Majid Jordan Returns With New Single “Summer Rain”

Majid Jordan is back with another new single “Summer Rain,” a track that will surely energize house parties and dancefloors whenever it queues up. On their latest drop, OVO’s r&b tandem tap into the spirit of the eighties — but the modern eighties, which has essentially influenced the musical pop landscape today.

Vocalist Majid Al Maskati rises to the occasion with an infectious melodic line, sliding into falsetto as he reflects on a passionate relationship. “The darker the blue, I’m thinking of you/I can’t close my eyes when I know what’s coming next,” he sings, over a pulsating blend of synthesizers. “Love on the run as we watch her rising, it’s coming, it’s coming up golden.”  It’s a promising sign that Majid Jordan’s new album is on the way, and should they continue to operate in this sound space, fans who have been eagerly awaiting a follow-up to The Space Between will not be disappointed.

Check out “Summer Rain” now, and sound off if you’re excited for some new Majid Jordan.

G-Eazy & Demi Lovato Address Their Controversies On “Breakdown”

We’re set to receive G-Eazy’s fourth studio album These Things Happen Too next week, and he’s rolling out the record with the help of Demi Lovato. Last month, Lovato teased that there were big things coming with the Bay Area rapper, and on Friday (September 17), the pair surfaced with their collaborative single, “Breakdown.”

Throughout their careers, both artists have made headlines over their controversies, and they address many of them on the track. Lovato discusses her drug addiction and overdoses, while G-Eazy mentions his run-ins with the law. This comes days after the news was shared that he was arrested in New York City following a brawl at a nightclub.

The pair also dropped off a music video, so stream “Breakdown” and let us know your thoughts

Quotable Lyrics

Lil Nas X Tells A Story Of Love, Sex, & Heartbreak In “That’s What I Want” Visual

If critics were upset with “Industry Baby,” they are going to have a field day with this. On Friday (September 17), Lil Nas X dropped off his anticipated debut studio album MONTERO. The controversial star has ruffled a few feathers during the rollout of this record, much of which came because he proudly touted his sexuality. Detractors stormed social media to speak about Nas X being a negative influence on children, but the Popstar made it clear during his recent visit to The Breakfast Club that he is not responsible for anyone’s children.

In addition to releasing his album, Lil Nas X also delivered the music video to his single “That’s What I Want.” The visual opens with Nas X as a football star who has a romance with a fellow player, but life takes a turn when the man he loves decides to get married and have a child with a woman. The track is all about having a deep desire to fall in love and ends with Lil Nas X crying at the altar in a wedding dress.

His fans are praising him for representing gay relationships in mainstream media, but those sex scenes will certainly get his critics talking. Stream “That’s What I Want” and let us know your thoughts.

H.E.R. Adds Lil Durk To Remix Of Lil Baby-Assisted “Find A Way”

She released her official debut studio album Back of My Mind back in June, and now H.E.R. returns with the remix to a fan favorite. The songbird collaborated with the likes of Chris Brown, Cordae, Thundercat, and more on the record, and while Lil Baby appeared on the original version of “Find A Way,” H.E.R. brought on Chicago icon Lil Durk to round out the remix.

We’ve received several collaborations between Durkio and Baby, including their collaborative summer release, Voice of the Heroes. The rappers are two leading forces in the industry right now, so pairing them together once again to bolster H.E.R.’s track is spelling success for all three artists’ fans. NBA YoungBoy Drops “On My Side” Single & Visual

After delaying his album due to his legal troubles, YoungBoy Never Broke Again will release Sincerely, Kentrell next week. The rapper has been incarcerated for almost the entirety of 2021 after being arrested in Los Angeles on weapons charges at the top of the year. The federal case could spell serious trouble for NBA YoungBoy if convicted, but he and his legal team have steadily maintained his innocence.

Ahead of Sincerely, Kentrell‘s arrival, YoungBoy delivers his new single, “On My Side,” along with an accompanying video. YoungBoy recently shared “Life Support,” and while the video for that song was comprised of old clips of the rapper, “On My Side” seemingly tells a story of someone who may have gotten involved in something they’ll soon regret.

Stream “On My Side” and let us know what you think.

Quando Rondo Gives Nicki Minaj A Shout Out On New Single “i8”

Quando Rondo is on a roll. Three weeks since he dropped single “Now or Never,” the Savannah GA rapper returns with his latest, “i8.”

Following the death of King Von, Quando faced a lot of backlash for his close proximity to the incident. Since then, he has been outspoken on his side of the story and has clarified that he and King Von had no beef before Von was shot and killed. The rapper has been in the limelight for months over this controversy and has shared his concerns on its impact on his career

Still, Quando Rondo decided to take on the moment by dropping his mixtape Still Taking Risks in May, and has continued to push out singles since, as if to show critics that he’s unaffected by all of this, and evidently, still making music.

His newest single proves that it’s business as usual, with Quando throwing out references to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B over an infectious beat. Check out the music video for the song below and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics:

Man, I need me a baddie like Nicki Minaj
Come put that p*ssy on me
I need me a Cardi, without the B, you know I’m C’ed out
Whole Lotta Red, no Playboi Carti, leave his corner

Comethazine Is Dying For A Rematch On New Single “Spinback”

Comethazine is looking for revenge on his new single. Titled “Spinback,” Comethazine’s latest, and characteristically brief, track finds the 2019 XXL Freshman desperately eager to settle the score. In the song’s hook, Comethazine makes it clear that whatever beef he has with his adversaries is far from finished, and he urges them to “please spin back.”

“Spinback” serves as the first single from Comethazine’s upcoming album, Comethazine The Album, and it also arrives alongside a haunting music video that is shot, directed, and edited by the East St. Louis artist. After walking down a dark alley, Comethazine is shot by a group of people, and he performs the track while bleeding out on the street and while being transported in an EMS vehicle.

Check out Comethazine’s first official single of 2021 below, and let us know in the comments if “Spinback” has you excited for his Comethazine The Album.

Quotable Lyrics

Please spin back, wanna know what you meant by that
Oh, I know, you must have thought I was a ho

Mac Miller & Ty Dolla $ign’s “Cinderella” Is A Classic

Following Wednesday’s announcement that Mac Miller’s cult classic mixtape Faces would finally be releasing on streaming services and on vinyl next month, today yields another opportunity to reminisce on the late rapper’s legacy. Released on September 16, 2016, Mac Miller’s fourth studio album, The Divine Feminine, celebrates its five-year anniversary today.

Peaking at #2 on the Billboard 200, The Divine Feminine went on to be Mac’s highest-charting major-label album, and at the time of its release, it also marked the Pittsburgh rapper’s most genre-fluid studio album. Centered around an exploration of love and the impact that women had on him, Mac Miller’s fourth studio album was an unexpected, yet incredible follow-up to 2015’s GO:OD AM

From “Dang!” and “My Favorite Part” to deeper album cuts like “Planet God Damn” and “God is Fair, Sexy Nasty,” The Divine Feminine housed countless incredible tracks, and it also came stacked with huge features from Kendrick Lamar, Bilal, Anderson .Paak, Ariana Grande, Njomza, CeeLo Green, and Ty Dolla $ign.

To celebrate the romantic epic’s five-year anniversary, revisit the impeccable Ty Dolla $ign-assisted track “Cinderella” below, and let us know your favorite song from The Divine Feminine in the comments. Rest in peace, Mac.

Quotable Lyrics

Okay, your legs just like a store: they open up and you got people in line
Been there every night for weeks at a time
You in my dreams, that’s why I sleep all the time
Just to hear you say I love you, just to touch you, just to leave you behind
I told you, you don’t have to worry, you’ll be fine
This type of thing, I heard it happen all the time
Yeah, I just wanna see you fly
Because your fragrance got me faded, you be keepin’ me high

Dark Lo & Havoc Link Up For “Mob Tales”

As he’s currently about to begin serving a seven-year sentence for witness tampering, Dark Lo is determined to give his fans as much material as he can prior. Shortly after delivering the back-to-back tandem of the Harry Fraud-produced album Borrowed Time and the Don-V-assisted Lamb, Lo is back with a brand new album produced by and featuring the legendary Havoc.

With their Extreme Measures project due out for release on September 24th, the pair have come through to release the lead single “Mob Tales.” Over a contemplative and melancholic mafioso instrumental, Havoc and Lo spit gritty bars and highlight a dangerous sort of chemistry. “I’m very excited about my project with Lo,” explains Havoc, in a press release. “It’s been a minute since I worked with an artist that has such a gritty sound, and that appeals to me.”

If you share the same tastes as Havoc, consider diving into “Mob Tales,” the latest look at the upcoming Extreme Measures project.

Newcomer Amaarae Recruits Kali Uchis For “SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY” Remix

Amaarae makes her debut on the pages of HNHH this morning, with a fresh new remix of her increasingly popular song, “SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY.” To that effect, that Ghanaian-American singer has recruited similar baby-voiced Kali Uchis to add some extra vocals to the song, and Kali slides through delivering a bilingual verse to match the aesthetic of the record.

Amaarae spoke about recruiting Kali for the shimmery, verging on dancehall-esque song, stating in a press release,

“‘SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY’ was already a magical song with myself and Moliy but Kali takes it to a new dimension! I’m excited to have her on the remix. I’ve loved her music since I was 19 in College so to be able to work on this with her was amazing and she kills her verse! I think the Sad Girlz Worldwide are going to LOVE this!”

Meanwhile, Kali echoed, “I love this song so much and was honored when Ama asked me to be a part of this. She deserves all the success and blessings coming her way.”

The original record appeared on Amaarae’s debut effort, THE ANGEL YOU DON’T KNOW, a 14-song body of work that dropped in 2020. The album showcases Amaarae’s wide-spanning and oft quirky influences when it comes to the r’n’b sound.

Check out this new remix and let us know what you think. Find more new r’n’b jams on our R&B SEASON playlist right here.
