SOS LO Enlists Trippie Redd & Chris King For New Single “Honorable Flex”

Clemson, South Carolina rapper SOS LO is a newcomer on the rising Hip-Hop scene, but with collaborations alongside exciting artists such as Steezy Reezy, Glokkstar, and ZillaKami already under his belt, SOS LO is steadily learning the ropes of the rap game. Now, the artist is back with his first single of the year, which boasts major features from frequent collaborators Trippie Redd and Chris King.

Titled “Honorable Flex,” SOS LO’s new song finds him exchanging slick, fast-paced verses with Chris King while Trippie Redd takes care of the hook. Chris King’s wordplay is as sharp as ever, but SOS LO makes a decent effort to keep up with his featured artist’s gab. Trippie Redd‘s chorus is a full-out flex, as he delivers a garbled refrain about his impressive watch collection, but according to the Pegasus artist, he’s just referencing an “honorable flex.”

The unexpected collaboration is a bit peculiar, but it does have a lot of redeeming qualities, from Chris King’s rapid-paced lyricism to Trippie Redd’s catchy melody. Check out SOS LO, Trippie Redd, and Chris King’s “Honorable Flex” below and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

Diamonds hittin’ like it took a drop of LSD
Keep the handheld with games like a PSP
Too high sometimes I forget my beat
When I’m skippin’ down the block don’t forget my heat

BROCKHAMPTON Taps A$AP Rocky & A$AP Ferg On “Bankroll”

BROCKHAMPTON has officially returned with ROADRUNNER: NEW LIGHT, NEW MACHINEtheir first album since 2019’s Ginger. And while the project is looking like a strong early outing from the sprawling collective, it’s hard not to immediately gravitate toward “BANKROLL,” a collaboration with A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg.

Off the bat, it’s clear that “BANKROLL” will be an energetic affair. Ferg sets it off over the smooth up-tempo banger, his animated cadence as dynamic as his delivery is explosive. Alas, Rocky opts not to provide a verse, reserving his presence for the pre-chorus; whether simple presence is enough is up to you. Merlyn Woods steps in next, matching Ferg’s pace with a concisely rendered verse before Jabari Manwa closes things out with a melodic parting statement.

Check out the track now, and should you like what you hear be sure to check out BROCKHAMPTON’s brand new album ROADRUNNER: NEW LIGHT, NEW MACHINE and sound off below.

$NOT & Lil Skies Take A Joyride In Cole Bennett-Directed “Whipski” Video

If you know, you know. $NOT has been buzzing hard for the last few years, becoming a viral underground sensation and recruiting fans to join his growing base. The 23-year-old rapper worked extensively with prolific videographer Cole Bennett last year on two music videos, dropping them back-to-back and earning lots of praise in the process. With his hoodie tied tightly over his face, the Florida-based rapper has become one of the rappers to watch for this year.

For weeks, he’s been hyping up the release of his next video “Whipski” with Lil Skies, which he worked on with Cole Bennett again. The video is finally out and it’s every bit as entertaining as you would have expected.

$NOT and Skies start off the video as auto repair shop employees before they attack their boss and take a van for a joyride. The whip breaks down though and their manager ends up catching up to them but there’s a problem– he’s wielding a flamethrower. The man burns their car before getting struck by a passing vehicle. A UFO then flies by before two alien girls offer them a ride. We’ll let you find out how it ends.

Check out the new video for $NOT and Lil Skies’s new song “Whipski” below.

How can I recover? I’ma have to suffer
F*ck that, grab the gat, I’m a gunner

Miguel Conceals His True Feelings On “So I Lie”

Earlier today, Miguel surprised fans by unleashing a near-decade follow-up to his 2012 Art Dealer Chic EP series: Art Dealer Chic 4. The release of his new EP marks the RCA artist’s first project since his 2017 album War & Leisure, and it features four songs, including the previously heard 2019 single “Funeral.”

“So I Lie” is the closing track to Miguel’s latest EP, and it finds the singer-songwriter exploring the way in which popular culture and social media thrives off fun, hilarious moments but also other people’s pain. In the song’s chorus, Miguel sums it up quite eloquently, saying, “Laugh and the world will laugh, too/ Cry and the world laughs at you.”

“So I Lie” also arrives alongside wavy new visuals. The video starts with Miguel revealing that he’s been dreaming about dead frogs, which according to him signifies “the end of a cycle.” He then hops on a motorcycle and rides out as “So I Lie” starts playing. Trippy edits accentuate gorgeous shots of Miguel on a beach, and a bulk of the visuals are actually presented in a square, Instagram-like ratio.

Check out the stunning music video for Miguel’s new song “So I Lie” below.

Quotable Lyrics

I can barely breathe treading water
Smile on my face while I’m turning blue
Nobody cares, just work harder
I do what I can to avoid the truth

Westside Gunn Joins Peter Rosenberg’s Album For “Stain”

When it comes to hip-hop dynasties, many conversations on the topic tend to look to examine the past. Yet one in particular has managed to establish greatness in this modern era — Westside Gunn’s Griselda Records, a Buffalo-bred movement that has almost single-handled returned golden-era lyricism to the mainstream. With his upcoming album Sincerely Adolf on the way, Gunn has joined forces with Peter Rosenberg, who is currently in the midst of unveiling his own A&R’d compilation album Real Late.

On the same day that his brother Conway The Machine delivered a new single of his own in “Blood Roses,” Gunn and Rosenberg dropped off “Stain,” a grimy cut produced by Bvlvm and JR Swift. By now, it’s already clear that Westside Gunn’s “Ayo” signals an epic stream of violent and vivid lyricism. The only thing capable of bringing him to a stop is the innate desire to let fly a spirited cry of BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. The more BOOMS, the harder the bars feel like a fair rule of thumb.

“The baddest bitch I ever fucked, I forgot her name,” he raps. “Shoot your block solo, it’s not a game / I’m talkin’ blood everywhere, all type of brains / I’m sayin’ stain on stain on top of stain.” So far, Rosenberg’s Real Late is shaping up to be a gem, and we look forward to its complete release. What do you make of Westside Gunn’s “Stain?”

Polo G Is Living Life Like A “RAPSTAR”

One of Chicago’s finest rap talents, Polo G continues his prolific run with the release of his new single and music video “RAPSTAR”.

The 22-year-old rapper is pushing toward superstardom, gaining a lot of respect over the years with his full-length efforts THE GOAT and Die A Legend. Since releasing “Pop Out” with Lil Tjay, the two then-buzzing stars have grown substantially with Polo taking a more lyrical approach to his art. Priding himself on never delivering a weak verse, Capalot has been switching up his delivery ever-so-slightly during this current era, pushing for a more aggressive sound in previous single releases. With “RAPSTAR”, he’s back to the same style we know and love him for.

The ukelele-based trap beat was produced by Einer Bankz and Synco, with Polo rapping about his success as a wealthy young artist in the chorus.

This track is a highlight from Polo’s recently-released material, and it’s expected to appear on the rapper’s upcoming album Hall Of Fame. Stay tuned for more new music from Polo G.

Quotable Lyrics:

They say I’m Pac rebirthed, never put out a weak verse
Homicides when we lurk, I’ma step ’til my feet hurt
Weren’t puttin’ them streets first
White tees turned burgundy t-shirts
Lookin’ for somethin’ real, he stuck in a deep search
Anxiety killin’ me, I just want to leave Earth
When they ask if I’m okay, it just make everything seem worse

Conway Sets Fire To “Blood Roses” Ft. Jae Skeese

One of the hardest working emcees in the business is Conway The Machine and like clockwork, he’s back with his latest single “Blood Roses.” The track hosts a feature from Jae Skeese and the two share bars over a Cardiak beat that is pulled from the heart of Hip Hop. Conway previously teased this track with a message: “It’s almost time…. cooked up something spectacular wit my n*gga @cardiakflatline just wait and see what’s bouta happen.”

Next week, we’re set to receive Conway’s La Maquina project and if the rumors are to be believed, his God Don’t Make Mistakes album out of Shady Records will arrive sometime this year. We received notice back in November that the project’s release was hit with a delay and fans are eagerly anticipating the Conway-Shady collaboration. As we wait for more news about GDMM‘s arrival, stream “Blood Roses” and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m shootin’ at everybody, I don’t hit you, then I hit the n*gga closest (Brr)
I gotta be at least top three when a n*gga focused (Cap)
It’s n*ggas that pocket watch me and got hidden motives (Hah)
I see right through ’em though, I just act like I didn’t notice (Yeah)
Used to walk in the kitchen, killin’ roaches

Majid Jordan Make Triumphant Return With “Waves Of Blue”

We haven’t received a new album from OVO Sound’s Majid Jordan since 2017’s The Space Between, so it’s expected that fans are overly excited to hear that the duo have a third studio album in the works. To officially launch their rollout season, Majid Jordan returned on Friday (April 8) with their new single “Waves of Blue.”

“’Waves of Blue’ is like staring at the ocean. You’re not in the water, but you’re still getting carried away by its currents. It’s the story of someone’s desire to love and be lost in that love,” the Canadian duo shared in a press release. “’Waves of Blue’ was made at the very beginning of this album, and it only makes sense that we begin our next chapter with this song.”

Stream “Waves of Blue” and let us know if you’re excited to hear more from Majid Jordan.

Quotable Lyrics

Guess how I’m feeling so low
Don’t have to ask me twice
You really take me there
I wanna touch your light
I wanna breathe in your air

Gwen Stefani Recruits Saweetie For “Slow Cap”

It looks like Saweetie has been a busy bee. As her breakup with Migos’s Quavo has recently taken center stage, Saweetie has been pressing on with her increasing collaborations. Lil Tjay tapped Saweetie and Tyga for his “Move” track and the Icy rapper recently made an appearance on Demi Lovato’s “My Girlfriends Are My Boyfriend.” Saweetie’s popstar efforts continue on Friday (April 9) as she joins forces with Gwen Stefani on the singer’s latest single “Slow Clap.”

This is Stefani’s first music offering of 2021 and by the look of the colorful music video, the No Doubt singer is giving a nod to her 1990s look that helped her become famous. As usual, Saweetie interjects with her bossy bars, so stream “Slow Clap” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

I’ll be David, you Goliath
Set the rule and I’ll defy it
You’ll be angry, I’ll be quiet
You’ll be purple, I’m the violet
Take a ride ’cause I’m the co-pilot
I’m the ice cream, you’re just the diet

Doja Cat & SZA Are Pop Princesses On “Kiss Me More”

Last month, SZA sat down with Doja Cat to interview the Hot Pink star for V Magazine. Inside, SZA praised Doja’s eclectic pop style and stated that she believes Cat was on her way to becoming the next Britney Spears. Doja has been carefully preparing for her forthcoming album Planet Her and while she wouldn’t detail the features on the record, the singer did give a little bit of a hint.

“It’s people that I respect and I’m extremely excited about having on the album and it’s a full-circle moment for me, basically,” said Doja Cat. Meanwhile, SZA fans have been begging the Top Dawg Entertainment singer for a follow-up project to her 2017 studio debut Ctrl. She’s promised that she has heat on the way, but we’ll have to wait for the TDE gods to bless us.

In the meantime, the two ladies have joined forces on “Kiss Me Now,” a Pop-heavy track that is oozing with radio appeal. Stream Doja Cat and SZA’s “Kiss Me More” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

We could kiss and just cut the rubbish
Then I might bе on to somethin’
I ain’t givin’ you one in public
