Coi Leray Brushes Off Haters & Brags About Life Of Luxury On “Okay Yea!”

We first received a preview of this track months ago after Coi Leray appeared on Triller dancing to the track. The singer-rapper is enjoying her moments in the sun after being included in the 2021 XXL Freshman class, but that accomplishment hasn’t kept people from criticizing the rising star. Leray’s Rap style and sound are unique and often the subject of ridicule, but even her controversial viral moments have paved the way for success.

On Friday (August 13), Coi Leray delivered “Okay Yea!,” a single where she once again brags about the life of luxury that her newfound wealth has afforded her. Leray’s approach to not only her career but her delivery is welcomed by her fans who are looking for a more light-hearted sound in the Hip Hop space.

Stream “Okay Yea!” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

Keep my eye on the money, I never go broke

Dumping these n*ggas like Lori, yeah
They always switch up their story, yeah

Ludacris Breezes Through “Butter.Atl” Single

It is undeniable that Ludacris has one of the most recognizable voices and flows in Hip Hop, and while he adheres to both on his new single, the chorus shows that he’s been switching things up in the studio. The Atlanta icon recently celebrated the birth of his fourth daughter Chance, a newborn that he shares with wife Eudoxie Bridges. While fatherhood and a successful movie career have been taking up much of Luda’s time, he always gives himself a moment to beast out in the booth.

Luda returns with “Butter.Atl,” a track he breezes through as he speaks on his legacy, career, and climbing out of the trenches with his friends and family beside him. His fans can only hope that another project is on the horizon, but as we await more news, stream “Butter.Atl” and let us know what you think of Ludacris’s latest.

Quotable Lyrics

Wale Taps Yella Beezy & Maxo Kream For “Down South”

Washington D.C. may be America’s capital, but for its residents, the bustling metropolis is one of many Southern cities. The DMV is home to several of our favorite artists including Ari Lennox, Cordae, Shy Glizzy, GoldLink, and Wale. Throughout Hip Hop history, the South has been bred artists that have created classics, and Wale has called on Yella Beezy and Maxo Kream, two Texas natives, to give a nod to “Down South.”

The track follows Wale’s “Angles” featuring Chris Brown and shows that he’s fully ready to roll out Folarin 2. In related news, Yella Beezy was reportedly arrested earlier this week on drug and weapons charges, and the status of his cases remains unknown at this time. His fans are still celebrating his addition to “Down South,” regardless, so let us know what you think about the single that twists up UGK and Mike Jones hits.

Quotable Lyrics

Now the find you a traffic stop get you riddled with holes
We be living too fast we be sipping it slow

“Bow Wow Vs. Soulja Boy” Visual Shows Rappers Enjoying The Good Life

We are only a couple of months out from the launch of the Millennium Tour 2021 and fans are excited to see their favorite artists grace the stage. Omarion, Bow Wow, Ying Yang Twins, Ashanti, Pretty Ricky, Sammie, Soulja Boy, and Lloyd are set to join together for the nationwide tour that was delayed last year due to the pandemic. Bow and Soulja are adding to the hype with the release of their latest collaboration, “Bow Wow vs. Soulja Boy.”

Longtime friends Bow Wow and Soulja Boy recently made an epic appearance on Verzuz, making waves while playfully trolling one another leading up to the performance. The pair of rappers are continuing to capitalize on the moment with their single, and they even delivered a visual that hosts half-naked women as they toss around stacks of cash because, well, they can.

The track only lasts a little over a minute and a half and only features one verse from each artist, but you can check out what Bow Wow and Draco have to offer. Stream “Bow Wow vs. Soulja Boy” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

It’s 2021, well me and Draco we’re back, we ain’t takin’ no losses (Nah)

Lizzo & Cardi B Address Gossip Folks On “Rumors”

She gave fans a sneak preview of her new single by stripping down on social media, and now Lizzo’s “Rumors” has arrived. The singer has been on a monumental rise over the last two years and she hasn’t given fans a solo effort in some time. Many believed that “Rumors” would find Lizzo performing alone, but she revealed that New York rapper Cardi B would join in on the fun.

“Rumors” directly addressed the speculation that the ladies are regularly tacked with including gossip about their personal and professional lives. The friends take aim at the naysayers and trolls who often find themselves in both Lizzo and Cardi’s mentions, but they seem too comfortable enjoying the successes of their labor than to give energy to critics.

Watch the Greek mythology-inspired music video to “Rumors” by Lizzo featuring Cardi B and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

Look, I’m a Bronx b*tch with some pop hits
Used to pop off when they pop sh*t (Woo)
But I’m calmed down and I’m locked in
And my records live in the top ten
Lizzo, teach me about this big girl c*ochie (Okay)
Last time I got freaky, the FCC sued me
But I’m gonna keep doin’ what I wanna do

Rae Sremmurd & Kodak Black Struck Gold With The Woozy Party Anthem “Real Chill”

Five years ago today, on August 12, 2016, Rae Sremmurd unleashed their second studio album Sremmlife 2. Boasting some of their biggest hits to date — including “Black Beatles,” “By Chance,” “Look Alive,” and “Swang” — the brotherly duo’s second installment in the Sremmlife trilogy was one of their most raucous works to date.

A record that saw its true potential during live shows or smoke-filled parties, Sremmlife 2 has aged exceptionally well, and much of that can be attributed to the record’s versatility and all-around infectious energy.

On its five-year anniversary, we revisit Sremmlife 2‘s second track, the Kodak Black-assisted “Real Chill.” While the album’s opening track literally found both Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi screaming that it was time to “start a party,” “Real Chill” is when the real party begins on Rae Sremmurd’s expertly crafted sophomore album. With hard-hitting verses from Slim Jxmmi and Kodak Black, Swae Lee’s earwarm of a hook, and woozy production courtesy of 30 Roc & Mike WiLL Made-It, “Real Chill” was a bonafide smash.

Revisit Rae Sremmurd’s energetic second studio album by watching the music video for “-Real Chill” below. Five years later, what’s your favorite track from Sremmlife 2? And where do you think the record ranks in the Rae Sremmurd trilogy?

Quotable Lyrics

I need like 10 mil, I need to put my momma in a big crib
She be tellin’ me “baby boy don’t steal”
I ain’t listen to her cause I still steal
One snap in, I put some racks in my grill
No weapons allowed, I brought my strap in here still
All I smoke is loud yeah, it’s gon’ blast in your ear
Man I’m high as the cloud, I’m on a new atmosphere
Gotta hold my niggas down till they get back here
Don’t come over here ’cause you will get clapped here

Money Man Comes Through With New Single “Live Sum Mo”

Money Man has been in the game for a minute, becoming an underground icon with his Black Circle mixtape trilogy. Most recently, he’s impressed the masses with his hit record “24” with Lil Baby. One of the smartest minds in the music business, Money Man continues to release new material, coming through on Thursday with his new single “Live Sum Mo.”

The track was released alongside a new music video. As Money Man catches his flow and effortlessly slides through for the two-minute cut, the Trauma Tone-produced song arrives with a video showing the rapper around his house, in the car, and in other locations. He references his vegan lifestyle and more on the record.

Listen to “Live Sum Mo” below and stay tuned for more new music from Money Man.

Quotable Lyrics:

Send my love out to the store, she brought me fifty vegan wraps
Everybody plant-based in this hoe, this here a vegan trap

Snoop Dogg, Redman, & Nate Dogg Took It “From Long Beach 2 Brick City”

This TBT doesn’t have any particular milestone anniversary surrounding it, but damned if it hasn’t been in my head for the past few days. Snoop Dogg, Redman, Nate Dogg, and Warren G’s posse cut “From Long Beach 2 Brick City” originally released on Snoop’s 2002 album Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss, one of the more underrated projects in his substantial discography.

While there are plenty of gems to discover throughout, this one is immediately infectious — a welcome blend of west coast funk and relentless bars, particularly from the legendary Redman. Beginning with a catchy introduction from an understated Warren G, Redman slides in and absolutely bodies the FredWreck production. It’s the sort of track that would have been a perfect single, while also pleasing the hip-hop heads who value lyricism above all.

Though Redman is certainly the showstopper on this one, the presence of the late king of hooks Nate Dogg and a swagged-out Snoop Doggy Dogg elevates this one to a new level. If you can appreciate the hip-hop of the early millennium, and let’s be honest, why wouldn’t you — “Long Beach 2 Brick City” is certainly worth a spin.

QUOTABLE LYRICS

Brick City riding, men ’bout it ’bout it
Shoot up your town and then we Bin Ladin hidin’
Meth, show ’em where the luger kept
Open your safe, show me where the food and vest
I hope when Dre hear this, he gives me a beat for ten (come on Dre)
Cause I stay on the corner like squeegee men

Injury Reserve Returns With “Knees,” Their First Single Since Stepa J. Groggs’ Passing

Last summer, Jordan Alexander Groggs, a.k.a Stepa J. Groggs from the eclectic Hip-Hop trio Injury Reserve, passed away at the age of 32. Since confirming the emcee’s passing in a brief, yet heartfelt message on June 30, 2020, the group has refrained from releasing any new music or commenting further on Groggs’ passing.

This week, however, Injury Reserve has emerged from their hiatus and announced a new album, titled By the Time I Get to Phoenix. In a lengthy statement, Ritchie With a T and Parker Corey touched on the creation of their forthcoming record, as well as Stepa J. Grogg’s profound influence on the project.

“While touring Europe in 2019, we had a show in Stockholm that had been booked in the back of an Italian restaurant instead of a typical venue,” the group explains in the statement. “To match a certain lack of production we pivoted the show into our own improvisatory take on a dj set and ended up performing a song none of us had heard before, the board recording of which became the grounding for a new album.”

“Over the next few months we locked in and put together the 11 songs that the album would eventually become,” Injury Reserve continued. “Once the tracklist came together and we started to make sense of it, one of the last phone conversations we had with Groggs was over his love for the repurposing of Isaac Haye’s By the Time I Get to Phoenix to title the album. Shortly thereafter we were struck with his loss and of course everything was put on hold.”

“Eventually we regathered and felt most comfortable finishing this album we had made as it still resonated fully (In some respects even taking on what felt like haunting pre-echoes) and above all else stayed true to his constant insistence while recording to simply ‘make some weird shit,'” they revealed. “All this said obviously this album is dedicated to Jordan Alexander Groggs, aka Stepa J. Groggs with one p better get it right.”

Check out the stunning album cover below.

By the Time I Get to Phoenix is set to arrive on September 15, so while you patiently await Injury Reserve’s forthcoming 11-track album, check out the music video for “Knees” below. Rest in peace, Jordan “Stepa J.” Groggs.

Quotable Lyrics

Shit, I can’t even grow no more
Well, at least not vertically
But all these bottles that a nigga been killin’
Got my stomach a lil’ bit lower than it’s s’posed to be, ‘posed to be
Shit, I seen my aunt the other day, she started roastin’ me
Like “Baby, how come every time I see you, you gettin’ fatter in the face?”

Machine Gun Kelly Shaves His Head For “Papercuts” Visual With Travis Barker

Kanye West has been rolling out Donda with ongoing listening sessions and delayed release dates while Drake is preparing for the arrival of Certified Lover Boy with promises that the album will make its way to streaming services before summer’s end. However, Machine Gun Kelly is carving the path for his forthcoming project Born With Horns with a few tattoos that he recently shared on social media.

The rapper-turned-rocker has been jet-setting with his movie star girlfriend Megan Fox as the pair show off their affections on red carpets from coast to coast, and at the turn of Thursday (August 12) morning, MGK returned with the first single from his upcoming album titled “Papercuts.” The track is a collaboration with his famous friend Travis Barker, and it comes as no surprise to see these two together considering MGK and Fox have been photographed for months double-dating with the Blink-182 icon and his girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian.

MGK is also sporting a new look these days as he has shaved all of his hair off, displaying a tattoo on the top of his dome. The “Papercuts” visual shows MGK giving his best emo-phase energy as he traverses Hollywood’s most famous streets including Sunset, Santa Monica, and Hollywood boulevards. It may be a far cry from the tracks he was dishing out while dissing Eminem, but MGK has spoken openly about returning to his rock roots.

Check out the video for “Papercuts” and let us know what you think.
