steps into the booth, such things should be expected.

Though some of the tracks opted for a production facelift, the simple banger that is “Diet” needed no alteration. Over a style of instrumental he seldom tackles, The Butcher showcases his versatility as he lets fly the bars we’ve come to expect. “All these racks in the ceiling got rappers back in they feelings,” he spits. “Treat the game like Trump voters did the Capitol building / In a 600 Maybach, the only passenger in it, ain’t got no cash for the dealer if don’t no stashes come in it.”

Alas, no new bars from Denzel, so there’s no telling how hard he might have snapped when rapping alongside The Butcher. At least, not yet — now that the pair has broken the barrier of collaboration, perhaps we’ll see another one in due time. Check out “Diet 1.5,” as well as the album from whence it came, right here.

Pop Smoke & Polo G Join Forces On “Fashion”

Pop Smoke is no longer with us, but his team has ensured that his legacy will be kept alive through the release of posthumous music. With today marking the arrival of the Boogie soundtrack, which features new music from Pop, Polo G, Sheff G, 10k Mula, Jacquees, and more, many were quick to check out “Fashion,” a duet between two of the game’s most acclaimed young talents. Though not Pop Smoke and Polo G’s first collab, having recently connected on “Woo Shit,” it’s a welcome continuation of chemistry that deserves further exploration.

Unsurprisingly, the instrumental is a hard-hitting Brooklyn drill banger, the likes of which Pop Smoke previously made a habit of attacking. Over warbling synthesizers and rapid-fire percussion, Pop Smoke sets a luxurious tone as he pursues the bag while decked in the finest attire. For the most part, his flow is on the methodical side, a contrast to how he usually approaches a beat. On the other hand, Polo G provides a welcome contrast with a high-intensity verse, his strong technical chops making him adept at tackling the drill sound when the occasion calls for it.

Check out “Fashion” now, and be sure to check out the complete Boogie soundtrack right here

And you know that I kept me a strap

Under the pillow, that’s where my little Wesson was at
