YNW Melly Childishly Taunts His Opps On “Na Na Na Boo Boo”

As YNW Melly’s legal struggle continue, the Hip-Hop community is waiting with bated breath and see whether the talented Florida rapper will make it out of prison as a free man or do serious jail time for allegedly killing his two close associates, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser. Compared to when other rappers who have faced major criminal charges and endured prison bids, #FreeMelly isn’t a call for freedom that all Hip-Hop fans can stand behind. Still, many will take new YNW Melly music whenever they can, so several fans are likely ecstatic that the Florida artist has returned with another single, mere weeks after his collaboration with Kodak Black.

In “Na Na Na Boo Boo,” YNW Melly channels his inner kid by repeatedly using the childish playground taunt that the rapper named his song after. In between a bevy of whiny “Na Na Na Boo Boo”-s, Melly actually delivers pretty vicious bars, as he talks about having sex with his enemy’s girlfriends and killing his opposition if necessary. At three-minutes long, the Florida artist’s new release is admittedly a bit unorthodox, but it definitely reflects Melly’s childlike creativity.

Check out YNW Melly’s quirky new single “Na Na Na Boo Boo” below.

Drakeo The Ruler Sets Himself Apart From The Rest On “Out On Bail Freestyle”

Last month, Drakeo the Ruler dropped off The Truth Hurts, his second full-length project since being released from prison, and the California artist’s highly anticipated album boasted the massive Drake-assisted collaboration “Talk To Me.” In the wake of his recent wave of success, Drakeo has understandably been feeling himself, and he recently even deemed himself the best rapper alive from California.

Now, after a rumored XXL Freshman list leaked early, Drakeo the Ruler has stepped up to the bat to prove why he is currently one of the best California rappers and rising artists, period. Thus, he returns today, roughly a month since the release of The Truth Hurts, with the menacing “Out On Bail Freestyle.”

Throughout the freestyle, Drakeo actively sets himself apart from his competition, citing his independence, street credibility, and popularity as reasons why he’s nothing like his contemporaries. Utilizing a voracious whispery flow, the rapper tackles some infectious West Coast production, further cementing his ranks in the current hierarchy of California artists. Drakeo closes the two-minute freestyle with a sly shot at detractors, who he claims actually enjoy his music despite relentless criticisms.

Did Drakeo the Ruler kill his “Out On Bail” freestyle or was it a miss?

King Combs Brags About His Lady On Future-Assisted “Holdin Me Down”

It’s a big feature night for Future as he’s attached to two releases. Aside from making an appearance on Moneybagg Yo’s “Hard for the Next” single that was dedicated to the Memphis rapper’s girlfriend Ari Fletcher, Future also adds his talents to King Combs’s “Holdin Me Down.” The czzson of mega Rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been trying his hand as an artist for years as he attempts to step out of the wide shadow of his father. King Combs has collaborated with several chart-toppers and hopes that Future will help him win over hearts with his latest.

“Holdin Me Down” is yet another track that seems to be dedicated to that special someone in King Combs’s life—his longtime girlfriend, Breah Hicks. The young couple has been together for years and by the sound of Comb’s new single, they’ve weathered some storms. Stream “Holdin Me Down and let us know if King Combs and Future have a hit on their hands.

Russ Laments Over The Loss Of Love On “Bankrupt”

Days after announcing that his Shake The Snow Globe Tour was back on track for 2022, Russ drops off his single, “Bankrupt.” The independent artist regularly shares new music with his fans at will, so receiving this Russ release doesn’t come as a surprise to his dedicated fanbase. The rapper-singer is also known for pouring his heart out on his tracks, and on “Bankrupt,” you’ll find Russ lamenting over the loss of a relationship as he dives deeper into his vices to cope.

“Bankrupt” is drastically different from the braggart bars on Russ’s “Ugly” collaboration with Lil Baby earlier this year, but it’s not uncommon for him to switch things up for fans. Stream the lovelorn “Bankrupt” and let us know what you think of the single that Russ calls his “favorite.”

Quotable Lyrics

It’s only been a week long, still hard to speak on
Burden on my soul took a toll, had to lift it

It’s time to move on, I stayed too long

Coi Leray & Pooh Shiesty Unite On “Big Purr”

She’s been purring her way through her songs for a while and after much hype surrounding this latest single, Coi Leray finally drops off her “Big Purr” single featuring Pooh Shiesty. Leray has been making waves but it was her last release, “No More Parties,” that found her new success, especially after she added Lil Durk to the remix. This time around, Leray takes her signature sound and makes it a song with the help of Gucci Mane’s artist.

Recently, Leray was embroiled in a bit of tension with social media influencer Rolling Ray. He, too, is known for saying “purr” and he targeted the rapper with claims that she took his phrase and made it into a song. After a brief back and forth, Leray denied his accusations and shared that she’s only focusing on things that will help her elevate, much like her previous lyrics have suggested.

Lil Nas X Drops Anticipated Pop Single “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”

After breaking several records with “Old Town Road,” Lil Nas X has been feeling the pressure for his future projects to match that success. The rapper went from unknown to being one of the most recognized artists in the world, and on Friday (March 26), he adds another single to his growing catalog. On “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name),” you’ll find Lil Nas X occupying the Pop lane as he sings his way through the track, and along with the song comes a trippy, futuristic visual where you’ll find him making out with an alien version of himself.

“MONTERO” is a single that Lil Nas X has kept in the vault for the perfect time. Yesterday, he took to Twitter to share that he “waited 9 months to drop” the track “because it’s my baby.” The singer added that with the release of this latest single, “We will begin a new era! see u guys there.” Stream Lil Nas X’s “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and let us know what you think about the track and its visual.

Moneybagg Yo & Future Unite On Smooth Banger “Hard For The Next”

He’s been feeling himself a little bit more ever since Pharrell Williams called him his favorite rapper, and Moneybagg Yo is hoping to continue that praise with his latest single “Hard for the Next.” We previously reported on the news that the Memphis rapper had linked with Future for a smooth new single, and right on time at the top of Friday (March 26), it arrived along with a music video.

The visual stars Ari Fletcher, Moneybagg’s leading lady in real life. The pair have often flaunted their love—and disagreements—for the world to see, but regardless of their criticisms, the pair have made it through. “Hard for the Next” lists all the ways that he’s stepping up to the plate and making things more difficult for the next man who may come his woman’s way, but if things go right, this will be a lifelong love.

Stream “Hard for the Next” (that gives a slight nod to Ginuwine’s classic hit “Differences”) by Moneybagg Yo featuring Future and let us know what you think.

iann diorr Is Sprung On Glass Animals’ New Version Of “Heat Waves”

United Kingdom band Glass Animals has been enjoying the success of their third studio album Dreamland following its release last summer. The full-length was anchored by the acclaim of its single “Heat Waves,” which preceded the album by a couple of months and quickly became a hit amongst Glass Animals’ tight-knit fan base. Since its release, “Heat Waves” has transcended beyond the group’s core listeners and became a global sensation, and it currently holds the number one spot on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart. Now, to help keep its momentum going, Glass Animals has released an updated version of “Heat Waves” that features Billboard chart-topping newcomer ian diorr.

Considering the success of iann dior and 24kGoldn’s “Mood,” the new rendition of “Heat Waves” should definitely get the push that Glass Animals is looking for. Plus, it helps that iann dior’s contribution — a quick verse that finds the Puerto-Rican born singer admitting to being sprung over a lover who seems incapable of showing up for him — is just as infectious as the vibe that the UK band’s runaway success is celebrated for.

How are you feeling this unexpected Glass Animals and iann dior collaboration?

Quotable Lyrics

I’ve been waiting on you just to get my hopes up
But we can never make it there
I can’t help but feeling scared
What’s it gonna take for you to finally show up?
Water in my eyes make it hard to see ’cause

Young Thug Assured Us That He’d Never Stop Dropping Heat On 2015’s “Digits”

From early 2015 to late 2016, Young Thug was on a roll with one of the most captivating runs in recent rap history, perhaps only comparable to Future’s legendary mixtape run from 2014 to 2015. During that two-year period, the eclectic YSL artist released four full-length projects and two EPs, most of which contained classic Thugger records. The Atlanta native had just been flung onto the national Hip-Hop stage, and he made his moment count, most notably dropping the paradigm-shifting Barter 6 as well the beloved Slime Season mixtape trilogy. The first Slime Season, which featured the rapper’s early hit “Best Friend,” arrived on September 16, 2015, and roughly a month later, Thug doubled up with Slime Season 2, which boasted tracks like “Thief in the Night” and “Pull Up on a Kid.” Fans of Thugger’s prolific output had to wait a bit longer for the final installment in the Slime Season trilogy, however, as Slime Season 3 didn’t arrive until March 25, 2016.

Slime Season 3, in comparison to its two predecessors, was a much more concise effort from Young Thug, and it was also released as a commercial mixtape, whereas the first two were available for free. At the time, the decision was met with mixed feelings, but considering the hype surrounding Slime Season 3, it only made sense that Thug would want to financially profit from the release.

The project featured “With Them,” which was first teased at the live premiere of Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo, as well as the YSL possee cut “Slime Sh*t.” Yet, Slime Season 3 can’t be fully appreciated and remembered without discussing “Digits.” In addition to stirring a heated debate as to whether he said “horses” or “hustlers” in the opening line of the song, “Digits” has gone done as one of Young Thug’s most iconic records to date.

What was your favorite song from Slime Season 3?

Quotable Lyrics

Dopeboy, hair grey like a grandma
You know my ice blingin’, light up just like a candle
Rollie pollie, I can control shawty like a channel
My racks are squeakin’, I’m not fartin’
I hop in that ‘Rari, I crank up like Warren

Chiiild Encourages Listeners To Reclaim Their Agency On “Sleepwalking”

Yonatan ‘Yoni’ Aya, or more famously known as the genre-bending multihyphenate Chiiild, is back with his first single of 2021, a groovy, kaleidoscopic new track titled “Sleepwalking.” With his latest release, the Montreal-based vocalist, bassist, keyboardist, and songwriter urges listeners to reclaim their identity and individuality and go against the grain of trend and expectation.

“Sleepwalking” is built upon an infectious groove that subtly etches itself into your brain, and before you know it, you’re singing along to the repetitive refrain, “Darling, we’re sleepwalking.” Lyrically, Chiiild’s latest single isn’t the most robust or complex case of songwriting that you’ll hear this week, but, nonetheless, its simplistic lyrics expertly convey the Canadian artist’s yearning for agency. The meaning of the self-reflective song is explored further in the creative Daniel Regan-directed music video, which arrives in tandem with Chiiild’s latest release and aims to create a visually striking “future nostalgia.”

“Sleepwalking” is set to be housed on Chiiild’s recently announced album Hope For Sale, so stay tuned for music from Chiiild as the rollout for his highly anticipated debut continues.

Quotable Lyrics

How does it feel walking fast asleep, under the moonlight
Don’t know what’s real or what’s fantasy, under the moonlight
How does it feel walking fast asleep, undеr the sunlight
Open your eyеs, it’s okay to dream, under the sunlight
