Common & Brittany Howard Collaborate On Gorgeous New Song “Saving Grace”

Common is one of the most respected veterans in the hip-hop world and over the past few years, he has always made sure to speak on pressing issues in his music. The artist is a poet in its truest form and his new projects always provide some incredible lyricism and flows. On Friday, he dropped off A Beautiful Revolution Pt.2 which contains an array of features. On the song “Saving Grace,” we get a feature from Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, who sounds fantastic when paired with Common’s rapping.

The track has a psychedelic guitar part which is fed through a wah pedal to give you that Funkadelic sound that one would find on a track like “Maggot Brain.” From there, Common delivers an inspired verse all while Howard belts out the perfect complementary verse to fit the aesthetics of the record. It’s yet another fine effort from these two and you can check it out, below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Behind my eyes, I reach for skies that tell no lies
The earth, it cries for change that can’t be televised
We polarized and synthesized by stimuli
My heart is why the parts all died, I can’t deny

Flatbush Zombies & DJ Scratch Cover Metallica’s “The Unforgiven”

Metallica is one of the most legendary metal bands of all time and their Black Album from 1991 is one of their most classic albums thanks to the fact that it brought their sound to the mainstream. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this project, the band has come out with a special album full of covers from a diverse range of artists. In fact, plenty of hip-hop acts can be found on this new album, including Flatbush Zombies who were joined by DJ Scratch for a unique rendition of “The Unforgiven” which is one of the biggest hits on the album.

With this new version of the song, we get a sample of the acoustic guitar line all while James Hetfield’s original chorus is played throughout the song. From there, we get some inspired verses from Erick The Architect, Zombie Juice, and Meechy Darko. The group’s vocal stylings fit perfectly over the song all while DJ Scratch’s production helps keep the song’s original vibe alive.

Flatbush Zombies and Metallica is a crossover you wouldn’t expect although it is certainly done tastefully.

Can’t leave rap alone, the game needs me
Haters want me clapped in chrome, it ain’t easy

Baby Keem Flexes His Melodic Side On “gorgeous”

Baby Keem has been bubbling for a few years now and in 2021, he has had a quick ascension to fame thanks to numerous co-signs from the likes of Kanye West, Travis Scott, and most importantly, his beloved cousin Kendrick Lamar. Yesterday, the artist dropped his brand new album The Melodic Blue which is filled with some eclectic tracks that have already set the internet ablaze. One of the standouts on the album is the track “gorgeous” which sees Keem at his most melodic.

The artist sings about women on the track while also going in deep on the perils of fame and the hoops he now has to jump through just to have some normalcy. It’s a track that is in stark contrast to songs like “range brothers” and “family ties” although that’s the point. The Melodic Blue is filled with unique sounds, and “gorgeous” just so happens to fit that bill.

Quotable Lyrics:

Trophies hidin’ in the nosebleeds
Baby, get to know me, I got rich off no sleep
Baby got the Rollie, workin’ through the proceeds
Baby, I go toe-to-toe-to-toe with the whole league

Tems Sings About “Crazy Tings” In Her Rhythmic New Single

Tems is the Nigerian musician behind the song that many would argue was the song of the summer: WizKid’s “Essence.” Despite being released last November, that runaway hit has been stuck in several fans’ heads all spring and summer long, but over the past handful of weeks, Tems’ star power has increased even more.

In August, WizKid released a Justin Bieber-assisted remix to “Essence,” marking Tems’ first collaboration with the Justice singer, and just last week, the sensational Nigerian artist made a scene-stealing appearance on Drake’s insanely successful sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy. Now, one week after her high-profile appearance on Drizzy’s “Fountains,” Tems has returned with a bop of her own.

“Crazy Tings,” is a rhythmic track that finds Tems floating over breezy reggae production from Guilty Beatz.

If you’ve been impressed by Tems’ sensational appearances on Drake and WizKid’s songs this year, then listening to “Crazy Tings” is a must. Scroll down to check out the rising star’s latest single.

Quotable Lyrics

All you do is try and try and try
You don’t even know the kind of things
But you try to tell me all these thing
Give me some time, I need peace
