Curren$y & Jim Jones Rise Above The Hate On “The Beach”

Curren$y remains one of the hardest-working rappers in the game. While he might also be the highest, he’s proven to have a mean work ethic in the studio, often resulting in new projects for his fan base every few months. Earlier this year, the rapper announced that he had seven new projects in the cut for this year including collaborative efforts with Harry Fraud and The Alchemist. He already dropped off Matching Rolexes with Kino Beats, and on Friday, he followed up with Still Stoned On Ocean.

The rapper keeps his latest effort with minimal features, though Jim Jones does come through with the assist on “The Beach.” The two tackle soulful production as Curren$y details the process of overcoming adversity and Jim Jones speaks on the reality of the streets.

Quotable Lyrics
You more concerned with them hoes than yourself
That’s detrimental to your mental health
The margin is wide between hood rich and wealth
Separated bro, step up your paper

Michael Dion & Rick Ross Asks “Can You Hear Me Now?”

We’re still waiting on the highly anticipated studio album from Rick Ross, Richer Than I Ever Been. He’s been teasing the project since facing off against 2 Chainz in Verzuz in 2020, though it’s faced several delays. Thankfully, Ross hasn’t been keeping everyone high-and-dry in the lead up to its release as he’s been dishing out some excellent guest features.

This week, the rapper teamed up with Michael Dion for their new collaboration, “Can You Hear Me Now?” With lush production backing the two, they detail romance and heartbreak while Ross paints a vivid picture of his luxurious lifestyle on wax.

Ross’ recent feature spree since the top of September includes collaborations alongside Drake, Lil Wayne, Kent Jones, Kodie Shane, and Anthony Hamilton.

Fabolous Is The Latest To Tackle “Gyalis”

Capella Grey had the summer on smash with his slow-burning record, “Gyalis” which, of course, samples Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up.” The slow-burning anthem dropped in June, quickly earning praise across the board from fans and critics alike. However, it’s formed a life of its own within hip-hop, specifically. Artists like Roy Woods and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie have delivered their own freestyles over the record before Grey dropped the official remix with Chris Brown and Popcaan.

On Friday night, Fabolous quietly lifted the curtains on a remix of his own. Fab took on the beat for a quick minute-long freestyle where he showcases just how effortless the flow is whenever he touches the mic.

Check out Fab’s freestyle over Capella Grey’s “Gyalis” below.

Bobby Fishscale & Kalan Fr.Fr. Are “Role Models”

On his new song, ”Role Models,” Roc Nation’s Bobby Fishscale raps about some of the biggest struggles he’s gone through in his life, including selling drugs to buy baby food and being raised by the streets.

The track featurs Kalan.FrFr. on the chorus. “Down on my dick when I ain’t had none/Raised by the streets, I’m a proud son/I did so much to save the block/Playing hide and seek with cops/You was looking up to pops/Mine was sitting in the box,” he sings.

In a recent interview with Hollywood Life, Kalan.Fr.Fr. opened up about other artists that he’d like to work with in the future, now that he’s collaborated with Fishscale.

“I like Kehlani. I like Jhene Aiko. I like Summer Walker. And you know, it’s just, you know, if, if I’m lucky enough to be able to work with them one day. I hope we just make some dope music.”

Fish has been promoting the new single all across his Instagram page, urging followers to stream “Role Models” and check out the music video.

Keys N Krates Enlist Haviah Mighty For “Pull Up”

Keys N Krates are ramping up the efforts ahead of their forthcoming project, Original Classic. With the album due out in November, they shared a brand new single on Friday featuring Toronto’s Haviah Mighty titled, “Pull Up.” The latest from the Toronto trio follows the release of the album’s title featuring Juicy J, Chip, and Marbl, as well as “Brazilian Love Song.”

They explained that the song’s production pulls influence from baile funk to Miami bass and Missy Elliott, which is why Haviah felt like the right fit. “It feels like a night of haze and liquor with the perfect soundtrack. I’m confident and I’m feeling myself. This song is the confident lion with a freshly tamed mane, walking into the function. It is the sexy, the cool, grungy and dirty, but also, it’s sooo clean,” Haviah said in a statement.

Fenix Flexin & Louda Lou Pull Out The Big Guns In New Single “Fire Drill”

Pull the alarms, Fenix Flexin is back. Fresh off of the release of his album Fenix Flexin Vol. 1, he follows it up with his new single, “Fire Alarm.”

“Fire Alarm,” featuring Louda Lou finds the two artists calling out rappers who stunt and don’t put their money where their mouth is while exploring the themes of drugs, money, and sex — topics that have been heavily explored in Shoreline Mafia’s catalog. The music video showcases him and his group of friends vibing out as he performs the record.

Following his departure from Shoreline Mafia, who released their independent debut ShorelineDoThatShit in 2017, Fenix Flexin has made strides in his solo career in 2021.

The rapper announced a slew of shows for the coming months, kicking off in Ontario, CA on Oct. 9th. While tour preparations have definitely kept the rapper busy, he’s still had time to put out new music.

Freddie Gibbs Joins ARTZ & Bugy’s On New Single “War Time”

The wait for SSS is real. Freddie Gibbs has been on one of the most impressive runs over the past few years with the release of Bandana and 2020s Grammy-award nominated album, Alfredo alongside Alchemist. However, the trail of singles and guest features that have emerged since the top of the year has offered a promising sign into what he has up his sleeve on his forthcoming studio album.

Turkish producers Artz and Bugy have been preparing for the release of their new album We Survive and now, they’ve unveiled their latest single with Freddie Gibbs. The rapper’s machine-gun flow and menacing presence riddles through the drill-fluenced production.

“A couple years ago we were imagining what sort of beat we would be making for Freddie Gibbs,” Bugy said in a press release. “When we got the chance, we just jumped on it, and he killed his part too.”

Don Toliver Unites With Travis Scott On “Flocky Flocky”

With a fresh face of talent in the rap game, there have been a few names who’ve had the pressure to deliver this year. Don Toliver has been under Travis Scott’s wing ever since he inked a deal with Cactus Jack. While many have regarded him as Travis Scott’s protegé, he’s certainly established himself as much more than just that. His syrupy melodies have proven to be the formula to success.

On Friday, he unveiled his long-awaited album, Life Of A DON. The project is 16 tracks in total including a few unreleased cuts that fans have been longing for. He and Travis Scott team up for the trancey banger, “Flocky Flocky” on the project.
