Money Montage Connects With Rich Icy On “Different Freestyle”

Money Montage has been quite the effective force behind the boards, having previously laced tracks for the likes of YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Dave East, Lil Tjay, Kehlani, Jacquees, and Skepta. Suffice it to say, the man is versatile, and today he’s come through with the brand new “Different Freestyle.” Not only did he lace the beat alongside Mektro, but he also came through to hold it down with some bars, teaming up with Rich Icy for this new collaboration.

Setting it off with Montage, who sounds at ease catching pockets over his own musical handiwork. “Real n***as in the building, better keep your distance,” he warns, laid back as the pianos build. “I just killed my own shit, I don’t need no features n***a / got this nina on my hip, I don’t beef with n***as / and she be there every night like she got season tickets.” Rich Icy holds it down with the closing verse, bringing his own distinct swagger to the mix. “I got the juice, can’t be a broke boy what’s your excuse?” he wonders, switching up to a melodic flow. “My bitch nails is turquoise and my money blue.”

Kevin Gates Bodies Pooh Shiesty Banger On “Back In Blood Freestyle”

Pooh Shiesty and Lil Durk’s “Back In Blood” is proving to be quite the alluring instrumental, inviting emcees to step to YC’s ominous piano-driven production with their best efforts. Today, Kevin Gates has come through to oblige, committing to the track’s menacing vibe and letting fly some formidable lyricism. In fact, for those hoping to see Gates snapping with increased regularity, consider this a promising step in that direction.

As per usual, Gates brings a formidable presence to the mix, his commanding voice imbuing his bars with authority. That’s not to say he’s forsaken fun altogether; a playful section involving sex with one unfortunate cuckold’s wife finds him upping his cadence to an amusing degree. For the most part, however, Gates is focused and driven by the ominous keys, stringing together a tight flow scheme as he reflects on his voyage from rags to riches and the resulting benefits. “Before lobster it was cereal and window unit friends, bitch I’m mafia material, could never take the stand,” he raps. “This lil bopper she do miracles, now watch her move that ass.”

Taylor Gang’s Fedd The God & Wiz Khalifa Team Up For “Yea Yup”

Artist’s under Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang banner double as label mates and each other’s go-to collaborators. It’s no wonder the label’s latest signee Fedd the God enlisted the help of the boss himself for his latest single “Yea Yup.” The single arrives as the fourth single from his upcoming EP Speed Racer, set to arrive on April 9th.

On the track, the Pittsburgh rappers go back and forth about their luxurious lifestyles, earning money, their opps, and their relationships with the ladies. Speaking of the song’s conception, the 26-year-old said neither he nor Wiz had a concept in mind when they hit the studio to cut the track.

“He just wanted to see what I had, my skill set,” Fedd says, “so he put on a beat and he went, ‘Start a song, start a song up,’ and I just started freestylin’.” He added that the experience wasn’t nerve-wracking, but rather, ” it was like playing one-on-one basketball versus one of your favorite players. It was a moment you’re ready for.”

The video for the track is set to debut on Monday, April 5th. Until then, give “Yea Yup” a listen and let us know how you’re feeling about the track down below.

This time, we’re looking at a collaboration between Mo3 and Foogiano, the brief but impactful “Mob.”

This FN on me.”

Lil Gnar & Lil Skies Connect For “Not The Same”

At this point, it’s fair to say that Lil will remain the most popular prefix in hip-hop history. And every so often, the stars align as two Lils come together on a single track, as Lil Gnar and Lil Skies did today. The song in question is “Not The Same,” a new single that finds both melodically-inclined rappers taking to a bouncy guitar-driven instrumental. Though it’s not entirely original territory, Gnar and Skies are practiced enough to shine, with the former setting a tone in his opening verse.

“YSL denim, gon’ spin on a mission, free all my ni**as that’s locked in that system,” he raps, his voice steeped in autotune. “Fucking that bitch, I ain’t never gon’ kiss her.” Skies picks up where he left off, distancing himself of emotional on the tireless pursuit for the bag. “She wanna go out on a date, I don’t do no dating,” he raps, his flow picking up steam. “European drip to the floor, money make lil’ shorty touch her toes / All this money barely fit a roll, all this money make her take her clothes off.”

Be sure to check out “Not The Same” now, and sound off in the comments if you’re enjoying this direction from Lil Gnar.

Chiiild Teams Up With Mahalia On The Lush New Single “Awake”

Last week, Montreal-based vocalist, bassist, keyboardist, and songwriter Chiiild announced his forthcoming debut album Hope For Sale. To coincide with the announcement, the Canadian multihyphenate also dropped the vivid, kaleidoscopic track “Sleepwalking,” the first single from his upcoming record. The self-reflective track about reclaiming one’s agency and individuality really whet listeners’ voracious appetite for Hope For Sale, and now Chiiild is following up the impressive single with a new song, titled “Awake.”

Chiiild’s latest single is a globe-spanning track that features Jamaican-British singer-songwriter Mahalia, marking the first official collaboration between the two artists. The enchanting song finds both singers waxing poetic about wanting to get their significant other into the bedroom for — well, you know. About halfway through the track, “Awake” unfolds and expands into a gorgeous string-accentuated soundscape, adding to its already lush sonic aesthetic, and although Chiiild’s latest single clocks in at just under a four-minute runtime, its infectious groove will definitely have you starting the song over again and again.

Check out Chiiild and Mahalia’s collaboration below.

Pi’erre Bourne Premieres His Enchanting New Single “4U”

Pi’erre Bourne has rightfully earned the distinction as one of the hottest producers in the game since breaking into the mainstream. His memorable The Jamie Foxx Show sampled producer tag “Yo Pierre, you wanna come out here,” and knack for pairing airy flute melodies with traditional rap beats have both helped him leave a solid mark in modern rap. A double threat, the 27-year-old also gets behind the mic sometimes, reminding folks just what he’s made of on his latest release “4U.”

The self-produced sultry new single from the rapper-producer features him at his silkiest. Rhyming about a lady lover, Bourne skates over the wind instrument-littered trap beat in his signature style.

His last full-length album was 2019’s The Life of Pi’erre 4, which arrived shortly after his Young Nudy collaborative project Sli’merre.

Alongside the song, the visual for “4U” is set to debut today at 1 p.m. on his official Youtube channel. As usual, check out the track below and let us know what you think down in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics

Said she been real, only she need somethin’ to twerk on

Bankroll Freddie Recruits Megan The Stallion For “Pop It”

Bankroll Freddie finally released his highly-anticipated project Big Bank Friday (April 2). Complete with features from established game emcees like 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Young Scooter, EST Gee, PnB Rock, and more, it’s clear the Arkansas native had all the intention to make a name for himself with the brand new project. Before the release of the project, he dropped off the first single “Add It Up” back in January. For the next single “Pop It,” the rapper recruited none other than the Houston Hottie herself.

Both Freddie and Megan have been teasing the single alongside the forthcoming videos with fans on social media. “Young n*gga turnt, ima pop it. Ayee [Megan thee Stallion] ion think they ready…This Friday 4/2 #PopIt,” he penned in the caption of a post previewing the to-be-released visual.

The high-energy cut from the project is sure to fill the rooms of clubs all throughout the country this summer–if all goes well with lifting lockdown restrictions, of course. Check out “Pop It” below and let us know how you’re feeling about it in the comments!

Kenny Mason Is Unapologetic On The Rap-Focused New Single “Rih”

A week after dropping the rock-rap track “Play Ball,” the rollout for Kenny Mason’s long-awaited project Supercut continues. Last month, the Atlanta artist had teased that the album would arrive in April, but to kick the month off, Kenny Mason has instead opted to drop another single. His latest effort is titled “Rih,” and its hook draws inspiration from none other than Rihanna.

In contrast to the singles that he’s been dropping over the past two months, “Rih” is a traditional rap offering from the Atlanta artist that features him dropping bars over quivering production for over two minutes straight. Lyrically, it’s so far Kenny Mason’s most impressive single of 2021, with nods to Rihanna’s classic albums Rated R and Unapologetic as well as shout-outs to the wealth of Atlanta artists that have inspired him, such as Gucci Mane, Young Thug, and Bankroll Fresh.

Check out Kenny Mason’s latest single from the forthcoming Supercut below. How do you think it stacks up against “Partments,” “Pup,” and “Play Ball.”

Lil Tjay Enlists Offset & Moneybagg Yo For “Run It Up”

Lil Tjay’s Destined 2 Win album has officially landed, featuring guest appearances from 6LACK, Polo G, Fivio Foreign, Saweetie, Tyga, Toosii, Offset, and Moneybagg Yo — the latter two combining for the posse cut banger “Run It Up.” Over a melancholic piano loop and some up-tempo percussion from Josh Petruccio, Tjay sets it off and proves why he’s one of the game’s standout newcomers. “I keep a Drac’, ain’t no OVO, I ain’t for nothing, just check my portfolio,” he raps, showcasing an impressive flow. “Really come from a block where they bang, bang / Bustin’ that Glock, oh, this Glock ain’t no goalie, bro.”

Following Tjay is Offset, who warms up for Culture 3 with his own dexterous verse. “Make my bitch get your bitch, come and fuck on us,” he raps. “Make a hit with that switch, now my opps are dust / Put my racks in a wad, I was growin’ rust.” With his own upcoming album on the way, Moneybagg Yo is tasked with closing the cut, his formidable presence a welcome addition. “You ain’t gangster, you went, took the smooth route,” he spits, how flow more methodical than his collaborators. “Ran it up, now my pockets look too stout / Never enough, man, I gotta go get some more / Sold enough gas to go buy me a Texaco.”
