Sauce Walka Enlists A$AP Rocky On “ASAP Sauce”

Sauce Walka has been unveiling project after project this past week. In a matter of days, the rapper shared four projects including God Of Texas. Though he kept the majority of features within his inner circle on all four projects, God Of Texas did include a highly anticipated collaboration with Harlem’s own, A$AP Rocky. Together, the pair deliver an eerie yet luxurious banger where they detail their fashion fetishes, as you could only expect from Rocky.

The collaboration should come as no surprise since Rocky’s appreciation for Houston culture has been well-documented. The pair were previously spotted shooting a music video which built anticipation for a collaboration. Even with the amount of influence that came from Houston, Sauce Walka offered praise during an interview last year for always giving credit where it’s due.

Blac Chyna Remixes Moneybagg Yo’s “Said Sum”

MoneyBagg Yo had one of the hottest songs of the last year with “Said Sum”. The star of HotNewHipHop’s latest digital cover story, Bagg always has a sense of what’s going to be the next biggest slang term, getting on top of all the trends in his music. His latest single “Hard For The Next” with Future has been going off in recent weeks but still, “Said Sum” remains a favorite from his catalog.

This week, Blac Chyna felt like flexing her skills in the studio to the record, filming a low-budget video for her new remix of “Said Sum”. The remix is officially out now and, already, it’s been getting some pretty mixed reviews. While Chyna’s core fanbase is glad to see her diving head-first into her passion, rap fans aren’t in love with her flows, commenting that she’s improved as an artist but that she still sounds disinterested at times.

Listen to Blac Chyna’s latest musical release and let us know what you think. Don’t forget to leave your rating above.

Quotable Lyrics:

B*tches be hatin’, I get to the bag and I flash it
I need a milli to show up, and a penny less, you get no action
I’m here for a while, yeah, my bag never ends, it’s everlasting
I’m in love with the money, it stay on my mind, I’m obsessed, get it with passion

DreamDoll Takes On CJ’s “Whoopty” On New Freestyle

The “Whoopty” beat circulated drill scenes across the globe (when it wasn’t called ‘Whoopty’) but it was Staten Island’s CJ that brought it into mainstream consciousness. Even non-drillers began tackling the beat and putting their own spin on the record. The latest to do it is none other than the Bronx’s rising star DreamDoll who came for every rapper’s neck — male or female. Her delivery cuts deeper than the bars themselves but Doll’s boastful presence on the track feels even bigger over this particular beat.

The new freestyle arrives days after she assisted CJ on the release of his single, “Lil Freak” which earned over a million views in a matter of days.

Check out DreamDoll’s remix to “Whoopty” below.

Don’t get this pretty shit confused
You don’t want me act a fool
You might end up on the news
Make a n***a buy me every bag
But this rap shit, I’m payin’ dues

Mobb Deep Kicked Things Off With “Peer Pressure”

Given how much Mobb Deep has accomplished in the rap game, boasting an incredible discography and no shortage of legendary tracks, it’s hard to imagine a time when they were only getting started. Yet on this day in 1993, twenty-eight years ago to be specific, Havoc and Prodigy’s debut album Juvenile Hell was first released. Though hindsight would see it — perhaps unfairly — overshadowed by their classic sophomore The Infamous, there remains plenty of charm found on the Mobb’s first LP.

Especially on the DJ Premier-produced “Peer Pressure,” a track that eschews their signature darker sound in favor of a more typically old-school sound. Though it might prove a little too vintage for certain modern sensibilities, hip-hop historians should appreciate this blast from the past — especially considering how integral New York’s hip-hop scene was in building the culture as we have come to know it.

Be sure to show some love to Havoc and the late Prodigy, two key figures in the existing rap pantheon of greats, uncredited though they sometimes are. With a legacy that continues to resonate today, be sure to revisit the place it all began — Juvenile Hell — and show some love in the comments below.

QUOTABLE LYRICS

Most don’t understand how it is
In the world of today growin’ up as a young black teen
I used to dream, of bein’ an architect
Easier said than done, believe me it’s hard to get
Out of the projects, without forgettin’ where you came from
My parents told me from day one
Finish school and avoid all obstacles
But my environment makes it so impossible

ILoveMakonnen Delivers New Single “Whoopsy”

ILoveMakonnen has returned, on a Tuesday no less, with his brand new surprise album My Parade. And while fans are no doubt diving into the thirteen-track endeavor as we speak, one of the easy standouts happens to “Whoopsy,” which arrives complete with a trippy visualizer. With a playful chorus that seems entirely designed to captivate mass attention on TikTok, Makkonen navigates an uptempo instrumental with a pair of flex-heavy verses.

“I done spilled my whole fo on my motherfuckin’ Prada,” he raps, pushing his cadence into a cartoonishly arrogant state. “And that bitch still dancing on me ’cause she know I got them dollars / Throw it up in the sky, see me fuckin’ drive-by / in that purple lemonade, got you sippin’ hi-hi.” While it’s unlikely that many will find much intellectual stimulation with this one, there’s a simple charm in Makonnen’s bawdy approach that might resonate in certain circles. Do you think “Whoopsy” has the legs to give Makonnen a surge of momentum?

Famous Dex Shares New Single “See Me”

Famous Dex struggles with substance abuse and his health have caused concern for his fans over the years. In late December, he was admitted into a rehabilitation facility where he stayed for nearly a month. Since then, he seems to be getting back into the zone of creating music, even if fans haven’t necessarily been keen on his recent previews. However, we’re happy to see him back, better, and getting to the money.

Over the weekend, he rapper emerged with an upbeat bop titled, “See Me.” In the song, Dex tackles a trippy beat as he mindlessly stunts on his haters. “Now I’m ballin’, everybody wanna be me,” he raps on the record.

Kendrick Lamar Ushered In A New Era On “HiiiPower”

In the last decade, Kendrick Lamar has outright proven that he’s a different beast. He unleashed three undeniable classic albums that have made an astronomical impact on the rap game today. However, before there was a DAMN.To Pimp A Butterfly or Good Kid m.A.A.d. City, there was Section.80, an album that many fans would credit for introducing them to his artwork.

It was “HiiPower” that shook the underground rap scene to its core. Serving as the lead single of Section.80, the song hits its 10-year anniversary today. Kendrick’s impassioned flows cut through the paranoia-inducing production of J. Cole. “Pictures of Martin Luther starin’ at me/ Malcolm X put a hex on my future someone catch me,” raps Kendrick with ease in his tone, as the tension in his voice build-up throughout the record.

With today marking 10 years since the single was released, we’re more than excited to hear what Kendrick has up his sleeve next.

Money Mu & Pooh Shiesty Deliver High Energy On “Problem”

Atlanta’s Money Mu has been rumbling the streets with bangers. Collaborations alongside major names like Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo, and Renni Rucci have cemented him as an up-and-comer to keep an eye out for, especially with the backing of powerhouse production team Nard & B who produced 2019’s Still Believing.

With the remix to “I’m Sayin'” with rising hip-hop power couple Renni Rucci and Foogiano still in rotation, he emerged on Friday with a brand new single alongside another 1017 signee, Pooh Shiesty. Together, they deliver a high-octane banger titled, “Problem.” The monstrous production brings similar cinematic elements to sounds you’d hear in UK drill but their heavy and concise flows dominate with details of violence and luxury.

Big Scarr Gives Off Big David Spade Energy On “Joe Dirt”

The new era of 1017 is moving strong into the new decade. In the past decade, Gucci Mane’s pretty much gone through hell-and-back, returned in better form, and is now in the perfect position to pick up the label into a new generation. Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are currently crushing it in the streets but Big Scarr is right behind them. The Memphis rapper is emerging at a time when his city is seeing much success in the rap game.

This week, the rapper emerged with an ode-of-sorts to David Spade’s character in the 2001 comedy, Joe Dirt. Scarr tackles the key-laden with boastful confidence, detailing large amounts of money, firearms, and the politics of Memphis’ streets.

Jay Critch Is Back With New Video “Talk”

Jay Critch has kept a loaded clip for the last few years, despite some apparent trouble over on the label’s side. A few months ago, the Brooklyn rapper called out Rich The Kid for allegedly holding him back on Rich Forever, no longer working in the artist’s best interest. As they appear to have gotten back on good terms, Critch has been releasing a lot of new music, including his latest video for “Talk”.

The new video starts out with somebody trolling Critch for allegedly traveling to Puerto Rico without any women, which is apparently grounds to clown the rapper… He’s firing back with the “Talk” video, which shows him enjoying a daytime poolside party with a couple of bikini-clad models, flexing with his team.

Watch the new video from Jay Critch below and let us know what sort of content you want to see from the rapper moving forward.

Quotable Lyrics:

Sometimes I forget that everything I do they talk about it
Diamonds on me sparkle, try to reach and you get sparked about it
Problems gone get solved, we ain’t tryna argue ’bout it
Ain’t tryna go back and forth, way before I got a bag was talking losses
And the old heads know the youngin’s carrying the torch
