Grafh Links With Benny The Butcher On DJ Shay-Laced “Very Different”

A longtime veteran in the game, Grafh is gearing up to release what may be his most anticipated album yet with Stop Calling Art Content. Produced entirely by the late DJ Shay, the man who mentored the Griselda trifecta and a legend in the Buffalo rap scene and beyond, Grafh’s new body of work will be curated by none other than Benny The Butcher.

Perhaps appropriately, it’s Benny who holds it down on the album’s first single “Very Different,” a track that sets a promising tone. Over a soulful horn-driven beat from Shay, Grafh lets fly a methodical flow lined with technical complexities and hard-hitting bars. His energy is matched by The Butcher — who never fails to put in work when paired with a fellow lyricist.

Check out “Very Different” now, and be sure to keep an eye out for the complete project to land on October 15th. The full tracklist lies below.

Quotable Lyrics

Now it’s center stage, you proud you bout to get that raise?
I’m in the market shopping for houses, bout to get a maid
Four bricks in a month, that’s five ounces in a day
The weed strand from a farmer that I scouted in the Bay

Icewear Vezzo Links With Future For “Everyday”

Detroit rapper Icewear Vezzo has returned with his brand new album Rich Off Pints 2, featuring guest appearances from Future, Moneybagg Yo, Babyface Ray, RMR, and more. While Vezzo himself largely holds it down across the fourteen-track endeavor, one of the notable highlights worth showcasing arrives by way of “Everyday,” one of two collaborations with Future.

By now, fans already know that Future tends to deliver on featured tracks, and this one is no exception. A veteran in the game at this point, Future holds it down with the opening verse. “I’m so geeked off these pills in a Phantom with a K, Me and Vezzo, we twins, I’m in Detroit every day,” he raps. “Got a bando in the 6 straight to the California state /I got fentanyl on my shirt cost a feature from Drake.”

Vezzo picks up with similar energy, riding the Antt Beats-produced banger with a dynamic flow. “I got shooters, I got opps, fuck your hood and fuck your block,” he sneers. “Eighty K around my neck, had to suicide my watch / I can’t move without my Glock, I can’t do without my chop.” Check out the hard-hitting “Everyday” now, and stream Rich Off Pints 2 right here.

Sauce Walka Drops “If I Didn’t Rap”

Sauce Walka might remain one of the most controversial figures in Southern rap, largely because he has no problem speaking his mind. We’ve seen him get into back-and-forths with plenty of artists who he believes have taken his swag over the years. Or, he’s had issues with people borrowing from Houston culture without giving the proper credit.

This week, he delivered an ode to Houston’s chopped-and-screwed sound with his latest drop, “If I Didn’t Rap.” With synths that are as glossy as a coat of candy paint on an old school Impala, the rapper pitches his voice all the way down as he re-imagines life without rap. Apparently, very little would change in his life. “If I didn’t rap, I’d still have hands/ Because before rap, I was punching on your mans,” he raps on the record.

Peep Sauce Walka’s latest record below.

Quotable Lyrics
If I didn’t rap, I’d still buy estates
If you didn’t rap, you’d still be selling eights
If I didn’t rap, I’d stay shrimp and steak
I ain’t never rat and I still beat every case

Youngboy Never Broke Again Is Riding High On “Footstep”

There are few rappers these days with a catalog like Youngboy Never Broke Again. Before he was locked up, it was practically a regular occurrence to wake up and find a loose single he released become the #1 video on the platform. Then, there’s the vault of records that ended up leaking on the Internet that remains equally popular among his fans as official releases.

Most artists don’t even bother releasing leaked records officially but Youngboy is evidently a different case than most. Today, he updated the tracklist for Sincerely, Kentrell with two new bonus tracks including “Footstep,” a single that made its way onto the Internet earlier this year.

Youngboy’s two new records arrived amid reports that his new album could dethrone Drake’s Certified Lover Boy from the top spot on the Billboard 200. While the official numbers will come out at the top of next week, these two new singles could help boost his streaming numbers to #1.

Quotable Lyrics
Draco come from Pakistan
Fuck that charge, say, “Sell that Xan'”
We gon’ ride down slow and blow that man
Keep Bs on me, that’s Taliban

NBA Youngboy Calls In A Verse On “Still Waiting”

There are few artists out who have the same type of grip on the youth like NBA Youngboy. It’s hard not to head into the comment section of any rap-related Instagram page without seeing at least one comment reading, “YB Better.” Youngboy’s a star in his own right, and it’s quite clear his support is just as strong now while he’s locked up as it was when he was free. Who knows how big he’ll be by the time he’s released.

While the rapper’s recently released album Sincerely, Kentrell is inching towards ending Drake’s Certified Lover Boy three-week streak at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, he added two new bonus tracks to the album including “Still Waiting.” The freshly-released song is produced by TAYMADEIT and includes new bars from NBA Youngboy that were recorded over the jail phone. His vocals are muffled and raw but offer fans an honest glimpse of his mind state in jail.

A version of the record was released last month as part of the “Lock Down Sessions” but never received an official release until now.

Quotable Lyrics
Momma I’m so sorry I can’t save myself
Grandpa just your opinion matter it ain’t no one else
Momo I miss your love I been tryna find myself
Don’t wanna be in jail just tell ’em I accept the chair

Lil Wayne’s “Used 2” Is A “Carter V” Standout 3 Years Later

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V isn’t exactly a “throwback” in the truest sense. Yet if fans go by how long they waited for Weezy’s fifth Carter drop, it feels like the project has been existing for an eternity. Today, Tha Carter V officially turns three, prompting a new conversation about where the album ranks in the context of the series.

While it’s unlikely that a clear consensus will be reached on that front, one thing is certain — “Used 2” remains an underrated highlight, one that all too often flies under the radar due to its late placement on the tracklist. Produced by the united efforts of Infamous, Prince 85 & Metro Boomin, the dark track provides Wayne ample space to unleash some incredible and violent bars. “I remember you, I was never into you,” he raps, his cadence locked in a feral frenzy. “I tell my shooters, shoot you and whoever resemble you / and every member who had been a friend of you or kin to you.”

With Tha Carter V continuing to age gracefully, how do you feel about the album three years later?

Quotable Lyrics

Your blood all over the scene, it look like red cheap wine
I’m smoking on a key lime, you look like tea time
Look like honey to my beehive, I close your sweet eyes
Shoot ya in ya head, give ya ass three eyes
And you still ain’t seen a fucking thing until you C5
I remember you, I was never into you
I tell my shooters, shoot you and whoever resemble you
And every member who had been a friend of you or kin to you

NFL Star DeSean Jackson Drops Off New Single “Roll With Me”

There’s an old saying that rappers want to be ballplayers and ballplayers want to be rappers.

Nowadays, there’s a ton of people trying to do both. From Damian Lillard to DeSean Jackson, there is no shortage of professional athletes who also rap. Guys who can score touchdowns or score 40 can walk off the field or the court into the booth and get on the mic with ease.

Just two days after racking up 120 yards and a touchdown in a win against the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jackson debuted his new single “Roll With Me” and provided visuals to match.

A bouncy record with a smooth hook, Jackson, rap name D Jacc trades verses with Armonie Jay and Mel slides through a couple times to deliver a drippy hook that gets your shoulders moving. Set in a Rolls Royce truck, a private jet and a grotto packed with D Jacc’s crew and beautiful women, the song is lavish and paints a picture of what Jackson gets into when he’s not catching 70 yard bombs for touchdowns.

Quotable Lyrics
Private jet a private island we on jet skis
Baby take me to the moon come and bless me
Them other n****s ain’t bad they ain’t like me
Going up for my n**** wish a b*tch would try to test me

Aitch Taps Toddla T, Avelino For “Party Round My Place”

Aitch has been on a roll over the course of 2021 with minimal releases. He’s still riding high off of 2020’s Polaris while recent singles like “Learning Curve” and “GSD” offer a glimpse into what he has up his sleeve for his follow-up album. Over the weekend, the rapper returned with another banger with some help from Avelino and Toddla T. The three rappers connect for a certified anthem titled, “Party Round My Place.” Toddla T cooks up the steamy production, equipped with a slick sample from Vybz Kartel while Aitch and Avelino deliver a barrage of bars detailing their superstar status and luxe lifestyle.

Peep the latest single from Aitch below and share your thoughts on his collab with Toddla T and Avelino in the comment section.

Quotable Lyrics
Show stopper patron popper the flows hotter
He gotta go show you what I got in my own locker
Head to toe, she be glowing, look at the pose on her
This girl dun changed me, I’m pulling up with a rose for her

SD Upholds Big Dog Status On “Already Know”

When you talk about Chicago’s drill scene, Chief Keef and Lil Durk are among the first names to come to mind. However, it was the entire movement behind them and their cliques that allowed it to become a massive global phenomenon. SD, for instance, was a pivotal force during the early days of the drill movement, though over the years, the hype around his name has dwindled along with his musical output.

This week, he returned with a brand new single titled, “Already Know.” It’s a declaration asserting his status on the streets over glossy synths that contrast the muddy bass. “N***as be talkin’, but they know the truth/ They know I’ll kill ’em on set,” he raps with a deadpan delivery.

Check out the record from SD below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
We was gettin’ paid in the hood
These lil n***as already know
I was on the block with the hood
They was waitin’ on the word just to go
