Northside Benji Is On The Move With New Single “Keep Runnin'”

Toronto’s having a moment right now that’s never been seen before in hip-hop history. Beyond the likes of Drake and Tory Lanez, the budding stars emerging out of the city are delivering raw and unadulterated bars that reflect the realities of the city. It’s the melodies that can be attributed to the aforementioned ex-pats, as well as The Weeknd, but there are a few key players in the city who’ve played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s sound like Northside Benji.

2020 was a rather quiet year for Northside Benji. While he was still riding high off of the Frienemy EP, fans have been longing for his official follow-up to 2018’s Caviar Dreams. After teaming up with DJ Charlie B for “30, 000 ft.,” the rapper came through with his latest single, “Keep Runnin'” this week.

Hopefully, we get an album before the year comes to an end. Check out his new single below.

Quotable Lyrics
Goyard hold hundreds
I got these hundreds comin’, so abundant
Spend it to get it, Benji’s like it’s nothin’
He hit it, we’ll get a bag just like it’s nothin’

Paris Bryant Continues His Winning Streak With New Track “Ballin”

Despite being extremely young compared to his contemporaries, Paris Bryant has been able to accomplish a lot in just a short amount of time. At 17 years old, the Brooklyn artist signed to Cinematic Music Group and since that time, he has released a few singles that have gotten the attention of hip-hop listeners. On Friday, he dropped off his latest song “Ballin,” and it is a song that celebrates his success thus far.

The track has an atmospheric instrumental that is in some ways cinematic. Throughout the song, Bryant explains how he’s ballin’ out in his new life and that he plans on building his wealth further while enjoying the fruits that come with such labor. He is extremely confident in the song as he switches up flows going from fast raps to some slowed-down sung choruses.

You can check out the new track, below.

City Morgue Go Off On Aggressive New Guitar-Driven Track “WHAT’S MY NAME”

City Morgue members SosMula and ZillaKami have proven to have phenomenal chemistry over the years. The two have made a name for themselves thanks to aggressive flows and metal-inspired instrumentals that will certainly have you wanting to start a moshpit. Fans are always looking forward to new material, and on Friday, they gave their fans just that with a new song called “WHAT’S MY NAME.”

This effort carries forth the auditory aesthetics of their previous work as we are met with wailing metal guitars and some yelled flows that will immediately wake you up. Both artists play off each other well and the lyrics will have you shadow boxing in the living room. You can peep the new song, down below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I like rocket ships and long Glock clips (Okay)

BKTHERULA & Matt Ox Team Up For Off The Wall Banger “PLACEMENT”

BKTHERULA has quickly become a favorite of the underground thanks to some wild bangers that have shown off the full scope of her versatility. The artist is gearing up to release a new album called LOVE BLACK and to help promote it, she has dropped a brand new song with Matt Ox called “PLACEMENT.”

As you will quickly realize, this is an experimental song that sees both artists playing with their flows and vocal inflections. BKTHERULA offers up some hard lyrics over the skeletal production, all while Matt Ox puts a ton of high-pitched effects on his voice. It makes for a unique contrast that has both artists shining and doing the most.

If you are new to BKTHERULA, this song is proving to be a must-listen endeavor.

Quotable Lyrics:

Would it hard feel (Yeah)
I don’t talk ’cause that’s how I feel (Yeah)
Every time I’m sayin’ how I feel (Ha), huh (Huh)
I’m insane with a hard pill (Heart spill)

Lil Wayne & Rich The Kid Grab YG For “Buzzin'”

It’s been over two years since Lil Wayne shared his last studio album, Funeral. The rapper continued to deliver some excellent guest features since then with a few solo cuts sprinkled into the mix. His return to the fold came in the form of a collaborative album with Rich The Kid that came out of left-field for most. The 10-track project, Trust Fund Babies, finds the two artists bringing their eccentricity into the fold with little features attached to the tracklist.

YG serves as the only guest appearance on the project. The Compton rapper joins Weezy and Rich The Kid for the record, “Buzzin’.” Opening up with the iconic lighter flicker that used to indicate that Wayne was delivering a ht 16. Wayne kicks off the track before Rich The Kid holds down the second verse and YG, the third, over triumphant production.

Meek Mill & Moneybagg Yo Team Up On “Hot”

It’s Expensive Pain season. Meek Mill just dropped off his fifth studio album on Friday after months of teasing a new project. The rapper led the campaign with a slew of freestyles that he sporadically dropped on YouTube. Once “Flamers Flow” dropped, Meek was in full album mode but he kept most details surrounding the project under wraps until the week prior.

Meek’s project brings together a solid mix of collaborators from R&B stars like Brent Faiyaz to two of the hottest rappers in the game, Lil Durk and Lil Baby. However, it’s Moneybagg Yo that comes through for Meek Mill with one of the best tracks on the project, “Hot.” Produced by Dream Chasers in-house producer Nick Papz, Meek and Moneybagg Yo deliver an excellent joint to flex with.

The legacy of King Von lives on, thanks to his friend Doodie Lo. The rapper dropped his album Big Doodie Lo on August 27th, featuring the track “Nowhere,” which received its own music video earlier this week.

In the clip, the Illinois native can be seen mobbing in the streets with his crew before heading into a corner store and through a hallway where he pours himself up some lean. The 29-year-old is clearly dressed for a chilly day, wearing a heavy winter coat, a beanie, and plenty of flashy jewelry.

“Bring the choppas out, we gon’ do this shit for Grandson,” Doodie Lo raps, in honour of his late friend, King Von.

The video has already been viewed over 60,000 times, and plenty of fans have left kind words in the comments.

“Doodie is growing on me, every time I hear his music,” one person wrote. “Damn bro is going had on every song he is dropping #MadRespect,” another chimed in.

Camp came through with his project FLOAT this past summer and continued to release loose singles on Soundcloud and YouTube.

2FeetBino Shows Versatility In “How Im Comin”

Following the release of his singles, “Target” and “Got Me Started,” 2FeetBino continues to push out music with a new music video for “How I’m Comin.” The Atlanta-born rapper takes on an infectiously bouncy beat while further showcasing his versatility compared to some of his latest releases. His syrupy melodies offer triumphant moments but he also shares a more personal side as he details his relationship with his daughter.

Bino’s been having quite the run this year following the release of 2020s A Story Never Told. He kicked off the 2021 run with “In Da Spot” ft. 4L Quan, one of the most memorable trap records of 2021 that’s been in steady rotation in the clubs. “How Im Comin” makes yet another shoutout to his daughter, in a similar vein to “Apple Pie” off of A Story Never Told where his daughter takes center stage in the music video. Whereas “Apple Pie” discusses the life that he wishes he could give to his daughter, “How I’m Comin” showcases the story of his come-up in trying to provide for her. The easy-going beat is juxtaposed next to lines about the rise in the rapper’s career, newfound fame, wealth, and moments of reflection about the impact that it’s had on his, and his daughter’s lives.

Peep the latest offering from 2FeetBino below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
