Siena Liggins Delivers A Sultry Pop Banger On “No Valet”

Siena Liggins has been making quite the name for herself over the last little while as the artist continues to build upon their sound and give fans something to be excited about. Liggins’ influences are mostly from the pop world and based on her output, it’s clear she is already one of the more unique pop artists out there. On April 27th, she will be dropping her debut album Ms. Out Tonight and one of the latest singles from the project is called “No Valet.”

In a statement, Liggins described this song as a “steamy, downtempo braggadocio disguised as a backseat car anthem for whatever happens after the after-party.” This is a pretty apt description for it as Liggins sings lustfully over a brooding instrumental, all while delivering some hedonistic lyrics that take pop sounds into an unfamiliar place. In a short amount of time, Liggins is able to showcase her succinct songwriting ability, and if you love pop music and want to hear something new, then this is definitely for you.

Quotable Lyrics:

Girl I can feel your eyes on me
Think you wanna leave but not alone
And I can keep you company
Can we get away just me and you so

Jennifer Hudson Covers A Classic With “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”

Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is a classic track that everyone should know by now. It brings back a lot of great memories for many, and recently, Jennifer Hudson got to give her own rendition of the song as part of Mastercard’s Strivers Initiative which helps to elevate businesses own and ran by black women. This new version of the song is produced by will.i.am and in a statement, Hudson revealed what doing this cover means to her.

“I am fortunate to have been influenced and inspired by so many incredible Black female role models as I’ve pursued my dreams, but that’s not always the case for all Black girls and women,” Hudson said.

Hudson’s vocals are as soulful as ever and it is one of those covers that does the original justice. If you’re a big fan of soul and r&b, this effort is a must-listen.

Quotable Lyrics:

If you need me, call me,
No matter where you are
No matter how far,
Don’t worry, baby
Just call my name, I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry

Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are two artists who’ve innovated the past for a refreshing dose of nostalgia. Rooted in soul and funk, it only made sense that the two artists would come together for a collaborative effort at some point. No one knew how soon but the results of the pairing on wax is nothing short of greatness.

While we received “Leave The Door Open” on Friday, the duo also slid in with a quick intro from their forthcoming project that gives us a better taste of what’s to come. With contributions from Bootsy Collins, it runs for a bit over but the funky and soulful energy they bring is something we look forward to hearing more of in the future.

Giggs Assists Ray Blk On “Games”

RAY BLK has kept fans waiting nearly three years now for the follow-up to 2018’s Empress. The critically acclaimed project further propelled her star status across the globe but she’s been keeping things moving with the release of several solid singles. In 2019, she teamed up with Chip for “Action” and dropped off “Lovesick” as well as its remixes with Ivorian Doll, Madara Beatz, and MJ Cole. Fans are anticipating her next move and what she’s getting up to next.

This week, she slid through with her first offering of the year with some assistance from Giggs on “Games.” Even though the drill influence is evident in its production, Giggs and Ray BLK turn it into an infectious banger.

Lil Durk & Slimelife Shawty Stay Solid On “Dying 2 Hit’em”

It’s been a long run for Lil Durk whose debut mixtape I’m A Hitta hits its 10-year anniversary this coming summer. Fans have stood by his side during the highs and lows of his career and he made it out on top. The Voice cemented that and its deluxe edition boosted its numbers to maintain a steady spot in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 over the past few weeks.

On Friday, the rapper continued his hot streak by opening the doors up a little bit more for OTF. Loyal Bros, the new compilation tape, includes collaborations among the crew, including a few posthumous appearances from Von. Durk also unleashes a few solo cuts as well as collaborations including “Dying 2 Hit’em” with Atlanta up-and-comer Slimelife Shawty. The grim guitar loop and rattling drums become emboldened by Durk and Slimelife’s aggressive delivery.

Pop Smoke Joins M24 On “No Cap (Remix)” For “Boogie” Soundtrack

The late Pop Smoke unfortunately isn’t here to witness the impact he had across the globe but it’s certainly still heard. Last year’s Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon became one of the most successful projects of the year and Steven Victor recently stated that there’s even more music in the cut.

On Friday, the soundtrack to Boogie was released including a few unreleased cuts from Pop including “Fashion” ft. Polo G and “AP.” The soundtrack also includes Pop Smoke’s official remix of UK rapper M24’s “No Cap.” Quincy “tell em” holds down the production on the track with Pop Smoke sliding through with an additional verse to M24’s record. The song was rumored to initially be included on M24’s Drip And Drill. Though fans have had to wait for it, it’s well worth it.

Check out the record below and check out the rest of the Boogie soundtrack here.

Boslen & Tyla Yaweh Wear Their Hearts On Their Sleeves On “DENY”

Vancouver artist Boslen has been making a name for himself as of late thanks to some smooth r&b inspired tracks that provide some of those dope vibes that are made for riding around in your car during the summer. With his latest effort “DENY,” that’s exactly what Boslen gives us except for this time around, he receives some help from up-and-comer Tyla Yaweh.

With this new song, Boslen speaks on a relationship that recently ended in which it seemed like the two were having a good time. In the end, however, the girl moved on without a care, and it’s clear that Boslen has some stuff to work out as a result. Tyla Yaweh helps back up Boslen’s sentiments and overall, it makes for a nice collaboration that will help build up the latter’s fanbase.

Quotable Lyrics:

I just want it all, but I got too much on my mind
Thought I left it back at home but it just follows through the night
I could have gave you the world, book us up and catch a flight
Took you out to Saint Laurent and buy whatever’s in your size

Gucci Mane’s Artist K Shiday Fires Shots At Asian Doll On “Back In Blood” Freestyle

Every few months, there’s one beat that’s so undeniable that the rest of the rap game can’t help but jump on it and offer their own renditions of it. Pooh Shiesty’s “Back In Blood” is currently that song but it still hasn’t ruined the original (hopefully). It’s slowly turning into a beat that many are using to air out their grievances towards their opps, be it in the streets or in the music industry.

1017’s K Shiday is the latest to tackle the beat but this time around, she had a few words for an artist that was formerly part of the 1017 roster: Asian Doll. Shiday’s latest offering doesn’t mention any specific names but Asian Doll seemingly fits the description of the barrage of bars Shiday lets off. The 1017 artist later took to Instagram to confirm that it was Asian that she’s speaking to.

It’s unclear where the rift between the two began but one might think it would have something to do with Asian Doll rapping, “If it weren’t for Asian Doll, then none of you hoes won’t have no chains,” on her own “Back In Blood” remix. “On a Shiesty beat, you trying to be 1017 so bad,” Shiday fires back on the record.

Peep the song below.

Quotable Lyrics
Bitches fallin’ out for likes
Don’t play with dogs, I play with TECs
Bitch you made they took that chain from you
I got it ’round my neck
Real bare face with the 150
Make a bitch sick off emojis
Can’t no money fix that body, bitch
You still shaped a lil’ funny
