Don Q Stops By Funk Flex & Freestyles Over “What These B*tches Want” Instrumental

Ahead of his upcoming album, Double Or Nothing, “Subliminal” rapper Don Q stopped by Hot 97 to freestyle for Funk Flex and let everybody in the game know it is not sweet on his side.

Hopping on DMX’s “What These B*****s Want” instrumental, Don spit for nearly four minutes about his lyrical prowess and his life in the BX streets.

“I walk in with the heat by the thighs, .357 he survived? Then he really beating the odds,” Don rapped. “You see how I rise? Crack charges, strap charges, I don’t beat both.”

With a relentless flow, lyrics painting a picture of a rapper living in the streets and in the booth and a DMX beat, Don Q and Funk Flex turned this freestyle into a quintessential New York hip-hop moment. It’s not winter yet, but replay this in a couple months and it’ll have you walking in the snow feeling like you can accomplish anything in the world as long as you hustle for it.

Quotable Lyrics
These n****s don’t even rap about what they actually know
Watch a movie then write a song reenacting the role
I took a compass then I found my own path on the road
I be walking through that valley alone
I can’t speak about no shootings that done happened on behalf of the bros
But tryin’ snatching my gold, then I’m clapping this pole
If I came out with it
I’m ready to have a bang out with
Out the back window tryin’ to hang out with it
For real

Soulja Boy Raps Over “Squid Game” Score For New Single

This was inevitable but still, it’s pretty crazy that we’re already getting Squid Game-branded songs. The most popular show in the world right now, Squid Game has completely taken over Netflix. With rumblings about a second season possibly being green-lit by the show’s director, the gruesome Korean survival drama is officially making its way into hip-hop, with Soulja Boy becoming the first rapper to release a song about the program.

Big Draco’s new single “Squid Game” is officially available now, showcasing the rapper’s skills over the suspenseful score. Soulja Boy references one of the games played in the show, Red Light Green Light, and says he’ll “slap a n***a like Squid Game,” much like we saw when Gi-hun, the main character, played the introductory game in the subway station.

Check out Soulja Boy’s “Squid Game” below and get ready for dozens of more songs like this in the coming weeks.

Quotable Lyrics:

Young Chop Is Straight To The Point On “Get Hit In They Sh*t”

The past few years of Young Chop’s career have been largely troublesome. He’s sparked feuds with other rappers that have led to his arrest. This never really stopped him from continue making disparaging remarks about other rappers in the game. In the midst of all of this, he’s keeping a steady stream of music on deck and this week, he returned with his latest banger, “Get Hit In They Shit.” Chop uses the moment to address his unnamed opponents in hip-hop, reminding them that he’s ready to match their energy.

Chop already came through with his latest project, I Win earlier this year. The seven-song project was largely handled solo with the exception of the remix to “Did What I Did” featuring Kevin Gates.

OG 3Three Never Broke Again Comes Through With New Single “Cardio”

NBA YoungBoy has established one of the most loyal, most ravenous fanbases in all of rap music and it’s about time his older brother OG 3Three Never Broke Again gets a little of that support.

NBA OG 3Three, who recently hinted that his brother and Certified Lover Boy rapper Drake have a collaboration in the works, just dropped a new single “Cardio” and got it popping on the go-kart track.

Rapping about “getting to the coins like Mario,” OG 3Three skates on top of a bouncy instrumental with grand piano chords and a DaBaby-like vibe. Accompanied by Mario Kart-themed visuals and the 23-year-old rapper mixing a children’s video game and his life in the streets (OG 3Three was recently arrested after hiding under a house to evade the police) “Cardio” is a fun record and is another attempt by 3Three to step into the limelight.

Vybz Kartel Delivers “3 Little Birds”

In the world of hip-hop, we witnessed Gucci Mane maintain a firm grip on the streets, even while he was locked up. The rapper was released plenty of mixtapes and songs during his incarceration which undoubtedly set him up for success once he was released. It’s a template similar to Vybz Kartel’s who remains delivering anthems from behind bars more frequently than most other dancehall artists.

Miami Carnival may have just passed but in the midst of it, Vybz Kartel made sure to come through with some brand new heat that would ring out throughout the festivities. He dropped off his new single, “3 Little Birds” over the weekend. The single is an upbeat record that’s meant to get the dancefloor spicy as Vybz Kartel details his bedroom activities.
