Skepta & Rema Connect With JAE5 On “Dimension”

JAE5 has played an integral role in the Afroswing sound in the UK. He’s produced records like Dave’s “Location” ft. Burna Boy, as well as NSG & Tion Wayne’s “Options,” among many other songs but, like many producers these days, he is getting ready to step into the limelight. This week, he unveiled a massive new record alongside Skepta and Rema titled, “Dimension.” It’s a slow-burning record that finds Rema on the hook and Skepta reflecting on his roots.

“For my first single, I wanted to pull off something that represented me well,” JAE5 said in a statement. “It had to be heavily influenced by Afrobeats and the UK urban scene. Skepta and Rema are the perfect combination. ‘Dimension’ is a meaningful track with a vibe! Skepta, as always, delivers the maddest verse and Rema on the hook—that guy just isn’t normal! I hope everyone enjoys the track.”

PTSD will leave permanent scars
Can’t lie, man, I ain’t the same brother that I once was

Benny The Butcher & Harry Fraud Keep Solid On “Live By It”

Benny The Bucher emerged as the underdog watching the Griselda empire get built from the ground up alongside Conway and Westside Gunn but these days, he’s standing on his own two as one of the hardest MCs out. The rapper’s string in the last 8 months alone included the introduction of the B$F crew with a Gangsta Grillz tape, his second studio album Burden Of Proof, and now, the second installment in the Plugs I Met series with Harry Fraud.

Though packed with features, the best moments come when Benny and Harry are bouncing their chemistry off of each other. “Live By It” comes mid-way through the tracklist, following collabs with Chinx and 2 Chainz but it’s arguably the most sobering moment throughout the project. Harry Fraud’s cinematic production plays out as Benny describes the power and paranoia of carrying firearms with context to the Texas shooting.

Check out the record below. What’s your favorite record off of Plugs I Met 2?

For a minute, robbery was my new profession
Pop up at your crib, dressed like UPS men
Show me where the money at or get your neck slit
And we don’t even count it, onto the next lick

Justin Bieber Croons His Way Through “As I Am” Ft. Khalid

There aren’t many features on Justin Bieber’s Justice, but fans are loving his pop-ballad with fellow award-winning singer Khalid. The two artists joined forces on “As I Am,” a track where we find Bieber once again coming to terms with the mistakes of his past and reconciling that with who he is now. The singer has stressed the importance of Justice and expressed that the message the project carries goes beyond music.

“I love this song because it has a really hopeful message,” Bieber told Vogue. “A lot of us, including me at times, have felt unworthy of love and so [the hook] is saying, ‘Take me as I am and I’ll do the best that I can.’ It’s that commitment that I personally made to my wife. I’m here through thick and thin—this is me, take it or leave it.” Stream “As I Am” and let us know your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

By myself sometimes, to give my mind some space
Yeah, I know, yeah, I know that it hurts when I push your love away
I hate myself
I wanna tell you lies, so your heart won’t break
Yeah, I know, yeah, I know that I made my fair share of mistakes

Tokyo Jetz Taps Jackboy For “Cancel Culture” Track “YAK”

It’s a time of celebration for Tokyo Jetz and her Grand Hustle Camp. On Friday (March 19), the rapper released her latest album Cancel Culture, a name that seems to respond to her previous controversy that landed her in trouble with the public last year. After apologizing and moving forward, Tokyo hit the studio hard as she penned the 14 tracks that landed on the album including the Jackboy-assisted song “YAK.”

T.I. may have a bit of “cancel culture” on his heels at the moment, but he took a minute to express how proud he is of Tokyo Jetz completing and releasing her album. “Maaaaan my lil sis ain’t Buuull$**ttin’ wit y’all this year!!!” the Grand Hustle CEO wrote on Instagram. “Truly am Proud of you Lil sis…. you went there a lot and came a looong way to get where you are. Goes to show… Every storm runs out of rain. You stayed solid & endured. You deserve it ALL‼️”

Stream Tokyo Jetz’s “YAK” featuring Jackboy and let us know what you think.

J Balvin Drops Off New Single “Tu Veneno”

Colombian artist J Balvin, who has proven himself worthy of the superstar moniker with a grand total of fifty-three gold and platinum plaques, has officially delivered a brand new single called “Tu Veneno.” Produced by the tandem of Sky Rompiendo and Taiko, the melodic track once again Balvin’s versatility as he takes to the methodical beat with an introspective tone. Even those who aren’t fluent in Spanish will likely discern much from Balvin’s emotive performance.

Alongside “Ma G,” which a few weeks ago at the end of February, “Tu Veneno” is set to appear on Balvin’s upcoming project, about which he has revealed next to nothing. Still, considering the pace with which he’s firing off new music, don’t be surprised to see a proper announcement land in the imminent future. Last we heard a full album from Balvin, he was dropping off Colores back in March of 2020. Sonically, “Ma G” and “Tu Veneno” speak to a different tone altogether, and it should be exciting to see what he brings to the table next.

Check out the latest from J Balvin now, and sound off if you’re down with the Colombian megastar.

Popp Hunna Tries To Recreate His Viral Success On “Designa (Corvette Corvette Pt. 2)”

Popp Hunna is feeling the pressure to recreate his viral success from “Adderall (Corvette Corvette)”. His latest single is the continuation of the hit record, which sees him recycling some of his favorite flows from the song, rapping about his love interest’s status as a designer fiend.

“Designa (Corvette Corvette Pt. 2)” is officially out now from viral sensation Popp Hunna. The single was coupled with an accompanying music video, which sees the young artist roaming through the neighborhood with a mob of kids. His lyrical content hasn’t changed much since his breakout single, but since this record lives in the same realm as “Adderall”, it’s likely that people will rock with it on social media.

What do you think of Popp Hunna’s new song?

Foogiano Narrarates Life On The Run In New Song “Free Foo”

Over the past handful of years, Hip-Hop fans have witnessed rappers fleeing from the law and finding creative ways to capitalize on their time on the run. An artist most notoriously associated with doing the dash is 20-year-old rapper Tay-K, who’s viral hit “The Race” was used in court against him in order to slam the rising artist with a 55-year prison sentence. Recently, one of Gucci Mane’s most promising artists decided to do the race as well, as it was reported that Foogiano had burned off his ankle bracelet and fled from the law. Last week, news surfaced that Foogiano had been arrested after a few months on the run, and today, the rapper has dropped a song and music video combo similar to that of Tay-K’s.

“Free Foo” is a new track from Foogiano that finds the 1017 Records artist boasting about being “on the run again.” The music video offers a more comical take on the rapper’s recent legal troubles, as the visuals depict Foogiano checking his calendar to see if he’s free to go to jail, playing an impromptu game of tag with police officers in front of his house, and running past additional police on a track field.

The song and video combined make for an entertaining new offering from Foogiano, so hopefully his legal troubles will be taken care of so he can keep treating fans to new music.

Quotable Lyrics

Well, I guess I’m on the run again
I ain’t wanna do it, but I told them cr*ckers, “Gotta catch me if you can”
I just gave em fifty-thousand cash, now they tryna take me again
But I ain’t goin to the pen (Hell nah), b*tch I’m going for the win

Taylor Gang’s Fedd The God Flips Black Rob Classic On “42”

Taylor Gang’s own Fedd The God has come through with a new single, looking to a past classic and flipping Black Rob’s classic “Woah.” Over a modern interpretation of Buckwild’s iconic instrumental, Fedd The God revisits the original flow for the track’s chorus before sliding into the verse. “Shake your ass on my dawg, do your shit like a pro / little red dress trying to teach me her stroll,” he spits, making his intentions abundantly clear.

“Henny in my system, bout to lead the crowd on go, did I fuck his bitch? I told him I don’t even know,” he raps, kicking off his second verse. “It might have been me, but she was fucking with my bro / and why you acting hostile, little boy you gotta go.” Making sure to rep the Khalifa Kush while acknowledging its potency, Fedd The God seems to thrive while inebriated — at the very least, such is the blurry picture “42” ultimately paints. Check it out for yourself now, and sound off if you still keep Black Rob’s “Woah” in steady rotation to this day.

DDG & NBA YoungBoy Trust No One On ‘Die 4 Respect’ Album Opener “Hood Melody”

Although many Hip-Hop fans probably wouldn’t have seen the team-up coming a year ago, DDG and OG Parker have become one of the most dynamic duos in rap as of late. Last month, the two artists announced that they would be unleashing a joint project and dropped off “Money Long”  with 42 Dugg to give fans an idea of what their collaboration would sound like. Yesterday, the full album (titled Die 4 Respect) officially landed on streaming services, and it came stacked with features from Lil Yachty, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Coi Leray, PnB Rock, Tyla Yaweh, 2KBABY, 42 Dugg, and BlueFace.

Early reception of the Die 4 Respect has been positive, reflecting the impressive quality of DDG and OG Parker’s collab album, and one song from the project, in particular, has left a strong impression: “Hood Melody,” featuring NBA YoungBoy. The track serves as the opener for Die 4 Respect, and it situates DDG and NBA YoungBoy over a slow-burning and melancholic piano-driven beat. Both artists touch on the pain that they have experienced and express their general distrust in everyone, from random people passing by to women that they’re romantically involved with.

If you haven’t checked out DDG & OG Parker’s collab album Die 4 Respect, don’t sleep. Check out “Hood Melody” with NBA YoungBoy as well as the rest of the project here.

Jackboy & Russ Re-Up On “Own My Masters”

If you’re releasing a song called “Own My Masters”, it would be a foolish move to not reach out to Russ to guest-star on the track. The poster child for doing everything himself, remaining independent, and owning all of his masters, Russ has preached to up-and-coming artists to keep ownership of their music for years. When Florida rapper Jackboy released his single “Own My Masters” as part of his 2020 album Love Me While I’m Here, Russ must have heard the track and wanted to lay down some of his sauce, prompting the official re-release of the cut this week.

Jackboy has come through once again, continuing to release a quality stream of new music. “Own My Masters” now includes a verse from Russ, marking an unexpected collaboration but a great one nonetheless. Jackboy keeps his stellar hook and verse on the song before Russ brings a different flow to the second verse.

If you loved the first version, wait until you hear this one. Check it out below.

Quotable Lyrics:

These rappers hardly go
I feed my dreams and I starve these hoes
I ain’t sorry, though
Workers hatin’ on the boss, I don’t f*ck with y’all either
Say it’s lonely at the top, went and bought a two-seater
I might say what Prince told Nas, I ain’t trying to do features if you don’t own your masters
