Sasha Keable & Jorja Smith Team Up For The Dark & Soulful Single “Killing Me”

UK singer-songwriters Sasha Keable and Jorja Smith have joined forces for “Killing Me,” a dark, yet stunning new track that explores self-love and tough breakups. “Killing Me” marks the latest entry in Jorja Smith’s recent collaborative streak with talented rising artists, following the release of songs like “1000 Nights” with Jaykae and “Bussdown” with Shaybo

When discussing the new track on Instagram, Sasha Keable said, “We wrote this 2 years ago, I was coming off the back of a bad breakup and me and J linked up with our brother @benjamintotten for a writing day, little did we know this masterpiece would come from it. This song has healed me in more ways than you could ever know and now we’re hoping that it can heal a few of you too.”

If you’ve been searching for some moody R&B, go ahead and dive into this lush collaboration from two of the UK’s most captivating singers. The music video for “Killing Me” is featured below.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m just tryna live with myself
And you have to do that as well
My heart aches to see you like this
Pretending it’s me that you’ll miss
You need to be loved by yourself
It’s okay to ask for help
But not from me
Not from me anymore

Maxo Kream Announces “Weight Of The World” LP With Tyler, The Creator-Assisted Single “Big Persona”

On Monday, Maxo Kream got Hip-Hop fans laughing when he posted screenshots of his iMessage conversations with Tyler, The Creator. In addition to hilariously illustrating the stark differences between their personalities, Maxo Kream and Tyler, The Creator’s text messages more importantly revealed that the two artists were working on music together.

A day later, the Brandon Banks artist has unleashed their first collaborative effort: a brief two-and-a-half-minute single titled “Big Persona.” The track finds the Houston native skating over production courtesy of the Call Me If You Get Lost artist, and Tyler, The Creator also plays a big part in the performance of the track as well, as he handles both the first verse and the anthemic hook.

Watch the music video for Maxo Kream and Tyler, The Creator’s booming collaboration below, and let us know your thoughts about “Big Persona” in the comments.

Mac Miller Staged A Two-Part Attack On “100 Grandkids”

On this day in 2018, the hip-hop world was saddened by the shocking news of Mac Miller’s death at the age of 26. Several years later, the pain of loss still runs deep. It feels fitting to highlight one of the many standout songs of his impressive and varied catalog, which includes such beloved projects as K.I.D.S, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, Faces, and GOOD AM.

Speaking of the latter — GOOD AM is an interesting one, as it serves as a stylistic and thematic transition point for Mac. Though he’d later go on to tackle themes like love, relationships, and mental health on albums like The Divine Feminine and Swimming, many still look to his more rap-heavy era as his prime.

As such, “100 Grandkids” feels like a well-deserved victory lap, a hybrid of Mac’s multifaceted persona — the playful, aloof, and carefree youth and his more debaucherous, hedonistic, and willfully ignorant counterpart. Here, both sides are exemplified by a two-part musical shift, produced by the tandem of I.D. Labs and Sha Money XL.

Rest in peace Mac Miller — four years removed from his tragic death, have you kept GOOD AM on repeat rotation?

Quotable Lyrics

I made a mill’ before I paid a bill
Cause fools worried about a wave, I’m a Navy SEAL
Come with me, I can make your life change for real
Always had a dream of stuntin’, it ain’t nothing unless you runnin’ shit
Just a young muthafucker with a plan

Sada Baby Drops Off “Perk Franklin”

There is rarely a week that passes where Sada Baby doesn’t drop off some new music. While his biggest look thus far occurred at the top of the year when Nicki Minaj hopped on the “Whole Lotta Choppas” remix, the rapper has kept the underground hot with loose singles. Many of them don’t end up on streaming services but hopefully, all of the music he’s dropped is a sign that he has a new project on the way.

This week, the rapper returned with a brand new banger titled, “Perk Franklin.” Hopping on exhilarating midwest production, his menacingly animated flow leads the way through the barrage of punchlines.

Check out the latest offering from Sada Baby below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
Get a handgun, put a fist in it
Yeah, .30 with the box, it’ll flip n***as
In a foreign whip, hit a lick in it

Ronski Locks In With Berner & Larry June On “Cookie Jar”

The Bay Boss Ronski has a few hustles on his plate but for now, he’s putting his effort towards delivering some taste raps. The rapper/real estate investor/A&R came through with some heat this week, in the form of a new single alongside Berner and Larry June. Together, they team up for the single, “Cookie Jar.” Spacey production leads the way for the upbeat record that’s perfectly suited for a wake & bake session. Of course, the title of the song itself takes inspiration from Berner’s Cookie brand that has been leading the cannabis industry in the past few years.

Berner is coming off of the release of latest project, Paulie Cicero while Larry June dropped his project, Orange Print back in June.

Check out the new single below.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m rollin’ the kush
I’m overly booked
Choppin’ the bush
Aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye
Makin’ ’em look

Dappy, M24 & Backroad Gee Deliver Heat On “Antigua”

UK rapper Dappy has been in full effect this year. Though he’s no newcomer to the rap game, he’s had an incredible run this year with songs like “Bolo” with Abra Cadabra, “Good Times” with Willie X.O., and his fiery “Daily Duppy” freestyle for GRM Daily.

This week, he returned with a brand new banger alongside Backroad Gee and M24 titled, “Antigua.” The three rappers dive into a moody, UK drill beat, handled by Maze Beats and Ludo. M24 kicks off the record, as he flexes both his penchant for bars and a melodic side before handing the mic off to M24 and Backroad Gee.

Check out the latest release from Dappy, M24, and Backroad Gee below. Sound off with your thoughts on their new collab below.

Popcaan Delivers A Vibe For The Long Weekend With “Live Some Life”

We’re officially on the last weekend of the summer — an extended one, at that. Unfortunately, the summer festivities will be coming to a close as cold weather nears and the anticipation for fall holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving weekend grows.

Just before the summer closes out, Popcaan emerged with a brand new single to hold down the long weekend titled, “Live Some Life.” The dancehall star tackles smooth but upbeat production with celebratory lyrics as he reflects on reaping the benefits of his hard work.

While Popcaan’s dropped plenty of new music this year, 2020 was a highly productive year for him. He dropped off FIXTAPE just in time for the summer before teaming up with OVO’s Preme for their joint project, Link Up

Peep Popcaan’s new single below.

Quotable Lyrics
Rolling like Pablo Escobar
Them never want Poppy reach so far
Big spaceship, a no Grand Vitara
I’m not playing like guitar

BIG30 & Pooh Shiesty Team Up On “Free Shiest Life”

There’s no denying Memphis’ grip on the rap game. Moneybagg Yo has been a dominant force this year, and Yo Gotti’s CMG continues to make some serious moves. BIG30 has been buzzing in the streets over the past year, alongside Pooh Shiesty. Unfortunately, Pooh is locked up but Big30 did not release his new album King Of Killbranch without the inclusion of his friend.

Pooh Shiesty makes a few appearances on Big30’s new album including on “Free Shiest Life.” On the record, Big30 offers an introspective look into his life in Memphis and the experiences that shaped who he is today. However, Pooh Shiesty comes through with a short verse to cap off the record and elaborate further on their upbringing in Memphis.

Check the song below.

Quotable Lyrics
Can’t ever go for shit, ’fore rap I really was a stepper
Two steppin’ with that .40, catch me dancing with the devil
Every state with them Dracs, we don’t give a fuck if they dirty
Can’t perform with no gun, you can’t move big without the ’30

M Huncho Is Stacking Up His Chips On “Breadwinner”

2020 was a busy year for M Huncho. The masked UK rapper delivered a joint project with Nafe Smallz titled, DNA, and also came through with his stellar solo album, Huncholini The 1st. He’s been rather lowkey over the course of 2021, though. He dropped “Overpriced” at the top of the year and followed through with a few guest features. However, it looks like there are promising signs that he could be dropping off some new heat before the year comes to an end.

M Huncho slid through with a brand new banger this week titled, “Breadwinner.” Connecting producer Quincy, M Huncho’s honeyed melodies meet grungy guitar strings and heavy bass as he details his journey to the bag.

Check the latest from M Huncho’s new single below.

Quotable Lyrics
Pistol or the gauge, oh
And I’ll beat the case
Arabic dial, let me put it on the face
Seven figures, and I’m pushin’ it to eight
I don’t think it’s luck, I put it all on fate
And I pray to God to take away my sins

Drake Drops Timeless Bars On “The Remorse”

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy will be the biggest album of the year (so far). The highly anticipated project touched down last week, and fans are loving the project. Drake finds himself in familiar territory on the album, using braggadocious raps and lady-leaning singles to capture his main audience. However, we do get a glimpse of a more vulnerable Drake on songs like “The Remorse.”

Produced by 40, “The Remorse” sounds like it would be home on Take Care. Drizzy vents on the introspective track as nostalgic pianos and patented drums paint the picture in the background. Fans speculate that Drake disses Charlamagne Tha God on the track, however, the bars could be for several radio hosts. Check out “The Remorse” and let us know what you think below.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m always tryna rekindle
From the bottom the to the top, man, what’s it like in the middle?
From the lemon faced radio host that love to be bitter
To my dogs in the game who wasn’t pick of the litter
For the young Gs out here starting from the beginning
Nobody praying for you when you winning, don’t forget it
